Confirmation of a reservation that meant nothing.

My wife and I wanted to enjoy Mexican food on cinco de mayo during our honeymoon on the cape. I made a reservation at Mi Pueblo 21 days in advance (confirmation attached). When we arrived 15 minutes early, we were told there were no reservations for tonight because it was cinco de mayo. I received no notice or information related to the cancellation, and now I'm being told there is nothing that can be done. This hostess claimed we'd have to wait 35 minutes to be seated. We asked to speak to the manager, and she tried to tell us that it wasn't possible. ZERO help for an issue that was 110% their fault. Thankfully, there were two seats at the bar that just opened up, so we sat there in hopes of rekindling the evening. The counter was disgusting but it was our only choice. After 15 minutes of sitting at a dirty counter and not being served or checked on once, we got up and left. What a terrible experience on our honeymoon. Sure, it was packed, but that gives a business no right to provide terrible service. If you want to make a reservation that means nothing to enjoy a dirty bar, bad service, and incompetent staff - this is the place to go. Wish I could give zero stars.

I've been visiting Mi Pueblo since their small orange restaurant down the street. The food is delicious (especially the mole!), the drinks are strong, and the service is always fast and friendly. We lovw their fresh salsa too. Highly recommend!

Food was good. Only one server. Tres Leches was delicious. Spicy Margarita was worth ordering again. We will return.

I was very excited to try this place on Cinco de Mayo. I know it's extremely busy on this holiday so I expected a long wait and tried to have a lot of patience. We waited about an hour. The hostess was doing the best she could but she had a pen and a paper and seemed a bit overwhelmed and disorganized. People weren't very kind but she did the best she could and was very nice. As soon as we sat down our waiter came over and brought us chips and what I believe was warm bbq pico/salsa. I did not like this at all but the chips were warm and very good. I ordered a spicy margarita and my wife a Diet Coke. Her soda came out quickly and as anticipated, I had to wait, not a big deal, the bar was slammed. When my margarita was delivered it was what I would call a little of half full. In total, with the ice, it was about 5 sips. The waiter was no where to be found so we watched other people's drinks and theirs were full to the top. I know the bar was busy so I just drank it and didn't order another. Our waiter came over to take our order and was very distracted. Again, I know it's a busy holiday but he barely made eye contact with either one of us. I ordered the mango habanero wings that were a special and he recommended the sauce on the side because it's extremely hot. I agreed and thanked him for the suggestion. My wife ordered a chicken burrito and I ordered a salad (that had cactus on it!) with grilled shrimp. Our wings came our slathered in sauce. I waited for the waited but he never came back until our food was brought out by the food runner. I understand that modifications to food on a busy holiday like this is a no no. If the waited did suggest the sauce on the side, I wouldn't have asked for it. I explained to him that he suggested the sauce on the side and it came in it. He stood at the table and didn't say anything so I asked him if we could either take it off the bill or if he could bring back wings with no sauce. He took the wings and said nothing. At this point, I didn't know if we were getting the wings back. Again, being sensitive that they are super busy, I let it slide. The wings came back out, sauce on the side, delivered by what I assume is a manager/kitchen manger/owner and they were great. I actually enjoyed the sauce albeit very spicy. My wife's burrito was good but could have used more sour cream, guac and it was apparently on the other side of the burrito that was sliced in half. My salad was huge but didn't have any dressing so it was a little dry. I thought there was no cactus on it but found it under the lettuce. The shrimp on it was fantastic. If I had some dressing this salad would be five stars. The waiter came over with the bill before we were done and I let him know that we would need two to go boxes and an order of churros to go. He brought me a plate with churros with ice cream. I try to have patience with the waiter and let him know I ordered these to go and that's how I'd like them. He brings me back a to go box with the ice cream in it and churros on top. Now, I love churros. I order them a lot. When the menu says churros, it usually says what accompanies it. This did not. He brings me the churros with ice cream in a to go container. In any case, you would not put ice cream in a to go container for many reason and then put the churros on top. I flag him down and explain to him that ice cream should not be packaged to go and the menu didn't indicate that they came with ice cream. He said "that's how they come". I explain to him that I'd like the churros in a box without ice cream to go. At this point, I'm pretty frustrated because I've been patient with him and he isn't trying to help me. The nice man who brought out our wings comes back with a bag for our to go boxes and thanks us for coming in, we pay the bill and leave. In the end the churros were amazing when we ate them at home. I'd give the wings 5 stars. The salad 3.5. The burrito 4. The churros were a 5. The service a 1.5 between the drink service and waiter. That's why I gave them a 5. I Overall, I'm sad it was disappointing. I had high hopes for this place as I chose it over Anejo and our good old faithful Sam Diego's. I can't say I would go back in the restaurant or recommend someone to go into this place to anyone that asks. I may get takeout as the food was decent.

Fried ice cream

Spot on! Everything was so good I had the Latina special (grilled steak, chicken, and pork belly)and my husband had the chickken soft tacos and for dessert the fried ice cream and cheese cake empanadas, both so delicious they made me cry.

Wonderful first dinner on the Cape. Fresh ingredients. Flavorful without being 'hot'. Server (Mike) was attentive and friendly.

Convenient location on main street. Service is slow, so be prepared to spend at least an hour. Food is 7$ too expensive, but in line with other restaurants near by. Food is enjoyable and portions big enough to be full.

I like that it's not right out front on Main St. It's like a hidden foodies club. Great authentic food, good prices.

Authentic Mexican in Hyannis. Enjoyed 2 fish taco, while kids ordered regular steak. Everything was great. Atmosphere/location a little odd.

Tacos were very good, and so was the chicken fajitas. Not your normal fajitas, no lettuce, tomatoes or cheese. But still very good.

Fabulous food, excellent service. Very authentic food reasonably priced. Don't be fooled by the lack of ambience.

Not the best place I've been to. The burrito has a lot of cheese and the steak was dry.

I had to order a second bowl of it because I was enjoying it so much. It might sound crazy, but I wish they bottled it. I ordered the Chicken and Steak fajitas. They were incredible. They have large portions and it instantly hit you with that amazing charred flavor. The chicken was seasoned great and the steak was juicy and cooked right to medium rare like I asked. The only negatives I can think of is that the rice is a bit bland and I think that Guacamole should come with the fajitas instead of it being an up charge. I wish I could rate it a 4.5, but because I come every year and never leave unsatisfied, I'll give them the 5 instead of the 4 star review. Absolutely come here if you are craving some Mexican food while visiting Cape Cod.

When I couldn't decide on a cocktail, Sandra readily recommended the Grapefruit Martini -- it was delicious and totally the right call, Hubby's Tito's Cosmo was also well-made. For dinner, Hubby had the Chicken Parm - it was enormous and delicious, chicken was cooked well and the homemade pasta was a perfect al dente. The sauce was very good, but there was too much cheese for his taste, an easy fix to move to the side. There was plenty to take home for a second meal so it was an even better value. I chose the Spinach Salad, which was fresh and tasty with artichokes and goat cheese. Again, it was a generous portion for a very good price. We rarely indulge in dessert but we were convinced to try the homemade Tiramisu and it was amazing, just the way I make it myself. It's very hard to find a Tiramisu that is so authentic. We absolutely recommend Tumi, based on our experience it would be had to make a bad decision from their menu.

The…read morebluefish pate itself was good, but rather on the salty side, so serving it with salt and vinegar chips made it pretty much inedibly salty (this was taken off the bill when the bartender noticed we didn't eat more than one bite each). My first glass of vinho verde wine was served at room temperature (the second was fine), and the side plate I was given was crusted with dried food residue. I also watched an employee behind the bar wipe her nose with her hand and then continue slicing citrus barehanded. The chicken empanadas were good but not particularly special. We also had one of the small pizzas, which was the best thing of the night, crispy and flavorful (with a little char at the edges, which we like). The decor is a little bananas (different shades of green between the walls, the napkins, the barstools, and the banquettes; five kinds of lighting fixtures; lots of sound and lighting items with exposed, hasty-looking wiring). The bathroom door doesn't really close and lock properly. And the restaurant is really loud, even half full. The writing on the menu, about family members and special recipes, tells me that there's pride here and real care about making a good restaurant. However, without the attention to detail (particularly cleanliness and hygiene!), that's kind of moot. Three stars instead of two here because the pizza was good and the staff obviously care about customers.
