I always love the food here, but this visit was not good. I waited for a long time for order inside, no one coming to take orders. This place is good overall-- food comes in huge portions and comparing here to cheaper places (Del Taco/Taco Bell) or sit down restaurants doesn't work too well because it tastes better than most restaurants and serving portions are larger than other drive thru/diner restaurants. I came during COVID and it was extremely disappointing-- smaller portions, food that sat waiting to be served for hours served as though fresh, and upper prices. Thankfully they're more back to how it was prior to COVID-- ok service, good food, and fair prices with some deals to get people coming back. The negative is that they kept the salsa bar closed and it doesn't look like that'll ever change. That being said they should really fix the salsa issue. If you ask for salsa you'll get a whopping 1 oz of salsa per container, which is way too little and requires multiple salsas. You also have to know precisely how many you want to use or you have to keep going up to ask for more, and if you don't ask the cashiers don't ask half the time so you get nothing. Overall ambiance is fine-- feels great when the weather is 100 degrees like today. Still a great place to go when hungry and wanting a meal that will fill you up most of the day. read more

If you haven't stopped by Miguel's you need to!! Fun fact, Miguel's originated in Corona Ca. I grew up on it and was SOO happy when they started making locations in the OC. Their staple is their red salsa (delicious) and their Bean burritos. I know it sounds super basic but I'm telling you they are amazing! I highly recommend their shredded beef tacos as well. So I've never been a steady or frequent diner but my daughter in law loves Miguel's Jr. so we've been eating here way more. Love the high quality food and always always is constantly very good! Super clean and very friendly service always. My only "negative" the music is just a little too loud. Beans are great!! read more

Since my last review, we have been here twice. We noticed the volume has decreased in volume significantly, however, it's still a little too loud when trying to hold conversations. Definitely hit an all time low today. Tried one of their new menu items and should have went elsewhere. The food I received was recognizably microwaved. Miguel's Jr has decent food but also pretty basic and nothing to rave home about. I typically always get their garbage burrito or the bean, rice and cheese burrito. Both satisfy my cravings but again, basic. I love that their locations have a drive thru though! Super convenient and the lines always go quick. Their hot sauce always hits! Professional and friendly staff. Everytime I come in they are attentive and quick. The building is clean from top to bottom. Never had any issues with dirty tables or trash. Which is an amazing surprise from fast food chains these days. It feels more like a mom and pop even tho it's not. Great experience everytime I've been. Ok so for drive thru Mexican food it was always a go to if I was craving a good steak burrito or nachos. But I have to say as of late their sizes are shrinking, their meat is almost nonexistent, and their prices are still high for what you're getting. Their steak quality has also dropped. Used to have a lot of big chunks of fresh tasting steak. Now it tastes reheated, and tougher. It's not a one time deal. It been roughly the last four times. May be time to hang this one up. Never going here again, I waited 15 mins though the drive through, only one person was ahead of me and I was at the window for such a long time. I asked for limes and the girl gave me two small lemons which took them an extra five minutes to give to me, not only that I ordered a bean and cheese burrito that was poorly made, way too much beans and cheese and I could barely eat it, it was such a mess. They need to turn the music down. We come here every week for lunch, and the music is load enough that it's hard to have a discussion at your table. It's also hard to hear the order number called. Quality of food has really gone down since the last time we've eaten here a couple of months ago. Ordered their loaded fries with carne asada. When we received it the fries were all clumped together because it was cooked too HOT, too fast and the carne asada was over seasoned, as it was super spicy and cold in temperature. Sent it back to see if i could order something else and the lady behind the counter was nice with asking what I'd like instead. I decided on the tostada with the some of the same guacamole on top like the loaded fries I paid $13.99. When i got the tostada it was filled high with shredded lettuce and a thin meat and bean concoction spread on the taco shell with white shredded cheese instead of the yellow taco cheese I thought it would have. There wasn't any guacamole piled on top - only small chucks of an under ripped avocado-no tomatoes and the white cheese was bare minimum. And they gave a bag of chips I guess what they thought would make up the $13.99 difference. My husband got a two choice meal which consisted of a taco and beef enchilada with only rice and he said it didn't taste as good in quality, as we always had previous experienced at this location. I also had initially ordered a chile releno a la cart and the size of the chile wasn't as nearly as large, as in our previous visits either. Just a very disappointed experience at this Orange location when the inside dining area wasn't that crowded. It was 7:45pm when we arrived. The drive thru was being the mostly used during our entire visit here in Orange. I guess if we want to eat at Miguel's we'll just have to go to the other location in Santa Ana, as it has been THE best location we've had in experience for quality and customer service. Made a mistake on my order and instead of remaking it they just took out most of the seasoned meat and put the chicken on it. It didn't taste great because the seasoning was still on the food. Went through drive through at 730. Greeted by automated message telling me it's closed. Was driving away when I noticed someone coming out. It's open so I said no biggie ill go in and get my food. Looked around for hours but none were listed and no open/closed sign to be seen anywhere. Order a machaca chicken burrito, chicken bites(no price anywhere) and reg taco and a drink to go. Waited about 20 minutes before I got up to ask for my drink. Randolfo the cashier has a blank look on his face, repeat myself that I wanted my drink while I wait. Continue to wait before another customer comes to tell me my food has been sitting on the shelf for awhile and I should ask for it. I go up and wait patiently another 5 minutes before staring at Randolfo to make sure he sees I'm looking at the food before he makes the connection. He grabs my food and I ask him to make sure its at least warm still. Says it is, I advise him the other customer let me know how long it's been sitting there. Gives me the food no apologies or nothing. Not cheap food, I would expect at least the minimum for customer service and that failed spectacularly. This location is in a busy area off of Tustin and Katella. Parking is fairly easy and plentiful here, however I would recommend parking closer to the store as their drive-thru line can get long and if you're parked towards the back you're pretty much stuck until the drive-thru line dies down. I recently visited and ate in store on Monday, national nacho day! I also recommend following their Instagram account because they'll post their most up to date deals on their social media which is how we find out about their specials. On Monday, 11/06/23 they were selling their nachos for $6. I was able to pre-order on their website (they don't have an app) and set my pick-up time for 4 hours later. When I arrived, they were wrapping up my order. I asked to add a regular drink to my order and the gentleman at the register gave it to me on the house! This location is also close to the 55 freeway so if you're in the area and are hungry I'd recommend Miguel's Jr's crunch tacos or their shredded beef nachos. Looking for Tamale's? keep on looking. Ordered one pork and one spicy chicken. Ok,4.50 a piece, I expected to get a good tamale. I got masa wrapped in a husk with as little meat that they could get away with. The pork was seriously , a swath of pork juice or brine maybe to add some color and flavor and a very small piece of meat. All you tasted was the masa. Wow, look at that chicken one as I unwrapped it, it's dripping liquid, I anticipated flavor and meat. Well it did have more meat than the other one but not much. It looked pretty skimpy on the protein . I would say the chicken was better than the pork. Now, I don't mind the cost, but for goodness sake serve your customers something, anything that resembles some protein. What do you have invested in a tamale, masa is cheap, then the husks. They gave me some hot sauce which you needed to have your tamale taste like something. So basically I had two tamales, one red sauce and one green sauce. El Modena is right around the corner. I would wager any lady over there could and does make killer tamales, why not ask one for some pointers. read more

I've been here several times and always get the nachos. Most of the time it's good, but this time when I placed my order, and then got to the drive-up cashier window, I waited about 3 - 4 minutes for anyone to open the window. They finally did, and then asked me to repeat my order again, which I did, closed the window, came back a couple of minutes later and asked me to go park and wait in the #1 pick-up spot. I did, and waited for another 3 - 4 minutes. They then brought my order to the car. I opened the bag and the meal only to find that the cheese on top was melted, but the cheese underneath was not and almost cold. Based off what I ate I wouldn't return. I ordered the nachos with chicken. The chicken was dry, perhaps that's how it's supposed to be. But when do you slap all the refried beans UNDER the nachos. To keep them from sliding around? That wasn't possible as it fill the box it came in. Maybe I'm too white to know how Mexicans each their nachos but for me this is a no go. Despite the negative reviews, I decided to give it a try because you never know... The person who took my order over the drive-through was absolutely wonderful. Made suggestions and everything because I told him it was my first time and asked what he recommended. His name was Juan. Sadly, the burrito was absolute disgusting. That's not Juan's fault so I hope he gets a job somewhere else. I tasted it first then I opened it ...the carne asada was old and grayish. I didn't even want to give it to my dog . My experience was terrible! I just went through the drive-through with my parents, and we waited for 10 minutes without anyone taking our order. When someone finally came out, they didn't greet us; they just asked, "What do you guys want?" It was rude. I was there today picking up an order from Uber eats and the customer service was way off. I had to report them to Uber because even the manager Evelyn was rude and hung up on me when I had called to let her know what was going on. When I got there to pick up the order, I believe her name is Germinia or she probably gave me the wrong name gave me the order and I asked to make sure everything was there because it was a big order she said yes, gave me the bag and told me to confirm the order which I did as I was leaving she grabbed the bag and said to hold on Because it was the wrong order. She had me wait there and another lady came didn't even give her name and was ALSO rude and told me to call Uber and I said no because it wasn't my fault and they should check the order receipt. She said she was gonna go call Uber eats which she lied because a customer was at the drive-through window and Herminia or whatever her name is gave them the bag and gave me the other bag and said oh never mind they already came for this other order here you go. I had to wait there an extra 10 minutes and I already had confirmed the order so my other order was running 10 minutes behind. That is unacceptable because time is our money. I hope the owner speaks to these ladies because their behavior today is unprofessional and rude.
