I love the pizza at Mellow Mushroom. It has to be my favorite chain, then CPK but let us talk about the Shroom. The staff at this location is great. They introduced me to an IPA that only they make. Mellow Mushrooms groovy environment is always irresistible. The aroma of the restaurant was scrumptious and robust. I'll wait to visit again you will know why after my review. The robust aroma was resitible. Our hostess was sweet and forgiving about our wings when she forgot the bbq sauce. But we did go to the mellow mushroom on 280. The food is always delicious and appetizing. We got pizza and wings but the food was unappetising last time and the pizza was cold and they I forgot the barbecue sauce for our wings and my mom was mad. The service was a treacherous. Our waiter was very sweet but the food was very unappetizing. But they made us pay $62.73 cents for treacherous service. This is my favorite pizza chain restaurant. I had a small pepperoni and mushroom pizza. It had the right amount of each topping and sauce. The pizza was delicious. Enjoyed the crust too! I ate the whole thing (I normally don't eat the crust.) In the past, I've ordered a medium or large pizza and didn't think there was enough sauce. So, I would ask for extra sauce when I placed the order and it would be the way I like it. Maybe they put the same amount of sauce regardless of size because I forgot to ask for extra sauce on the small and it was fine. read more

We have had a number of good experiences at MM. This last one wasn't as good, had to have food sent back twice because the kitchen didn't pay attention to food allergy requirements. (They did give me 1/2 off my sandwich since it took so long & they had to remake it & I was thankful for the consideration) They have a large menu & lots of choice when it comes to alternate choices (vegan, vegetarian, etc.). The food always tastes good too. Update: customer service for MM contacted me for feedback & to make things right. Their pizza was really good but the service is horrible. My husband and I were the first costumers of the day coming in 5 mins after they opened and stood in the front for over 10 minutes before anyone gave us to the time of day to seat us. It's been forever since I've eaten at Mellow Mushroom, and to be honest, I didn't even remember them having options OTHER than pizza... I was pleasantly surprised. Don't get me wrong, I like their pizzas. They are good and fresh (prepare to wait while they're made). But instead, I ordered the Jerk Chicken Hoagie (without pineapple). Here's the description from their menu... "Jerk chicken, onions, mushrooms, green peppers and pineapple all grilled together. Topped with pesto mayo, Roma tomatoes, spinach and feta." I'm a little bit of a pesto fan and I like things on the spicy side. This sandwich did not disappoint. On the downside, it only came with chips. On the upside, the whole was huge! Loved this place for YEARS but recently the restaurant has been empty, understaffed, slow, sticky, and the employees have been very rude. My sister can't eat pizza or sandwiches from here because of a long battle with colon cancer and traditionally grabs a (fresher and much less greasy) sandwich from Newks and is able to eat with the rest of us at mellow mushroom. The straw that broke the camels back was tonight when our very rude server kicked us out for having outside food and put us in the rain in an outside table. The entire wait staff talk bad about us before we even left the store..... that's what happens when you have unmotivated teenagers running the place. If you want solidly great pizza every time, this is the place to go. I've been to this location multiple times now and the pizza never disappoints. The staff is always attentive and friendly and the only times we've ever had less than great service was when they were clearly understaffed (this has only happened maybe 1-2 times). Disappointed, we were really excited about going for fresh hot pizza. When we got there the restaurant was practically empty, it was Sunday, mid afternoon. There were at least 7 seven people in the kitchen. Our group had 6 adults and two children. They came and got our drink order quickly but, we waited quite some time to get our food. We ordered an appetizer cheese sticks, it came, we had no plates, no silverware, no napkins, so my daughter got up and tracked down another server and asked for all the things we did not have. The first thing that came out was one of the children's wings, ten minutes later the other child's pretzel bites came out and 20 minutes later our pizza came out. The pizza was lukewarm, we ordered a buffalo chicken pizza and I felt there must have been a chicken shortage. My husband and I stopped in for lunch...it was just after high noon and still pretty quiet, but was surprised how chilly it was inside. I took my jacket off while eating and put it back on while waiting for next food item to arrive. Maybe it takes that long for it to warm up, or they keep it chilly waiting for enough patrons to bring in the heat. But moving on.... We ordered the Bruschetta (since our pizza was going to take about 20 minutes) and it was wonderful...fresh, tasty and beautifully presented with balsamic vinegar streaks across the platter. The pizzas are really good. We have been many times here but tonight (2-13-15) our service was awful and the manager was drinking at the bar. I mean I think our server was dropped on his head a lot as a kid! He couldn't remember what we drinking or when we wanted refills. Didn't bring us any silver wear or plates. I mean just awful! Worst pizza we've ever had anywhere! It was floating in olive oil, soggy and just plain nasty. My wife has always liked Mellow Mushroom and she always gets the white pizza. I've never found one that I really liked so today I decided to split one with her, what a mistake. We brought it to the waitress's attention while we were eating the first piece and she just told us that the white pizza had an olive oil base and maybe the chef put too much on it, next time we should ask for it with minimal oil? Really, what next time? My wife and our oldest daughter have absolutely loved this place for years but I think after the last two pizzas we've had here I won't have to worry about coming back as the quality has changed. I normally go to the location downtown, but I ended up meeting some friends at this location for some food and drinks. Someone came and got our drink order then our server showed up 10 minutes later. Our server was on something.. I couldn't tell if she was just really high, but it was not good. As a server & bartender I am extremely patient with others. The server came up to get our food order and we told her from the beginning that it was separate checks. We had to explain our order multiple times which was a large pizza with pepperoni on all of it and pineapple on one half plus 2 appetizers. The pizza still came out wrong, but we didn't want to complain so we ate it anyways. Our server didn't check on us much even though we were her only table. My friend's drinks were empty majority of the visit. I ordered dessert for my friend's and I to share which was a cookie & ice cream so I asked for spoons and she never brought them to the table. She sat by the computer for a while before she came back over. She came back with the checks and they were wrong so I explained that my friend's were on one check and they had the pizza and their drinks and I was paying for appetizers, my drinks, & the dessert. She took all of our cards & money then came back with everyone's bill charged to my card and gave my friend's their money and card back... I then explained again that I was only paying for what I ordered and all she said was "don't worry about tipping me!" Of course i left 20% on $70 check because I have been working in the restaurant industry for 12 years. I believe what comes around goes around, but the entire situation was kind of ridiculous, but we are not the ones to complain so we didn't ask for a manager. This was my first time at a Mellow Mushroom, and this place blew me away. I ordered take out and had to wait at the bar for a few minutes for my order to finish. The place seemed relatively busy but the bartender was still so friendly. He even opened up my order so I could check it for perfection before leaving with my take out. I ordered the stuffed mushroom cap & the buffalo chicken calzone and both were so good. Props to mellow mushroom, I will definitely be a returning customer! read more

Good for the price. Just like the sign says over the counter you will have to wait a little for your pizza because it is made to order. Everyone enjoyed their food other than a couple of errors. My wife had to send back her calzone because it was burnt underneath. They took it back and it was corrected. I had the portobello and cheese sub which was fantastic. One problem though I ordered mine on wheat and my son ordered his sub on an Italian sub roll. They mixed that up. It wasn't crowded so I'm kinda hesitant to go if they have a crowd! Thats why i gave 3 stars instead of 4 or 5. The server was good and attentive. Other than the breads being mixed up and the bottom of the calzone being burnt. It was otherwise a fair experience. This is my favorite pizza in the area. The pizza dough is perfect chewy and a good crust on the edges. The menu is great for people with diet restrictions; gluten free and veggie choices. I went there two weeks ago to the Inverness for the first time. Had been to the Southside one @ 5 years ago. Got the beer cheese pretzels and they were great. The spinach/artichoke dip was the best I have had. We got the Great White pizza. It was amazing. The waitress came over as much as we needed her. I saw a deal for 2 medium pizzas and 10 wings for $30.00. I was already in the area, and made the decision to purchase that for the family dinner based on that price. Since I was nearby, instead of sitting in my car for :30 mins waiting for it, I decided to go in and sit at the bar for a soda. And, since I was waiting inside, I figured I'd order inside.
