    Tar oil

Stay away from these criminals if you want a car that runs! We had been getting the oil changed there for over a year religiously. Then, one day while on the road the car just stopped running and would not turn over. We took it the dealer thinking that whatever the issue was that it would be covered by the warranty. Wrong! They removed the engine cover and found that the oil was super thick and dark. Basically tar. They denied the claim and called it engine neglect. Need new engine and the cost to replace it will be 10k. Basically they added old oil or maybe even nothing at all.

Friendly service, honest mechanics they show you exactly what they're doing and even the parts they're replacing. You can also tell a lot about a mechanic in how they organize the shop, which is very well kept and clean, highly recommend! :)

So Far So good.... It was my dad that suggested this location because of its prices. I paid $27.90 out the door for my Toyota SUV. Hey! With the economy nowadays, gotta save whenever you can. Also, the guys seem genuine towards what your car really needs and not just trying to score a quick buck.

Never take your car here! They changed my oil and left a wrench in my car which got lodged in the drive shaft causing it to not turn and stall and smoke. I called and talked to manager and owner, they denied it and told me to figure it out even though I have their tool and photos of Everything also pictures of their tools in their shop and proving it was their tool. They did not take any ownership of their careless mistake!

I was hoping it just needed a Freon recharge. After checking the A/C system, Frank confirmed that the Freon was just low and everything else looked good. Luckily, her older car uses the newer, less expensive Freon. I just hung out while he recharged the system, and it was ready to go about 20 minutes later. The cost was only $150, money well spent to get ice cold air conditioning back. The most recent visit was to troubleshoot a service error code and ABS and brake warning lights. I was hoping this would just be a sensor on one of the wheels, but Frank said it looked like the main ABS ECU unit was faulty. Given the potential cost of the repair, it didn't make sense given the value of the car. I appreciated his honest opinion. He said there was no charge, but I still tipped him for his time because he always takes great care of me. I have tried a few other shops in the area over the years, and had initial good experiences. However, they all eventually gave me an estimate I knew as wrong, or didn't do work they said they did. I've been going to Frank ever since, and trust him 100%. If you need a top notch mechanic, Frank is your guy!

They told me I needed a new set of tires so I should just replace them all. I told them I just got my tires 2 years ago from the dealership. They said the dealership sold me tires that were in storage for 2 years before I got them (pointed to the date of manufacturing) and that warps the tires due to being in the sun and whatnot. Lucky for me they had a great deal on 4 tires for $1100. Why didn't I question any of this? The guy seemed very nice and I was so stressed from having a flat tire and blocking traffic for 30 minutes and very frazzled so I just agreed. After about an hour the guy tells me I need new front brake pads as they've worn down to 1mm. I told him I just got new brake pads one year ago. He shakes his head and tells me whoever installed them must've given me poor quality brake pads or I'm an aggressive driver. I tell him I'm not interested but he keeps insisting telling me if I didn't replace them now it would cause "metal on metal" and destroy my rotors and I would be causing way more serious damage which would become costly. Did I want to pay a few hundred dollars now to replace the pads or thousands later because I didn't do what I was supposed to? I don't know anything about cars. Don't even know what brake pads look like at this point and he's talking fast and showing me the pads and acting extremely concerned about my welfare and last thing I wanted was another big expense so I agreed. I asked him to take pictures of my pads with my phone which he did and while they're fixing my car I called up the place that originally did my brakes and of course they defend themselves. Who am I to believe? I Google some pictures of worn brake pads to compare to the pictures of my own and what I saw on my car, and it really looks to me that my original brake pads look quite new! I estimated that the part I'm actually supposed to measure was about half an inch just based on what I actually saw in person while he was talking fast and taking the pictures, which Google tells me is actually equivalent to 8mm! I get upset and ask them to bring my old brake pads out and I want them to measure and show me exactly where it's 1mm and of course they bring out pads that look nothing like my picture. I told them these don't look anything like what's in my picture- they're not my pads and also not 1mm- they were 2 or 3 but still way thinner than what I had just seen on my car and in the pictures. It also took them a long time to find my brake pads even though they just took them off. It was at that point I realized they were complete liars and I wasn't going to get anywhere with them at this point and I was made a fool. Then they tell me they're getting my new pads from some warehouse and it'll be here soon. Of course before I signed the papers they told me all the parts were already there and should be done quickly. I asked them why are parts being delivered when they said all were in stock?! Oh because they meant the parts are here locally in Southern California. Lies after lies. I can go on but I'll stop here. It isn't just the fact that I got scammed into getting new brake pads and possibly new tires, but also the fact that I probably had legit pads in there already and they might have replaced it with $hitty ones because at this point I would expect no less from this place. They prey on women and elderly (I saw an elderly man in a walker come in crying about having paid for 4 new tires but they only replaced 1 and left him with 3 old tires. I don't know how and if that was resolved so won't comment more on that). I also notice there are some five star reviews here from people who came in to get a new tire but also left with new brake pads much like my own situation. They're probably giving 5 star reviews not knowing they were talked into replacing perfectly fine brake pads. Save your money headache and the feeling of being gaslit up your a$$ and go elsewhere. I've attached a pic of my pads- you be the judge.

Also said I needed an oil change and spark plugs. Got Alternator done at Firestone and everything was good. Drove straight to Jiffy Lube for oil change and spark plugs. They eventually called me outside to tell me that they did the oil change, but then they did the spark plugs and now the car was making a loud repetitive knocking noise. The first employee asked what I wanted to do, and asked if I wanted them to put the old spark plugs back. I was still in shock and then the manager came over (bald guy). He explained the noise again and I asked if they put the old plugs back will it stop. Manager guy says they dont even know if they're usable because they have been disposed of and contaminated now, but like, the first employee suggested it to begin with? Then he was like "we're gonna have to move your car to the other bay because we're busy right now." So more waiting, and they tell me that the car will need to be towed out. Like what? What the heck is going on? So now I'm waiting for the tow truck, and another employee (younger) comes over to me to apologize and try to explain different scenarios as to what the problem is. But it was grasping at straws. It could be this, it could be that. But at the end of the day, something happened in that Jiffy Lube bay. I left Firestone and easily drove over to Jiffy Lube with a quiet, working engine. And somewhere in whatever Jiffy Lube did to it, my engine became undrivable. After nearly 4 hours at Jiffy Lube, the tow truck finally arrived and we towed it straight back to Firestone. They're still doing the diagnostic and its looking like an engine swap is going to be needed now, but they also asked what the heck did Jiffy Lube do because when the car left Firestone that morning it was fine, and now 5 hours later after Jiffy Lube did something it was not fine. Oh, and Jiffy Lube charged me for their labor that occured while they were 'working' on the car. I'm still waiting on official diagnostic tests but next step will contacting the CA Bureau of Automotive Repair.
