The test of a good restaurant is can it sustain a level of service and quality of food that spans years not months. Mercatos is a family run restaurant that has stood the test of time, that makes its own bread, and sauce from scratch as well just about everything on the menu. Mercatos has a loyal local following, high quality and predictable food, and staff that is friendly and knows you as a customer. From start to finish they do a great job making sure you have a pleasurable experience. Everything on the menu is exceptional, but my go to is the Chicken Milanese. The portions are enough to leave you a filling lunch the next day. The drinks are a heavy pour and a great deal. If you are looking for a great night out, that won't break the bank and will serve you great food in a great atmosphere, in a clean and well kept location this is the place to go!

Every time I visit home in the capital region, I have to eat Italian food. Thanks to my cousin for the introduction to Mercato's over the summer, I had to return to it this time back. We all dined in for the first time at mercato's. To my surprise, it's a very romantic, candle lit, fancy Italian restaurant. SERVICE Our server was super friendly!! He's probably the politest, funnest server that I've ever met. He was so accommodating to our requests and met our expectations. Just like mercato's high food quality, their servers, waiters are top notch professionals carrying the restaurant brand to the highest standards. WHAT WE ORDERED - Shirley temple - Cheese Garlic bread with marinara - Penne bolognese (it wasn't on the menu, but they serve bolognese) - Cavatelli with broccoli and sausage - Pizzaiola linguine This meal did not disappoint at all, we all went home with plenty of leftovers. Their portions was ginormous. I expected to share my bolognese entree with my sister, but Mercato's charges a $6 split fee. Might as well order your own entree. The food was so rich and flavorful, I probably only had 1/4 the penne bolognese n I was so full. They served bread and butter as starters, I was so filled on carbs. The total came it to be $75 for 3 entrees, 1 app, and 2 drinks, so worth the price.

Really 3.5 Stars but rounded up because we have only tried four dishes --no apps, pizzas, or desserts. Second visit here in three month period because I liked the Eggplant Parmesan. Eggplant is sliced thin and dipped in flour, then egg. Excellent. Pasta is not homemade. Sauce is good not great.. My husband's Seafood Combo dish was overpowered by the heavy tomato sauce. We think it would have been better with the alternative white wine sauce listed on the menu. It was not as good as the Seafood Fra Diavolo we have had at other restaurants in area. The bread is served warm and "toasted," but it tasted stale on both visits. The crust crumbles. I wonder what it would taste like at room temp. A decent salad is included in the cost of the entree which is nice. They serve draft Peroni which contributed to the upgrade in stars. The service is good but not great. Sufficient servers but had to ask for refills on water. The 70's music was blaring too loudly until someone must have asked for the volume to be toned down. We think there is better Italian food served in Schenectady.

During a very quick trip to the area we stopped in for dinner at Mercato's lll. The restaurant has a great reputation with the locals and we were in the mood for some good authentic Italian food. For starters we had the calamari. It was tender with a light crispy coating. We loved it. For entrees we both picked comfort food. The chicken parm did not disappoint. The chicken was moist and the light breading did not overwhelm the meat. It had a perfect amount of cheese and sauce. The chicken scaloppini is a must order. It is prepared with artichokes, red pepper, garlic and spinach sautéed in sherry and finished with a small amount of marinara. The combination of flavors is delicious.

The cozy atmosphere of the restaurant is great for a romantic evening or a quiet family dinner. We love that they have clearly marked on the menu all the vegan options and what is vegetarian to make ordering easy. Ordering online is simple but it's just as easy to call and place an order of you have any questions or concerns. This time I ordered a large pizza with vegan cheese. Half the pizza had artichokes and kalamata olives, the other half was topped with fresh sliced mushrooms and vegan sausage. No canned mushrooms here! I think its great that they know their ingredients. The Vegan cheese is always browned and properly melted. You don't have to tell them extra crispy or well done, they aren't going to give you a pizza that does look and taste delicious! Anytime we are in the Latham area and looking for a place crowd pleaser where we can order for us and the rest of the family that doesn't eat vegan food, Midpoint is at the top of the list! There really is something for everyone!

I got the 10" Chicken Ricotta, and the flavor was on point, perfectly seasoned, and the crust was so fresh. Not doughy, but that good fire pizza fresh. I'm also a sucker for anything that resembles pasta, so when I saw pasta on a pizza, it was a must try. I'm heading back to Albany right now, and this will be the first thing I order to my hotel.

My wife and I went to Marisa's Place for pizza after listening to a review on TikTok purporting it…read moreto be the best pizza in the area. Skeptics that we are, we needed to see for ourselves. We walk into the place and they have a small pizza counter. The bar and restaurant are through the double doors to your left. I don't recall any type of seating at the pizza counter area. I think that's for pickup or if you want to stop in for a couple slices to go. I would imagine they do some slamming slices business during lunch. We walk into the bar area and four people are seated at the bar enjoying their pizzas. We were debating whether to wait to be seated or sit at the bar when the bartender/waitress asked if we were looking to be seated. Yes, we are. She asked if we had reservations. We did not, but she said that was fine. We were seated in the back which was pretty dimly lit. Ambiance. I usually gauge a pie's taste by a plain pie, but I saw they had cupped pepperoni so we had to order a pepperoni pie because I don't know of any other place near us that has cupped pepperoni. We also got the meatballs for an appetizer. For drinks, plain water. Extra water was brought to us in a bottle that was chilled... no ice. Very nice touch. More water that way. The water tasted really clean too. Special mention needs to go to the bartender/waitress who held down the fort all by herself maintaining the bar area and serving out the food to table customers as they were coming out. One group came after us and then another group of six were seated across from us. I don't know about the first group, but the group of six had reservations. We got the meatballs, which come with three as an appetizer. We each took one and my wife asked me, "So, what do you think?" I thought there were really good meatballs. A lot of times they're really dense and the meat tastes weird. These were soft, moist, and very flavorful. We even were eating the sauce out of the bowl afterwards. Really good sauce, full of tomato chunks, not sweet, and not acidy either. It was just perfectly tasty. The group of six with reservations, who got seated AFTER us, got their pizza first. I told my wife that it pays to have reservations. We were cool with that. We know for next time. We got our pie soon afterwards and had to take pictures. It did look really good. The pepperonis were about the size of nickels, perfectly cupped. The crust had the char that I always look for. This looked really promising. We both grabbed a slice, folded it and took a bite of heaven. The bottom crust is thin and crunchy. The sauce and cheese tasted fresh and not plasticky like some cheeses can be. The pepperonis added a nice flavor kick to everything else going on. I then went for the gold. My teeth sank into crust the crunch reverberating throughout my skull. Wow!!! This crust was light, airy, and crunchy. This pie was firing nitro on all cylinders!!! I was so blown away. Even my wife said, "I never saw you enjoy a pizza so much. It was like you were back in NYC." If that isn't an endorsement for Marisa's, I don't know what is. We took half the pie home because I wanted to same some for tomorrow's lunch. We finished the meal with a shared slice of NY Cheesecake. Not as creamy as NJ Diner cheesecake, but definitely hit the marks for a good NY Cheesecake. We left Marisa's with full stomachs and smiles on our faces. We'll be back.

Also, most likely there will be a pretty long wait if you're ordering. They're always insanely busy and can only do so much with limited pizza workers. Be patient! Top top spot!!

Remind me, I selected the primo Philly steak with Cooper Sharp cheese. This order came with a three dollar off coupon. I also ordered a leaf lemon tea 18 ounce bottle. The Philly steak was delicious and on the poppyseed sub roll and the Cooper cheese highlighted it just fine. The leaf lemon tea was great as usual. I was impressed by the quickness of the order, as well as the packaging. The only downside I could see was where it was located. It is stuck in the middle of a complex which doesn't have ample parking space is for it, or any other establishment as well. Making it more difficult also is the one-way areas stuck in the middle, which didn't appear to be very well thought out. I ended up parking over the other side of the lot and walked over. I was lucky to find a spot even parking on the other side of the lot. A few small notes. Please designate an area when people come in with an arrow that says pick up orders. And for us older gentlemen that used to order using my last name, ordering online causes your order to be designated as your first name, last initial. And also think about wrapping the sub in wax paper and THEN wrapping it in aluminum foil. This is in case somebody wants to throw it in the microwave. It didn't seem to hurt my microwave, but the thought occurred to me seconds after I threw it in, thinking they wouldn't wrap it in aluminum foil and then wrap it in plastic would they? I immediately took it out and out of the foil and wrapped it up in the wax paper, throw it back in the microwave for two minutes, and it was fine. Nice establishment, great food, reasonable price, not so great location for parking.

I'm not paying $20 for what should be a normal size sub. I was beyond disappointed. And we ordered on DoorDash so we got hit with all the extra fees/tip so this tiny little sub actually ended up costing me $17! Definitely not worth $10 let alone 17. My coworker got a small sub as well and she couldn't believe how small it was and how little there was on the sub roll. We would never order from this place again!! Very disappointing!!
