This place will claim "discounts/price match" but instead will cheap you out on service. They used the wrong oil on our car claiming they are out of our car's "specific oil." I've never heard of an oil change place out of oil especially 5W-30, one of the most common. Save yourself a visit, go somewhere else. read more

Made an appointment for my brakes got their staff friendly, but didn't appreciate that they didn't even took my tires off too check the pads of the breaks. Instead they came back telling me I need axles that their torn and bleeding I don't have any leak in my driveway indicating something like this !! Or bad wheel driving for that matter, disappointing to be honest. My rear axles were replaced already and they also wanted me too fix them !! Terrible customer service. While I was WORKING on my computer, I question why am I being charged and implied that they didn't even check my breaks. The front desk receptionist STEVE made a comment and said "While you were PLAYING on your computer". Im a graphic and web designer, my work is not play. This is absolutely, sadly, the worst Midas you will go to. I got brakes/rotors done about a year ago. I wasn't given the warranty last time, which is supposed to be given to any brake service but was applicable after paying for brand new brakes this time?! I wanted to go in to get them checked, done and an oil change. They told me it's be about 600.... btw, I brought my car in at 930 (FIRST CUSTOMER), they told me they barely finished the oil change at 1245. But called back to tell them not to continue to my brakes next because I had work at 1:30... but were half way done w/ my brakes 5 minutes later?!? They're a bunch of liars and manipulators, especially to women. Even if they claim otherwise. It's so sad, perfect spot in green valley by stingy people. After calling other Midas, this location was able to help me with my car battery. I had purchased a battery from a different location for around $200+ but was told I had a 3yr warranty with it, and all I needed was my receipt of purchase. All locations I called told me No, and the location I originally purchased from was too busy for the day and the next day. This location was able to help right away. It's not like I could've just waited to get my battery replaced hoping the battery didn't die on me again the next day. Thanks for being able to help me right away, only question that was asked was if I had my receipt of purchase and if so then they would be able to replace the battery same day, no wait too! read more

Great place for an oil change. Waiting area is very clean and tidy. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They are very respectful and let you know if any issues arise during the inspection and completion of the oil change. They are not pushy about letting you know what else work needs to be done on your vehicle. They give you options and explain any issues thoroughly. Took my car in for an oil change. Shortly after, my oil light started flashing on and off. I popped the hood and checked the oil level...NONE! They did not fill my car with ANY oil!!! I have a low milage car with NO mechanical problems. I park it on my driveway and have NEVER had a spot left behind! I am absolutely floored that they drained my oil, did not replace ANY, and allowed me to drive away!!! Come to find out, the exact same thing happen3d to my roommate when he brought his car in a month ago!!!! If you really want to blow your cars engine, then by all means, have it serviced at Midas on Sunset road!!! And on a side note, the quoted me 2200 to have a fuel pump replaced, stating the part costs 1700. I drive a HYUNDAI! I looked up the part myself and they start at 350!! What a shady, unprofessional business! Do yourself a favor and get your car serviced at the dealership! It's not worth saving a couple bucks!!! read more

Went in today to get the 1776 deal that's all over the TV for oil change and tire rotation.. ..was told it only applies to vehicles older than 1980 for conventional oil. Then tried to get a regular oil change and was told I had to get synthetic because that all my vehicle will take....BS.....I have put regular oil in my truck since I have had it. Then was told he had no mechanics to do work anyway. So why did you open your doors today grumpy... nice business. I have no clue how you even have a job.....good luck with business here read more

If I could leave a negative review, I would. The manager that is "running" this place is not the nice and chill dude that he tries to make himself out to be. My husband went in for an oil change two weeks ago and after an hour he was called by one of the employees saying he needed new brakes. That was not true because they were just replaced and are not in any bad condition. The employee was told no and that was that. Or at least we thought. I dropped my husband off and the manager Steve yelled to all of the customers to avoid him on the road because he will run their car into the ground and that he's a dangerous driver. I don't know why Steve thinks that this was a funny "joke", but it's not. Humiliating your customers in front of other customers is not funny or a joke. And he was doing this to pressure my husband into buying their service. My husband was incredibly uncomfortable after this interaction. So on the following Monday, 3/20/23, I called into customer service and filed a complaint and they said I'd receive a call from this business with an apology. I waited the three business days and nothing. I decided to call in and ask Steve to apologize. He refused, told me it was just a joke, and went to hang up on me. Not cool Steve. I told him that it wasn't a joke and when I called back again to ask for a supervisor to talk to, he told me there wasn't one and that I was harassing him and then proceeded to threaten me. For what? Asking for an apology for your rude behavior? Asking for a supervisor? Okay. And now to put the cherry on top, my brother in law went to this location without knowing all of the drama Steve has caused and when he went into his appointment yesterday, 3/27/23, Steve proceeded to tell my bother in law that I was a horrible person and he must not like me. First of all, what if I wasn't even related to this guy? Second of all, how incredibly inappropriate is it for a manager to be bad mouthing their customers to other customers. Don't worry, I will be calling back into the customer service tomorrow, not this location, and asking to speak to a supervisor. This is so inappropriate and makes this business look bad. I've made sure to let all of my family and friends know to AVOID THIS PLACE. Take your business literally anywhere else. I'd rather pay more and be treated like a normal human being than to be belittled by Steve. Just wanted to add: My brother in law had no prior knowledge to this incident, hence why he even went into this location. He actually went because my husband and I recommended this business to him. If I remembered to let him know of this incident, he would not have gone in. Don't worry, I've filled him in and he has no intentions on coming back to do business. All I wanted was an apology. I would recommend this shop for an oil change. Both I and my girlfriend have had our oil changed here and each time they filled the oil to the correct level, used a new filter, didn't overtighten it, and didn't damage or overtighten the drain plug. Service was reasonably quick too. They did quote me a laughable $1500 for lower control arms (they're $50 a pop on rock auto and take an hour to replace) but that's neither here nor there. I have a 2015 Toyota Sienna minivan and my husband has a 1999 Audi. I had my van in here in 2/2019 for brake work. They're now squeaking and making noises. Per Midas Touch Courtesy Check on 8/7/19, brakes were given a green per visual inspection. After financing $1350 in repairs on my van on 8/7/19, the check engine light is on now (9/3/19). They replaced my thermostat and I now get 14mpg. I took the minivan back in on 8/27/19, and the staff looked at my husband and I like we were stupid. I told them my check engine light was coming on for approximately 30-60 seconds after starting the car. There were no offers to fix it. Nor did they offer to refill my wiper fluid, which had been checked off as green, but was empty. I do home visits for hospice patients and need a working vehicle to do my job. Husband's coolant reservoir and several other things were "fixed" around the same time for $1200. He got the car home and immediately all the coolant rushed out. Now they're saying the pressure wasn't checked. There's been no real effort to make it right. They are taking their sweet time looking at the cars. Again. I won't bring my cars here ever again. read more

Extremely disappointed by lack of information provided before service was rendered. I have a failed smog test on my car so I figured I needed a new catalytic converter. Midas was more than willing to put one on and even said it was warranted for 90 days. What they didn't tell me was that if I failed the test, their only solution was to charge me to do more work. What they failed to tell me was that if I failed the smog test, I could apply for a waiver as long as I spent more than $450 on repairs at a certified 2G station. Well I spent almost twice that amount, but unfortunately Midas hasn't invested the time or money to meet the requirements to be 2G certified. This means I have to spend another $450 somewhere else to even apply for the waiver. The sad thing is that Midas was more than willing to sell me a whole bunch of expensive additional services to "guess" at what was tripping the emissions failure code, knowing full well that if they were unsuccessful, I still couldn't apply for a waiver. It wasn't until I asked some very specific questions that I was finally told they weren't a certified repair shop. Bottom line, shame on me for not knowing the law, and shame on Midas for selling emissions related work, but not being certified with the state--and not disclosing that to unsuspecting customers. When it was all said and done, I asked if there was anything they could do for me--whether a credit of some kind or anything else and I was told no. I feel like I gave them a fair chance to do something to help before posting this review--they opted not to even try--so here it ** Update ** After reaching out to them online, one of their district managers, James, reached out and had me come back in to see if we could resolve the issue. He diagnosed the part they should have replaced originally and we came up with a fair resolution to get that part installed. James was very professional and helpful. If it weren't for the time and effort it took to get to this point I would have given him 5 stars for his dedication to customer satisfaction with a fair resolution to both parties. read more

I'm planning a very last minute drive out of state and desperately needed an oil change before I was willing to go. I found a really good groupon deal for one and booked an appointment. They got me in super quick and when I got there I had actually booked for a synthetic blend rather than full synthetic and they were great working with me and honored the groupon price even when I offered to pay the difference. Steve went above and beyond to ensure that I was taken care of and kept reassuring me of it. I went in for a wheel alignment for my lexus while my Nissan was getting diagnosed at the nissan dealer, and i was not upsold on anything. My car, being at 216,000 miles, i would expect to be upsold on something ridiculous but they told me my car was surprisingly perfect. The next morning, i received a call from nissan and was told i needed to replace my entire AC system for a whopping $2400. I was so satisfied with my service just the previous day and knew i had to call steve and ask him to look at it that same day. As i was dropping off the keys, i was given a ballpark for repairs it may need and was already happy with the numbers he gave me compared to that crazy $2400. After a few hours, steve called me and told me that the refrigerant was just about empty. I saved $2250 just by coming here and getting a second opinion. Steve, from Midas on Sunset Rd, is who you'd want to talk to and schedule your next maintenance or diagnostics with. read more
