    50/50 (2 bacon & 2 sausage)
    Carolen M.

Mil's Diner is a Milpitas institution. I've been here in the past but this time I came in with a few friends to do a major catch up as it had been a couple years since we met up. So they decided why not Mil's? L O C A T I O N Mil's Diner is located off of Calaveras Blvd and Abbott Ave. It's in a plaza close to Goodwill. The parking situation here can be very difficult during the busy times of eating. I N S I D E It's a diner! Yes it feels like an old school diner with a bar area and booths to sit in. They do have a restroom if you need it. M E N U It's a fairly extensive menu with all your good ol' diner food from breakfast fare to lunch. That day I decided I'd get the 50/50 (2 bacon & 2 sausage) with over easy eggs, hashbrowns and sourdough bread. Pricing feels a little bit on the high side, but to be honest it's been so long since I've been to a diner that this might be normal. How was it? It was good! The hashbrowns a tad bit oily, but I was expecting that. Eggs good, bacon crispy, sausage bouncy. S E R V I C E It was warm, friendly and lovely. The wait though was uff. So if you can send out someone early to scout the line or I'm unsure if they can put your name down as you drive over. But the wait times can get really long. I think we waited about an hour or maybe 40-ish min? But this was a Sunday at lunch time and we had 4 people. We actually paid by cash which was easier for all of us and we didn't need change back. Amazing when we all have cash handy. O V E R A L L I think it's a pretty solid diner with good food with friendly service. I'm sure we'll come back again as we enjoyed our time there and catching up. Just be prepared for the wait as it's just that popular!

11/8/25 Back in the area for brunch and kiddos wanted an all American brunch. We haven't had Mil's in awhile and had to come back. Solid breakfast as expected. Chicken and waffle (4 piece chicken - breast, leg, wing and thigh) - not tenders like most other places! Kids ordered country fried steak (with over medium eggs and crispy hash) while the other wanted one with over easy eggs and regular hash. I got the mimosa and my lil one added a hot chocolate. Service is family friendly. Ambiance is comfy diner feel. Ample parking available. We came at 9:30 and it was a 20 minute wait.

One of our favorite breakfast spots! Small kine coffee shop w/ friendly staff and great food. We've been coming for years now. Try it out! Easy parking in lot. Early not as long if wait.

GAMBLING SUPERSTITION: STEAK BREAKFAST Athletes have a routine before games. If their routine breaks the athletes feel back luck will come. I'm not a professional athlete however as a horse racing gambler I have a routine before I go to the racetrack. I eat breakfast at a diner where I order steak. If the steak is overcooked when I go to the racetrack I lose. I picked this place last Saturday as I wanted to try a new diner. I've been to Mel's Diner in San Francisco. This place appears to be a play on the town's name Milpitas. I sat at the counter. When I looked at the breakfast menu it lists ribeye, which I ordered. I asked the ribeye to be cooked medium rare. Instead of toast I paid extra for English muffin. Lately at diners I noticed that steaks served tend to be thin cut. When my ribeye was served the steak was thin cut. I was concerned because previous steaks I've ordered have been overcooked because they were thin cuts even though I requested to be cooked medium rare. Also those steaks tended to be dry. When I cut the ribeye juices were oozing. The ribeye was tasty and moist. I enjoyed my steak. After breakfast I headed to a parimutuel facility to bet on horse races. I ended up winning money at the track. My luck on the racetrack depends on how I enjoyed my steak still exists. I came back the following day. I noticed the day before the serving of chicken and waffle. I've seen pictures on Yelp of the chicken and waffle at Mil's Diner. The best chicken and waffles I ate at the Bay Area was at LB Steak on Santana Row in San Jose. The chicken and waffle at Mel's Diner is $9 less than at LB Steak. When the chicken and waffle was served there were four pieces of fried chicken drenched with honey on top of one waffle. I enjoyed the fried chicken and waffle at Mil's Diner. Is it better than I ate at LB Steak? Even though I get four pieces of fried chicken at Mil's Diner the single piece of fried chicken at LB Steak was super moist and what made that piece of chicken impressive was it was the breast, which tends to be dry. Even though I get two waffles at LB Steak the single waffle at Mil's Diner was crispy. I love my waffles to be crispy not soggy. What's my verdict? The chicken and waffle served at Mil's Diner is in my top two of chicken and waffle dishes in the Bay Area. When you enter Mil's Diner the place is small compared to most diners. Even though this place is small since I enjoyed my two breakfast servings I'll come to Mil's Diner to try new items.

I came here for a date! I love the menu and the cozy little mom and pop seating inside. The menu is pretty extensive and they even offer Latino dishes like huevo con chorizo with tortillas! I ordered the French toast and it was very surprising because the toast felt so rich and buttery. The flavor was absolutely delicious. It tasted like the batter was made with something thick and delicious, much unlike other French toasts I've tried. I would definitely love to try this place again! Service was quick and they're quick with giving you your food and helping you clean up for the next guest. Super friendly and kind staff.

I just had the Country Fried Steak, what a feast! The portions are huge! The steak was cooked to perfection and scrambled eggs were delicious. The hash browns were cooked to perfection. Another hit.

Loved the old timey classic diner vibe, cozy and nostalgic. I went with the #1 combo - they were able to do 1 bacon and 1 sausage which I appreciated, and it also came with 2 eggs, hash browns, and toast. I also got a buttermilk pancake on the side. The combo was pretty standard brunch, reliable and classic. I do think the hash browns could've been crispier though. The syrup for the buttermilk pancake was also kind of hardened, and it wasn't super liquidy like normal pancake syrup. Felt a bit plastic-like. The pancake itself was great though with fluffy soft texture. Service was wonderful and food came out quickly, would come back in the future for a classic brunch vibe.

We came to Mil's to fuel up for yet another big hike. The servings here is massive and fairly priced for this day and age. Our coffees were refilled frequently. Retro diner feel. Good service. Shopping center parking lot. Open early. Please come and create your own adventure.

This is first time I and my husband went there. We ordered crab cake Benedict and CA Benedict. Both dishes were good. We ask hash brown to make extra crispy, they did it. Amount of food was generous portion.

Mil's Diner is definitely one of those old-school, local hole-in-the-wall spots. The place has a bit of a dated feel. The service was the highlight. Our server was bubbly and welcoming, which made the experience much more enjoyable. As for the food, it was just okay. I had the Popeye omelette, which was decent but nothing to rave about. My husband and I also split an order of waffles, and those were fine as well. It wasn't special, but not bad either.

This is my favorite breakfast spot! The service is always fantastic! Plus the owner is always helping out too, which is a rare sight as not many will be this involved. I always get a sense of a family atmosphere. The food is also great. My two favorite dishes are the chicken and Waffle and the country special. The chicken is a great size! All the food portions are also great. I definitely recommend this breakfast spot in Milpitas. I became a regular because of how often i go.

Stopped by on a Wednesday morning and it was pretty busy. Ample parking which is a plus. There isn't a wait when you walk in which is great. Was greeted immediately once I entered. Definitely a homey old diner type feel and I noticed they have tons of regular at the location. You can tell the vibe and atmosphere is great here based on relationships with customers and team working there. What we ordered: My son got French Toast: it crispy and tasted good per my son lol. My daughter got the #3: Two pancakes, bacon with scrambled eggs. The pancakes were fluffy, and she loved how the butter melted immediately on the pancake. Eggs were scrambled perfectly and bacon wasn't too soggy or too hard. I got the all meat omelette: The omelette was hefty and was flavorful and delicious. The hash browns were good and wasn't oily. Overall a decent breakfast spot to try out when you're in the Milpitas area. There is a service charge when you use a credit card.

First time coming here with hubby for brunch Wednesday. Staff is really friendly and felt welcomed. Pretty fast service. Food was fresh and great. Pretty good for breakfast spot. Definitely would stop by again if we are feeling like going out to grab breakfast. And plenty of parking since it's in same plaza as O'Riely.

Great Food Local Restaurant been coming here for years. You won't regret it!

We were seated in their overflow area across from the main dining area. I enjoyed the Western Skillet, Country Potatoes and asked for their salsa too. The salsa has the right amount of heat to it and I enjoy it with all their egg dishes. The Western Skillet includes bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, along with diced ham. We walked into the Milpitas location, which follows that familiar formula with bear-themed décor, spacious booths, and a relaxed setting that works well for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The interior feels warm and inviting, with wooden accents and a cozy energy that makes it the kind of place where you can settle in for a filling meal without feeling rushed. The booths are comfortable and the layout is spacious, accommodating both small groups and larger families with ease. The menu is extensive, covering everything from pancakes, waffles, omelets, and chicken fried steak to burgers, sandwiches, pot roast, and slow-roasted meats. Breakfast is the biggest draw, with large platters that easily satisfy a big appetite, and we found the portions more than generous enough to leave us full. The chicken and waffles offered a solid balance of crispy chicken and fluffy waffles, while the country-style entrées were satisfying and well prepared. The food is not particularly innovative, but it is consistently satisfying and delivers exactly what you would expect from a traditional diner, with each dish feeling familiar and comforting without trying to be anything more. One of the biggest strengths of Black Bear Diner is the value. Portions are generous enough that many meals can be shared or provide leftovers, making the prices feel reasonable given the amount of food you receive. We noticed that even the smaller portions were substantial, and the quality of the ingredients held up well against the quantity. Service is typically friendly and attentive, with coffee refills coming regularly and meals arriving at a steady pace. The staff handled the busy weekend morning flow with efficiency, keeping the dining room moving without making us feel rushed. During weekend mornings, the restaurant can get busy, but the team manages the volume well, and the turnover is fast enough that the wait does not feel excessive. Black Bear Diner is a dependable choice when you are craving classic American comfort food. It is not a destination for unique or elevated dining, but that has never been the goal. Instead, it delivers hearty portions, reliable service, and a comfortable atmosphere that makes it an easy option for a satisfying breakfast or casual family meal. The combination of value, consistency, and a welcoming setting makes it a practical stop for a meal that feels both familiar and filling.

This time it was around noon, so my wife had the mini version of the Mexicano omelette, and I had the American burger with a grilled jalapeño on the side in addition to the french fries and avgolemono soup. My wife enjoyed her omelette, even eating her hashbrowns, which I was surprised to see. Usually, she leaves them for me. She must've been hungry! The hamburger is a half pound of ground Angus beef before cooking and comes with lettuce and tomato and in my case cheddar cheese instead of American. The service here has always been great, but she really stood out. The Bloody Mary was perfection: bold, spicy, and exactly the kind of "reset button" I was hoping for. And the tortilla soup? Absolutely phenomenal. Rich, soothing, and deeply satisfying--one of those dishes that makes you pause mid-bite because it's just that good. I came in excited for the Monte Cristo I've loved here for years, the one I've recommended to friends like it's a sacred personal discovery. The original management seems to be back and I am so happy there is an authentic Filipino breakfast spot to come back to. My husband and I both really enjoyed our tocino silog with garlic rice and 2 perfect fried eggs. I really enjoyed the tomato and the spice vinegar along side it. The portions are great, and we left with to-go boxes. Really enjoyed the equator coffee as well. We will be back, and look forward to trying the homemade corned beef. Thank you East Bay Cafe Depot! So glad you are part of the Fremont Community.

Indoor and outdoor seating both available. Came by for a Saturday lunch and they said the food will take ~45 mins. They were very grateful for our patience and even threw in a plate of sweet pork longanisa on the house for the wait! We shared the pork adobo island d-lite and the Hawaiian char siu chicken burrito. I really enjoyed the pork adobo, it had melt in mouth texture and great flavorful and went really well with the garlic rice. The Hawaiian char siu chicken burrito was good too but I liked the pork adobo plate more. The service was wonderful and they really make you feel at home. Very kind folks, definitely come support them!
