I just want to share my experience with Midas on Charleston in Summerlin NV today. My appointment was at 11 am for tire rotation and oil change. They couldn't find my appointment. Once they did I was informed it would take an hour. 2 hours later they only did my oil change. Didn't have time for tire rotation and didn't top off any of my fluids. I will never be going back to this location and I have been going to Midas for years. This was the worst experience I have ever had read more

So I had a coolant leak. Was coming home and my coolant sensor light came on, then went away after a couple of minutes. I thought nothing big, but then my husband said it was leaking when he went to bring it in for the night. We made a reservation at Midas for this morning and took it in. They said they'll call me back after someone had a chance to look. They called back... and said they couldn't find anything wrong. They saw where it had leaked, but found nothing. I was tired of going to the dealership annually for an oil change - the latest quote was over $100 with a "coupon"?! Forget it! Plus they always try to upsell me when my car runs fine and is under 25k miles. I had no idea where to go, and so I googled and yelped, to find this location. I requested an appointment online, and was quickly called back, and was even able to get in the same day. I usually hate dealing with maintaining my car (I'm totally outside my comfort zone). I was treated with nothing but respect and professionalism by Tibria. She was patient and listened to my questions. She didn't try to upsell me, and reviewed all the areas inspected that my oil change/tire rotation covered. I take car maintenance seriously because I value not only the investment of my car, but the safety of myself, my family, and everyone around me. Not only did I feel like she treated me well, but I could tell that the technician who worked on my car did it with respect and efficiency. I didn't come in to find my car with crazy loud music, the chair and mirrors moved all over, etc. It was clearly worked on, but you can just tell they were professional, you know? What a scam. If I could put zero stars I would I went here to get only my break pads changed to save some money. Toyota was charging me $700 for break pads change only after changing my oil. So I went to look at different options and went to Midas. I communicated with them, told them what toyota said I needed to change and got quotes before heading in. Got to Midas, they checked my breaks and told me my rear rotor and break pads needs to be completely changed, my front change pads needs to be changed as well. They also said my strut and shocks were leaking. Mind you, my car is a 2018 Toyota Highlander with only 49,000 mileage. They wanted to charge me $700+.. Toyota (a bigger company might I add) didn't mention anything about my struts and shocks, so it was so shocking to me. I trusted my gut and said no so I left. Went to Mr. Brake on W Dessert Inn and Jones and was told only my break pads need changing. My rotors are still good and most especially my strut & shocks were not leaking. I am never coming back here. Not sure if the technicians and or mechanics don't know what they're doing or they're really out here trying to scam people money AND breaking cars that are not even broken. With our cost of living now, I felt so scammed. Do better! I replied that I have an appointment and she said, well, all an appointment does is guarantees your car will be worked on sometime that day. REALLY? I went in to Midas on Charleston. My car was making a loud sound and I went in to find out what it was. Initially they said it was the fan and then came back and said I needed two hoses replaced that I thought was the problem with the noise. So I had them change out the hoses. This was a 800 dollar job which turned out to not be the issue with the noise. I am not happy with this and now Midas is on a long list of crappy auto repair shops in Las Vegas. in the last 2 to 3 years I have been to one bad repair shop to another! I was so happy with the service at 10177 W Charleston here in Vegas. The manager Tabria was so helpful and patient with me as I stressed about my air conditioner going out in 104 degree heat here in Vegas. I drive my grandchildren to their various dance, baseball and football events so when she told me on the phone to come right over I was so relieved. The store manager is a great guy! He is honest and breaks everything down for you. The store/garage itself was clean, easy to find location and stocked with water and coffee. The magazines are old, from January 2014 so the reading material is not that great. They do have free wifi though, which helps with the long wait. Over the phone he told me it would be a total of 30-45 minutes. It is now coming on a two hour mark and they informed me that they got the wrong filter - even though I told them the type of car yesterday- and that they had to go run and get one. I would have arranged a ride if I knew it was going to take this long. I was expecting to be able to be back to work by the time my shift started. They do have coffee and water in the waiting area. They have way to many cars to work on and not enough employees. The prices are fare, but make sure you have other arrangements and don't rely on getting done within the time frame they give you. A good thing, they did communicate with me and let me know every step of the process and what they were doing...I only wish I could have made other arrangements. read more

Took my car in for brake work and front pads were replaced. They installed the breaks pads incorrectly and there was a bad sound coming from the front. I took it back 2 other times and was told by "professionals" they were completely fine. Not satisfied I took the car to a Meineke for an honest opinion. They found the pads were installed wrong and fixed them. When I contacted Midas customer service it took over 10 days for a response and when I finally did they stated the owner will not cover anything. I highly recommend taking your car to Meineke! They were great. Please don't make the same mistake I made. This company is awful and the management will take no responsibility. If I could give less than 1 star I would read more

I made an appointment for 10 a.m. They started on my care at 10:50 am. If they allow for appointments, they should honor the time versus putting someone in front of you who doesn't have an appointment. They didn't think anything about being 50 min late and offered me my keys back. Avoid this overpriced auto shop. I bought an overpriced Interstate battery ( $275 ) at this shop because of their 24 month replacement guarantee. the battery would not hold a change after 3 months. I returned the battery and left it over overnight for Midas to test and recharge the battery. The test and recharge failed. Instead of replacing the battery, the shop demanded I bring the car to their shop before evaluating if I was eligible for a replacement for the defected battery. The battery doesn't work and there its not possible to start the car. The simple solution of giving me a replacement battery and then driving the car to the shop was unacceptable to them. Apparently they can't cost justify replacing failed batteries. The same battery is sold at Costco for $109 with a 3 year replacement guarantee. read more

Buyer's be aware. This shop overcharges for parts!!! Midas in Summerlin has a price marked up of almost 45% over manufacture dealership parts!!! It is ridiculous. On 7/5 Midas worked on my car, $3,712.67 total charges, parts alone were $2,200.63 - After I compared parts prices at a Findlay Kia & Jim Marsh I was shocked to see the huge marked up on their part prices. DO YOU HOMEWORK before you agreed to any repairs!! It is a ripped off and an insult to people's intelligence!! To think I have being ripped many times over the years, since I have being taking my son's car and mine close to 2 years. This shop has predatory approach and practices towards hard working people whom are only a need to get honest repairs. The labor as expensive as a dealership, might as well take you vehicle to your dealership. On 7/5 part of their parts replacement, I was charged for a gasoline cap the amount of $47.99, not only I was overcharged, but the cheap gas cap they placed in my vehicle ended up being defective. As of results of the defective and over priced gas cap, I took my card back to Midas on 8/22, this is the day I had the curiosity of checking their prices as the sho was suggesting for me to change the Vapor Can Vent Solenoid Redesigned & a Fuel Vapor Storage Canister, total repair $855.65 - After I complained about being overcharge, they stop the work and I ended up taking my car to Jim Marsh to get a free repair solution; WHICH ONLY CONSISTED OF REPLACEMENT BY GASOLINE CAP FOR $26.90; WHICH FIXED THE EMISSION ISSUE(S) I was having due to a defective gasoline cap; which I was over charge closed to 43%!!! Our daughter is driving a 2014 vw bug and is learning how to properly own a car and the expenses involved. She went into another mechanic shop near this Midas and was told she needed $1350 of repairs. We told her to leave and get another estimate. She went into this Midas and Bill (William Dunlap) helped her. He took her under the car and showed her how low her brake pads were and explained all the dangers involved. He quoted all the exact same services as the former shop and his price was $750 vs the $1350. To say he was a human, would be an absolute understatement. He took on a grandfather role and taught her so much about owning a car, being responsible and being a decent human being. We could not be more grateful. read more

They were very responsive and the person at front desk (Tibrea) was very patient with answering all my questions and resolving the Groupon even though the new owners weren't really honoring them anymore (this was in the spring of 2021). I was a little surprised at first that I had to pay a brake shop to inspect the brakes (when I was already getting other service done) but I knew I needed brakes and the fee went towards that cost. I've been to several places for oil changes, and while they are cheaper, the service isn't nearly as good and a few times my car was worse than when I brought it in. This is my third time to this location and every time I'm greeted by the nicest people, before it was Austin now it's Carl, and I'm quoted fair prices. I'm a 25 year old woman and I've found with auto shops people think I don't know what I'm talking about when it comes to my car. I know what my car should sound like, what it should drive like, and I also know a $400 tire rotation is outrageous. This place is awful. They not only installed our brake pads incorrectly , when we went back 2 other times they still didn't catch their error. And now fail to the right thing. Do not go here! And to add, I've already reached out and this was their customer relations response (which is comical bc they installed our brakes upside down, ruined our rotors, we went back twice for them to fix and they wouldn't .. and now won't even refund the crappy job they originally did) they won't even admit their wrong doing, by putting the passengers in that car in danger. Received an email directly from current owner from store , and he states that all previous workmanship has nationwide warranty, that if you are still having issues you should go to any other MIDAS location. I have used these guys 3 or 4 times in the past. Always seemed to care and really felt they where honest and trustworthy. Although the last two times I took my 2011 Durango in and 2014 Jetta in I didn't feel confident of the honesty. On my 2014 Durango they did a tune up, when the car back it seemed to be running the same and the price was pretty high. On my Jetta I needed them to diagnose the problem with check engine light. I dropped of for an appointment on Monday 9:30am. I didn't hear from them until I called at closing time for an update. They stated they had some big repairs and would have to get to it on Tuesday. No problem I understand that that will happen from time to time. Tuesday came and Tuesday went no call nothing after they told me they would call first thing Tuesday. Ok no worries maybe they where still working through it? But at least a call to say hey nothing yet but we are working on it. Here comes Wednesday I finally called them at 2 pm to get an update, I was told they need more diagnostic time. That still didn't have an answer. After thinking about It i decided to pick the car up and bring home. They charged me for a diagnostic but nothing was every brought to my attention as far as why the engine light was on. On top of that when the car got home I noticed the bottom part of the back seat had been taken out and left out(see pic) so I had to reinstall that my self. Why!!It was just diagnostics. Why does the back seat have to come out? I have no idea. I feel like they let my car sit for 3 days and still charged me. I will not go back and cannot recommend this company anymore. read more

I'm not a huge car person, to be honest-I usually have to call my dad for help! The first place I called right off the bat was going to charge me 100$- so I'm beyond happy that I second guessed and made Midas my choice! My headlight for quite sometime was going off and I honestly thought it was just the light bulb! But after spending $100s already on light bulbs (yes, super expensive!) it was time to find someone who could help me come up with a full on solution! I dropped my car off and within the next hour (maybe even sooner than that) they had my car ready to go! Super quick and WAAAAY more affordable than the first place I called! (Turned out there was a broken piece that connected everything and luckily it was an easy fix!) I wish I could remember who helped me but overall the customer service was exceptional! read more

My cars back breaks were making noises. I was from out of town on vacation and brought it in. They said we "needed" to change all four brakes. We told them we only wanted them to change the back brakes. When I went to pick it up they replaced all four and tried to make me pay for it. I felt very taken advantage of. I went into this Midas in Vegas because they were willing to change my oil by providing the oil for a conventional oil change. I was under the impression that many oil places no longer would use conventional oil if required. There wasn't a problem using my oil and filter, however when they were supposed to check the rear differential fluid level they claimed they couldn't remove the filler plug because it was stuck. They also claimed there was a risk of cracking the rear differential if they further attempted to remove it. I took auto mechanics at a vocational school so I know how outlandish this claim is. If the differential was low I didn't have an expectation of filling the differential up at no additional cost. Since I'm traveling I was left with no opportunity to get it topped off if they weren't giving me an opportunity to verify how low it actually was. After leaving the store I was left without a solution until I saw a regular oil change outlet just down the street. I moved down there and they helped me out by removing the plug which the first place likely damaged with the second place providing a new plug, and checking the level which was low enough to be a concern. Had they not been willing to check it could have done damage to the internal bearings. After the money spent for the oil and filter and correcting their malfeasance it cost more than a full oil change done by them... which the correcting establishment showed me they had the conventional oil, brand, and viscosity readily available. Just goes to show how a business can make a bad situation even worse. read more
