A super cool cafe with so many different options. Food, drinks, snacks and dessert. I stopped in for coffee but stumbled upon their Turkish delight. Staff is nice and it's really chill inside the cafe.

Delicious! Avocado toast with scrambled eggs and fruit. I could eat this everyday!

Thanks to Yelp for this great recommendation! Metropolitan Coffee isn't quite hidden, but what a gem! Loved my avocado toast with scrambled eggs and fruit--plus yummy latte. Nice SF day with people enjoying coffees outside--charming!

Only got a bagel and bf got avocado toast. Staff was nice and the restaurant was clean and wall kept. I was very disappointed with my bagel breakfast sandwich, though. I would absolutely not recommend. Giving an extra star because my boyfriend's toast seemed decent and they have a hearty menu.

For being such a small interior, they have so much seating (and dubai chocolate???) I've never seen a cafe with such good pastry options along with their coffee! Although I would give my vanilla latte a 5/10, the baklava was a 1000/10, and fully made up for it! The hot chocolate my friend got was also only ok, the speed of this little shop and the warmth inside still made it a great stop while walking around in SF!

Stop charging credit card fee for people that pay cash I believe it is not legal, even the service and the food is good I am not coming back until they stop that I update my review fee has been returned and I am satisfied, I will keep shopping there , thank for fixing that problem

I ordered an iced Americano (my first time trying it iced instead of hot) along with a bear claw pastry. The coffee was strong and smooth, with just the right amount of ice. I added a little half-and-half since they didn't have whole milk, and it balanced perfectly. The bear claw was fresh, flaky, and not too big or small--just right. Bear claws are one of my favorite pastries, and this one hit the spot. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was calm, with a few students working quietly in the corner. There's even a TV playing, though it wasn't distracting--more background than anything. It's the kind of place where you can relax with your phone, do a little work, or just enjoy a coffee and pastry. Metropolitan Café also has a good selection of sandwiches and other options, but I kept it simple this time. For a quick bite or coffee stop on Market Street, this place is a solid choice. Two thumbs up from me.

A reliable favorite ! I've been here multiple times after getting off bart downtown and it's always great. Today I got a carrot juice which is just carrots that they juice haha it's very fresh and delish (picture was taken after I drank some. they fill it to the very top)

A cozy place to grab a coffee and some breakfast. Plenty of table space for your laptop if you need to get some work done and really great service.

Quaint Turkish inspired cafe in the middle of the action in downtown SF. A quick 5 min walk from the Marriott Marquis next door - stopped in for a Turkish delight and a cup of brew with an espresso shot. Vibrant space with crepes, many drinks, American and middle eastern pastries. Would love to spend a slow morning here next time I'm in the area!

Everything was so good and such an amazing selection of baklava and other yummy treats! Coffee was amazing and the sandwich was even better. Amazing buttery crumbling croissant yummy. The staff were super friendly and service and prices were great! Lots of indoor and outdoor seating and located right on market street easily accessible! Great visit glad we came here!

    Chicken Pesto Provolone Panini

A pretty good selection of sandwiches and coffee to choose from. I ordered a chicken Pesto provolone panini sandwich and nitro cold brew (with ice and oat milk) for lunch. Cold Brew was a pretty nice pick me up which wasn't too strong and the panini sandwich was pretty solid. loved the melted cheese with the chicken and the bread was toasted pretty nice without being burnt. Prices are fair considering this spot is located downtown and within a fairly touristy area.

Iced Matcha Latte, Caramel Macchiato, Deluxe Roast Beef & Cheddar Cheese, BLT

The food was so delicious! We got two sandwiches, baklava, and 2 drinks. We were traveling from out of town and so I always expect things to be on the pricier side in the city but I think everything was at a very realistic price point (5 items for $50). The cashier was very nice and chatted with us about some of the pastries/sweets they had. The cafe itself was clean and very cute. We have a bakery similar to this one in our hometown, so it was nice finding a place that reminded us of a staple in our lives. We will definitely be back!

It seems like there's also an upstairs but did not get the chance to check it out. I got an iced latte with their almond macadamia milk, and they're also so nice to do complimentary cold brew! So we got an extra drink for free. Trying the iced latte, it was pretty disappointing lol. I thought it would be similar to like a Hawaiian style latte with macadamia milk, but it was a lot lighter than I thought. It was definitely very nutty, but it also just tasted like water down latte. Honestly not much going on with the drink, but it does taste lighter in general. Crazy have to pay $1.50 more to add on this milk. Overall, its alright. I do like the natural lighting coming into the shop, but nothing too special.

We chose this large city location thanks to easy parking and a convenient stop on our drive. It was a beautiful morning, which was easy to enjoy thanks to the high ceilings, big glass windows, and open main door. The first floor has a central counter to order food and drinks; the glass cabinet has a bunch of rotating pastries from a local bakery. They have restrooms and a merchandise area here too. At the front are counter seats along the front window, and also a horseshoe that looks into the roasting area, which is a great place to smell the beans. There's an upstairs loft that overlooks the cafe below, also with a test kitchen area and offices across to the front. They definitely have a larger business going on, and I can see why it's so popular. We ordered a latte, iced coffee, and various pastries to start our day. Prices were reasonable for the quality. All the baristas were friendly and fast to help.

Coffee was solid across the board. Grabbed an iced americano and it did what it needed to do. Staff were friendly too, happy to chat and talk me through their menu and answer any questions I had. Where Sightglass lost points for me: -Fire up that hot spot, because there's no wifi. -My husband's breakfast sandwich was cold in the middle. -Worst of all... paper straws. I know, dramatic, but I want to enjoy my coffee without the inevitable ticking time bomb of a straw progressively getting more and more soggy with every sip.

But I have to praise that they do work fast and service is great. Indoor seating will be a tiny wait but is worth because the inside is so lovely, more like a Japanese tea room rather than some cafes that lean towards the clean modern usually all white interior look. We got seated at this cute little tea area almost felt like a sushi bar vibe. I was impressed that I could see that they had different water kettles labeled with appropriate temperatures for brewing their matcha. So I ordered for my date and me: matcha latte, matcha pie, and the cookie trio. Matcha latte was good! Nothing too crazy but still really good, I'm more of a hojicha person nowadays but solid drink and beautiful textured milk. The PIE! This is their best dessert and for good reason. Citrusy, but not terribly sweet, rich yet still has the subtle matcha flavor. I could see potential for a fall forward hojicha version of their pie one day. $10 for a slice but worth to share Cookie trio was a good pick too. My favorite was probably the Kinako oatmeal raisin cookie and I think would pair well with any warm drink. Matcha white chocolate cookie was not too bad, I think it benefited a lot from the bit of sea salt on top. The Hojicha chocolate walnut cookie was my second favorite! I don't see many hojicha desserts happening yet in matcha cafes so this cookie was a delight to have and honestly I've gotta try making my own. So warm but not too dominated by the chocolate. I wanna come back because they've got a matcha chestnut cake I wanna try next, just stellar for the desserts

The fish was cooked to perfection and didn't smell fishy if you know what I mean. The sando was prepared to perfection and would accommodate even the pickiest eaters. The pork was crispy and the sauce was delicious. - Japanese Gozen 24 Originally placed my order and saw this on the menu so I had to try it. The miso soup with edmame rice was delicious. Key call outs were unagi egg, salmon sashimi + roe, and the pickled cucumber. The egg plant was delicious considering I don't typically like that, here it was flavorful and packs a punch. - Rose Matcha Latte 6.75 You could tell the matcha was ceremonial grade and prepared with care. If your usual is a rose milk tea, you have to try this! I loved the rose garnish on top for extra pizazz! - Strawberry Latte + Hojicha 7.50 The hojicha was smooth and complimented the strawberry at the bottom. The strawberry syrup at the bottom was clearly prepared fresh and was strained beautifully, no bizarre lumps of strawberry randomly that you get from other places. The bathroom was decently clean. The flow is you order at the kiosk get a number and find a seat where the food will be sent to your table. If you are on work lunch, you can order ahead and they have a take out window! Overall the food AND drinks are 5 stars.
