TLDR: Back in the brunch rotation! So... my family has a tradition. Well... before the lockdown, we would go out and have brunch every Sat. That changed permanently. So now I would order online or by phone, go pick it up and bring it home so we can spend family time watching cooking shows on Netflix together. Much better than having to make awkward conversations while waiting at a diner. Soooooo, anyway, this is explaining how we developed a stable of breakfast diners, in and around NE SJ. This place was on there for a while, but we had dropped it. But I thought I'd give this a try. And.... it's BACK BABEE! I had the corned beef hash and eggs. I like this style of corned beef hash, where it's not home-made, with the stringy beef. I like it mush, like from a can, but then pan-fried so it's crispy on the outside. This is like that. It also comes with FOUR EGGS! With egg prices, that's insane! But the eggs were scrambled fluffy. The hash browns taste good as well, none of that old oil smell. My wife ordered the omelet.. again FOUR EGGS. It was MASSIVE, but still light and fluffy. I think overall, it was a great enjoyable brunch, and we will definitely be adding it to our rotation! read more

Came here for brunch with my goddaughter. The customer service was good. Though they sat us earlier by accident and then asked us to get up and continue to wait. But mistakes happen cause they were really busy. The vibe was active with lots of good energy in the space. The food was great. I ordered a tuna melt which was 9/10. Retro decor, vintage pictures, booth style seats, and counter seating available. The service is very friendly and attentive. Better from the years, when we first visited. When they have time, they actually stop and chat with their customers. Something you don't see nowadays. Anthony, the owner, is very friendly and personable! I ordered the Corned Beef Hash and Eggs. You have a choice of your style and choice of toast, English muffin, or pancake. I got my eggs poached and a pancake. The portion size was generous. Had a random craving for some comfort diner food and saw Mil's Diner as a popular spot where I was running errands. I ordered over the phone and got the 50-50- 2 bacon and 2 sausages with 3 scrambled eggs, hash browns, and 2 French toast pieces (about $18 before tip). The vibes inside was a classic, old school diner and kept up clean and spacious. It was almost like a blast from the past when I stepped in and it spoke to its authentic-ness as an establishment. The staff was really friendly and it seemed like they were familiar with a few regulars that were dining that day. My order came out piping hot and was packaged well. I was pleasantly surprised with the food and quality of the food. It was not greasy at all and was exactly what I wanted. The French toast was popular based off reviews and it really was outstanding- fluffy and retained its structure despite being a bit cold by the time I got to it. I came here because it's a very popular diner in Milpitas and one of my friends been here. So I decided to give it a go. I like how classical the restaurant is to give it an old-style American vibe. I think that it's best to not modernize it so that those type of diners don't die out. It was packed when I got here and seems that they serve good food here. The place seems to be quite small here. I like how we get to see servers get food from the cookers when we sit at the counter. I haven't had French toast for a while and so I decided to order it. It is not too sweat and like how the butter floats. Even the taste is top notch. Eggs and sausages are decent, but that's good though. PRO TIP: Put your name down as Cody if you want to skip ahead of the line. Host/management definitely plays favorites. Look out for those names with a ( ) after. Table management could really use improvement here. Food and wait staff are great as always. But we miss the old owners who ran this institution for years in Milpitas. New owner needs a bit more experience on how to run a restaurant so that customers are treated fairly. Be warned about long wait times and others jumping the line due to favoritism. read more

Hey there Party People This is a good old fashion diner complete with wait staff that made you feel like you were at their kitchen table calling you "Hun" and "Dear". It was heart warming. The place was hopping but we were seated right away. We never had to ask for a drink refill because the wait staff was on it. The food was huge and very tasty. The crowd on the Friday morning before Christmas sure was promising and got even more busy in the later morning hours. This surely had to be a great near hole-in-a-wall spot in the center of an unassuming strip mall. The experience between food and service is a mixed bag. The staff was very accommodating ensuring we got two booths together while we waited for a previous group to finish. The staff was friendly and were attentive despite the entire restaurant was packed with a wait out the door. The menu is typical of breakfast diners. Eggs, omelets, pancakes, French toast, Benedicts. Aside from the promising beginnings, the food was almost sub par. While serving sizes are large and priced well, the flavors and tastes were underwhelming. I did not hear anyone in our large group rave or comment anything positive about the food. My husband's chicken fried steak seemed to be cooked with old oil, and he hardly touched it.
