I like to refer to this place as "the vampire's cave" as they only have two tiny windows that are tightly shut so that no natural light reaches the inside. It was ok but I'm not going to lie, I wasn't impressed. They do have a few Vegetarian options however Vegetarians beware some of these come covered in their meat sauce. Usually this place is really good but today was a different story. Had a table of 9 for lunch and was seated just fine. Free chips and salsa is always good...unless it's stale! Yup, all of the chips they brought out was stale, as well as a coworkers taco shell of her taco salad. How is that even possible?!? Drinks we're refilled once...as we were getting our checks. :/ And one coworker got a mysterious tasting sweet tea...which was not pleasant. Mexico Real is located on McCart near I-20. This restaurant is over 18 years old and I don't think has been updated since. The booth seats have tears in them and the lighting is very dim. I've had the Bistec Ranchero, Martha's platter, and the Pollo A La Parilla here. The service is quick. They get your food out in a timely manner. It's pretty cheap as well. The salsa is okay. A little tomatoey for my liking though. Although it has it's perks like quick service and it's cheap, the food is bland though. It has potential, but no flavor in any of the dishes I tried. Not sure if I would be back here. I've dined here 5 times and it doesn't improve with the blandness. Hell, I've given Mimi's 10 tries though so who knows? I may be back. read more

We used groupon to try out this place. We will come back to this place. I had the Mexican plate. The cheese enchilada and tamala were good. My wife had the Chili Relleno. We both agreed that for the price this was one of the better Chili Rellenos we have had. In my opinion the chips were a little stale ... this may have been because we were eating at 3:00 in the afternoon. (My wife did think the chips were stale so it may have just been me.) Really yummy. It's a strip mall next to Jamestic- yes Jamestic liquor. Used to be a Majestic liquor store. The food is good, beer is cold, along with warm chips and great salsa- I am not sure it gets much better! Hubby has the San Antonio Nachos and I get the chimichanga plate. This restaurant is located in a business plaza, thus the reason for lack of ambient light. There were (3) in our party. We ordered an array of food including tacos, chimi's, burritos, and chulupas. We agreed that the entrees were fresh and alive with flavor. The service was excellent. My cousin and I recently dined at Mexico Real for the first time on last Friday night. We ordered the San Antonio Nachos which were very good. However, we found that my cousin's dish wasn't warm enough for her liking and she requested that they heat them up for her. The manager was so nice he made her a new plate heated to her preference. Mexico Real isn't great but it's the best food we've found so far that is a non-chain restaurant in Crowley ISD after a year of searching on every staff professional day. Good chips and salsa. If there was a way I could give this place a ZERO I would. Save your self the time and money and avoid this place. It is better to make Mexican food at home. Their fajita plates are 8oz portions of meat based on what the manager told us, they fill ur fajita plate with massive amounts of bell peppers and onion. And at $11 a fajita platter this is a no brainer (avoid this place, cook out at home). Meat at the meat market sells for $4 a pound for fajita meat. The biggest issue that I had was that they would not honor a groupon we had purchased. The manager on duty said they called the owner (Martha?) And she refused our groupon. We had a group on 15 people when we ate recently at Mexico Real and each one of us will never return. Thank you Mexico Real for teaching me a lesson and staying home to cook out. read more

It was extremely disrespectful to anyone who is trying to enjoy the company of those at their own table. We first went here on National Margarita Day and we are about to go there again. It was so good!!! They never let you run out of salsa, the service was friendly and extremely quick. I've enjoyed this place in the past...for what it is. Today I took a from out of town guest there for an early supper. She doesn't care for salsa and ordered guacamole. What came out was astonishing. A single scoop of guacamole that looked like it was dished out with a melon baller. Enough guacamole for one chip. I asked the waitress if that was a normal portion and she told me that they were running low on guacamole. Although another person at my table got 4 times as much guacamole with her quesadillas. How much was I charged for this whopping amount of avocado goodness?...$1.75. I protested at the register and was told that was a normal portion. I asked to speak to a manager and a waitress went towards the kitchen and spoke to someone who I assumed was the manager. That person ducked into the kitchen. I waited a few more minutes and told the cashier I would just pay the bill. I returns to my table because my guests weren't done eating. We stayed another 15 minutes and a manager never came to talk to me. I won't be back. There are too many Mexican food restaurants in Fort Worth to waste my money here. read more
