We had a great experience for lunch at Mika today. The restaurant decor is very attractive and welcoming. Service was outstanding, starting with the reception desk, our servers and restaurant manager. They were all very attentive and promptly took care of every request we made. And the food was delicious. We tried the sea scallops appetizer, and the mushroom risotto and branzino as entrees. Everything was excellent, well prepared and presented. We also liked the fact they have a Fixed price lunch menu with 2 options: $42 - appetizer and entree $48 - appetizer, entree and dessert It is a pretty good deal considering what they deliver. Highly recommended!

I finally made it to Chef Michael White's elegant MIKA in Coral Gables. I ended-up here on a Monday night following a book event with acclaimed author and scholar, Dr. Ibram X. Kendi. The restaurant was a bit better than half-full at 9:30p.m. One large table was celebrating a birthday, and everyone else appeared to be couples. There was no one at the grand bar when we arrived. We had a wonderful, very knowledgeable server. Our table was attended by two others and the Sous Chef and GM came by to check on us throughout our meal. I began by ordering my signature Belvedere martini which was made perfectly. We started with the octopus which was full of flavor. The sauces added to the bold explosion in my mouth. It was slightly more chewy than I am used to. We ordered two mains, the spaghetti with crab and caviar, and the Dover Sole. As I ate the spaghetti, I thought I would have kept cooking the pasta in fear. Thus, I am not a chef. It was so flavorful -- we both wanted more! The fish was also very flavorful, with a sauce that had capers, I think. To accompany my fish, I had a great glass of Chardonnay (remind me to get the name, later). We finished the night with the Panna Cotta and a chocolate mousse dish, both so beautiful I had to take pictures, even though this was not a photograph your food crowd. I could have bathed in both. I would have rolled around on the floor in both, they were that good! I gave MIKA four stars because the octopus was slightly tough and everything was just a bit over salted for my taste. I don't mind paying $100+ for Dover Sole, but it should be de-boned/fileted table-side. Service was exceptional and the restaurant is a monochromatic heaven. I look forward to trying MIKA again very soon.

Amazing place. The food never disappoints and the service was great! We'll definitely be back.

The food was top tier! Went for Miami spice and had a great time. My only issue is that service is super slow. We were there for almost 3 hours. But the food was so worth it. The dinning room is stunning. They have a great wine list.

Mika is a beautiful restaurant! Located in the heart of coral gables it is dimly lit, has a beautiful bar, and spacious seating. Our waiter came quickly, but he was rude and stressed. I am able to overlook him because the food was delicious. The bread service was delicious with flaky, soft focaccia w/ herbs and a whipped butter/cream dip. So good. Then he had the caesar salad. the spicy breadcrumbs added a nice touch. The meat was juicy and tasty and cooked to perfection with a side of mushrooms. The black truffle pasta was amazing! Definitely get this! Incredible to pair with the meat. I had seen a picture of the mini ice cream cones, but it was not on the menu. I asked the waiter if we could order, he lied to my face to say they were out of stock. Then i look at the table of girls next to me and guess what they are eating... CONES! The water boy let the cat out of the bag-- that the manager only gives them to "special people". So i asked to speak to the manager, and then the cones showed up. Very unprofessional and this broke my trust. But at least I got the cones. But we also got the tiramisu and it was the top 5 ive ever had, delicious! Moral of the story-- still go for the food, but dont expect honesty from the waitstaff.

Mika is 5 star dining , hands down! Definitely ask for the specials, although their regular menu is great . We had the tagliatelle (with shaved white truffles which happened to be in season) in a light butter sauce. This dish was literally mind blowing !!! I've had many versions at different restaurants, through the years and this one superseded the finest one we've ever experienced ( at cafe Milano in Washington DC back in the early 2000's!) Their bread service is fresh & delicious and complimentary ! It's accompanied by a ricotta / olive oil spread. We asked and were told one of chef Mike white ' s signature dish is the saffron gnocchiette , so we ordered that , as well. My husband raved about it , adding he would never have chosen that particular dish off of the menu. He was so happy we asked about the special s from an Italian server! He would've ordered the mushroom risotto, which now gives us another reason to return ! My white truffle pasta was so beyond that i couldn't bare the thought of tasting anything else ! I had it in my mind to have a side of wild mushrooms with the pasta , but we obviously boxed this up for later. Their gelato is the best I've had , as well , but didn't order it this evening because the taste of the white truffle pasta was perfection! ... next time ! I've dined at Mika several times with girlfriends for lunch, dinner with my husband in the dining room, and have also enjoyed pasta and wine at the bar. The ambience here is beautiful , modern and classy.

Mika is a lovely restaurant located in Coral Gables. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful. The decor inside the restaurant was clean and elegant. They also had convenient street parking and valet available. We went to lunch during the week. The restaurant was quite full and we made sure to have a reservation. They have a lunch menu that includes options for two or three course meals. We ordered the three course. I had the octopus appetizer, branzino entrée and the panna cotta dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious. Even the bread that is provided for the table was very toasty and had an olive oil and citrus flavor. To complement the bread, they had a ricotta spread that was just perfect. Highly recommend Mika.

Starting the year with a seriously memorable bite Dinner at Mika's did not disappoint. The service was impeccable and the ambiance is top notch. Silky wagyu crudo, a perfectly cooked Dover sole, and a menu that truly doesn't miss. One of those meals you keep thinking about long after the last bite. Foodies--add this to your list.

Nice for a special occasion - THE PLACE: Located in Coral Gables, plenty of paid street parking is available, but can be tricky to find. The restaurant is beautiful and very aesthetic for simple pictures. Bar, tables & booths available. THE FOOD: We came to have my husbands birthday lunch, and found that the restaurant had a 2-course and 3-course menu. We went with the 2 course, which involves an app and the entree. For apps, we went with the grilled octopus 4/5, & little gem Caesar 5/5 - honestly this was the bets Caesar salad ive ever had, from taste to texture! Both apps were a good size and shareable between two people. For entrees, my husband had the chicken Caesar Milanese 5/5 incredible! Youve never had this dish, unless you've had it here! EXTREMELY fresh, crispy, moist - so good! I had the skirt steak 4/5 good portion, tender, and had a nice char taste at the top - the salad that came with it was ok, not bad, but not great- the leaves got soggy quickly too. I also had fries, and those were good, crispy outside, soft inside and salted well. THE SERVICE: Service was ok, good, but left more to be desired. Upon entering, the host (which I think was the owner or manager) was fantastic. Upon seating, the waiter came a few mins after - I didnt get his name, and he handed the the menus to us and left. There wasnt an introduction, a welcome or recommendations or any form - I hated that. It makes the guest feel unimportant. The team came, and brought us bread with riccotta spread 5/5. The waiter came back and got our drink order and didn't seem as rigid, but not very conversational - spoke to a minimum and had his personality switch off. When we placed our entrée order, I had to ask for recommendations and house favorites - instead of it being freely offered. Yes, these may be considered small things, but changes the experience of the guest and weather they would return or recommend a restaurant.

Ever since I saw Mika pop up, I immediately added it to my list of must try spots and I'm so glad I did! We came here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday, and it ended up being the perfect choice for the special occasion. The space is absolutely stunning. Modern, warm, and beautifully designed, with an ambiance that strikes the right balance between upscale and relaxed. We got some cocktails and my boyfriend ordered an old fashion to start, which we both enjoyed. We ordered the tuna tartare with caviar and Japanese milk bread, along with the grilled octopus that came with crispy potatoes and a chorizo vinaigrette. I honestly can't tell you which one was better! They wete both insanely good and every bite was flavorful, and beautifully presented. For the main course, we shared the 24 oz Ribeye and got a side of the truffle potato purée. The steak was cooked to perfection, super tender, juicy and not that fatty. The potatoes were velvety and rich and had the perfect hint of truffle to complement the steak. I had every intention of trying one of their pastas, but I was way too full , even skipped dessert, which is rare for me! Luckily, when we mentioned it was my boyfriend's birthday, they brought out a dessert on the house, which was such a thoughtful touch. I already can't wait to come back but next time, I'm definitely making room for the pasta!

Mika was delicious! I came to Mika for lunch to try their set menu and it was incredibly good. Portions are just right and you will not leave hungry. As soon as we arrive for our reservation our table was ready as promised. The wine list is excellent... lots of wines, most over $125 but a great selection. Their set menu is about 45 for a 3 course experience which was just perfect. We had for appetizers the hamachi tiradito and the lobster burrata. Both were delicious. For our main course we had the branzino which comes with grilled asparagus and also the fresh pasta with crab meat and seafood. (I forgot the actual name) everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. For dessert I recommend having the chocolate cake. It is creamy, luscious and indulging without being too sweet. Definitely recommend coming here.

We wanted to try the tuna tartar sampler and Galapagos Brujo but they had ran out. They also ran out of the Baklava for dessert and replaced it with tres leche. Which I was happy about because the tres leche was delicious. One of the best tres leche I've had. The croquetas and cevichito were also very tasty. I would definitely order them again. The crab bisque was rich in flavors. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and creamy lentil moro that it came with was delicious as well. The chopsue was okay but I do not think I would order it again. My friend loved it though. The service was great. My friend and I were talking for hours and not once were we rushed. Enter fresh Florida fisheries I popped in on Saturday morning and was immediately impressed how fresh all of the seafood looked and how organized it was basically you order at the counter. The staff is super knowledgeable and they will prep your fish for you however you like. Then they give you a number for your order when you pay, and then you wait for your number to be called. I knew I was looking for for tuna, and my eyes definitely wandered at the selection of fish! The person who helped me was super friendly, suggested the amount that I should be ordering for the party size and was able to clean the fish for me. I also thought that the price was super reasonable for fresh locally caught tuna it was 2499 a pound I got a little bit under 3 pounds for just around $70 and it was incredible. I will definitely be back to explore more of the seafood options that they have. Fish is something that I love to eat, but don't often buy from a grocery store because I get a little weirded out at the quality. Knowing that this is so close to my house with high-quality fish for a great price will make me a returning customer for sure. Parking is pretty chill and easy in their front lot and I'm sure you can park down the street if it's a really busy day. Will be back.

If so, I…read morewould have come at a time where I was hungry and for a mere five dollars had them prepare my meal for me. But that being said, I found it to be a very nice fish market. Now there is a huge downside that you immediately encounter when you arrive. The parking lot is exceptionally small and people are parked every which way, except in the spaces. Getting to the actual building will take some time. The neighboring lots have pretty clear signs that they will tell you if you park there. So you're stuck dealing with what it is. The fish variety is good, although not great. If you're looking for strictly local fish, you'll probably find what you want. Several varieties of snapper and the fish looked wonderful and fresh. Some of my favorites like hogfish and grouper. You can buy the whole fish and they'll fillet it for you or you can buy fillets if they have them of the fish that you want. But the part I missed is having them cook it for me. Now that is something I would like to try next time The downside is they strictly local fish. You won't find any flatfish and I was surprised that they did not have any U4 or U6 shrimp which I like to use to make paella. In addition, I did not see fresh scallops. They did have some nice lobster tails although I did not see other shellfish. Some people have said the prices are reasonable; I found them about 20 to 30% higher than other fish markets I visit. The people here are really nice in the market is attractive. I will be back as I said to get a meal cooked for me in part because it is closer than the fish markets I usually visit and also my curiosity after reading other reviews. I recommend this market if you have the patience to wait for a parking space. If you're looking for the larger shrimp for paella look elsewhere

After she explained the menu and made recommendations, she offered to course our plates out accordingly so it wouldn't arrive all at once. Five stars to Melody for taking great care of us. Now to the food... We started things off with the pan con tomate with Serrano Ham and manchego cheese. Although this is a staple of tapas dining in Spain I had never tried it and was impressed with the depth of flavor and the different notes that it offered. It was excellent and I highly recommend it. Next was the gambas al ajillo which are broiled shrimp in a garlicky pepper butter sauce. These were also excellent, so much so we ordered another batch, Then we tried the Albondigas which were Pork and beef meatballs, with manchego, tomate sauce. These were good but proved to be our least favorite of everything we tried. Next was the datiles rellenos which were bacon wrapped dates with a small salad. These were very good Lastly we ordered the Serrano ham croquettes which came with a wonderful fig jam. These proved to steal the show. Hands down 5 stars! Because it was happy hour until 7pm, I got a Spanish beer (Mahou) and a wonderful glass of Malbec for $6 each. The total bill for all this before tip was $112 which was well worth it for an extraordinary meal with great variety. I highly recommend this restaurant!

They just melt in your mouth and you end up ordering more, right? RIGHT. The same goes for the Spanish omelette. One of their signature dishes and one they do really well here. Now as far as the cochinillo hash, I had mixed feelings about it. Take the potatoes and poached egg out of the equation, the braised shredded pork was either overcooked or maybe even burned a little. It was super dry and if it weren't for the egg I think I would have not been able to eat even half of it. It had a bitter after taste. Maybe I should've said something but it was too hectic in there to say the least. Perhaps I should've give it another chance. Ended with their famous and arguably one of the most delicious churros in town and it was all washed down with their refreshing red sangria.

Between their Spice menu and happy hour, I eventually found myself surrendering by dessert. Stellar flavors, great variety and enough to top you off. Let me highlight that instead of the typical bread rolls or chimps they have these divinely seasoned pickles that are simply addicting, maybe I had more than I should but much less filling choice than bread right?! I was flip-flopping between the Miami Spice and happy hour menus because who can honestly say no to $3 beers? I did eventually decide on their Lychee Nigori which was smooth, light and rather refreshing. Their crispy rice sampler came topped with spicy salmon, spicy tuna, spicy hamachi and spicy crab, and then came the hand rolls. I loved the little detail of serving them wrapped in a plastic sheet that you slide off from either side to preserve the crispness of the seaweed. It's a small touch that was highly appreciated on our table. Their Faroe Islands salmon and yellowfin tuna in both nigiri and hand rolls was incredibly fresh with such a clean presentation. Simplicity really does make you appreciate the flavors that much more. Between their Sushi Combo and Premium Combo, my friend and I were in sushi heaven. Naturally, as full as we felt we still managed a bite of their matcha and pistachio Rice Krispie treat and warm Liger's Cookie. That cookie was pretty amazing. My only tip would be mindful of parking. It's not the easiest to navigate without wondering if you'll come back to a warning on your car in the garage if all the paid street parking is taken but happy to say happened on our weekday evening meetup. A very good experience of superiorly fresh sushi and friendly service. I was definitely proven wrong about leaving a sushi dinner full, which is what the guys in my family would say. Sounds like a return is in sight, just so I can prove them very wrong.
