However, I have been extremely impressed with Vince, the mgr., who is at the top of the pyramid of Midas Muffler Service for me. After having an issue at another Midas store and wrote a review on Google, I was immediately contacted by the owner of This Midas and was asked to bring my car to the Summerlin (W. Charleston) location to have it looked at and repaired...I went in and was met with the nicest bunch of guys! They took no time getting under the hood and realizing what the issue was and scheduling me for the next day, as they had to order the parts. The owner Bob and the manager Ronnie(sp) went above and beyond to get my car repaired properly. There were a couple of minor issues that made the job time consuming, but the guy ( didn't get his name) working on my car got it done and did a wonderful job! I called here to get a quote because my AC blew out the other week. Instead of just a quick price quote, I got a very informative question and answer from Joey. He really made me feel better about my situation and let me know it could be less an the worst case scenario. I took my car in the next day and unfortunately I needed the condenser replaced. I went ahead and got the work done and when I came to pick it up Joey again went out of his way to thoroughly explain what exactly happened and show me the old part so I could visually see for myself. His guy is AMAZING! I have been working in customer service most of my life so I can be pretty critical. Joey is the example of EXCELLENT customer service in my book. Great service, I like how they don't nickel and dime you. If you don't need the work they tell you so, which I really care about. I've taken my cars to other places and they said I need so many things I need to do to it which was $$$$$ and then they said that was the first part, they would have to see what else was messed up after that. This is the best place in town for a brake job . I have priced several other places and they are basically about the same price. The difference is their attitude about working and caring about my actual safety. I neglected to tell them if it was a front or back brakes so they ordered the wrong part but cheerfully picked up the right parts with no problem whatsoever. And that was my fault not theirs. Store manager, Zach, was very helpful and knowledgeable as well as techs, Andre and Klayton, with a "K". Their full intention was to make sure my car was safe to get back on the road. 2nd time coming to this location and both experiences have been great. 1st time I went in for tire patch and even though I ended up purchasing two tires for my santa fe - the guys showed me where my tires were compromised and got me a great deal on two new tires. Yesterday I brought in my wrangler to have a bolt removed from my rear seat, after battling trying to get it loose for an hour I finally called these guys just to see if theyd be willing to help me loosen it - they had it done in 20 seconds. First and foremost-I want to thank both Austin and Adam for taking the time to treat me with the utmost respect not just for me, but my vehicle. I had a VERY bad experience with another Midas on Durango. Austin and Adam stood up for me, even contacting the regional manager-not sure of his name, but kudos to him as well. These gentlemen took my truck in and properly repaired oil leaks that the previous place butchered. My engine was removed, and fixed the way it should have been. They found some other issues such as bad fan clutch, 2 broken motor mounts, and replaced the rear main seal for no additional charge other than the parts. My truck hasn't run like this in years and the BEST part is not a single oil drip. I HIGHLY recommend Austin AND Adam for their expert dedication to the customer. Went to have my steering check as it felt a little loose. Austin was very personable and I was able to have my car checked even though I didn't make an appointment. Within an hour they called to say that the steering didn't feel too bad. They advised that there were no major repairs required so I wouldn't need to spend a lot of money for a new rack and pinion. The most unprofessional mechanic I've ever been to, chain or otherwise. Completely unknowledgeable, and tried to scam me out of $110 to turn off the warning lights on my dash! I spent 3 hours here getting an alignment this morning. During my needlessly-long wait, the manager of this particular branch called (among others): - His wife, to discuss personal family issues and to baby-talk his young son - His mother, to discuss more personal extended family issues and plans - A half-dozen other Midas stores to talk with their managers about business matters I had no business knowing (like personal details about who he planned to fire in the coming weeks and why, and how not-busy he was today) These are not things I need to know. These are not things that any professional person would or should discuss in front of customers! I went in with a severe misalignment on my Jeep having hit a rut off-roading over the weekend. I explained that I had an '07 Grand Cherokee and that I needed to see if I could get an alignment to fix it, or if I needed parts replaced. When I was describing my issues (which included the Brake Assist and Traction Control dash lights being activated) the manager stopped me and spent a nearly 2 full minutes talking back and forth with one of his mechanics about how neither of them was sure they'd be able to fix it there, how they weren't sure even what was wrong, and where they could send me instead. In the end, the manager told me he'd take a look at it so we pulled it in. Midas does the free inspection thing but I was curious about this guy, so I asked what that covered. The visual inspection was free but he'd charge me an hour's labor to even READ the computer codes triggering those dash lights! Roger that, pull it in and take a visual look. He came back 45 minutes later and told me they could fix it with just an alignment but it would max out my adjustment. That's fine, works for now I have upgraded parts coming soon anyway for the whole front-end. No word was given on what was damaged and when I asked he said he didn't know (my guess is tie-rod, but he wouldn't confirm) and finding out specifically would cost more and wasn't covered in just the visual inspection. Roger that, give it the alignment. After waiting another 2 hours and change the alignment was finished and he said the alignment cost $90, and my total was $260. "Whoa whoa whoa," I said, "what's all the other cost?" Oh it's to go through and reset all the codes in the computer and turn off the dash lights. I told him not to do that, to do the alignment only and I'd deal with the dash lights. He said okay, and that he was wrong about the alignment it was actually $140. Really? After I refused to pay over $100 to turn off some lights that will reset themselves if the alignment is done properly, the alignment magically increases in price by $50? Roger that, $140 isn't unheard of for an alignment, and I thought $90 was a pretty good price to start with, but the timing on this one was suspect. Severely suspect. Icing on the cake: my Jeep pulls around and I get my key, go out and a piece of equipment is sitting in my passenger seat. ON TOP OF MY DRY CLEANING. I didn't notice that it had gotten my white shirt dirty at the time but I took the piece back in to him and left. Luckily, the shirt is headed TO the dry cleaning, so I was going to be paying to have it washed already anyway. The invoice I have says that my tires were inflated to 33 PSI during the whole process and that's definitely false. My sensors tell me they're at 25-27 PSI, just like they were when I dropped it off. Oh, and those dash lights they wanted to charge me over $100 to get cleared really did clear themselves, just like I knew they would. What a scam. This place is a joke! The staff is a joke, the management is a joke, and the quality of work and knowledge here is SEVERELY lacking. Caveat emptor. read more

Brought my car in because the oil light was on. Picked it up 5 hours later after letting them talk me into a buying a new strut and an oil sending unit for $400. I picked up the car and the same oil light was still on. He told me that his computer expert had to reset the light and that I should come back in 2 days. I came back in two days and left the car all day. I voiced my displeasure at paying $400 for unnecessary work. When he called me 5 hours later he told me that I needed an new engine. I took it home and on the way home the electrical went out and it overheated and I had to get it towed to my house. I even called him from my stranded position on a busy street and he said sorry can't help and hung up on me. I then had the car towed to a Toyota dealer that I trust and they told me it looked like somebody had taken a hammer to the radiator valve and the electrical had a short in it and that it looked liked somebody had crossed the computer wires. I am absolutely positive that they ruined my car forever. My worst experience ever with a auto service place. By the way, the lying service manager's name is Richard. read more

This will be just the start of going after this place.My son drives his car into these crooks for an oil change.He is told that his oil pan is broken and needs to pay $700 to fix it.Now the oil wasn't leaking when he drove in,but now the car is un driveable.I tell my son to take it to BIG O TIRES in the same parking lot and the owner Ron,says we own them...For the record..Midas corp bought Big O corp but that is a franchise owner.I tell my son that I will be doing a lot of bed reviews of this place and RON yells"Take down his car and let him push it out".I am a business owner,so for this idiot to treat people like that is pretty bad.I call him and in between all the "F" BOMBS,He says my partner is a lawyer so good luck going to a TV station.The guys from BIG O came over and helped push the car over to there place.Which service sounds better??Why would anyone want there kids,wife or parents to deal with an owner like that.I will be following up a 5 star review for BIG O TIRES. I was impressed by the honesty, courtesy and professionalism when I requested to have a tire leak repaired. Although it was obvious they were busy they worked me into their busy schedule in a timely manner. This was as opposed to Big O tires that told me I would have to wait 3 hours, they didn't take appointments, spit chewing tobacco into a trash can while conversing with me and told me there were no other tire repair places within 5 miles...Midis was in the same parking lot! I got a $15 Groupon for an oil change, tire rotation, and fluid inspection on January 2, 2013. While there the manager whined about how he would get dinged by his boss because the vehicle count would be up but the $$ per vehicle would be way too low. After about 75 minutes, he tells me that my rack and pinion steering is leaking badly and needs to be totally replaced and that I have a broken motor mount. Total: $1,800. I elected not to have it fixed then and there because I was experiencing no symptoms of what they described and instead did some research at home. I learned that a Chevy SUV should not have these problems with only 50,000 miles on it. So, I took my vehicle to Pep Boys on W. Lakd Mead where a great service advisor (Marlena) had a mechanic test drive it. Their examination revealed no evidence of a leak in the steering and no crack or break in any of the motor mounts. Local Midas franchisee management has tried to ignore me and my complaints, even offering to meet at a neutral location or another Midas store to show me they were right. When I set up two times for them to choose from at Pep Boys, they changed their tune and admitted their mechanic was wrong (they were not going to admit to attempted larceny), Their CEO had his Customer Relations Manager call me and own up to this and offered me a free oil change. Right......I'm going to let them touch my car again after this? No way. I am pursuing this issue with the BBB, the Nevada Attorney General, and Midas corporate headquarters. Bottom line: don't trust this manager's word. I'm guessing he's the same guy mentioned in a previous review by Bryson H. Be very wary of this operation. read more
