we usually really like this place but today we placed an order for pick up and got there on time. someone came up to us and confirmed our name and then never came back in the curbside pickup. we waited for atleast 30 minutes and had to call the manager and within a minute we had our food. yes it was cold because it was waiting outside for us, forgotten about. we were fine with waiting a bit since it seemed busy but the girl that came up to us helped her friend first who pulled in 15 min after us. they had a good ol conversation with their friend Lauren in the curbside while we waited some more. after the drive home, also knowing the pizza was going to need to be re heated in the oven, we got home to find the orders of wings were not cooked. they were actually quite pink inside and none of us felt comfortable eating them. read more

Blast from the past and in the past is where it should have stayed. Came in last night and ordered tots and a pizza. The tot sauce was so chunky we couldn't eat it. Ordered the Rancho Relaxo-was hoping for it to be like it was back in the day. This pizza was so dry we had to ask for extra ranch on the side (honestly don't even think there was any on it), hardly any bacon, and the chicken was gray. We came here with some friends after a hike and going to a winery and a brewery(about a month ago). The atmosphere seemed very interesting. They had some really good food. Mews Tavern is a fun and interesting establishment with good food and an extremely impressive drink selection that anyone can enjoy... if you're lucky enough to not be kicked out by their impatient and aggressive bouncer. Upon visiting Mews for the second time last week, my friend and I were confronted by a bouncer and accused of having fake IDs. Though false, it wasn't the accusation that was so alarming, but rather the bouncer's rude and impatient demeanor. He presented us with a liability form for us to sign that would protect them from any fines that they could incur for selling to anyone underage. Of course, when asked to sign anything I prefer to understand the entirety of the agreement. But when presented with questions about the form, he became increasingly angry and repeatedly stated that we either had to sign or get out. We understood that quite clearly, but simply wanted more information before we made our decision. The bouncer refused to listen to our questions, and after several more minutes he elected to not-so-politely ask us to leave. So to any future patrons of Mews, make sure to not use a fake ID. But also don't use a real ID because that won't work either. And definitely don't voice any concerns or questions to their bouncers unless you wish to be quickly removed. read more

Right up front, I'm a big fan of The Mews, there are very few bars as good as this one. Great selection of beer on tap, with fresh new choices every time I step in. But I stopped eating here a couple of years back. It wasn't long ago that the big dining room was a tented in area of sidewalk, where a burger and fries before or after drinks on the picnic tables was a requirement. The food was good, and cheap, and simple. You can hardly recognize the place now, it's a family restaurant. And the nicer the inside gets, and the bigger the menu gets, the more it disappoints. You can eat like this anywhere. There's an Applebees on every corner, heck there's one in Wakefield now. It's just not what I'm looking for. So turn the corner, and come hang out in the bar. It may take a bit before a seat opens up. Theres still quite a few of us that aren't letting go. read more

Having grown up in the area Mews was always the place to be. Well before being able to drink there was still an appeal, the love only magnified after turning 21. It's always busy on the weekends from lunch time to after dinner drinks. I love the decor and the different areas to eat. I've never had a dish here I didn't like. The hamburgers are super juicy. I've been coming to the Mews since 1992 when I was college and today it's better than ever. It's such a fun atmosphere. It's well run and it just gives off that feeling of this is the place to be. I would always think drinks first here but the food is fantastic. The wings are top notch, the pizza is great and the CMBC sandwich is out of this world. The beer selection is legendary and they get added points for doing it right during the pandemic. When other places floundered, they were on their game from the jump. read more

The good: 1. The beer selection. 69 beers on tap, including Arrogant Bastard. Any East Coast bar that has a Stone Brewery beer on tap has to be at least 4 stars. 2. The beer specials. While only 3 were on special, they were all quality beers, and a fairly good value (3-3.50 for a pint). 3. The (female) bartenders. I think whoever is in charge of hiring the women at this bar has the same taste in women as me. The bad: 1. The parking lot is a shit show. 2. The big ass red sox and shamrock above the tavern. Ah, the Mews. Solid food, great beer, tasty margaritas, and friendly service. When I'm in the 'Gansett area I know I am bound to head over to the Mews at some point for a drink and some pub grub. It's a pretty big place and easy to get lost in. Room after room of bar/restaurant seating. I usually end up in the money room. There are sixty nine beers on draft, so I would recommend going with a fight/rack to try four of your choosing. If you are either not in to beer or are watching your girlish (or boyish) figure, I would highly urge you to try their low cal grapefruit margarita. Delicious, refreshing fresh squeezed grapefruit juice, tequila and a salted rim. Perfect post beach drink. Food wise it is mostly your typical bar food but with a twist. Their pizza is fantastic, but I'm not a fan of the fact that their spinach is sauteed (I prefer mine fresh not mushy) so I will leave that off my next pie. I love their veggie pizza or their make your own . They also have a huge menu of burgers, calzones, Mexican dishes, sandwiches, and so on. There is most certainly something for the whole family. It's all pretty damn tasty so you may have trouble making up your mind. I have always had a good time at the Mews and agree with other Rhode Islander's that it is a place that you have to check out at least once when you are visiting Southern RI. read more

The Mews Happy Hour is hard to beat especially for college students. The atmosphere is welcoming and fun. There's always a long wait and once you try the food you can taste why. Here are a few more reasons why the Mews is bangin': -Happy Hour: great prices on drinks and good food -GREAT beer selection -During the fall, they have a pumpkin cider with a brown sugar cinnamon rim YUM -Their burgers are one of the best menu items in my opinion and always consistent -They used to have a really good chopped salad -Their menu always seems to change slightly (new delicious things to try) -The dollars all over the dollar bar bring me back to my travels to Ireland -The Pink Panther calzone is unreal -The staff is always super friendly and very attentive -Moderate and fair pricing I'll always keep going back to the Mews. There wasn't anything special about this restaurant. Had some charm but nothing stood out. Our waitress was pleasant but not very attentive. We were a party of 7 in a booth with not a lot of space. Had a few rounds of drinks and appetizers and needed to ask her to take empty bottles and plates away. The food was average- nothing special. We really like coming here! The food is consistently good and we always have great service. A favorite app is the truffle tots... I wonder if my 8 year old knew what truffles were he would still devour them? More for me? Most recently we also tried the fried pickles which were a crispy, salty treat. I had the cubano quesadilla - an insanely delicious combination of ham, pulled pork with melted swiss and the required mustard and pickles. I actually enjoy drinking at the dollar bar. The upstairs bar has a great ambiance to also. However, everytime I eat here, something goes wrong. It's like a clock ticking down to my impending doom. Plus side: the beer selection in itself is phenomenal and makes for a great time. Down side: the food is terrible. Nothing was seasoned. Having worked in the restaurant industry myself it's so hard to see. The onion rings you could tell had sat in a basket for awhile and they dropped them to heat them up before serving them. They were hollow crackers of onion rings. The "fried chicken" that went on the chicken sandwich was a chicken tender that was treated the same as the onion rings. Inedible. 10/10 would NOT recommend. A really charming, sort of out of the way tavern to try. All of the food is fantastic and the servers are all friendly and personable. We went f or lunch with a group of 7 people, including two children under the age of 12 and had no problems finding something for everybody to eat. I had the chicken parmesan grinder which was superb, and my mother had the grilled cheese and French onion soup special and it was excellent. I'll start by saying I've loved Mew's for a very long time. As a former local, my family and I used to regularly come here to eat and also order pizza to go a few times a month. The food and atmosphere was great. BUT, last time I was in the area with my family, we were literally accosted by our bartender, Katie, for our entire experience. She was extremely rude to everyone I was with, and we also saw her YELLING at the top of her lungs at other people at the bar. Our drinks were awful and our food was served cold. I'll definitely give this place another shot- really hope the employees aren't abrasive to the patrons for no reason next time though. read more

This food is horrible my burger taste like raw meat loaf the waiter hasn't refilled a single one of our 5 drinks and my mother's Rubin was horrible and full of fat. Most of our food was horrible, except the clam chowder, wings, and French onion soup . The honey hot wings are great though. Stay away from all of the specialty burgers their horrible. The manager was very nice and helpful they removed the Rubin. Although We got charged a lot extra for stuff like the gave us blue cheese when we asked for ranch and then we asked for the ranch we ordered and the charged us for the ranch. Basically this place has gone very down hill and is horrible. Oh and also the bathroom is very gross. This place is horrible please do not go. All in all this place is great, great food, amazing drink selection, friendly staff. Unfortunately on my 3rd visit with my family we had alot of issues. They got my mother's drink wrong which can be a common mistake so wasn't fazed by that. We ordered our appetizers which was amazing and then Ordered our entree. I say about 20 minutes later our surver asked if we wanted our check. But we still haven't received our main course. They left and we waited a few noticing everyone else was getting their food so at that point we knew they forgot to put in our orders. The staff came by to occasionally ask if we want drinks or to clean off the table as you do but still no food. Or server came back again and said they will talk to the kitchen and see what's up. By this point we waited close to an hour for our food and was never told anything. Nobody came by apologizing saying they messed up, nobody saying if the kitchen was basked up. We asked someone if they forgot about us and the gentlemen just awkwardly smiled and didn't say anything and walked away. By the time we got our food we just wanted to leave. Got the check and I would assume our server would of apologized or comp some items or a discount but nothing. Just acted like nothing happen. Now I didn't want to get the management involved because being a server myself for many years I didn't want to get our server in trouble or make a scene or wanted everything free. Just recognition that they made a mistake would of been great and would of been understandings because nobody is perfect. So all and all any other time this place is 5 stars but that day 2 read more

The tavern's divided into several different restaurants/bars inside and you can pick the atmosphere you like the best.
