A solid 3.5 stars. My boyfriend and I came here for Nashville Restaurant Week 2018 and tried their special 2-course lunch menu. They have a small parking lot in front. Upon entering, this place is definitely more swanky than your typical cafe. People were having business lunches in full suits. Tables had actual cloth linens. More of an older clientele. We were immediately greeted and seated. Our server was friendly and efficient. The basket of complimentary biscuits and butter was a nice touch. The biscuits were sweet with a touch of cinnamon sugar I believe and some had cranberries. From the menu, we tried: - Lemon & Artichoke Soup: One of their well-known, staple dishes according to our server. It was different. Very intense lemon flavor that grows on you. Worth a try. - Soup of the Day which was a Andouille sausage, potatoes, and kale: Delicious. Savory and salty. Just the way I like it. Soup portion was impressive. - Rainbow Trout with rice and green beans: This was my entree and I loved it. Fish was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The rice was a tad dry. Green beans were cooked perfectly with a nice crunch. - Shrimp & Grits: The shrimp was cooked well but I found the overall flavors to be a little bland. I've had better. We also had to get dessert which sadly, wasn't included in the price-fixed menu. - Creme Brulee: My go-to dessert if I see it on the menu. Very rich and dense. I wish it was a little more egg-y if that makes sense. Very satisfying. - Molten Lava Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream: This was my favorite dessert. The cake had crispy areas on the outside and gooey on the inside. SO GOOD. Definitely get this! On the regular menu, most entrees were $15+ so definitely more expensive then the typical lunch spot. I found it to be a good bargain with the special pricing but I don't see myself returning to try out the regular menu for lunch. The environment was also a tad too old for me personally. What a fantastic gem I found right across from my hotel. Fantastic food and service. Was greeted by the valet attendant with a smile and asked where i was from. Short conversation but very pleasant Hostess greets me with a smile and thanked me for coming and showed me to the table. Husker my server was fantastic. Got my drink and brought me the most wonderful biscuits. Bite size. Had the Chicken Scaloppini and it was so good. Tender chicken great marsala type sauce. I order creamy artichoke soup. It was fabulous. Served very hot, not spicy but served hot. A bonus for me. It has a creamy lemon chicken base with small pieces of artichoke. It was flavorful but not too rich in nature. I highly recommend this. The cup of soup was very adequate. I also ordered crispy brussel sprouts. Hugh portion with apples, manderine oranges with cheese sprinkled. They provide biscuits which were tender and tasty. We also ordered a ceasars salad with salmon . I had the Lobster Mac & Cheese and added the Scallops (trust me add the scallops) I have traveled all over and I promise you the Scallops were some of the best I have had. We tried a wide array of the menu-seven different entrees and two different appetizers. The crabcakes were good. The nachos were not a thriller; I was disappointed with the quality and build. Everyone loved their entrees...except for me. I tasted a sample of most of the others and enjoyed most of them. I wish I had ordered the scallopini. I had the veal piccata and was disappointed. The look and flavor were both dull..and it did not come out hot. The veal cutlets looked soggy and pale and sat alone on top of the pasta with no sauce or adornments. I picked up no lemon in the dish, and the capers were very light. The angel hair was good. Because it sounded so good, I asked for a small side of mushroom risotto, and it was outstanding. The Gouda Grits were creamy and we could taste the Gouda. The eggs were fresh tasting, scrambled not to hard and not to soft. The gravy was like my grandmothers! First time here. Wanted to enjoy. Husband and I brought our friend that came from out of town. They sat us in the corner where they brought us water. When she came back she took our photo, and said she's never had anyone speak to her that way and she's been in hospitality for 15 years. Seems like it. Apparently I raised my voice too loud and yelled at her. Sorry, no I didn't. It was loud in there and I wanted to get her attention. I also wear hearings aids and I wonder if they could have played a part in my "yelling." I told her it wasn't my intention and she was just full of looks and letting me know how wrong I was. After all of that, with her snarky attitude she said "welcome to Midtown." My husband, friend, and I were all shocked. We got up and left. Just so unfortunate. WOW is all I can say. We are in town for a friend's wedding, and wanted to grab a bite before the festivities began. Both were delicious! The crab cake featured more crab than filler/binding, while the fried green tomatoes were perfectly crisp. I got the lemon artichoke soup, which was a 10/10. Our waitress said the recipe has been passed down for 35 years. Finally, my friend got the shrimp and grits, while I got the Mediterranean pasta. Both were big serving sizes. The broth in the shrimp and grits was so flavorful, as was my Mediterranean pasta. And the biscuits!!! We got biscuits fresh out of the oven, served with whipped butter. Cherry on top was when the check came, our waitress had split our bill according to what we ordered without being asked. Walked in on a Friday morning on a whim and was greeted by the hostess, Tricia. We didn't realize that reservations were recommended since the group behind us did. She found us a small table towards the back of the busy bustling restaurant!! I looked an awe as we were brought to our table, the food looked delicious and the portions were huge. My bf ordered the blood orange martini, (which was well deserved after driving all night to get to Nashville!!). Our waitress, Stephanie was awesome!! She even gave my bf a Arnold Palmer to go!
