Been here twice since its recent opening and have to say that Middletown is very fortunate to have this as part of its collection of Eateries. Part of a chain of approx 40 locations stretching from Florida to PA. Portions are large and quality is excellent. Can get a little crowded but they do take reservations. Extremely rude manager and staff. I had my puppy in a fully covered stroller and the manager made me remove him. Had the never to say leave him in the car and it's freezing outside. There are no signs to say no pets allowed. He stood over top of me until I moved which is intimidating and discriminatory as if I did a crime. My dog was not barking or exposed to anyone. I do not appreciate this treatment. It's not what he said but how he said it and the fact he hovered over me. I wonder if I were his race if I would have had to leave. read more

This was referred to me by a couple of people. My Husband and I ate there are one early evening. I had the chicken and waffles with the strawberry compound butter. Wasn't too sure about the strawberry butter but it was great! The chicken was fried to perfection, I had to ask the manager Joe how he cooked it. He was happy to stop and chat with us! Wow! This place is top notch from the moment you check in to the moment you leave. A real family feel with amazing food and incredible service. There is always a wait here. But so worth it. The decor is so homey and welcoming. The menu? A feast for the eyes and tummy. So hard to decide. We had a variety from breakfast to lunch and we all agreed, food was flavor and satisfying. We had the veggie omelet, Oscar omelet, cinnamon roll pancake and bacon cheeseburger with fries. My omelet came with a biscuit. A real, made-from-scratch biscuit. It also came with grits. Done to perfection. Dining out is more than just great food. It is about the total experience and our service was stellar. Gehad was pleasant, attentive and timely. In addition, the manager stopped by our table to check if all was ok and went on to engage in friendly, personable conversation. Genuinely happy we were there and hopes for our return. I visited the area and was looking for a good spot for breakfast or brunch food near my hotel. The restaurant was in a small shopping plaza but there was plenty of parking. There was a 35 minute wait on Saturday at 11:30am and we browsed the menu while we waited. There were plenty of people waiting along with us so I figured this must be a good choice. Once seated we placed our order and our food was delivered by a very friendly young lady within about a 10 minutes. I ordered the crab Benedict and my friend ordered the fried chicken and waffles. My Benedict had perfectly cooked poached eggs and the crab cake was good. The hash browns that came with it were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside just like I like it. My friend's chicken was a gorgeous crispy brown and came with 4 pcs of nicely seasoned chicken. The waffles were nice n fluffy were served with strawberry flavored butter and a spicy syrup for the chicken. We will definitely return as there were plenty of other options to choose. We pulled up to the parking lot and it was pretty full. As I approached the front doors I noticed people sitting outside fanning themselves as they waited to be seated. I was nervous, worried and filled with fear that my two year old would not be able to take that long of a wait and we'd be forced to dine at a fast food joint. The wait wasn't too bad. A nearby drug store gave the kids a chance to walk around and stay out of trouble. The wait line went rather quickly. The service was excellent. I've been here many times. Always got a seat right away - it does help that I enjoy sitting at the counter. The wait staff, cooks, and managers are very friendly. I've never had to wait very long for the food. The wait staff is good at getting me refills on my water. Haven't tried everything, but have tried a lot. My favorite is the Holi Davoli burger. Love the Bold City burger too. Other favs are the biscuits and gravy, the meatloaf, the huevos rancheros, and the grilled cheese - which I always and only have if the tomato bisque is available. Personally, I think it should come as grilled cheese with tomato soup. The only thing I haven't liked were the French fries. I get the onion rings with a side of Thousand Island dressing for just 50 cents more. Delicious. Overall, it's one of my favorite places to eat. I highly recommend it. read more

We visit the Newark DE area a few time per month from NJ. Decided to stop for breakfast one day. Now it's a must every time we visit. There's usually a small wait for a table so I used the 15 minutes or so to observe the operations. The quality of this place goes way beyond just the food. It's a well oiled machine. Staff is well trained and always very pleasant. Wait staff and food runners are well organized. Food is served piping hot with with minimal wait. It's fresh and never greasy as some diner food can be. Only problem is I tend to over order and never leave a morsel. It is delicious! No lines at register to pay as tab is settled at the table. This is my second time coming to this diner with my boyfriend. the first time we had such a pleasant experience. Our server was very friendly, amazing food with reasonable prices. We decided to come back, the food was still delicious. However, the environment wasn't pleasant at all. We sat at the table near the counter. And a man was screaming every 30 seconds which completely ruined our experience. He got in an argument with our server and other staff memevers because he was chairing at people being the counter, while screaming "I need a runner" very frequently. completely ruined our experience update - I emailed the manager afterwards and never received a response. We had breakfast this morning. Waiter was trying to wait on to many tables for his ability. Our food came before our coffee and water. Food was satisfactory- western omelet was more of a mushroom omelet very little of anything else if there was any. Other two meals were all right . Had to ask for ketchup and jelly three times and was brought to us after the food was cold. Sad because the restaurant wasn't that busy when we arrived. Our waiter was trying to grab tables.
