We brought our car to Big O Tires (Pecos Rd, Henderson) after it broke down while we were visiting from out of state. We had it towed there through AAA and were told the car would be looked at and fixed the next day. Unfortunately, that did not happen. We received no updates, and when we went back, we were given a completely different diagnosis. First, we were told it was Overall Master Cylinder and then , second day we were told , ABS fuse issue and that the part was hard to find, so we waited several days. We even took the initiative to order the part ourselves from Toyota to help speed things up. After waiting from Sunday through Wednesday (and extending our hotel stay through Thursday because of the delay), we returned only to find that nothing had been done. We were then told that the part we purchased was no longer needed and that the entire ABS module assembly would have to be replaced instead. The main issue was not the cost--we were prepared to pay. It was the lack of clear communication, changing diagnoses, and the amount of time wasted. If the full repair was needed from the beginning, that should have been communicated honestly. English is our second language, so clear and consistent communication was especially important to us--but unfortunately, that was not our experience. We ended up calling AAA again just to tow our car out of their shop and bring it to a friend's place. We've trusted Big O Tires in other states like Washington, California, and Oregon, but this location was a completely different experience. Frank, the mechanic, seemed nice, but ultimately the issue was not resolved and the service did not meet expectations. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else, especially those traveling from out of town. Customers deserve honesty, effort, and clear communication.

Independent shops are usually reliable as they live and die by their reputation, but often times they can be hit and miss. I can only speak from my experience but I can report to you that Dave's Auto Repair is the real deal. The shop is owned and run by Armando and his family (Armando bought it from Tim, the former owner, and Dave used to run the shop). Armando knows cars, and more importantly, he knows how to treat people right. His prices were competitive or better than other quotes I got, and he didn't try to upsell me on unneccesary repairs. He did give me a heads up on a few things to keep an eye on, which I appreciated, and he even threw in a few freebies which was unexpected and much appreciated. What's also nice is that most independent shops are only open M-F but Dave's is also open on Saturdays, which makes it convenient for those with work/school during the week. I'm very happy with my experience at Dave's and it gives me piece of mind knowing that I have a great mechanic I can take my car(s) to from now on.

When we went in with Grandmas car he fixed the part and then told us to come back in the next couple of days to make sure it was not leaking. You can tell he cares. He is a good person, reliable and reasonable priced. What else do you need in a mechanic with an auto body shop. I highly recommend you try him out. His place is exactly what you would expect from a hard worker and honesty. You don't need frilly place when you working hard.

I love the weather, the active lifestyle in my 55+ community, and the fact that Las Vegas is only about 30 minutes away, offering countless restaurants, entertainment, and services. Unfortunately, living here has also taught me another lesson: the old saying "Buyer Beware" is more relevant than ever. Over the years, I have found that many businesses--whether in medical care, auto repair, legal services, home repair, or other industries--either overcharge for their services or fail to deliver what they promise. As consumers, we often have little choice but to trust the professionals we hire, making honesty and integrity more important than ever. To me, a truly exceptional business is one that takes the time to explain what is needed, treats customers with respect, performs quality work, and charges a fair price. In other words, it follows the Golden Rule: Treat others as you would want to be treated. Imagine how much better our communities would be if every business operated that way. While companies like this seem increasingly rare, I was fortunate enough to find one recently. I took my 2022 vehicle--with only 22,000 miles--to an auto repair shop that had serviced it several times before. I requested nothing more than a routine oil change. About an hour after leaving the car, I received a phone call informing me that they had discovered major front-end damage. I was told the vehicle was unsafe to drive and that the repairs would cost between $1,800 and $1,900. The diagnosis didn't make sense. My car had never shown any symptoms of front-end problems, so I decided to seek a second opinion. I brought the vehicle to Sonny's Auto Repair at 1000 Stephanie Place, Henderson, NV 89014. From the moment I called, I noticed a difference. The receptionist greeted me warmly, listened carefully to my concerns, and assured me they would be happy to inspect the vehicle. After spending 30 years in customer service, I know how much first impressions matter, and this one was outstanding. I dropped off the car and was told there would be an $85 inspection fee. Later that day, I returned expecting to hear the worst. Instead, I received some of the best news I could have hoped for. The technician--and even the owner, Chris--carefully inspected the vehicle and found none of the damage described by the first repair shop. In fact, the only problem they discovered was that the oil filter installed during the previous oil change had been improperly fitted and was leaking oil. They corrected the problem immediately. Then came the biggest surprise of all. When I asked what I owed, I was told there would be no charge. Chris explained that the repair required very little time and that he could tell how distressed I had been over the prospect of an unnecessary and expensive repair. Think about that for a moment. How often do you encounter a business that could have charged you for an inspection, recommended unnecessary repairs, or simply taken advantage of the situation--but instead chose honesty, integrity, and compassion? Those qualities deserve to be recognized. Because of this experience, Sonny's Auto Repair has earned my trust and my future business. More importantly, they restored a little of my faith that ethical businesses still exist. In today's world, honesty and integrity are qualities worth celebrating. If more businesses--and perhaps even more institutions--followed the example set by Sonny's Auto Repair, our communities would be stronger, trust would be easier to earn, and life would be better for everyone.

For the diagnostics, Thomas was able to identify the problem with my 2001 Ford Expedition very quickly and help me understand how the spark plug issues can escalate, even with repairs. With that explanation, he gave me fair quotes and potential options on how to move forward with, and some things I should reflect on based on my goals and current capacity. For the pre-purchase vehicle inspection, Thomas gave me the computer diagnostics report and an analysis of his tests of the used car I was looking to purchase. The car was a 2005 Honda Accord, which I was hoping to purchase as a temporary car for commuting. Thomas was able to break down his findings in a way that I understood the problems and the risks they presented. His conclusions helped me make an informed decision not to purchase the car because of these issues. This means a lot of All in all, Thomas is a mechanic with fair prices, transparent operational processes, and trustworthy recommendations. He is someone I am relieved to reach out to for the services he provided and for services in the future!

Tom answered the quote request quickly and was able to come and inspect my vehicle the same day. He was very thorough, explained every step he was taking to make sure all of the new parts were installed correctly. We went on test drive and he made sure all of the wheels were functioning properly and the sensors were working properly and brought his equipment on the test drive. He was kind, did an excellent job, price was very reasonable, and he definitely put my mind at ease. Tom will be the only mechanic I'll be using going forward.

When said I thought it was $9.99 as advertised on the overhead, was told front outside window sticker displayed $19.99. If that was the case, shouldn't the overhead sign also reflect that pricing? Used my credit card, and was told AFTER being charged that there is a $5.00 processing fee. If I would've been advised, again prior to finalizing the transaction, I would've paid cash. Additionally smogged another car - I have a 2023 truck. They smogged my truck and again, AFTER THE SERVICE, was told that the first 3 years vehicles don't need smog. I would've appreciated that context before the service (that I have to pay) - or just don't say anything at all. Lastly, as I am waiting in the waiting room, a polite man asked what type of oil they use, employee responded rudely, as the customer leaves - employee comments (in front of other customers) "these people want cheap prices and expensive product". A huge assumption on a simple question that was kindly asked. Customer service lacks, I'm sure mechanical services are good but I can't comment on that part of the business.

If you are a Costco member, enter your zip to find a shop that works with Costco and you get an automatic discount and great service!! You won't see a worker come to back counter drinking a big gulp and burping in front of customers! Disgusting! I knew from the moment I stepped in, this place was a mess and dishonest and I was right!!!
