I came here to check out their breakfast and let me tell you I was impressed. They had this toast with avocado, onions and tomatoes 10 out of 10 I even tried their breakfast udon and the broth was so delicious. I even got into their onigiri and I tried their California their crunch the tuna and the salmon, and they were all so flavorful. But their yogurt Matcha was my favorite as well as their torch spam musubi so so good definitely you're gonna wanna come check out for their breakfast. It is such a cute little mom and pop shop. It's like a hidden gem very friendly very clean. I'm definitely coming here to have breakfast and their actual lunch and dinner. Oh and if you love chicken, Katsu, you wanna get their breakfast dish one too it's so good.

Calamari Tempura was so hard and had no flavor. Edamame had no salt and was not fresh.

Our first time here. Service was good! Man was sweet but unfortunately we won't be back. The calamari was unseasoned and couldn't even bite into it. We got sushi which was just mediocre. There were 4 of us and it was $110.

Sushi heaven alert! My mother-in-law's fave spot (and now mine too!) is a hidden gem in La Mirada. Owner Jack's the king of hospitality, and his fish portions? Generous, to say the least! Pink Lady roll, Crunch, Caterpillar, and spicy tuna - I'm a fan of them all! Even my fam agrees it's one of the best. Support local, get amazing sushi. Win-win!

They are now serving breakfast! I got the torched spam musubi and the salmon plate. Everything was delicious!! Much needed for my morning. The owners are great people and provided excellent service. The shop is a cute Japanese themed shopped. Would definitely come back to try their other breakfast items!

Small little place and the old man there was so cute and ready to serve! Absolutely delicious and honestly fresh! I've gone to a lot of places like this but nothing even meets Midori 5. The tuna was sooo pink!! So good! Update: the Udon is so good too!! Also, I got the Hawaiian Roll but instead of California roll inside I did shrimp tempura and spicy tuna, calling it "The BIG K" roll.

January 12, 2021 Looking for a new Japanese restaurant To try this places it OMG the customer service was great, the food they were preparing smell delicious. This is an amazing family run business. My family and I have been coming here for years. It has the best Miso Soup around. Very friendly and warm Japanese restaurant. Sushi is fresh and the staff is super friendly! We love their food! The prices are fair and you get plenty of food. The owner always has a smile and very welcoming. I particularly like the Shrimp Crunch Rolls and the Chicken Teryaki Bowls. I come here for lunch atleast once a week. Enjoy! read more

I've been going to Midori for about 6 years. There was a time when I went most days for lunch - nothing beats a simple $6 chicken teriyaki bowl (now $7). But of course I've had several things on the menu. Their gyoza is also really good. The sweetest couple runs it, so happy and cute, they feel like a long lost set of parents :) I'm so glad they made it through the pandemic! If you want a quiet, chill spot to meet someone for lunch this is the perfect spot. read more

This is the second time that I come here I am not a fan of coleslaw but the way they make here is good. Now this says a lot I was given much vegetables ,which is something that I should be consuming more of from the to go order that I ordered last time. I recommend this place because it's beyond good. First time visit and the staff was super friendly. The gentleman told they had new miso soup cooking and to wait just a moment. They got my drink quickly and took my order. I was introduced to be DORI by my sister months ago. I've had an opportunity to dine their many times and pick up takeout. The owner of the restaurant is an amazing gentleman who bent over backwards to welcome you and to help you with anything you need to order the chefs and the food they have are amazing authentic Japanese grill, and the food is fresh. The meals are tasty and they're outstanding I would highly recommend, if you stumbled across Midori try it out last weekend a coach and his family from a visiting team that played against BIOLA COLLEGE stopped in and we shared information and I show him that the food he is outstanding I highly recommend anybody that reads this or knows where Midori is at next to the Stater Brothers marketat imperial and La Mirada Blvd. I highly recommend that you go in and have a bite to eat. Came to order takeout for my family's dinner and the gentleman at the counter was very friendly and welcoming. He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable on a hot day. We ordered bentos (chicken teriyaki and spicy pork) and they were both great. The bento had a lot of variety and the tempura is a must have. I had the pleasure of trying Midori 5's breakfast pop-up, and the food was absolutely incredible. The citrus-sweet marinade on the salmon was perfectly balanced--light, refreshing, and bursting with flavor, making each bite melt in your mouth. Easily one of the best preparations of salmon I've had in a while! The spam musubi was hands down the best I've ever had--perfectly seasoned, with a satisfying texture and just the right touch of char. The staff was exceptionally kind and hospitable, making the experience even better. As a family-owned restaurant, Midori 5 exudes a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, making you feel like you're part of the family while enjoying a home-cooked meal.
