Let's start. Pros: The apartment staff are genuinely super nice. I bet most people would agree on this one! Done. If you're looking for a place with free EV charging and a safe, comfy vibe, I'd steer clear of this dump. I'm seriously fed up, and here's why: Con 1: This apartment brags about its "free EV charging," but it's a total scam. Last winter, some of the chargers broke down, and they won't be fixed until freaking fall, if we're lucky. The few that actually work? Hogged by the same entitled jerks with multiple EVs who treat the chargers like their personal parking spots. Every night, people are circling around, desperate for a charge, but it's always the same cars plugged in. Complaining to management? Useless. All you get is a lame "move your car after charging" email, which the EV hoarders just laugh off. Free charging? Yeah, right--it's just a perk for the resident "electricity freeloaders." (You might want to abandon any fleeting hope of charging your EV on the 5th floor of Building 2100. There's this charming individual who seems to believe that yanking out someone else's charging cable is a badge of honor, all while preaching the gospel of "proper education" for those who dare leave their cars idle. Yet, this paragon of virtue conveniently forgets their own antics, polishing their image as a pristine EV charger with all the sincerity of a snake oil salesman. For months, they've been shamelessly swapping their handicap placard between their multiple cars, hogging the spot like it's their birthright. And don't bother complaining to management--this issue's as untouchable as royalty. Honestly, with 3 EVs and an ego that could use a full reset back to Pre-Kindergarten school manners, they must own this property to act this entitled.) Con 2: The whole place reeks like an ashtray mixed with a weed dispensary. Corridors, stairwells, even the parking lot--cigarette and marijuana smoke everywhere. It's so bad you can't even open a window without choking. Oh, and the dog pee stench? It's like a bonus layer of gross. Complain about it? Good luck. Management just sends a half-assed "don't smoke" email to everyone and calls it a day. Con 3: Check Reddit, and you'll see the horror stories. Park your car overnight, and by morning, your tires are gone. Poof. Stolen. Security? Cameras? Doesn't matter. Your tires will still vanish, and somehow, it's your fault for parking there. What's the point of the gated lot if it's open season for thieves? The absolute worst is the first con. Free EV charging? Don't fall for it. I've been here less than 2 years, and I can count on one hand how many times I've actually used the chargers. Now I'm sneaking off to Tesla Superchargers like some kind of fugitive, dodging the glares of the charger-hogging vultures who swap their cars like it's a game. Your choice really matters. read more

I currently live here at Metropolis. Living here has been a very positive experience and I would recommend anyone looking in this price range to live here. See Ahmad or Melanie in leasing as they are both very amazing and professional and personable. They have been like concierges at a fancy hotel. Even after living here now in my second year they both constantly seek to make sure we are happy, which is different from other buildings where once they have you they no longer try to keep you through excellent service. I wouldnt recommend Natalya, ask for Ahmad or Melanie specifically. The amenities here are great. The pool is straight out of a fancy resort with very comfortable chairs and cabanas. The bowling alley we dont use enough but its very easy to reserve a lane and play. The game room is a lot of fun as well. The gym here is the best gym that I have ever seen available in any apartment complex. It isnt a standard ceiling, 2 treadmill and one machine gym. It is two story ceiling with ~7 treadmills and lots of proper weight lifting equipment for bench presses and squats. The gym offers LOTS of free classes and the lady who works at the front desk of the gym is always a ray of sunshine. The building is half young professionals and half trustfund babies in college from China. Everyone is nice. Driving through the parking garage is like driving through an upscale car show. I have shopped around a lot looking for apartments before settling on Metropolis and I can definitely say you are getting an amazing deal here, if you can afford it. We will likely leave soon but only because we were stretching our budget to have fun for two years. But what you get for the price is very great here. Cons/tips: 1)There are units that are in the corners of the building that often dont go filled because the layout isnt the best and there isnt a lot of natural light. Always try for a loft if you can get one but at this point I think you have to be on a waiting list. Perhaps you can negotiate for a lower deal on the corner apartments. 2) The maintenance crew is incredibly professional and personable. However getting them to fix things is difficult, not due to them but I guess due to the maintenance request website. I often dont get help within a timely manner and for the last 5 requests I have just fixed the issue myself because fortunately I am handy and can troubleshoot issues. The head maintenance guy is great and all of his employees are great. Love the team! 3) We get a great breeze, when we dont have weed floating into the windows. If you love weed you'll love it here as they dont seem to crack down on the smoking even though the issue has been brought up frequently. Especially if you live on the shopping center parking lot side where someone in the building tokes up every evening and all weekend. read more

Welcome to the Irvine ghetto with the worst management and customer service. This used to be a good place to live, but it has started to get very bad lately. Irvine police is constantly here due to fights and the place becoming a total dump. You will casually encounter people fighting and loudly arguing at random times of the day, but especially at night. Every day and night is different here and you should expect to experience fights, loud people/music and dogs barking from their patio or balcony. This place is in an industrial area so homeless people are also starting to venture inside the property. You would see them here and there in the parking lot before, but now you see them wondering around inside the property. It's also supposed to be a non-smoking complex, but many people smoke and management expects you to do their job by inspecting and reporting everything that happens in the premises and even then, nothing is resolved. They also implement a bunch of rules and they are the first ones to break them. My neighbors have also reported many issues and the careless office reps. do nothing to fix anything that happens around here. I have read may of their responses to the other bad reviews on here and I just have to say that it's funny how their answer is always "Customer service is our priority". Well believe it or not, this is nothing but BS from them because all they do from 8-5 is sit on their behinds and do nothing to help fix any of the many issues or complaints. This place needs a new management ASAP or else it will become more ghetto than what it already is. I don't understand how a company like this hires this type of unprofessional and unskilled employees to be managing a property that promises a luxury living environment. My recommendation is that for the price that you will pay here, you are well better off going somewhere else where your rent money is justified with a good living experience and customer service. read more

PLEASE READ BEFORE MOVING HERE!!!!!!!!! MANAGAMENT AND LEASING STAFF IS TERRIBLE AND DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOU!!!! The worst in the leasing office is Eloise. I mentioned in person to her that I'll be including her name in my reviews and she told me I was "harassing" her. I've been addressing the same issues repeatedly for 2 years but the leasing office will either lie or give you the corporate run around and tell you "we have maintenance staff that walks around the property to clean up daily," meanwhile there is dog piss in the elevator or on the landing just about every morning and if not it'll be there later that day. They'll also tell you "this must be a high traffic area, we'll have someone check it each morning." Maintenance worker will check and clean it for 2-3 days then they simply stop and the dog piss continues to be left there unless it's reported to leasing office. As a resident you're expected to babysit grown adults and the leasing staff. The trash room is a disaster every time I go in there no matter what time of day. 4 am, 1 pm, 7 pm, 11 pm, always a pigsty with trash all over the place as shown in multiple photos. Residents will dump their bulk trash in the parking garage every single day instead of going to the trash room. One day there was so much trash and cardboard boxes that weren't broken down that I heard a maintenance worker SIGH out loud while he was cleaning it as I was walking to my car. I felt so bad for the guy. He shouldn't have to clean up after slobs like that. With the amount of money that residents pay to live here, none of this should be going on. Absolutely disgusting. If I could give this place zero stars I would. There is someone's dog that keeps peeing by the elevator every other day but the owner doesn't clean it up. I've seen some of the same dog pee stains sit there uncleaned for three weeks until I finally called the leasing office to have them clean it. They don't clean unless you tell them to. I've called the leasing office every other day recently to be on them about this and they'll flat out lie to you and say they have a maintenance staff member that walks around the property daily to clean. Meanwhile, they send a member of the maintenance staff every single morning at 6:00 am to mop the leasing office, and the outside pool area because they know that's what new renters will mostly see. They'll send someone to mop OUTSIDE by the pool in the morning , but not inside an elevator.... or on a floor with an on going issue???? I've seen dog pee stains in the elevator sit there for a week at a time, meanwhile Eloise will have the audacity to tell you that they "clean the elevator every two hours." I called the leasing office one time and notified them about two stains that have been sitting there and Travis the manager gave me the corporate run around as usual and chose to do nothing. The same two pee stains were there the next day. Also, make sure to note 95% of their good reviews are from maintenance appointments. They hand you a card and ask you to leave them a review to offset all the bad reviews. Don't move here. Worst management I've ever dealt with and they don't care about their tenants. read more

I've lived here for almost 6 months and I agree with all of the other 5 star reviews. This is a great place to live. Let me be more specific: this is the best place in which I've ever lived and I can't imagine a better apartment community. As others have mentioned, the staff are fantastic, responsive, professional, and helpful. They are stars, and work very hard to take care of their residents. Everything is modern; by this, I mean that there are electrical outlets everywhere in my apartment. The appliances are first-rate. Ceiling fans in the bedrooms and the loft. The bedrooms have blackout curtains that take out 99% of the light. The modern design extends to the common areas and the gym. Location: You can walk to a Ralph's and CVS and a car wash and a bunch of very nice restaurants. There is a Shell station nearby. I've walked to John Wayne Airport from here. There is a strip mall immediately next door with a food court including a Baja Fresh. It's near the 405 but I can't hear the 405 traffic noise. Oh yeah, and with respect to noise: I have found it very quiet here but my apartment faces the inside and not the road. I can hear the muffled sounds of the airplanes landing in the morning but it doesn't bother me personally. Parking is easy and spacious (lots of room between spaces) and secure. Definitely consider Metropolis when you're looking for a luxury apartment complex in OC! read more

Really like my place. The apartment is terrific with excellent materials and finishes. Highlights include Whirlpool stainless steel appliances, stylish ceramic backsplash and solid cabinetry in the kitchen; upscale touches such as HE washer & dryer, Moen/Kohler fixtures, and hardwood style flooring rounding out the interior. The building exterior looks stylish with metals, stucco and colors blending in a pleasant aesthetic (unlike the nearby Camden hodgepodge). Some of the amenities I've sampled include the coffee bar, TV lounge and gym. i tried the HITT/ABS classes and felt a definite (good) burn afterwards. I understand the Bowling Alley is open and the pool will be operational soon... can't wait. The office team is top-notch. Ahmad, Terry, Melanie, Natalia & Craig have been great at every encounter. They're empathic, friendly, professional and above all have a sincere aptitude for customer service. They're always quick to assist, resolving any issue and assuring satisfaction. Maintenance has their work cut out because of continuing construction, but they've been responsive and indulgent, though I've yet to call them for anything major. Overall, a Super Community worthy of Kryptonians. UPDATE 1/11/18: Dave from maintenance swung by and helped mount my TV up on the wall. He was super helpful and professional. Metropolis is a beautiful construction. We had the opportunity to tour as they are completing the project and so far the details to all they are doing is amazing and modern. From the outside aesthetics to the interior decorating and design, nothing compares to this in Irvine at the moment. I want to give special thanks to the team for their excellent costumer service. This place deserves 0 stars. I've been bringing up this ongoing issue to the leasing office for approximately 7-8 months. Everybody in the leasing office will lie straight to your face and tell you that maintenance goes around and cleans every 2 hours of the day, meanwhile I'll see dried up pee outside my elevator for weeks at a time. They'll also lie and tell you they receive a photo each morning from maintenance meanwhile dog pee will still be there. I'll be posting more reviews with dates included in the photos to poke holes in their corporate lies they choose to tell me. PS: If you look at the positive reviews, the majority of them have to do with maintenance fixing issues inside apartments. They hand out cards at the end of each maintenance appointment and ask you to leave them a good review. They do this so they can offset all of the bad reviews posted to keep their ratings higher. If you want to leave a maintenance staff member a positive review, bring it to the leasing office! No need to post it on yelp or google reviews to enable this. read more

This is probably my first ever review I have ever made in my life. The hospitality that was given to me when I first stepped foot into the leasing office was absolutely amazing. They were not in a rush to throw prices at me or be a typical sales person. This is what shocked me the most. Instead the leasing agent Ahmad, talked and greeted me like a friend would. Asked me how my day was, and if I wanted anything to drink before even sitting me down. He also asked me for all the things I enjoy doing as well as my lifestyle and preferences when it comes to living situations. This was so he could tailor the best accommodating available unit to my needs. What blew my mind was not only did he go ahead and get the perfect unit for me but also went ahead and showed me all of my favorite places to eat around the area and tips to getting to certain places during rush hour. Metropolis has more class than any other apartments that I have ever leased. They aren't just leasing agents, they're your friends. Looking forward to updating this after my lease stay! read more

Simply spectacular!! I can honestly say moving from Essex Skyline to Metropolis was the best living decision I've made. Normally once you're in a complex, you feel like nothing but a number. But everyone here, especially my leasing agent Amad have been nothing short of amazing. He and Joseph, the property manager, go out of their way to always be there for me. They genuinely make me feel welcome every single day and handle ANY concern immediately. David the service manager makes sure what few concerns I've had, are handled with care and the utmost courtesy to myself and my girlfriend. The amenities are seriously top notch! And the gym..... THE GYM here rivals the Equinox down the street. Made dumping my membership there an easy call! Seriously could not be happier about my entire experience! As one of the first move-ins after they opened, I'll be sure to resign with Amad in the coming months! read more

I came to this particular apartment complex 6 times over the last year because It was hard for me to decide where I wanted to live. I can honestly say the #1 thing that sold me was the way I was treated every time I came. I have now lived here for 2 days and I am loving every minute of it. The amenities they offer are better than most hotels in Las Vegas! The pool is amazing, the arcade and the bowling arena are ! And the fitness center??!!!! Let's just say it is legit !!! Everything you need is right in the Metropolis apartments. If you're looking to live in the Irvine area, look no further this is the place to be. Stay away from this place. It sure does look nice on pictures and on tour when their lazy staff feel like getting up from their desk, but it's cheap construction with beat-up appliances, dirty and overpainted cabinets, broken tiles in the restroom and window shades that break easily. Water pressure is also not the best and since the property is pet friendly, the hallways are a bit smelly and urine stained. It's also literally a college frat party house with the worst customer service from all of their staff and incompetent management team who will literally do nothing to help you and laugh in your face about the problems you call about. Bad reviews about this place are no lies and I wonder if the owners are aware of how these people are running their business. I can't wait until my lease is up soon so that I can move out and put this bad experience behind me. read more

We moved into Metropolis about a week ago. The complex is modern with a lot of community amenities (including a spa), and the team organizes wonderful complimentary resident events. Our unit includes top of the line appliances (Whirlpool, including a full-size W/D). Details are modern and functional: nest thermostat, SkyBell HD, bathroom dehumidifier, and a cooling fan in the W/D closet. The trash chute is easily accessible, well-lit, and clean. The whole complex is very quiet. I especially appreciate that FedEx and UPS deliver packages directly to my door (I live on an upper floor). Last but not least, the maintenance crew is wonderful. We had a minor issue with our dishwasher, and Efrain and Javier stopped by promptly to resolve. The location is convenient to everything in the area. So far so good. read more

I've been living here for over two months and I find that I love it MORE and MORE. I was skeptical about luxury apartments because there usually is something wrong, but I haven't found anything bad here. I love the amenities, the pool is beautiful and quiet, I spend a lot of time here reading or working. The apartments are quiet, I don't hear anyone. Everything is very clean and well maintained, parking is so easy and I feel very safe here. Ahmad in the leasing office was so easy to work with, really understood what was important to me and was really accommodating. He's the best at customer service! Despite some kinks with the new building, I've had an amazing experience working with Melanie and David. Melanie is energetic and very responsive to each and every concern. We've worked with her the mass majority of our time as tenants. When relocating from one building to another, she made our transition seamless. David is amazing! Very helpful, knowledgeable and understanding. I don't think we've waited more than an hour for him to address our concerns. When we initially moved in, David remedied every item that needed attention within the first few days. All in all, we've had a great experience at Metropolis. read more
