Custom framing: I brought in an art print I had rolled up for over a year and Alex was more than helpful and enthusiastic about getting it framed. I knew very little about framing artwork and she was informative and persuasive. I've worked retail and there's no doubt that I had been up-sold in this transaction (2 mats and the acrylic glass) but I don't feel duped or manipulated; this peice turned out amazing and I'm so glad I listened to Alex's input. She was patient and willing to show me all the possible outcomes (combos that I would have never thought of but elevated the piece). Love it; I've gotten so many compliments! read more

Should have read these reviews long before I poured nearly $1000 into getting custom frames. The frames were not delivered on the time they estimated. What was worse was the lack of communication and promises that it would be done few days later. No one ever called back and I was the one doing all the calling. Rafeal the framing manager was not in as promised. Look elsewhere for frames regardless of the sales gimmicks. read more

Slowest check out line process. Coupon policy is super strict. The customer service associates around the store are always busy and can barely help customers find items. Joann's (Crafts and Fabrics) is more generous with their coupon policy (can use both e-coupon and paper coupon in same check-out or even can use different coupons). Also, I think its super weird that you cannot exit the store without having to walk through the checkout line -- not even sure if this is ADA compliant. read more

NEVER EVER order online to pick up in store and pay with PayPal. Tried that to make it simple and now 10 days out i'm still sitting here with no order even though I have an email from Michaels stating they have received my order as well as a hold on my PayPal. I have tried to call the store, no help, I have not called customer care twice. Last week went through all the information, gave them everything, was told it would be submitted to their PayPal division, I even got a reference case number. Wait, call back today as it's been a week (was told 3-5 days) and guess what??? They have no information in the system with the reference # I was given and i'm told sorry you'll need to resubmit that claim as I see it was opened but never went to the right department to look into it. Never have I ever had such unprofessional morons to deal with when it should have been a simple pick up in store order and cancel it and refund my money if they didn't process it. Now I have to wait another 3-5 days and as it is I'll probably end up waiting to open a claim with Paypal themselves after 31 days! read more

Went here to find a Christmas tree the other night. They were out of the tree I wanted and I was informed they would restock them overnight. I went online and ordered it for curbside pickup for the next day. I woke up to an email saying they cancelled my order frustrating because I could have ordered it to be shipped to my house instead. My husband called the store and they said they would hold the display tree for us and let us purchase it for 10% off because technically it's a damaged item and they don't know the sanitization i'm going to have to do to the tree. I figured that was fair and agreed we went to pick it my husband helped take the tree down and dismantled it. of course no box so he put it in bags. As we are checking out the sale associate asks the manger to apply the 10% discount for us. The manager tells us they aren't giving us one and who we spoke to earlier. We didn't ask the employee for her name but i'm sure they could figure out who was working at 12pm on Monday. The manager told us they aren't allowing it. So since yesterday I have been told multiple falsified information from employees working here. Not only did my husband do all the work to get the tree bagged and taken down but now because Deanna says there's no discount we will not be getting one. Horrible customer service rude disrespectful managers who make there own rules. And misinformed employees who apparently lie to customers. will not be returning to this location and honestly will be returning the damaged tree. read more

For the second time recently I bought something at this store, got home and found it was defective. In both cases the merchandise clearly had previously been returned. I can understand this happening once at a store, but two times makes me think they are systematically returning bad items to the shelves. Wasting an hour each time returning broken items, not to mention the cost of gas, is getting to be a hassle I don't need. There are other craft stores, and I guess I will have to drive a few extra blocks to get to them. Too bad. Used to be a decent craft outlet. read more

This place is the first stop for anyone wishing to start any hobbies. A big selection of fabrics, sewing machines, papers, paint and much more. I had visited this branch months ago with my younger cousins they loved it. It sparked creativity within them. Items in the store are organized and easy to find. Staff are friendly and very helpful. I was there yesterday for stretching my canvas printed art. For 60x40" size they asked for $395 and they need 2 weeks if you don't pay rush fee . They deserve 1 star because they are extremely expensive, almost 6 times more than the local store I found. For your information local store is doing the same job for $67 in 1 day. read more

Re: Store #3966 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Brought in a large framed print to have the damaged glass replaced. The framing manager gave me excellent service. The glass was replaced with acrylic and the hanging hardware was revamped, the print sealed and was ready in 2 days. Fast, friendly and quality service. Lifetime customer for sure! read more

Another experience where a cashier was poorly trained on policy when trying to cash out a gift card. Chandara was defensive and did not want to call over to a supervisor for help. A supervisor named Ilean did come over and tried to help but then pased the issue to a third cashier. read more

The only reason this post is five stars is because of Melody! She is the nicest and most genuine employee at this location!! I try and avoid coming to this location because there is never anybody around to help you and they are always out of the things I need. Not to mention the never ending line at checkout. This is based solely on the cashier, too bad her name is not on the receipt. So she asks me if i found everything i was looking for "I did not" was my answer, no reply. Then she scans one of the frames i put on the counter i was holding them apart so she could clearly see there are two, could have saved some money because she did not see the second one. Then she telles another employee "i havent had my break yet" "i need my break before I kill someone". If you hate your job that much you need to find a new one. That is not an appropriate thing to say infront of a customer. There were other things she could have said to express how much she need a break. read more

I have been shopping at this location just recently in the last two weeks. I usually shop at the location on Bristol St. near South Coast Plaza, which is ok but it seems a bit crowded with tons of merchandise which makes it overwhelmed to shop at times. However, during my recent visit at the location at the District, I have to say I was very impressed by how organized and clean the store is. It makes it very easy to find items and discover new ones too!! The store associates are very attentive and helpful, I was very satisfied with the level of customer service I received at the Tustin location. I will definitely be back!! read more

The advertised on sale Christmas tree was out of stock at all the So. Cal stores. I offered to buy the one on the display, and one of the employees turned me down even after I asked for the manager. It took me a second trip and ask a different employee if I could buy it, and she gladly took it down for me and offered to help me to my car. Persistence paid off, but I wish it didn't take the second trip to convince them. read more

Fine selection and service but if you need to use the bathroom, you will be treated like the criminal that apparently you are since they LOCK their bathrooms and have to call staff to open. Last time I looked, there isn't exactly an epidemic of homeless hobos in Irvine so I'm not sure what the point is of adding frustration to a shopper's list other than to alienate customers. I came here to get some items framed after hearing nothing but great things from friends. The woman in charge of framing (I believe her name was Nichole) was incredibly friendly, patient, and most of all, knowledgeable. She talked with me for an hour and a half and gave me great advice on how to make my pieces look great. When I went in to pick up my finished items today I couldn't believe what a fantastic job she had done. This is the only time I've ever written a Yelp review, but it is totally worth the excellent customer service and the quality of the finished product I received.
