We vacuumed 4 times repeatedly - vacuum full every time and for the next few months after. We move out and find out more - pet urine everywhere! So for a year, we were living with this!? And now they want to charge us to replace this carpet and subfloor after they neglected to change it prior to our move-in. Save yourself a headache and look anywhere else. I've been living at Metropolis for about 2.5 years now and plan to continue to until I purchase a house. I've lived in multiple apartments in Orange County throughout the past 10+ years, specifically in Irvine and I have to say this is by far the best and my favorite. The amenities and layout of the apartment are why I initially signed the lease. The people who work here have definitely kept me here. Specifically Cheryle and Jerrad have been absolutely amazing. I wouldn't say there's much I need, but if and when I do, they are two of the most friendly and helpful people I've met. They somehow remember my name and the apartment number I'm in (which is crazy considering how many people live here) and always go above and beyond. I have a theory that there are multiple Jerrad's because I swear I see him everywhere always helping someone, he even found one of my packages that FedEx left at the wrong apartment and brought it to me. Cheryle has made it so easy anytime I need a service ticket or have a request and is always so sweet. Which brings me to Victor and his amazing maintenance team. Absolute best maintenance team there is, they show up immediately and have gone above and beyond multiple times. I've had so many issues in the past at other apartments which took forever to get resolved and costed an arm and a leg. They've never tried to charge me anything extra and have always fixed anything that comes up very quickly. They're great people too, always making me laugh and very personable. Obviously the amenities here knock any apartment in the area out of the park, and for all you get it's very well priced. Everything is always so clean (I see people cleaning every day). The gym, arcade, bowling alley, coffee room, and pool are all areas I've used often and any friends that have visited are always in awe. The walls seem to be built better here because I never really hear the neighbors. I've heard the people above me moving in and out, but that's mainly moving furniture or heavy items. Other than that, it hasn't been a problem. It's also a great location right by the 405 freeway, but it's also nestled in a nice spot and not right on the main street. There's also a food court and liquor store within a 5 minute walking distance which has come in handy. As much as I don't want to let the secret out, I have to say this is a hidden gem. I think they're almost at full capacity, but if you're lucky enough to snag an apartment then welcome! read more

I moved in here in October and it's been a great experience so far. I really love the amenities here (gym, clubhouse, bbq area, pool); they keep everything very clean! Natalie has always helped me out with everything since before I even moved in. She was very helpful communicative and always tried to find solutions for my problems. The only thing that frustrated me was the fact that they called me a day before my move-in date to tell me that my apartment wasn't ready for move in due to a technical problem and that I had to move in the week after. Fortunately, they were able to find me another unit with the same floor plan within a similar price range that was available for move in the day I intended to. Although at the time I felt extremely annoyed by the news, the leasing agents tried their very best to accommodate my needs by helping me move in on the day I intended to. Overall, I highly recommend this place to anyone who's looking for a pleasant place to live in Irvine. read more

In response to your comment, I have been reporting to the office during office hours. It is extremely unfortunate that the office staff did not record these reports as it happened. Like today, I had witnessed someone smoking and appreciate the immediate response of John who I watched came out immediately but wasn't able to see the tenant as the tenant noticed and walked away. This will be shown in the camera and I was there the whole time to witness this. I had to call in to verify my report was recorded and emailed for my reference. I really wish this property was smoke free but it really isn't all that it's said to be. Thanks for your response. read more

We have been living in Metropolis for almost 2 years now and have been super happy with the overall experience! Pros: - When we were looking for apartments it was really important to get one with large windows and great natural lighting. We looked pretty extensively in the area and went on a lot of tours and metropolis definitely offered the most space per money spent, plus large windows. We also liked their room configurations which didnt have as many oddly shaped, triangular, or broken up spaces - The front desk staff and repairmen have been awesome! With various different issues like missing mail, replacing parking stickers, etc they are always super friendly, prompt to respond, and very helpful. Shout out to Travis and Cheryle at the front and Noel the repairman for always being awesome! - The gym when it was open was literally the best gym i had ever seen in any apartment. Squat racks, machines, yoga studio, sauna, all sorts of equipment. Now during pandemic they have offered free membership to motion fitness, a premium fitness class super close to the apartmenr and that has been awesome! Ryan is really entertaining and his passion for what he does really comes through. Having done crossfit for a little and F45, motion fitness is similar in concept but more boutique. Get an awesome work out and also have a ton of fun! - The other amenities and common spaces are also super nice - resort style salt water pools, arcade, bowling alley, free printing in the computer lab, free coffee, dog wash in the basement!, EV charging for my wifes Tesla, parcel pending - The overall furnishing of the apartment is pretty nice and lots of cool touches like the NEST, skybell system, and controllable dehumidifiers. - Also sound control is awesome, we have literally never heard anything from any next door neighbors, only occasionally something from upstairs Cons: - EV charging hogging. Its less of an issue now but theres a tendency for some residents to leave their car at an EV spot. Metropolis does have a patrol security guard and 24 hour reporting system with an operator but their enforcement system for violators of their parking rules is kind of lax so theres not much disincentive for people who want to abuse the system. Its been less of an issue recently bc the overall number of EV vehicles has decreased - Minor point - they could probably put in just a few more speed bumps in the garage. There are a few people who drive through the twists of the garage like they are on the set of fast and furious. - Its less of an issue recently but there have been periods of similar issues where other residents act irresponsibly and it doesnt seem like metropolis has the teeth or ability to enforce their rules like a) dog owners not picking up after their dogs (maybe consider the pooprints system) b) people being lazy and leaving their garbage in front of their door, or on the ground of the garbage chute and not taking the extra three seconds to actually put in into the chute (not really sure what they could do to better enforce). Overall - love this place and the people here, its an amazing space for the value, great amenities, friendly staff, great location in Irvine, and has just been really comfortable to make a home in. I've been a tenant of Metropolis for almost 2 years now. My family and I have mostly enjoyed our stay. The staff are phenomenal and very attentive. If you've ever toured the complex, you'll undoubtedly be impressed by the gym. It's amazing! So much so, that I cancelled my gym membership. The bad part? It's been closed for several months due to COVID-19. It only opened briefly and then quickly closed again. I was growing increasingly frustrated because I'm paying rent, but I don't have access to the gym. Working out and living a healthy lifestyle is extremely important to me. So how did Metropolis help fill the void? They teamed up with Motion Fitness in Irvine. Just a 5 minute drive from the complex. ALL metropolis residents get free access to the Motion Fitness team workouts. And let me just say, they are amazing. Our group trainer at the last session was Ryan Hall. He's super personable, experienced, and keeps the mood intense, but fun. I'm so so impressed that Metropolis did the RIGHT thing and offered a FREE membership to all of its tenants. I'm absolutely taking advantage of this great opportunity. For this reason alone, I'm recruiting a ton of my friends, family, and co-workers to consider moving to Metropolis. My air vents are full of paint chips! Filters had to be installed on air vents to control PAINT CHIPS from being blown throughout my apartment. Toxic air quality!! Do not live here with small children or pets they will develop health problems!!! When the texture was applied to the walls during construction the air vents weren't taped off so the wall texture & paint got in the vents. Now whenever the air conditioning is turned on paint chips & other toxic dust enter my apartment. TERRIBLE CHEAP BUILDING MATERIALS & NON-UNION CONSTRUCTION CREWS. You can hear conversations through walls & ceilings. While walking through the halls you can hear everything going on inside of the units. read more

Empty promises, but little delivery. Since signing a lease at Metropolis there have been a lot of empty promises. The place has been getting busier as well, which makes it even worse that there have been no promises. The way they handle situations also leaves a lot to be desired. These are some of the things which I am disappointed about with the Metropolis. The team at Metropolis kind of sweeps things under the rug expecting us to not even remember. These are some of the issues that I have with the Metropolis. Where are the EV chargers in Phase 2 and 3. We've been promised that they were coming soon, but they don't look like they are even in plans yet. Phase 1 is getting busier, and sometimes there are no spots, but there doesn't seem to be any plans on putting them in the Phase 2 and 3 parking lots. Where's the Dog Wash? When we signed up we were promised a dog wash, but I still do not see it. While the place looks nice, you can tell it was built cheaply. For example if you spill anything on the countertop, it will stain almost instantly. I'm not sure where they got such cheap quality Quartz. The floors aren't truly level. The washer and drier shake violently if you load a little too much. I could go on and on. They had a pipe burst and we lost water for 2 days. This was the second time we lost water because of this. They even sent an email which they claimed tenants would receive a hotel reimbursement for this, but then a day later said they made a mistake. Maybe they should have contacted their insurance agent before claiming that. They came in my apartment several times without notice even though I have a dog. They should have notified me as the maintenance could have easily been planned. The Elevator is always broken. It's broken more often than not. Poor planning with fire alarm testing. We were told 9am, but then it would start going off at 8am. It was not intermittent like they said, and was on more often than not. They promised about 200 guest parking spots in Phase 2. Now they are saying that there are NONE. No guest parking. The guest parking spots in the first garage are always full. There is basically no guest parking now. Packages - You have to pay $20 to rent your mailbox. They don't even tell you that you have to pay a "1 time fee" when you sign up. Gym - There's people constantly dropping weights at 11pm, 10am, 2am, and nothing is ever done about that. I accidentally dropped a weight there and they were harassing me about that. It was 2PM, I wasn't disturbing anybody. They seem to be selective about what tenants they harass. I'm sure there are more problems with this place, but this is just off the top of my head. read more

Finished my lease at Metropolis a few weeks ago and have been meaning to write this review that is long overdue. I would have re-signed but had to go back to Detroit for business reasons, however, once back in California I will be coming back here. Ahmad, Melanie, and Dave are first-class all the way, and the building is a 5-star building, they're always in great moods and go above and beyond for any request, I always got treated like family here. The building is quiet, with a 6000 sqft gym, yoga room, sauna, that will meet any athletes needs, awesome salt water heated pool, top-notch cappuccino and other coffee style machine for use. Lots of iMacs for use, lounge areas, super cool neighbors and monthly get-togethers with great catered food. And we have our own bowling alley in the building! There's so much more about this great place, it's a must-see and one of the best in Irvine. read more

We're really loving our place so far at Metropolis. We looked at many places here in Irvine and decided to go with this place, even with a lot of the amenities not open at the moment they have some of the best ones and we were lucky enough to work with Cheryle who really helped us making a final decision on a place. She's been kind and very patient with us and has been great at following up with us anytime we have questions. If she wasn't available John from the leasing office has also been great at helping us and he even helped me find a package that I thought was lost because we couldn't find it even though it showed delivered. Once he found the package he called me right away. So glad we went with Metropolis, thanks to Cheryle and John really feel like we made the right choice. read more

I'm very disappointed with the Metropolis. Since I've moved in all I've heard are fire alarms and excuses. I was asked to write a yelp review so here is my review. They tell you about the fire alarms only one day in advance and pretend it's only for a day. That's nonsense, because every day they send a new email, and act like it's simply a reminder. What they should tell you is that the fire alarms will be going on from 8am to 6pm and will not stop for the entire day. There have also been several times with unplanned fire alarms and the fire department had to come like 4 times in a day. It's just ridiculous to deal with this. I am still waiting for the dog wash that was supposed to be here a year ago. As of now it looks like they still have no plans on putting in a dog wash, and not even owning up to the fact that it was promised to us. read more

Been living here for several years and I can honestly say that this is a great community. Even though C-19 limits access to common areas, Metropolis has gone out of its way to provide as much access to those areas as the local ordinances will allow - and you gotta love the fact that the gym has a large window in the front that is opened. I also like the fact that this is a very strict community so that if you complain about noise it gets taken seriously and you never feel like your opinion doesn't matter. read more

We have lived at Metropolis just shy of a year. Overall it has been a fairly solid experience. Move-in was extremely easy. Our two bedroom is very spacious and has a nice view. Zero maintenance issues so far. Management tries to be as attentive as possible; not always perfect but they've made continual improvements like adding additional parcel lockers and upping the cleaning in common areas. Amenities are really nice when they are available. The residents, for the most part, are pretty chill. Good mix of working professionals and some UCI students. We're currently planning on staying for a couple more years. Pretty comfortable here. read more

Writing this review with a heavy heart. We've been tenants at Metropolis since its beginning. We had a couple of apartments in building one then we moved to building two for two years. We loved Metropolis. First, our out of town employees were always so impressed with the property, so much so that they would always request to come to So Cal just for the apartment. The view was wonderful. The apartment, spacious. Most of all, the leasing office personnel are top tier professionals. The complex is one of the best in Irvine. The gym is impressive. Who has a bowling ally? Metropolis does. The pool lends itself to total relaxation or a fun afternoon. We found it very quiet and everyone is respectful of the environment. When COVID is over and businesses are allowed to travel freely, we will definitely seek Metropolis again. read more

In recent weeks the following security lapses have occured: 1. Fights in the street between the two buildings. 2. A car was stolen 3. A bicycle was stolen 4. An apartment was broken into 5. Trespassing by homeless people These are only the issues I am aware of. The contract states security will be provided and I see NO security presence whatsoever. The complex has responded to the Covid-19 crisis by protecting themselves ONLY. In my opinion - the complex has breached it's contract with every single resident. Class action anyone?? read more

This community gets 2 starts because of how it looks and thats only from the outside! Negatives: Everything is built cheaply they just look nice. The is no noise isolation whatsoever I hear our neighbors phone conversations, weights dropped from gym shakes the unit above and next to it and its open 24/7! Peopel walking in the hallway and talking you hear every single noise from anywhere. Management sucks they don't communicate anything to residents office is closed most of times. Good luck if you get locked out of your units takes someone hours to come open it and the Unite doors lock automatically so be careful! We had service requests for our unit no one showed up after 2 days we had contact them they said they would come no one showed up after talking to manager the 4th day someone finally came to fix washer. There is issues with the alarm system it goes off literally every other day which has traumatized our baby So glad to be moving out soon Don't be fooled by looks of this building read more
