The first thing I do when I go to a restaurant is go to the bathroom to see how clean it is. If the bathroom is clean then the kitchen must be that way also. Great food and service. Excellent food and service. I had been to the Bradenton location a couple years before and loved the breakfast. I got lunch this time; the spicy/sweet chicken sandwich with fries and so did my sis. My grandma got the chicken salad on a croissant. The chicken portion was huge on both. I ended up having enough for 2 meals for only $10. The breading was crispy and the sauce delicious. Metro offers a great menu and serves breakfast all day long! The restaurant is always (every time I have been there) clean. The ice tea offers different flavors each day and a specials board that is full of cool choices. I love the Chicken and Waffles- large portion- but if you are not looking for left overs- they do offer 1/2 orders (you just need to ask the server). Justin is the managing partner and is often there checking in to be sure everyone is enjoying their meals. The customer service is exceptional and the food is consistently good. Had a terrific breakfast this morning before the lovebugs made their appearance. I sat on the patio to enjoy the weather which paired perfectly with my breakfast. Not much to see outside but the patio is big and comfy. I ordered croissant french toast, country sausage and coffee. Win. Win. Win. I planned on taking pics but as soon as my plate arrived I tucked in without hesitation, so please accept my apology. The French toast was perfect. I have pics of the leftovers that I'll share with you. You have to try it if you visit. It is the best I've eaten. I couldn't give 4 stars because although the staff is super nice and wonderful I had to ask for silverware and napkins after the food arrived. Stopped in because we had a 50% off coupon by joining their club. Had the steak salad with blue cheese it was very good. My wife had the chicken salad croissant and some fruit. Our server was great I wish I remembered his name. He filled up our drinks multiple time and even gave us an Arnold Palmer to go. I would definitely recommend the metro diner. This chain out of Jacksonville is one of the best in the state for breakfast and lunch. I have not tried the dinner items but I'm sure they are good. This is comfort food . Almost everything is good. I was a little disappointed that my hash browns came with seasoning on them. I do not recall them being over seasoned in the past. This time they were not good. They have excellent hash browns usually. Just ask for no seasoning unless you like them that way... Service was good. They have an outside patio. Nice people.... read more

The food in this diner is nothing like the diner's up North. It really needs a revamping. Hamburgers are good basic sandwiches are Fine but they don't have the many, many things we get up North. My wife and I stopped in for dinner this evening. We both had the fried chicken and waffles. The chicken was freshly made, super juicy, crispy and hot! The waffles were excellent. Our waitress, Dianna was very friendly and provided excellent service. We highly recommend this place for dinner.
