Most places have just been ok, but when I saw MGs on Google Maps looking for something different, I was intrigued. I'm glad I went. The burger was fantastic. I was on a roadtrip back to Oklahoma from Dallas and needed a place on the way to stop for dinner. Yelp to the rescue once again. I'll admit, we started questioning our GPS when we started going through a residential neighborhood, but trust it. It's off the main road, but not that far away from the highway (a perfect roadtrip stop!). I got the Cadillac - a burger with cheese, bacon, mustard, lettuce, and tomatoes with a side of fries. It was all delicious. They make their own hamburger buns daily and it tasted like they make their own hamburger patty and fries too. If you're craving a classic burger and fries, GET THIS. My mom ordered the club sandwich, which we found out they make it with hamburger buns and not toast... It tasted okay, but not great. GET A BURGER. That's what MG's is known for, after all. Service was good. We were checked on twice the hour we were there. Ambiance was cute. Lots of classic car memorabilia on the walls and even the CEILING. -1 star. If you order water, it's the disgusting Texas tap water. You might as well drink out of the toilet. read more

No, no, no. I understand their theme/gimmick being mid 50's diner but I'm more than sure 50' error onion rings was not a glob of grease and crust. Yes onions was present but not connected with the crust. My burger was overloaded with generic bbq sauce and no onions and pickers that was to be the ford burger. This place is a bummer. read more

They call themselves a burger place. But I had a friend tell me they had a great chicken fried steak. So, my husband went with him,and he messaged me about how awesome the steak is. I had him bring me one home and he's not kidding. It's definitely not the biggest one I've ever had but it is absolutely the most tender and flavorful. My husband had a burger there at an earlier date and raved about that as well. I've been going to MG's since I was a broke college student at Austin College back in 2011. My old college roommate and I stopped by after reminiscing on campus, and MG's is STILL so good as I remembered it! The burgers are so flavorful, full of that good grease, and really gives you that diner vibe. The fried pickles are *chef's kiss*. They did remodel since I've last visited, and it looks so clean now! Although I do miss the pink retro car vibe they had going on before. And I miss the kum-n-go gas station next door. This is a solid Sherman staple and I've had so many memories with my friends here. MG's is embedded in my history forever and I'm so glad to see it's still around and still JUST as good! read more

Is the best burger joint in Sherman by far. This place is clean. The staff are very courteous and the food is just WOW! I caution you do not enter this restaurant unless you are hungry. The burgers are fresh, and they have the best onion rings in town. The service is wonderful. This place has Great Burgers and CFS and AYCE (All you can eat) burgers on Saturday and CFS on Sunday... Now only if I lived closer.... Try there Onion Rings and Ranch! Best burgers in town, my favorite is the Hot Rod Ford! A unique diner theme with the 50's cars. Closer to home there's nothing like it. I like how on the menu T-Bird is a Turkey burger lol. What has happened to this place. I got a To go order I get it back to work. I get a chicken fried steak sandwich with onions and pickles. No lettuce no tomato. With tots. I get a cold chicken fry with no onions 1 pickle and 1 small tomato and lettuce. And fries that tasted so burnt were un eatable. Thanks for wasting my 10 plus bucks and making my lunch sorry. We were in Sherman doing errands around lunchtime and wanted something different. Yelp pulled up MG's. What a great choice. We started off with homemade Italian Creme Cake - moist and delicious! All of the hamburgers are named after cars. I got the Cadillac and fried pickles. Hands down the best fried pickle chips anywhere! They are thinly sliced and lightly battered. The chips are super briney, which means very saltly - just perfect. The inside is small, but the staff is very friendly and efficient. We loved this awesome little hamburger shop! We love finding little independent, family owned restaurants to check out, especially when we are traveling. David found this one this time, and he picked well. The food was good, service friendly, and the atmosphere was super fun with an old fashioned car-themed place, even in what appeared to be an old gas station. But it was completely renovated and lovely, even down to the white tea hand soap in the bathroom. Definitely worth stopping for a bite! read more
