Came to try the breakfast and it did not disappoint. I got the torched spam musubi and matcha yogurt. The food was good. Breakfast is only available on Thursday. Will definitely come back and try their lunch as well. Friendly and quick service. The place is clean and spacious. Plenty of parking.

Carefully and meticulously prepared options. Tasty, fair-priced, quick service. Bento boxes, soups, rolls, sushi, bowls. We enjoy the food and John, his wife, and Alberto make for a terrific team that adds to the atmosphere at Midori5. Come and try it!! Mon-Sat-11am to 9 pm Sun 12- 8 pm

I came here to check out their breakfast and let me tell you I was impressed. They had this toast with avocado, onions and tomatoes 10 out of 10 I even tried their breakfast udon and the broth was so delicious. I even got into their onigiri and I tried their California their crunch the tuna and the salmon, and they were all so flavorful. But their yogurt Matcha was my favorite as well as their torch spam musubi so so good definitely you're gonna wanna come check out for their breakfast. It is such a cute little mom and pop shop. It's like a hidden gem very friendly very clean. I'm definitely coming here to have breakfast and their actual lunch and dinner. Oh and if you love chicken, Katsu, you wanna get their breakfast dish one too it's so good.

Calamari Tempura was so hard and had no flavor. Edamame had no salt and was not fresh.

Our first time here. Service was good! Man was sweet but unfortunately we won't be back. The calamari was unseasoned and couldn't even bite into it. We got sushi which was just mediocre. There were 4 of us and it was $110.

1st time trying this restaurant Food was delicious and Service was Great I definitely come back again

Sushi heaven alert! My mother-in-law's fave spot (and now mine too!) is a hidden gem in La Mirada. Owner Jack's the king of hospitality, and his fish portions? Generous, to say the least! Pink Lady roll, Crunch, Caterpillar, and spicy tuna - I'm a fan of them all! Even my fam agrees it's one of the best. Support local, get amazing sushi. Win-win!

The tempura and the beef teriyaki were good! The spicy tuna rolls were okay pretty basic but not bad. Service was quick and friendly.

Quick, friendly. Great service like this is hard to come by at most restaurants today.

They are now serving breakfast! I got the torched spam musubi and the salmon plate. Everything was delicious!! Much needed for my morning. The owners are great people and provided excellent service. The shop is a cute Japanese themed shopped. Would definitely come back to try their other breakfast items!

Update: the Udon is so good too!!

Small little place and the old man there was so cute and ready to serve! Absolutely delicious and honestly fresh! I've gone to a lot of places like this but nothing even meets Midori 5. The tuna was sooo pink!! So good! Update: the Udon is so good too!! Also, I got the Hawaiian Roll but instead of California roll inside I did shrimp tempura and spicy tuna, calling it "The BIG K" roll.

Small restaurant mom and pop vibe. Friendly service. Great menu with something for everyone. Food was really good. Will definitely be returning.

The iced flight was also a great way to sample several of their flavors without having to commit to just one. For food, the Birria Benedict was the standout and easily our favorite dish. I loved the Mexican-inspired spin on a brunch classic, and the rich birria paired so well with the eggs and Benedict preparation. We also really enjoyed getting a mix of savory dishes with the Mole Chilaquiles and Huevos Rancheros before finishing with The Journey Pancakes for something sweet. The lady who seated us was very friendly and pretty attentive and especially considering she wad handling a lot of other tables. Both the house eggs Benedict and house French toast were good. Was expecting crispy bacon on the benny considering the description, but the only difference from classic seemed to be the avocado. The benny egg and muffin were both collected well, especially the eggs they did a great job on those. Wife didn't like the flavor of the hollandaise sauce, but thought it was fine. She liked the French toast much better. You did not need syrup as the butter cream and chocolate sauce were plenty sweet on their own. Half serving is probably ok for one person, full was nice to share. The bathroom was clean, large, and single person--great for a pit stop before you head out! The mason jar waters were cool. Bottom Line Up Front: Eggbred is breakfast food for Gen Z --…read moreand that's not a dig by any means. Let me eggplain... The Background: Eggbred is a fast-food establishment with fast-casual aspirations. You pay at the counter but the meals are handcrafted, so there's a wait similar to a sit-down restaurant. Plus, the prices are higher than a Mickey D's -- $9.79 to $13.99 for sandwiches and $9.99 to $17.99 for burritos, for example. The Food: I ordered the Ribeye California Burrito and it was delicious. The beef was tender and moist, the avocado was fresh, and the cilantro crema was tasty. The lemonade was very meh, unfortunately. The Setting: Located in a smallish strip mall on Harbor Boulevard, it has limited free parking in the front. Not a problem on a weekday mid morning, but I imagine it would be quite difficult to find parking at peak times. Inside, it had a cool, modern aesthetic, but it was small, not ideal for mid to large-size groups. Customer Service: My cashier was friendly and quite knowledgeable, providing an eggcellent recommendation (the Ribeye California Burrito). However, the cook staff took awhile making the food (it took about 20 minutes for my order to come out). The Pros and Cons: So, is the food worth the hype and premium prices? Yes and no. It's essentially a fast-food restaurant charging sit-down prices with longish wait times. Your satisfaction level will depend largely on your expectations: if you're thinking it's fast food, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the care they put into the food and freshness of the ingredients. You'll be disappointed if you're expecting a more premium experience to match the premium prices. The Conclusion: I would need to return to try the other dishes on the menu to give a definitive answer, but based on my first experience I didn't feel like I got enough value for the price I paid and the wait I endured. While I would be open to trying their other dishes, I would not return unless I was in the area by chance.
