Great portions! We had a little mishap with what we ordered but they fixed it with a smile! You also get free ice cream if you can make it! Food portions are large. Good country cooking. I recommend chicken fried chicken and jalapeño gravy. Restaurant is bigger than it looks. Holds large parties!

Not a bad spot for a family-friendly restaurant serving classic comfort food. I tried the chicken fried chicken I've definitely had better, but it's still a solid option if you're looking for something local in the area. The service was good, and the milkshakes really stood out they were excellent.

So I've been on a hunt for good southern fried chicken in Houston. As part of that process, we ended up here and, even though it's one of a chain, decided to try it because a friend recommended it. We're actually very happy we came. I liked the bone-in fried chicken (with all of the lab-grown chicken and meat nowadays, I want to SEE that bone in the pieces of my chicken). I asked the lady at the counter what sides she liked the best in the restaurant and she mentioned creamed corn and the mashed potatoes, so I ordered those. I've got to tell you that I really liked both as the mashed potatoes had a lot of seasoning and flavor, and the creamed corn was sweet and a tiny little bit spicy, both really quite delicious. His coleslaw had a fresh and not goopy-textured sauce, liked it. We were so happy with our main meals that we decided to try dessert items, consisting of a shared brownie and banana pudding. We didn't love the brownie but mutually enjoyed the banana pudding. The staff here were all really nice and polite and helpful, and the next time we're nearby we will definitely want to eat here again.

The food was delicious. The ribs fell off the bones with just the right sauce. The burger was moist and juicy. The hot wings were CRISPY and the Sauce was perfect. The catfish and shrimp was delicious it was served with 2 large crispy onion rings and fries. The service was excellent everyone who walk past the table wanted to know if we needed anything or was the food okay. The restaurant ambience put me in the mind of the 1950-1960 style restaurant

I've always passed by Mia's on my way into graces but never had the pleasure of dining in until now. I really enjoyed my experience and meal! The staff was friendly and attentive. The location was spacious and clean. My chicken fried steak was crispy and well seasoned! I enjoyed my sides as well. I will absolutely be back!

First time here visiting from out of town. I got the grilled salmon with cream corn and coleslaw. The salmon was cooked to perfection. The teriyaki sauce was great if you wanted an additional sweetness to it. The corn had a kick to it as well. The coleslaw was delicious too with every bite. Food came out in a timely manner and the ambiance with the music fits the vibe. I'd come back here and try other items. Great for family and friends.

Clean establishment. Friendly wait staff. Variety menu. Ordered the turkey burger and was skeptical at first since never had cranberry sauce on a burger or goat cheese, however they highly recommended it. And it did not disappoint. The flavor blend was perfect and I enjoyed the whole thing! The sweet potato fries had the perfect crisp and were delish and my spouse loved his chicken fried steak. Overall, I recommend checking out this spot for a good eat with a sweet savory treat at the end! They give you free soft serve after you enjoy your meal. Bon ape'treat!

Delicious 5+ Stars, A++, and a double of applause. This was my first time but shonuff not my last time. I didn't know this restaurant was serving food like this! Fresh, hot, seasoned well, and good. My Hubs had the bison burger. I had the chicken fried chicken and I normally don't eat the white gravy but this here, I did and it was very creamy. The sweet tea was on point to the right degree of sweetness.

Had the meatloaf this go around, wasn't impressed. This is my least favorite thing I've ever had here but that's okay everything else has been delicious. Service was excellent and the atmosphere is always nice and considering the amount of people there it wasn't too loud.

Chicken fried steak looked great on menu, but was disappointing because it was unappetizing served cold with cold green beans and mashed potatoes! No one checked to see why I was not eating what I was served, even when we asked for to go boxes. My friend had a taco salad and chicken tortious soup that she said was very tasty. The waiter never came back to check how the food was and passed us many times without stopping to inquire why the whole steak was still on my plate. This one large room with adjoining back room, restaurant near I45 is very popular and was packed when we arrived and when we left. Nothing stood out as delicious! Or outstanding. Customers must order first, grab cutlery and napkins and then find a table, Orders are delivered to tables.

This is a very casual restaurant. You order at the counter then your food is brought to you. They offer beer, both draft and can/bottle, wine that you buy by the small bottle but they do give you a wine glass to pour into, and frozen margaritas, two flavors. The employees taking orders were friendly and helpful. I had a Modelo draft plus we ordered the trio which had onion rings, fried pickles and delicious wings. For dinner I chose the shrimp and fish which had a great flavor. Even the tartar sauce and red sauce were good. It came with coleslaw which had a slightly sweet taste along with onion rings and french fries cooked perfectly! Great place for casual dining with home cooking.

Loved the sit down restaurant, family vibes this place offers! Lots of southern comfort food to choose from. The mac and cheese was delicious, not your ordinary kraft mac! I came for the onion rings and they were amazing, very crunchy. Queso was a good classic queso. The breading on my chicken was very flavorful and SO crunchy. Definitely coming by again to try a burger! The cashier was helpful in choosing a side for my father's entree. No one came by after dropping off the food but I was able to get a busser to grab some ranch for me!

Good friendly Service and a nice clean restaurant. Ok ... food wise ~ the chicken fried steak was dry. The potatoes lacked flavor, and the cream corn was just fair. But I thought the buttered Texas toast was tasty. Ok, for that meal, with water, tax, and no tip you're looking at $20. Would I come back for this meal. Probably not. Bon Appetite.

Hands down the best service and food I've had in a long time. Went for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. Place was pretty packed, you order at the counter when you walk in, you pick your own table and your order is brought to you. I noticed the tables are being cleaned the second people get up to leave. There are also employees walking around asking if you would like refills or anything else which was nice (drinks are self serve). I had the hickory burger and it was amazing. It's a burger with cheese and bacon and caramelized onions topped my bbq sauce. The patty was juicy and fell apart in my mouth the second I bit into it. It comes with fries that were also cooked perfect, hot, crispy, and seasoned perfectly. I can't wait to try the rest of their menu as this will be a go to place for me now! read more

The good: the food was decent and the menu was as well The needs improvement: high prices especially for the experience. IMO, it has a high end Lubys feel. From waiting in the queue to the community seating to the self serve it just isn't worth it considering the price. read more

I normally really like this place but tonight was just not good. Starting with the unfriendly girl that took our order & went downhill from there. No service at all . No "is there anything else you need" No thank you no goodbye ...nothing! Our dirty plates never picked up. It used to be a whole better I know because I've eaten here several times. I came in to place a large order for work. I can not tell you how amazing the staff was here! The food has always been great but the service I received today was top notch! The food order was going to multiple divisions and when I asked if they could bag separately, Arely, the store manager, didn't blink an eye! Super friendly staff! This is a counter-order-first type of restaurant. It wasn't very busy when we went on a weekday at around 6:30pm. Ordering was quick and they brought our food to our table fairly quickly. Ordered a chicken fried chicken with two sides and a kickin' chicken sandwich. Everything was well seasoned, food was hot, fries (both regular and sweet potato) were the "skinny" kind, flavorful. Nothing out of the ordinary but everything was good. Only complaint is that there was nothing green on either of our plates. The sandwich is the definition of plain, just the bun and the piece of chicken with Buffalo and gravy on the side, no lettuce, no tomato, nothing else. read more

First time here. The food came out piping hot! The banana pudding was the best I have had so far in Texas. And to top it all off? You could walk out with an ice cream cone - FREE! I just want to know if they have any other locations in my area? Not very often I give out 5 stars since I didn't get a chance to visit the restroom. I found the chicken fry and onion rings to be very good. The portion was full-sized. You order at the counter so service is what you would expect. My main concern is that the costs are higher than most places that provide real service and a menu that is not primarily fried. It wasn't bad but there are a lot of places that have much better food and service for lower prices in the area. read more

I had the Fish & Shrimp dinner.... The catfish/shrimp was a little Bland but cooked thoroughly Came with Fries and 2 onion rings.... I must say I wished I had more of the onion rings because they were awesome. This is about all I can say.. I want to try the Fried Chicken next. read more

I ordered the Southern fried chicken (4 pc mixed) w/2 sides, mashed potatos & cream corn. The sides were nothing to brag about.what WAS suprising was the size of the pieces of chicken. This had to be the SMALLEST chicken parts I have ever beeb served. The 'drumbstick' was the size of wing drumb stick. The wing was almost non existent. Thigh was the size of two index fingers , the 'brest' three fingers. All for the remarkable low price of $14.95. My wife got the CFS, fair sized and tender but underdone. Crust was crisp on the outside, doughy on the inside. At $16.95 there is no excuse Will not be back again. Hickory Hollow and T Bone Toms for me for CFS. read more

We have been to the Woodlands location quite a few times now, and tried a wide variety of things on the menu and have always been pleased with the food. The taste is good, the food is always hot, it is clean and the service is always friendly. With most things on the menu you will receive enough to take home for a second meal. We have also used their curbside service often and they are always on time and happy to help you out. Their food travels well also. Highly recommend Mia's. The only negative is getting out of their parking lot and onto what has become a pretty busy service road. The Shenandoah cops need to get back out there writing tickets like they use to. read more

We sat at the bar as the line for a table was pretty long. You order from a counter then your food is brought out to you. Bar was immediate seating. My wife got a margarita that she said was delicious and she is not easily impressed by a margarita. They had some great craft beers on tap so I had a very good vanilla porter. She ordered the meatloaf and loved it with green beans with bacon in them. She did not care for the Mac and cheese as it was a creamier cheese and she likes a more gooey Mac and cheese. Mashed potatoes were delicious. I got southern fried chicken and the green beans and mashed potatoes. 4 pieces of chicken and I could not eat it all as it was a large meal. So good!! We actually went back the next day for more! read more

My daughter and I ate Sunday lunch at Mia's Table. We were not disappointed. The sweet tea and strawberry lemonade was a big hit. We were in town for a medical emergency. We asked where could we get some good food with some vegetables? Mia's Table came highly recommended from locals. My mama and sister-in-law are picky eaters. Mia's has just what they wanted. Staff was very friendly and patient with us as we made our choices. The decor was so cute. I love the scrabble tiles on the wall. They have unlimited soft serve ice cream cones. A major plus!! Fried chicken was hit with my mama. Shrimp and catfish platter was a huge amount of food. Which is ok for leftovers. I would definitely return if in this area read more

I was able to have lunch with my husband here which is rare that our schedules would align. Meals without little children asking for something or fighting. Such a treat! The restaurant looked busy but they moved through the line quickly. Yes you order at a counter and they bring the food to you. I tried to be healthy and ordered a salad. My husband had a burger and fries. Full disclosure the burger looked amazing. They lady that took our order recommended the banana pudding. Which I did taste and it was heavenly. Mia's Table is a casual, family-friendly place where all are welcome to enjoy our patio, have a soft serve on us, or sit back and watch the game with a cold beer any day of the week. Meet the Business Owner: Johnny C.

Proudly born and raised in the East End of Houston, Texas, Johnny Carrabba III was raised in his parent's family-owned grocery store, Carrabba's Friendly Grocery, and attended St. Thomas High School. In 1986, Johnny opened The Original Carrabba's on Kirby Drive. The second location on South Voss Road opened its doors in 1988. In 1993, Outback Steakhouse created a joint venture partnership consequently opening over 250 Carrabba's Italian Grill Restaurants nationwide. Johnny and his family continue to own and operate the two original Carrabba's locations. In 2012, the family's new fast-casual concept, Mia's, opened one block behind the Original Carrabba's on Kirby. In 2014, Grace's, affectionately named after Johnny's grandmother, Grace Mandola, opened its doors forging the fourth family-owned and operated restaurant for the Carrabba family.

The chicken fried steak was outstanding and very tender. I liked that the delicious gravy came on the side so the steak stayed crispy. The sides were also outstanding. The GM (Glen, sp?) came to say hello because it was our first time there. I told him everything was wonderful and that we would come back. This is the case with Lama Mediterranean Cuisine in The Woodlands. My wife had a doctor's appointment at 2 pm and we live about 35 miles away, I figured go early and get some lunch and then get to the doctor with a full stomach. We put the address into the GPS and pulled right up in front of the restaurant. While it was nice weather outside, we decided to sit indoors and I am glad we did because I noticed some diners outdoors were batting away insects. Our server, Abraham came quickly and took our drink orders while we studied the menu and admired the beautifully decorated interior of the restaurant. Blue is a strong color they have used effectively, there is a large dinging room for a big group just off the main dining room and a bar at the far west end. We ordered some appetizers and they came out quickly, We had a small order (4 pieces) of the Fried Hallumi Cheese and also Kebbeh. Both came with a small sampling of cucumber, tomato and red onion which paired well. The Kebbeh had the most fragrant seasoning, I believe a mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and clove. The serving sizes were ample and after trying some we both agreed to save room for the entrees we ordered, my wife had the Gyro Sandwich and I had the Chicken Shawerma, both were wrapped in a super fresh pita that had to be house made. My wife had the regular fries and I had sweet potato which were cooked perfectly, so light and crisp. We couldn't resist ordering some baklava to go, my wife thought walnut sounded good but our server said he felt the cashew was the best so we ordered that. When he brought it out, he said that there were 2 pieces of the cashew but he also added one of walnut at no charge, what a treat. We will be coming back here, the restaurant overall was super fresh and clean, service was great and the food was fantastic.

I finally visited this Greek/Mediterranean/Persian restaurant on a Sunday for lunch to see why it's…read morerated so high. Inside is elegant and well decorated with glass tables and large rugs everywhere. Looking at the menu, it's a mix of various cuisines, but they do separate out the Persian dishes which are somewhat similar to Mediterranean ones just cost a little more and have different spices altogether. If you visit on weekend nights, you'll likely get to see belly dancing here. I settled on the chicken shawarma wrap, even though it costs a few dollars more than the chicken pita. It does come with one side for $21,and I chose French fries. It tasted pretty good, but you do have to get used to the pickles which gives the wrap an overall weird taste. These are not your typical pickles which go well with American fried chicken sandwiches. A Mexican tortilla is used as a wrap here instead of the bread they use for wraps in other Mediterranean restaurants in Houston. If I wanted a chicken burrito, i would have dined at a Mexican restaurant. The fries are previously frozen ones and lightly seasoned and really only decent when hot. Unfortunately this is one of those restaurants which takes care of newly seated guests and large parties but ignores the tables of 1. Not my fault I only have one in my party. They seated me in the corner and another gentleman came about 20 mins after me and I never saw a waitress go to his table after being served his entree either. The chef or kitchen hand is the one who brings out the entree from the kitchen here and my waitress never showed up until they try to take your plate away. However, I was still eating and also waiting for 10 mins on a refill. I can only eat so much before needing to take a sip of a liquid...but if you come with a party of one here..you will likely be waiting awhile. The lady taking my plate wasn't even my waitress either. Meanwhile, for the gentleman sitting outside alone, I observed his drink to be empty a while and they weren't refilling his either. He finally leaves and goes to a cash register to pay. What? A semi-fine dining elegant spot with mandolin playing in the background has a cash register where you have to go up to pay? What is this world coming to? With these prices, they should roll out red carpet from the front door to your table each time you walk in....and surely make the waitress do something for once and take your card and swipe it herself at the cash register which shouldn't be in the middle of the damn room. Sort of defeats the purpose of being elegant. Did I mention the glasses are plastic here too. If they want to be refined, try at least using glasses for drinks.

In summary, I was not really impressed with my meal, but this is a super casual place and the prices are right. I started off with their house small frozen margarita. If you just need a basic one, this will do. It's nothing fancy. For comparison, their fresh margaritas start at $12 currently. Their salsa is served at room temp and you receive both a green and a red one. The red one was my fav. It was also the spicier of the two. I ordered their beef fajitas for one which is only $20. Let's see how it compared to my favorite in town which is much more expensive. Beef fajitas- these are your basic beef fajitas with store-bought tortillas. The sizzling skillet comes with 2 types of grilled onions, tomato, and grilled bell pepper slices. The beef is tender, I'll give them that, but the quality is low. You receive a lot of Pico de Gallo, not much guacamole, and an avg amount of rice and beans. The grilled onions were not grilled very long at all. I noticed a couple of the slices of beef were not cut against the grain, so they were a bit more chewy. Overall, service was average. They never asked me if I wanted a 2nd margarita until after I sat around for 10 mins and then even asked for the check. By then, its way too late to ask a customer if they want a 2nd drink, I guess that's how low key they are. At the end of the meal my glass of water was nearly empty too, but no server was to be found at the bar. In fact, they didn't really even man the bar most of the time with the 4 customers sitting there, including me.

Wasn't too sure about the food and pricing but went anyway. Food was good although nothing exceptional and place was clean (except bathrooms) for the most part. You have to choose a gratuity option when ordering and I thought it was a little odd. Not a fan of food auction when food arrives as some may have same order with special request and they aren't sure of those when they arrive to table and stop trying to take my plate when I'm still eating. My husband said this was the first time he's never had to add hot sauce or seasoning to his meal. I had the chicken fried chicken, he had chicken fried steak, kids had cheeseburger and macaroni. Mia's is one of our favorites. Great for mom and dad as well as the kids. I highly recommend the Fish Tacos with chips and queso. The kids love the cheeseburger. They have a good choice of beers and also have some specialty cocktails. Free soft serve at the end is a great treat, but we love the cookies, so it can be a hard choice.... definitely recommended for all ages.
