I had basically everything wrong with my car when I came in and no one else could help (not diesel knowledgeable like these guys!) so when I found mikes foreign car I was so happy. Not only did one of the service guys Daniel help me, he searched the vin number on my car just in case there were warranties on the car to see if he can save me money on the repairs, he walked me through everything. My water pump was out, my coolant reservoir was cracked and my belts were all scathed. I even had a nail in my tire. He replaced and repaired everything and quickly (even washed my car) Thought I would have to get a new catalytic converter as well but he cleaned inside it and it's all brand new again! We drive all the way from San Clemente to take our cars here....that's a ~45 minute drive for me, but it's worth it. Josh is the man. He makes my '72 VW Super-beetle and '99 VW Eurovan run like new. I needed to get the AC compressor fixed for my Mercedes-Benz R350. I brought the car in to get an estimate at a repair shop in Lake Forest (where we lived at the time) & got a quote for $1700+. $1700+ was the lowest estimate that I could find in that area, too. I also got an estimate for $1600 for a trusted auto repair place in Burbank. We have had a great experience with this particular auto repair shop, so we had it in mind to drive all the way up there, as soon as we finished relocating to Yorba Linda. The relocation had some complications & everything took a lot longer than fathomable. Several months passed & we found ourselves in the thick of this June heat. And since then, gas prices have sky-rocketed. In an effort to get the ball rolling on the repair, I looked up auto repair shops in & around Yorba Linda & I submitted a message to Mike's Foreign Car in Anaheim through Yelp. I clicked the option to send the message to nearby auto repair shops for additional quotes. In addition that, I called around to different auto repair shops to ask for quotes, as well. Since I had already gotten a full diagnostic assessment of the car in Lake Forest, I had a good idea that all I needed was an AC compressor, a receiver drier, & refrigerant. That simplified things a bit. BY THE GRACE OF GOD, Josh at Mike's Foreign Car responded to my Yelp message within MINUTES & quoted me $1350. I was also really impressed that this great quote did not require any "price matching" request or negotiating of any kind. The estimate was fair & honest. Not only that, Josh was courteous, friendly, helpful, & just all-around pleasant to do business with. I sent my husband a message to let him know that I felt really good about Josh at Mike's Foreign Car & that I wanted to make an appointment to bring the car in. While I waited for my husband's response, I received estimates from other repair shops in the area & the quotes I got ranged from $1800-$2100+. This was just further confirmation that choosing Mike's Foreign Car was the right choice. Josh said that we could drop the car off the very next morning. We did just that & the car was ready by the early afternoon. EASY AS PIE! I took an Uber to get to Mike's & for a minute, I thought that I might arrive after the shop closed (5PM). I called Josh to ask if he could wait a few minutes for me & he was so accommodating. Fortunately, I made it there right at 5PM, but knowing that Josh was willing to stay open for me felt like such a great display of over-&-beyond excellence in customer service. When I received the final bill, I had a brief thought like, "I hope I am not charged for some surprise additional charges." After all, it all seemed too good to be true. I looked at the bill & everything was perfect: no tricks, no surprises, & no problems. I was ELATED, impressed, & downright heart-warmed. Being heart-warmed is not something I ever expected to feel at an auto repair shop, but I have MUCH LOVE for Josh at Mike's Foreign Car. The bottom line is he was fair & honest, through & through. Mike's Foreign Car has earned a customer for life. As long as the shop is in business, we will be reaching out to Josh any time we need service on our cars. Between the two of us, my husband & I have eight cars. I will actually be calling, next week, to arrange to bring in another one of our cars. As a VW owner, having to rely on the few local dealerships is a total cr@pshoot on quality and cost, so I had been looking for a good independent mechanic. My horns needed repair/replace and I found Mike's not only had excellent reviews but was close enough to me that I could actually walk if I had to. So I paid for a complete job but got an unfinished, undrivable car. He no longer wants to work on older cars. This place was awesome. The reviews here are legit. While they were not able to solve my issue because it is only able to be done by an Audi dealership, they worked several hours trying to identify the issue that kept my check engine light on. They were very thorough and determined it was a ECM issue. Audi is notorious for creating issues that only they have they ability to repair. My personal opinion is that Congress should make this illegal, so it doesn't kill small business shops like Mike's. But I digress. Mike's charged me nothing although they spent a lot of time trying to figure it out. They also provided me a free air filter. To Josh and the crew, thank you. During a trip to the bay area, my son's 2010 Passat experienced some major engine damage. I was contemplating junking the car and getting him another one or replacing the engine. after researching the potential cost of both, I ultimately decided to get the engine replaced and I set a budget to do so. I took it to a neighborhood shop and they said it didn't need an engine but they would not fix it. So I found Mike's on the internet and set an appointment. I took it to Mike's and within two days they called me with the issue and the cost to fix it. The price was below my budget. They fixed it in a couple of days and I picked it up. before I left, Josh informed me that they warranty their work for 24 months or 12K miles. I live about 20 miles from Mike's. After leaving the shop and before I got home, the engine lost oil pressure and threw a rod. I had it towed back to Mike's. Josh called me the next day and told me that it needed an engine and he was going to give me credit for my previous work even though he was pretty sure that the cause was unrelated to the work that they had done. WHAT A STANDUP GUY AND AN ACT OF SHEER INTEGRITY! They replaced the engine and now it runs like a brand new car!!
