I took my car in for repair to my driver's door and the housing around my steering wheel after my car was broken into. I experienced a hit and run mid December, but unfortunately with the holidays being in the same month, my insurance didn't allow me to get my vehicle into the shop into Michael J's until January 3rd. My car was towed in through my insurance and I didn't receive my vehicle back until today, February 10th. Evans, who was in charge of my vehicle told me in the beginning that my damages looked like it would only take a week to a week and a half. However, Evans informed me that my vehicle suffered internal damage which extended my pick up date. I didn't have a rental the whole two months because I'm under 21 and my insurance wouldn't cover the whole time period I would need it. One thing I would suggest to the shop is to communicate better and give updates at least every end of the week. I did express to the manager Jeff, that I always had to be the one to call the shop or get in touch with Evans to ask how soon will I receive my car back and how much progress has been made. As a full time student who also works full time, it was extremely stressful and difficult not knowing when I would have my vehicle back. I do appreciate all the damages being taken care of and my car being given back to me as if it never got hit, today is a good day! read more

I went in to this shop + they told me that it'd take a month for parts to come in (which it did) and five days for repair (which was true!) I received my car with no delays, and they even put it through the wash and gave me a little bottle opener keychain when they returned my keys. Unfortunately, the weekend came and went, and I found that there were a few issues with the door. So I called + was told to come in three days later (which could've been earlier, if I hadn't been busy) I went back in and Jeff (who had taken care of me from beginning to end) got my door fixed and (again) through the wash before return! 13 days ago I Walked in for a quick estimate Was greeted right away by a lady and told to sign in using an iPad then shoved off to the side Had a guy then loudly ask the lady if I was a self pay as he was shoving food in his mouth , the lady confirmed saying she would add me under his name then he responded with saying he'll grab someone else as if I wasn't in the room hearing all this with other customers around Come to find out the same guy was going to end up "helping" me he walked out of a different door and came in the same door I did We walked outside to view the damaged area (bottom right quarter panel and top right of the bumper damaged) Apparently this area would cost 10,000 I couldn't believe I was getting quoted this off the bat and couldn't stop laughing Mind you I was getting quotes by other 5 star shops and small businesses using insurance or not none quoted me 10,000 The most was 5,000 using insurance the least 1,800 with no insurance from different shops I obviously needed a new bumper with a rough estimate being around 350/380 new by all the shops I asked I honestly think you should have employees who actually work on the cars to give estimates or at least help give estimates He tried telling me a pieces from the bumper (all the way on the bottom) has to be replace when it had nothing to do with the damage I saw there was another body shop right next door and they quoted me 1,600 Maybe I was treated differently because of the way I looked or what car I drove but definitely not a good first impression read more

I went to them for an estimate on a tiny paint chip on my car because they had done such a good job before and I felt they were trustworthy. The first time we got work done there they could not have been nicer. This time the only person who made eye contact was the estimator. The issue was a small chip on the drivers side door exactly 1/2 inch. Not only did they estimate $2000, they kept padding the bill with things that were clearly intended to get it as high as possible. The chip was on the drivers side door and they said I would have to replace my car logo on the rear drivers side door. The guy had a take it or leave it attitude. I had a different estimate that totaled $1000. Something changed there. Would not recommend. read more
