First Actual Yelp Review, because we just had a great experience here. We've actually eaten at Metro before, and felt it was pretty standard, but today they really hit the mark. We had a large party of 14, and our server Alix KILLED IT!! We also had 5 kids, and I requested something off the menu. I wanted a Benedict, but with grilled shrimp, which is not an option. I welcome them to add it to their menu, because shrimp Benedict is delicious. Mine came out with my eggs overdone, but they were exceptionally prompt in fixing it. Not only was Alix perfectly attentive, the management was also very helpful, they all ensured our meals were perfect. Additionally, the hollandaise sauce was Delicious!! My girlfriend and I tried Metro for dinner and we were blown away! They really capture the traditional diner feel. The menu is varied (breakfast / dinner and specials) and everything on it sounded amazing. We split a cup of chili, which was delicious. I ended up having a breakfast platter and my girlfriend had a burger and fries. Both of us loved our meals and had leftovers as well. Have to mention the service too - it was one of the best experiences I've ever had! Staff was super friendly and attentive. Server checked on us often and kept our drinks full. Went in here for breakfast. Was not disappointed at all!! Used the reserve ahead feature that was really great letting you know how soon to show for your table. Ordered The Bissell breakfast which was great especially those pancakes they are light and fluffy with a wonderful vanilla taste. We also ordered bloody Mary's which were perfect for a brunch. HUGE portions and very reasonably priced! If you're looking for a place to become a regular, THIS place is it! We went on a Monday morning, were seated immediately, and our server came within a minute of us sitting down. She took our order after bringing our waters and we waited only around ten minutes before our food arrived. Neither my husband or I came close to finishing our breakfasts. We could have easily shared a meal with one another and had plenty to eat. I got the biscuits and sausage gravy. It comes with two biscuits, a ton of sausage gravy, two eggs cooked to order, and a truckload of hash browns. The biscuits and gravy were served in a full dinner-plate sized shallow bowl and the eggs and hash browns were served on a separate full-size dinner plate. The biscuits were browned nicely and had a good chew to the outside and were fluffy on the inside. The sausage gravy is the absolute best I've had as far as restaurants go. Eggs were cooked perfectly and the hash browns were nice and crispy on the outside. My only regret is that we waited so long to go here. There's a good reason why this place's motto is "Where the locals eat." This is a chain but you wouldn't know it judging by the quality of the food. The restaurant itself feels like a mom and pop joint and the food tastes like Mom just made breakfast for you. read more

Normally a wonderful place to eat. Usually very accommodating. However today was a little different. Normally we can order a menu item that can be made without much difficulty even though it's not on the menu and they have done it for us multiple times in the past. Today was different and is disappointing. It will be much more difficult to endorse coming here in the future if your unwilling to grant very simple accommodation. With the costs of food and the numerous places to spend dollars I will seek out establishments that are willing to grant those simple requests. In sales the customer is always right. Very clean with good service. I had a small Greek salad which was delicious and the chicken gyro. The was a bit too much sauce but I was able to get rid of a lot. Unless you really like the sauce I would say to ask them to go light. Otherwise very good. read more

Second time I have eaten here, and it is via doordash. I ordered the Chicken Pot Pie. Amazing! Seriously this place is busy and crowded. All these metro diners are in strip malls, so very cramped. Not really impressed with quality and selection of menu. Needs more healthy options to choose from. Example I had the meat omelet, its just a scramble egg wrapped around a bunch of meat. To top it off we have an employee leaning on our table picking his nose. And he set his bucket right above our head, could've easily dumped and been a mess. As we were about to say something we noticed they had something wrong with him (handicap) so we didn't. With that being said, this is something that needs addressed to that employee. read more

This is an understated gem of Greenwood! I've been twice now and have been impressed. The most recent time, I order a strawberry salad and added grilled chicken... which was cooked to perfection. Prices are reasonable too, though I wish they had a few more, lighter options. (Yes I know this is a diner, but they'd capture greater market share with a few more, waist-friendly dishes.) One problem - my vegetarian friend was visiting from out of town. She used to live in Indy and was excited about going back. Well, she ordered an egg sandwich with NO bacon. When it came with bacon, she politely asked for them to re-make it. We were chatting a bit while we waited... well, we were facing the kitchen. Boy oh boy, what money well spent. In the cold and frigid winter our family was seeking out a new brunch experience. As we wandered aimlessly on US 31 we found this jewel. As we walked in we feared a long wait time but there just happened to be an empty table big enough, all ready to go. I usually order customer favorites when I approach a new restaurant. My logic told me chicken and waffles because there seemed to be endless reviews of this dish on here, but I went with the St. Francisco Benedicts. I've never had eggs Benedict and I was feeling a bit adventurous. After a short wait and endless amount of good coffee, our food was delivered. The food looked so good that i forgot to take a picture. The delicious aroma hugged my nose and I dug right in. The food was well cooked and full of flavor. Others ordered the Chicken and waffles and it met high expectations, including the strange maple syrup-hot sauce combination. Prepaid for Thanksgiving dinner for four people. The turkey was good. The mashed potatoes and stuffing or in scoops, potatoes only had three scoops, the stuffing had four. We were supposed to get green bean casserole, instead we got green beans that were blanched, put them in the same pan as the potatoes and stuffing. I had to pull them out and further cook them. The stuffing and the potatoes were a disappointment as they were very moist, too moist. The macaroni and cheese, I could have made for my box and paid $10 for. We got one little roll per person, not homemade, just like the ones you get in the store for Thanksgiving.... The food was in nice containers, aluminum so they can be heated up in the oven. I should have gone with Bob Evans. Lesson learned. read more

Full menu all day long!!!! This place was pretty packed for breakfast but they turn their tables over quickly and everything was spotless. I'm a stickler for clean utensils and ours were spotless. This is such a great diner in the Indianapolis area. The staff was friendly, our waitress was very attentive and our food came out fast. I went on a week night, so there wasn't a wait or any line. I tried the turkey sandwich and soup of the day (potato). They have different specials all the time. My friend had a hamburger, and they also have gluten-free buns available which is nice. They also serve breakfast all day, and the breakfast options looked great. I'd definitely recommend!!! read more

We arrived about an hour prior to closing time and were seated right away. My husband ordered the grilled cheese sandwich with mashed potatoes and I had the fish and chips with fries and slaw for the sides. The fish was a little undercooked and the batter had an odd taste. The fries were very peppery. This is the third time we've dined here and it hasn't wowed us. We saw a lot of positive reviews so decided to give it another chance. I doubt we will return. read more
