I do not usually write reviews however it just would not be right to let this opportunity pass. By accident I walked in the wrong door thinking it was the import car shop in the area. Austin greeted me and ask what he could do to help. I hesitated because AUDIs can be expensive and touchy to work on. I told him I needed front brakes and rotors. He said no problem and worked me up a price to which I was shocked at how reasonable compared to the other prices I received in my original search. I left only to comeback a few days later to see when he could fit me in. He remembered me and the estimate which he held to. He scheduled me in and told me a couple hours. I dropped it off, walked up the street to a coffee shop and in two hours he was done. He provided me with the parts removed as I ask. He was so professional and polite. A joy to speak with and a great example of what other businesses should look for in their employees because it seems that courtesy is a thing of the past in most places anymore. The shop manager at this Midas on West Charleston location did a FREE inspection on my car which took 30 min and told me everything was fine. He was honest and gave me a result of their inspection. He even told me to hold off the purchase of their Groupon until the inspection is done. So I ended up paying NOTHING at this time. I would go back to this place and fix whatever is necessary in the future. I was told by Meineke that my car rear brake pads are 20 % left and would need brake pads replacement very soon. When I arrived, I was warmly greeted at the front desk by Austin. After the preliminary check of my brakes, Austin took me around to each section of my car to show me exactly what was wrong. He printed out a price estimate for all the work that needed to be done. (VERY High) He also printed out a list of what needed to be done "immediately." (High, but not as high) I opted for the "immediate work." He said the work would take 2 hours. Almost to the minute, the work was completed and I was on my way out. read more

This Midas is located next to a few other shops in the same area a few of which I've been before. I got a estimate at another and Midas beat it. Austin the manager was helpful nice guy and I was happy with service. I was selling my car and something else popped up a few days later and I took it back here for a separate repair. I was impressed with the communication and service at this location. My car sold about a hour after getting out of the shop so I guess the new owner liked the work also. Austin displayed the best customer service I've experienced when getting my car fixed. He is friendly, knowledgeable, gave me a ride home, and picked me up when my car was done. Also, warning lights came on after my brakes were flushed. Austin took care of the issue free of charge on the off chance that it could have been their fault instead of the car's fault. I had my niece with me and they made sure she was happy. They turned from what they were watching to put on Moana, gave her stickers, let her feed the fish, and had snacks for her. Just left this location, and I can confidently say I will be going no where else when my car needs something! I came in this morning with a Group-on to get my front brakes repaired. Long story short, because my brakes were grinding, there was no way the Group-on would cover the repairs needed. On to part two where Austin at the front desk priced a full brake job for me. He tacked a 40% parts discount to the full price, which dropped the overall price by $100! Once my car was on the lift, Nick brought me out and showed me what was really going on with my car. Turns out my brake pads just needed a quick sand down, and I was on my way! No charge! As shocked and amazed as I still am, it's nice to know that I wasn't taken advantage of like I was by the last two shops I went to to get my brakes checked. When I received a Groupon Promotion for $16 for a complete oil change, my husband and I brought our 1997 Sable LS car for the oil change. The manager at that time did not say anything to us about anything unusual with the oil change. That changed when we arrived home and had a frantic call telling us we must return immediately as we had a cracked oil pan and they "think they saw an oil leak" as we were leaving. We chatted for a few minutes and I said I would get back to him later as I could not return right then. We checked under the car in the garage, by putting a sheet of paper under the car and surprise, no leak! I had asked the manager how much it would cost to fix the car earlier and he said about $349!. We did not return. About two months later, we did notice oil leaking. We went to our usual mechanic MT AUTO REPAIR and they kept the car overnight. Lo and behold, MIDAS never removed the previous seal or gasket, but put on a new one and NOPE, no cracked oil pan either. I then notified the Nevada State DMV compliance division and had an inspector go out to MIDAS. All I know is they made good the price of the Groupon coupon and paid me for the MT Repair charges of $32.00 However, I will NEVER ever go to another MIDAS again. I also contacted Contact 13 and was on their "contact 13" on TV for this story. My advice, stay away from this store and go to MT Auto Repair. I know that I have never had a problem with their repairs. read more

The "owner" of this establishment gave me the worst customer service I have ever received. We are able drive our car into his shop, and all of a sudden he tells us we can't drive it any longer and we need to pay him $620+ dollars to fix it! We're two young guys, I'm sure he saw an opportunity to take advantage of us! He told us that they took out the oil drain plug and all the threading just fell out, they couldn't use an oversized plug because it looks like someone else had already done that! WE'VE NEVER HAD AN OVERSIZED PLUG INSTALLED!! So we got advice from Big O Tires who had VERY friendly employees in the same parking lot (it's so close, go to them!) your oil system in your car is a pressurized system, if the threading just fell out like he said then why didn't it fall out while driving!? I confronted him saying I believe it's his responsibility to fix it and he started to yell at me! Then he went to the garage and yelled, "drop down that stratus, let them push it out themselves! Don't help them!" He's damn lucky we didn't slip and fall on the oil on the ground! Two BigOTires employees helped us push the car there. The Midas owner came and wanted to speak to the BigOTires owner and he told them that THEY DIDNT EVEN TOUCH THE PLUG IT JUST WASNT THERE!! And when my dad called Midas the OWNER started cursing up a storm at him and threatening us with his "lawyer". And the first plug story changed once again and the guy on the phone said he was standing right there while his best mechanic took the plug out! What freaking bullshit. THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU! DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE! Ownership needs to be revoked. What's funny is that The owner was telling us they're the same Corp as BigO, sure doesn't seem that way... I can't wait to call corporate! If I could give 0 stars I would!! Update! BigO said that an oversized plug will fit just fine! THESE GUYS WILL TRY TO SCAM YOU FOR YOUR MONEY! Went here for the first time because they had an awesome Groupon special. I won't be returning. The guy that actually did the oil change was nice and got my car in right away but the man in the office didn't greet me when I walked in, his first words were "groupon code please" (I had made an appt so they knew I had groupon). And then had me sign a receipt and it'd be about 10 minutes. He then walks to the back. We wait in the small but clean area, he then walks back in and says "everything looks good so $4.00". Didn't explain what the $4 was for but the receipt said oil filter- that's fine... But it wouldn't hurt to say more than two words to a customer. Oil change took longer than most places, and the lack of customer service is why I won't be returning. read more

I went in to have my Pads and Rotors replaced. Typical Screeching when stopping ect. They needed to be replaced, I have knowledge of basic car repairs and how to do them, however I don't have a space to do them at my apartment complex. I was called in 15 minutes later after their full inspection. They call me out to look at the car and show me what needed to be done. They inform me that my pads and rotors need to be replaced, ok. My Shoes were a bit worn too, so I went ahead and had them replaced while I was there. Comes to $400. Not too shabby, considering it is Midas. Then they take me to my rear wheels, and inform me that my rear cylinders are leaking, and that I needed to get it done ASAP or my whole break system would be shot. I inspect the cylinders, and they are wet with brake fluid. He wanted to charge me $500 for replace the cylinders and do a flush on my brake system. To that I laughed in his face, saying to just do the Pads, Shoes, and Rotors. The service on the front was fast, and decently priced. As I was leaving, Richard the manager, tried to use scare-tatics into making me get his over-priced service performed by his clown-crew. Well I end up taking it to my dealership a couple days later due to some recall on a part that they were to fix for free. I had them take a look at my rear brake cylinders, and shocker, nothing was wrong with them. The technician said it look liked someone had smeared old brake fluid on the outside of the cylinders. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. I wouldn't even trust them do an oil change. They seem nice, "showing" you whats wrong with your car and explaining how stuff works and why you'd need to replace it. But they are nothing but scammers. read more

The new guys went above and beyond. Tried to fix the issue before they even charged me or tried to sell me a part. The issue was diagnosed and Gene, shopped the best part for me. But then these guys tripled checked their work and ended up fixing the issue, saving me half the money originally quoted AND they even smogged it for me. Knowing that was my original goal. Everything I have had done on my auto is done there because i trust, appreciate and value the work of the mechanics and their knowledge of their profession and efficiency in finding and solving auto problems is exceptional. However, I have been extremely impressed with Vince, the mgr., who is at the top of the pyramid of Midas Muffler Service for me. He is the main reason, I keep coming back because of his sincere, interest, knowledge and customer service in how to best serve his customer's and my needs. This mgr. is rare. My parents took our Honda Pilot in to get a check engine light repaired. They did diagnostics and "fixed" the issue. We drove at least 50 miles to see if it came back on (they told us to). What do you know, it came back on. We went back in and we're quoted another $220. My dad went in a few weeks later and the owner said he fired all the people that my parents had spoken with. He quoted us $1,000 unlike one of the guys that got fired. Not impressed at all. read more

Brake line holding bracket in rear was bent, and brake line was off. Rubbed against tire all the way home. Took them 5 hours to tell me that the caliper was bad, and then the next day another 6 hours to complete the installation of another caliper I had extra. Front bumper was also detached, and hanging loose when I picked the car up. Also nice size black mark on the driver side paint. I trusted this place, after the reviews where awful....big mistake. Never hear bad things, about a good honest shop. Should have trusted this app. Manager was super nice, that's why I gave it 2 stars. I should at least get a free oil change out my awful experience!
