Being from the IE (sigh, i know), i am well versed with miguel jr's and their menu. Though its far from being the best burrito/taco joint, this place serves me well. I try not to be nostalgic when it comes to this place, but heck, the flavors and textures were just as i remember them. I had the Miguel's Jr. Original burrito, the burrito lacked flavor. It had more beans than carne asada meat, very little to be exact. (asked for no rice) The beans taste like they are canned and not made at the restaurant, I could make this burrito at home. I really like this place. Family owned. Great menu. Nice location decor. It is right down the street from my office and I love Mexican food, so I couldn't wait for it to open. I have never dined at any of the original Miguels but this place holds it own regardless of affiliation. I often judge places on the most simple of recipes and here it was a basic bean and cheese burrito. Homemade beans, fresh tortilla and just enough cheese and sauce-comfort food 101. I used to live in Costa Mesa for about a year and I would always find myself going to this location every weekend within that year. I feel strongly about their food. When I say that I mean that I feel strongly that their food is super delicious! I always get their chicken enchiladas without beans and when you cut into that enchilada, the chicken is so tasty and moist! It's literally the perfect texture to make that enchilada one of the best enchiladas I've had living in Southern California for almost 17 years. Aside from the food, the service is pretty good and I have no complaints. The service is pretty fast and the food is alwaaays warm! What can I say, I was raised in Corona... of course I'm a fan. I'm so glad it came to OC. BRC is my #1 recommendation for first time visitors with of course, their special hot sauce. Shredded beef taco is a common order in Corona but I've never had it at this location. Their chips are freshly made. What I've always liked about Miguel's Jr. is the condiment cart, very accessible. Spoke with an employee about their opening date... in the next week or so. They said it will be opened for drive-thru until 3am and the restaurant itself will be opened until 11pm. Great for those who need a late night bite. Ambiance is more current and cleaner compared to the locations in Corona. Price is very reasonable and inexpensive. read more

They don't even have a taco Tuesday special whats the deal with that?...The hot sauce was a watery vinegar like taste just half ass made. So I ordered the original burrito without rice and light beans. So my burrito was ready I bit into it and got all rice and beans. So I took it back up and told them my order was wrong so they said they would remake it. They brought my new burrito to me and yep bit into it was all beans with a piece of meat here and there. I ordered the Chili Verde Dinner which came with some of the best chili verde I've had in a while, along with really tasty beans and rice and a huge flour tortilla. The restaurant looks great, the staff was super friendly and I even liked the background music. I'll be coming back for sure. read more

I ordered the garbage burrito with carne asada, and boy was that name apropos. Extremely bland, small portion of meat, and just overall underwhelming for the price. I don't really understand what niche this place falls into. For more "authentic" Mexican food there is el Toro bravo, super pollo, alejandros, and carnitas la villa. For fusion/americanized mexican food there is taco mesa, Baja fish tacos, wahoos and chipotle. For cheap, fake, but decent tasting Mexican food there is del taco and the former occupant of this building, taco bell. All of these places are (or were) in the immediate vicinity and are far superior at accomplishing what they set out to be. Honestly miguels doesn't fit into any of these categories, and frankly I don't see a need for a new category for bland, over-priced, and poser-authentic Mexican food in this densely Mexican food-filled area. Extra star because most of the people here are friendly. However, that being said, my fiancee ordered a garbage burrito with chile verde, which came wrapped in a normal wrapper despite the fact that we ordered it "for here". As is to be expected with Chile Verde, the burrito got quite soggy, but this was to the point where she was having a hard time not eating sogged on paper. A manager came by and asked me how the food was, and I politely suggested that they serve any chile verde items that are ordered "for here" on a plate instead of in the wrapper, since the burrito was so soggy. She went on to tell me that most customers prefer a lot of sauce, which I completely understand, but she totally missed my point. I'm sure we will not be the last people to be turned off by the soggy wrapper issue, so I think it would have been in her best interest to at least consider this suggestion. read more

I don't know what people are talking about saying the food is bland here. It's flavorful, pretty quick, the employees are very friendly, and the prices are right. I've had Mexican food all over. Fast food, sit down and all types and regions. For what this is, it is great. Now I'll be honest I've only tried a handful of things. The burritos (beans/rice) were great, the shredded chix/beef were flavorful and the hot sauce yummy. It was consistent to the other locations as well. Love the chicken brc. They have a Friendly staff and it's usually pretty clean in there. Salsas are just ok but all in all worth the trip.

DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT IT IS COMPLETE GARBAGE! They are extremely overpriced and can't get a simple order correct. I got some beef tacos that had LESS THAN A SQUARE INCH of meat in them.
