I truly enjoy this place. I have not sat inside, but sitting outside is very relaxing. I have a lot/hate relationship with ordering food at the bar because the line can get long. I love the vodka slushies they have, they are very refreshing. I've gone for dinner and brunch. For dinner I had a regular cheese burger and it was delicious and very filling. I went for brunch because it's rare to find a Filipino brunch spot. We all got some sort of breakfast with longanosa and garlic rice and it was great. I will say the Ube pancakes did not taste much different than regular pancakes, but the Carmel drizzle was a nice touch. I do wish they had a coconut syrup option for the pancakes. Place always seems dead inside. Also does anyone know if they make their alcohol from scratch? or is it premade from another company or spot? You'd never know this place is fabulous for brunch, but it is! We were enticed by the ube pancakes, the hashbrown musubi, and the sausage place with eggs and spam. Get it? The new eggs and ham. My friends and I really enjoyed everything, I think the only thing we didn't like was that we had to order at the bar instead of someone coming to the table, but no big deal. The ambiance is good. Midtown Spirits knows what they are doing as far as the ambiance. The drinks are also pretty good as well. The food however is simply "okay". I have had a few things there and nothing really gives me that WOW factor to be honest. Tonight, I tried the Pork Belly Fries and the Sweet Chili Wings. The sweet chili wings were good, I have had better though. There definitely wasn't enough sauce on them. The Pork Belly Fries were a bit disappointing. The Pork Belly itself was good, but the fries were wayyyy too salty and had a strong lemon pepper taste on them which I wasn't a fan of. Like I said, the food is good... But they are missing that dish that just screams WOW. I will say that the service has been good the last 3 times that I have come here. All in all, it's a decent place to have a drink and get the night started, but wouldn't be my first choice for food. read more

First time here today right at opening. Bartender that greeted me was nice. Their brunch menu offered a lot of choices but not enough vegan offerings. I had the ube pancake which honestly is just purple pancakes. It didn't taste anything like ube and for that it's pricey. I found it lacking in taste without the maple syrup or sliced fruits. By itself without any additions, it's nothing to rave about. I ordered the Mangonada because the Orange creamsicle wasn't ready. The Mangonada was lackluster in the alcohol content, lol. I guess I could've asked for two shots but I was hoping one drink would at least get me feeling nice. It's all good. Servers are prompt to pick up empty plates though they do leave you alone for a while to let you finish your food before they start clearing it. They offer outdoor and indoor seating. The spot is adjacent to the Truitt dog park. It was nice to watch dogs play with other dogs while eating breakfast. As with all brunch spots it got a loud as morning turns to noon and cars zipping and passing by. They have two unisex bathrooms. Street parking only. TIPS: go on a Sunday very early AND close out your tab after you order or you'll end up waiting in line trying to close out your tab. I had four rude people stand in front of me acting unaware while I was already in line. I could've made a scene but I didn't feel like ba$*ing someone's head at that moment. I was sooo excited to try this place. We went with a group & just decided to order a bunch of things and share it. We entered around 10am on a Saturday morning and we were seated inside immediately. They also have outdoor seating available. You order and pay at the bar area, and they bring your food to your table. I loved seeing the Hawaii and Filipino fusion here. The Ube pancakes and breakfast musubi were my favorites. The food was made in a timely manner. The quality and presentation was also good. On top of the inside, the outside provides a chill vibe with fresh air and almost makes you feel as if you were on an island in Hawaii. Food - In terms of the food, We got the Ube Pancakes and Loco Moco. I've had a ton of Loco Mocos and Ube Pancakes and I would say these were ok. If I were to provide 1 note, it would be to hopefully get more sauce on both dishes. After awhile the Ube Pancakes were a little dry and hard to chew threw And the Loco Moco meat itself needed to be a little more on the rare side. Nonetheless, it's nothing really to bring down the score, I still think the food is good overall. Service - The bartenders are incredibly nice! I've been looking forward to trying this new spot in Midtown Sacramento and was finally able to come in for Saturday brunch! We got to Midtown Spirits right when they opened so that we could make sure our larger party was able to grab a seat. All seating is first come first serve. The staff was very friendly and walked us through the menu so that we could narrow down what we wanted. We decided on the Ube Pancakes and Loco Moco. The pancakes were refreshing with the fruit and coconut toppings, and I appreciated that they were not drenched in syrup. My favorite part of the Loco Moco was the garlic rice. Well cooked and good flavor. For drinks, we opted for the Capitol Coffee. I don't usually enjoy vodka, but the cold brew and coffee infused vodka made a great brunch cocktail. I almost don't want to review this place because it has these amazing comfort foods and isn't jam packed. First I'll have to say there aren't many places serving ube pancakes so to see it offered is exciting and brings my heart and stomach warmth and joy. The ube pancakes have an almost rice flower consistency meaning it is a bit denser and has a bit of a bite or chew to it. It's quite moist where one could almost mistake it for being undercooked but this is actually the texture. It is topped with a caramelized condensed milk, powdered sugar, berries, pineapple and a bit of coconut. It was spectacular and I'll be making it a regular order when I come back next time! The loco moco is a favorite of mine whenever I can get it. My motherland is Hawaii and if you've ever been you'll know the moco loco is a Hawaiian creation. A burger patty, gravy, eggs, and a side of rice make this dish a mouthwatering salty and savory bite of comfort. Quality of meat is a huge thing for me but given this establishment is more of a bar I'm not gonna dock points on it. The meat was well done and this is what is probably safest if you're not dealing with premier meat. Finally the midtown plate is another Hawaiian inspired plate which has linguisa, spam, thick cut bacon , eggs, and extra crispy hash browns. I LOVED the crisp of the hash brown you can tell that thing was fried with perfect timing and skills. Definitely another go to plate, these three would be my go to meals when looking for a solid breakfast out in midtown. Ok there it is, you've read the review I didn't want to write. This place is severely underrated! P A R K I N G It's not easy to find parking here, it's across from a dog park and parking is in low supply. Our food came out within just a few minutes of ordering, which was impressive as they were pretty busy. My friend and I both ordered the Loco moco, hers regular and mine with the beyond patty. I was so excited to check this place out because the brunch menu sounded like it would be right up my alley, but we were a little disappointed. The good: great space and the workers are happy & friendly. First complaint - the longanisa. Don't call it longanisa when it doesn't look or taste remotely like longanisa! They're more like little breakfast sausages with some weird, smoky flavor. The "spam steak" was just 2 pieces of spam, which I'm totally fine with, but don't call it like it's something grander. That being said, the Midtown Plate was small and not worth it. I will say that the bacon was cooked to perfection. The Hella Loco was just Kinda Loco for me. The beef patty was not seasoned at all; maybe they cooked it that way because it was surrounded by the other salty meats but we weren't a fan. The Ube Pancakes were surprisingly good and I didn't mind the Pork Adobo. We sat at the bar and enjoyed our food. I noticed right away when he asked the group to the right of us if he could get them another round of drinks..Then asked the other couple to the left of us the same. He asked Everyone around us at the bar if he could get them another round of drinks except my husband and I. My drink sat empty the entire meal and I finally had to ask him for a glass of water. Before leaving I mentioned to him what took place and how it made my Husband and I feel, which he apologized, but it would have felt nice to be included...We were literally in front of you the entire time. It wasn't the best feeling. I understand all the staff were super busy, however, if you're asking everyone around us, ask us too, we would have gladly said yes because for one, we wouldn't have to wait in line again, and 2 you're asking everyone else at the bar. We will always come back to Midtown Spirits because we love it there, we just didn't appreciate the service today is all. This restaurant used to be a favorite of mine. It was my go to for brunch all the time at least once a month. I loved their lumpia, ube pancakes, slushies, etc. The most recent time I visited was with my boyfriend and his family, who were visiting. My boyfriend and I ordered our usual go to's, the Ube pancakes and lumpia to share. When we received our food we immediately noticed something was off. When we cut into the pancakes there was a different kind of mushiness to them. Ube and mochi tends to be chewy so it's expected in the pancakes, but this time not only were the pancakes still gooey, but they tasted like raw batter. When I let the waitress know that the pancakes were gooey and seemed not fully cooked, the first thing she said was that's how they should be... I gave her a weird look and let her know they were not good and tasted raw. Then she said she could ask the kitchen to get them remade. So I agreed and waited for the order. Once we got them again I immediately cut into the middle to see if they were better. They were more cooked through the second time but the flavor and texture was definitely different compared to all of the other times we had ordered the pancakes. When the waitress came by to ask how they were I honestly answered and let her know they were not as good as they normally were. She again said they're supposed to be chewy like that so I mentioned the fact that I had actually ordered it several times before and not once have I not enjoyed them. She just made a face, said a high pitched "okay" and walked away. Did not appreciate her attitude and quite disappointed that the pancakes were not as good as before. Will be a long time before I go back to try it again, but hopefully the food and service are better when I do. read more
