in the month of February, I had a honda and toyota that needed an alignment and new tires so I went to Mells tires in Lynn off 107. Then I needed breaks so I went to a differ location to get it done and that is when i noticed the tires on my toyota is worn out unevely. I have went back to Mells place with two separate cars to re-align my car and buy tires(for both cars). As a result of the first alignment being bad, my two back tires were worn out. So I came back within 2 months and asked for a touch up again- this was only after I went to replace my breaks and noticed the alignment was off and tires were uneven. ( they did not charge me for the second alignment) I did have to pay for two brand "new" tires which they could not give at a low cost or no cost(although it was there fault). The tires have warranty for one month. By the 3 month the tires were loosing their tread. usually tires last more than 3 months 04/01 At this moment I went twice and twice I have bought two tires for the rear. I came back twice with two differ cars to get a re-alignment. I went to toyota dealership 07/31 and my two tires in the rear are wasted AGAIN in comparison to the front, due to the SECOND and LAST alignment from Mells tire in Lynn. Do they do this to get you to come back and continue to buy tires ? theres no need to replace tires every 3-6month instead of going back to Mells tires I will do business with toyota. Mells alignments/tires dont even last 3 months if i never went to get my breaks done, I wouldve been driving with a bad alignment and worn out tires. They deserve negative 5 stars but that's not an option on yelp. I will tell everyone I know NEVER to go here. They are crooks, thieves, LIARS and don't deserve to be in business!!! I went to change a tire a while back because the one I had apparently had a leak and they told me I needed to change it. I was already having trouble with the sensor light always coming on because of this old tire and since it was old I bought a "new" tire from them. The sensor light for the tire pressure never turned off after they changed it. We thought it might be because of a warped rim. We bought a new rim and still trouble with the sensor and tire pressure kept going down. We took it to our mechanic and he showed us that they had removed our two front TPMS sensors. They also had sold us a used tire with a patch on the WALL of the tire!!! This could have exploded on the highway or something. It ended up costing us over $600 to buy new TPMS sensors that they STOLE from us, getting them installed, 2 new tires since it warped the other tire having everything off balance and getting it aligned. This also damaged our cruise control which we also had to have fixed. Our mechanic told us we were the 3rd people THIS week to go to them that had to have something fixed because of MELLS'S TIRE screwing something up on their car. If I had the time I would report them to consumer affairs and press charges but I don't have the time for all the hassle. Save your money and time, DON'T GO HERE. read more

Lied about the price, as soon as the guy started working on my car (Brake change) they pretty much told me it would be double. The manager was extremely rude, and now my WHEELS MAKE A NOISE WHEN I STOP, I took it back to complain and they said sometimes that happens and I would have to deal with it. My boyfriend went to get his tires changed. When we drove the car to Worcester we noticed They did not balance the tires and we had to go somewhere else to do it, the. My boyfriend was told they do not do refunds. The female that picked up the phone instead of rectifying and finding a solution to the complaint decided to swear and cuss him out In Spanish. The level of unprofessionalism is unheard of. I'm not sure how these people are in business. They are lucky we did not get into an accident or else they would face a hefty lawsuit. They replaced a tire on my SUV and after driving for a day realized that tire is slowly leaking. Went back to tell them that tire is loosing pressure and they probably need to reinstall it. They charged me $25 dollars for cleaning the rim?? Aren't you suppose to clean the rim anyways before tire install? Very unprofessional shop. FYI Don't go for any service tire in that shop, appalling service, don't stand behind their work. read more

Buyers Beware: Let me preface this review by stating that the people who work here are extremely hard workers doing a very physical job. Most staff are very helpful and pleasant to talk to. I blame myself in part for the stupid decision to fall for a hard sell to buy used rims for my vehicle. Lesson learned, shame on me, I will never fall for it again. In February, I went into Mell's tire looking to replace 2 tires. After a long wait, a tire technician brings out some nice-looking used rims, he says that it will look great on my vehicle. I initially refused but he kept on insisting this would look great and it's a good deal. An acquaintance of mine, who happen to be working there, vouched for the rims and said that it was a good deal. After mulling it over and hearing the final offer, I too thought it was a good deal at the time. 4 used rims and 4 new tires, I pay about $535 and they take my stock rims. My thought process is, the last time I bought 4 new tires at Sullivan's, it cost me over $800, and I don't need the old rims, they usually end up collecting dust in the basement. Left Mell's with good rims and new tires, so I thought. My wife drives the vehicle to work mostly, city driving, rarely goes over 50 miles per hour. We take our annual drive to the In-Laws in North Carolina this July. The trip starts of well until we finally hit the highways. We start going above 60 miles per hour noticeable shake, at 65 heavy shaking and at 70 or above, forget about. It took about 20 hrs to get to NC when it should have only taken 14 to 15 depending on stops. I take my vehicle to a tire shop in NC and explain the issues and ask for a balance. The technician informed me that my front driver side rim is very bent and the front passenger rim is bent as well, they stated that they were able to balance as best as they can, but that I would still notice shaking. They also stated that 2 of the tires were put on incorrectly (inside facing was out). Long story short, I went back to Mell's to explain what happened, apologized for not coming in sooner and explained that I didn't know the rims were bad until I hit the highway recently. The technician that sold me the rim was adamant that the rims were straight when he sold it to me and that I may have damaged it when I go over pot holes. He then continues that these rims are not right for my vehicle because my car is too heavy, mind you, he didn't mention this at the time he sold me these rims. Another technician who was translating stated that he agreed, I had bought cheap aftermarket rims that if I had hit pot holes, they could have easily weakened and bent the rims. The technician who sold me the rims state there is nothing he can do and that he's already sold my stock rims. So, here's my conclusion, I was either sold bent rims from the beginning or I was suckered into buying cheap rims that were too weak to handle my vehicles weight. An honest tire shop such as Town Fair Tire or Sullivan's would not have sold me these rims and tires. Again, I blame myself in part, I should have stuck with buying the 2 tires I needed, don't make the same mistake. You want new tires or new rims or if you have a flat, these guys are good and budget friendly, the technician who does the brakes jobs is good as well, JUST DON'T BUY USED RIMS!!! My 4 Toyota OEM rims about 289 each conservatively = total $1156 Mell's kept. Their offer, 4 used rims = I'll value at $400, 4 new tires = $125 each and I also pay $535 out of pocket = total value $365. read more

When you Google them the result says they open at 8 am. After arriving at 8am I learned they don't open until 9. They told me to go to the dealership to get the socket for the locking lug nut. In fact that was in the car with the spare tire. They purport to provide a 30 day warranty. However, I had to pay fix a valve stem they installed because I didn't keep the receipt. Apparently in 2021 there's no way to find a recent credit card transaction. read more

First time I want there was for an alignment. They did it but after taking it down the road 107, I had too turn back because it was still wrong it took them another 45min to get it right. Ok, not going to hold it against them things happen. Went a second time for a used tire, on the phone they said 30 got there and they were charging 40 for it. Once again a miscommunication. I was there a third time for a simple tire rotation, they didn't even have to take the tire off the rim, and want to charge 60 dollars for it! Ridiculous! Midas, town fair, do it for free. I called about noon on Sunday to see if they could repair a tire with a screw in it. They said they could and to come right over. I got over there and it was repaired 8 minutes later! They checked the tire pressure of the other tires, I paid a reasonable price and was back on the road! Great customer service here! read more

Major oil leak on Lynn Shore Drive 1am Friday, 2002 VW Bug. We're from out of state. Called Mell's Saturday, based on reviews in the area. Got "James", explained the problem. Told him "I pour oil in, and it comes out a hole under the car just as fast". James says "if you can get it here, I'll look at it. Towed to Mell's. James seemed good on the phone, pleasant in person. Seems my son had bottomed out over a median. Scraped a hole in the oil pan. James says, "we can have it fixed by Monday, I'll call you when it's done". Cash after it's complete. OK, deal. We leave in our other car to go back to Vermont. An hour later James calls. "Got the old pan off, getting the new one now, have it done in an hour if that's better than coming back from Vermont on Monday. We return, the Bug is done, fixed. Showed us the old oil pan (no wonder I couldn't plug the hole myself). A completely reasonable price which had been estimated when he originally looked at the job, a savings of a 400 mile round trip, and at least a half a day travel. If I lived in his area, I would ask James to be my mechanic. After a good wife, a good, honest, reasonable mechanic is a serious asset. Thank you Mell's and "James" for a great job. read more
