HUGE portions and very reasonably priced! If you're looking for a place to become a regular, THIS place is it! We went on a Monday morning, were seated immediately, and our server came within a minute of us sitting down. She took our order after bringing our waters and we waited only around ten minutes before our food arrived. Neither my husband or I came close to finishing our breakfasts. We could have easily shared a meal with one another and had plenty to eat. I got the biscuits and sausage gravy. It comes with two biscuits, a ton of sausage gravy, two eggs cooked to order, and a truckload of hash browns. The biscuits and gravy were served in a full dinner-plate sized shallow bowl and the eggs and hash browns were served on a separate full-size dinner plate. The biscuits were browned nicely and had a good chew to the outside and were fluffy on the inside. The sausage gravy is the absolute best I've had as far as restaurants go. Eggs were cooked perfectly and the hash browns were nice and crispy on the outside. My only regret is that we waited so long to go here. There's a good reason why this place's motto is "Where the locals eat." This is a chain but you wouldn't know it judging by the quality of the food. Seriously this place is busy and crowded. All these metro diners are in strip malls, so very cramped. Not really impressed with quality and selection of menu. Needs more healthy options to choose from. Example I had the meat omelet, its just a scramble egg wrapped around a bunch of meat. To top it off we have an employee leaning on our table picking his nose. And he set his bucket right above our head, could've easily dumped and been a mess. This is an understated gem of Greenwood! I've been twice now and have been impressed. The most recent time, I order a strawberry salad and added grilled chicken... which was cooked to perfection. Prices are reasonable too, though I wish they had a few more, lighter options. (Yes I know this is a diner, but they'd capture greater market share with a few more, waist-friendly dishes.) One problem - my vegetarian friend was visiting from out of town. She used to live in Indy and was excited about going back. Well, she ordered an egg sandwich with NO bacon. When it came with bacon, she politely asked for them to re-make it. We were chatting a bit while we waited... well, we were facing the kitchen. I SAW the line cook pick the bacon off the sandwich and put it back in the window. Seriously?! Unacceptable. We called them out on it and the server apologized. (Obviously it wasn't her fault). Boy oh boy, what money well spent. In the cold and frigid winter our family was seeking out a new brunch experience. As we wandered aimlessly on US 31 we found this jewel. As we walked in we feared a long wait time but there just happened to be an empty table big enough, all ready to go. I usually order customer favorites when I approach a new restaurant. My logic told me chicken and waffles because there seemed to be endless reviews of this dish on here, but I went with the St. Francisco Benedicts. I've never had eggs Benedict and I was feeling a bit adventurous. After a short wait and endless amount of good coffee, our food was delivered. The food looked so good that i forgot to take a picture. The delicious aroma hugged my nose and I dug right in. The food was well cooked and full of flavor. Others ordered the Chicken and waffles and it met high expectations, including the strange maple syrup-hot sauce combination. Prepaid for Thanksgiving dinner for four people. The turkey was good. The mashed potatoes and stuffing or in scoops, potatoes only had three scoops, the stuffing had four. We were supposed to get green bean casserole, instead we got green beans that were blanched, put them in the same pan as the potatoes and stuffing. I had to pull them out and further cook them. The stuffing and the potatoes were a disappointment as they were very moist, too moist. The macaroni and cheese, I could have made for my box and paid $10 for. We got one little roll per person, not homemade, just like the ones you get in the store for Thanksgiving.... The food was in nice containers, aluminum so they can be heated up in the oven. My husband ordered the grilled cheese sandwich with mashed potatoes and I had the fish and chips with fries and slaw for the sides. The fish was a little undercooked and the batter had an odd taste. I am such a huge fan of Metro Diner! We went here for my husbands birthday dinner, truthfully I was skeptical at first. We got a table quickly and the waitress was very friendly. She gave the usual recommendations and our table ended up with 2 friend chicken plates, the special, and a tenderloin. I had the fried chicken with vegetables and potatoes. It was AMAZING. It was very warm and fresh with really great flavor. They also have a honey hot sauce that is great to dip your chicken in. I had to add a lot more hot sauce to get a good flavor, but that was easy to do. After we had our meal we ordered the chocolate cake. It was a good sized slice and the portions were perfect to split 1 piece amongst 2 people. Overall, great experience... I plan to go back and will order everything exactly the same way. read more

Stopped in to Metro with a friend on our way to do some thrifting. The wait was long for a standard table, so we opted to sit at the bar. Service was very friendly and the atmosphere was what you'd expect from a diner. I got the breakfast sandwich and a side of fries which was outstanding. My friends chicken biscuit and homefries looked great. I tried a bit of their legendary strawberry butter and fell in love. Would recommend trying it if it's your first time. There's a couple of these around the Indy area, so I'll give them another spin for sure! read more

Can't say enough about this restaurant! We hauled in 19 members of our family to celebrate our 50th anniversary after church. We were given superlative service and excellent food! Sadly, I did not get our servers name, but she went above and beyond for us! Our food came hot and yummy and all our needs were cheerfully seen to!
