Italian Sausage & Eggs with Country Potatoes & Wheat Toast
    Philip L.

#1 Bartender / Server (Rebecca) was very friendly & greeted me with a Smile ! #2 The Italian Sausage & Eggs platter w/Country Potatoes & Wheat Toast Breakfast was So Very Very Spectacular & Satisfying ! #3 The Ambiance of the establishment was Awesome with my SF Niners playing on TV ! #4 Yet, what was Very Impressive was the 2 Pictures (showing John Smoltz, an MLB Legend & Hall of Famer) right in front of where I was sitting & 1 other Picture (the Golden Bear, Jack Nicklaus) !!! #5 One of these days I will have to take my wife, Liz, here because she's a huge Foodie !

The bill should have been for $36.95 with tax 39.72. The discount was the bs customer service that Mil's offers regulars.

They should fire their cook! Cut corners = big loss. They don't cook anything exactly as you order it. The only thing decent here is the breakfast menu and that is screwed up by cut corners and no one checking the quality of the food they're serving. I live local and I keep trying to like this place but each time I'm disappointed. Then you add in that this place is filthy every time I'm in there. They need to hire professional cleaners to scrub the bathrooms thoroughly, dust blinds and light fixtures. They need to vacuum and shampoo the rugs. Wipe down the furniture from top to bottom. It's old but with proper scrubbing, would clean up. I sent my food back, and it wasn't remedied. I opted for cold eggs over another waitress spitting in my food. I thought this because the gal didn't seem to be able to handle me criticizing the food. I asked her for hot sauce to help me choke down my cold eggs. She said sure and ran off to never return (I'm assuming to punish me for not silently taking the bad service). I flagged someone else down to get it. When I finished. My waitress said she would like to offer me 10% off for my trouble. I said thank you. When the bill came, there wasn't a discount and I was charged incorrectly. This upset me. I paid my bill and tipped 15% anyway. I am so disappointed and want to tell everyone out there, to go to Denny's instead. At least it's clean and your food will be cooked to order. This mom and pop place isn't worth it. No matter how badly I want to support local business.

Chicken fried steak, country, potatoes, eggs, all easy

Even though Yelp says it opens at 10, but actually it opens up at 7am !! It's good every time I go there but the only thing if I had a choice, I wish that they had alternative meats like turkey or chicken meat since I do not eat pork I have to get a steak breakfast.

A hidden gem. Found this spot during my travel done the I5 freeway. Never even heard of Peterson, Ca. But this little cafe is awesome. Ordered the Ortega chili burger protein style with burger taco soup and salad... super delicious

Great service. Average food quality. Old school vibe. Separate diner, bar, and general dining area.

Food good, but portion sizes have gotten smaller lately. For what you get, it seems a little expensive. Service OK.

I stopped by Texas Burger recently and was impressed with both the food and the overall experience…read more I ordered the bacon burger, and it was packed with flavor. The bacon was cooked just right and paired really well with the juicy burger. I also tried the corn dog, which was super crispy. The chicken tenders were also great. They were juicy on the inside, crispy on the outside, and tasted super fresh. Beyond the food, the restaurant itself was clean and well-maintained. The dining area was tidy, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and even the restroom was noticeably clean--something I always appreciate when dining out. The prices were okay. I ordered 2 bacon burger meals, a Philly cheesesteak, 2 corn dogs, and a 5 piece chicken tenders all for around $70. Overall, Texas Burger delivered on both food quality and customer service. I'd definitely stop by again.

I wouldn't eat from this spot again unfortunately…read more I ordered the deluxe burger by itself and a side order of mushrooms. I was originally going to order the combo but when I realized you're paying for the burger and fries ONLY with no drink it honestly didn't seem worth it to me. The mushrooms were so disappointing to put it nicely. Soggy, and soft, many of them were falling apart or even looked chewed already. I was really looking forward to them because of the photo online, they looked nice and crispy and tender- usually whenever I order mushrooms from other establishments, they are still somewhat firm and bouncy with a nice crunchy breading, so when I opened the little bag that held these, I was instantly disappointed. I did try eating a few just to make sure that I wasn't judging it too harshly or prematurely, but honestly, it just felt like the more I ate the worst the taste got for me. I would absolutely steer clear of them unless this was 100% a fluke, but I really hope people are not ordering these mushrooms and getting what I got, because it's an absolute rip off to be charged $7 for this mess. I was looking forward to the burger because when we were initially deciding where to get food from, I did not want fast food because of how much you pay these days for it and sometimes how little you get. So when the idea of coming here to get food was floated by I jumped at the opportunity because I was thinking a burger joint would do really good burgers. Unfortunately for me, I was sorely disappointed again. The burger was somewhat smashed, and honestly, the quality was just really low. Really thin patty, a whole bunch of onion (and I LOVE onion on my burgers usually), really thin piece of tomato, a whole bunch of lettuce, and now that I think about it, I don't even think it had cheese on it. It was to the point that about halfway through, where majority of the onion was layered, I couldn't even taste the burger patty at all, just onion + bread + mayonnaise. I will be honest, I did eat the burger entirely because I really hate to waste food and there wasn't anything wrong with the burger per se, I just absolutely would not order another burger like this for the price that I paid when I can go to Burger King for a similar price and more food and better quality. Overall, I was really underwhelmed by this place. I would hope that this is not the standard that they put out and they really do much better when you dine in or when you get food earlier in the day, because I really hate to think that there are people out there paying what I paid for this food and thinking this is good quality. I did also look at some other review images to see what sort of quality people were getting though and t does look like the thin burger patties is a set standard for this spot, which is really unfortunate in my opinion because again you could literally go to Burger King and get a thicker burger patty and more food for what you pay. I personally would not order from this location again based on this experience.

We dined as a party of four for an early dinner Saturday…read more We were seated immediately and drinks were brought out right away (4 waters and 2 soft drinks), which was a great start. After that, the experience slowed down quite a bit. When ordering, the new menu was confusing. Everything is now essentially à la carte -- you order a meat or sandwich and then choose a side at an additional cost. We ordered one 3-meat combo with garlic fries, one 2-meat combo with mac & cheese, a tri-tip sandwich with garlic fries, another sandwich with regular fries, and a large onion ring for the table. There was also confusion about sides. We initially asked for a large garlic fry with the combo and were told it only came with a small side, but also that the side wasn't included in the price. The ordering process felt unclear for both us and the server. Food took about 25 minutes to arrive. During that time, we had to ask multiple staff members for utensils and condiments (BBQ sauce, ketchup, ranch, and Tabasco). We asked three different times before receiving them, and by then the fries were mostly gone. Food quality was mixed. The sandwiches and sides were actually very good, and the tri-tip was flavorful. However, the smoked BBQ meats were very dry and the house BBQ sauce was not appealing. The dining room was also quite cold during our visit. Our total bill was about $200 for four people. At that price point, we expected stronger service and more consistent food quality. The restaurant used to be a favorite when we first moved to Patterson 8 years ago, so this visit was disappointing. I hope they work out the menu clarity and service issues because the potential is still there.

The other location in Buellton closed a while ago so I think this maybe the only one left. Could be the original but I'm not sure. Just off the 5 heading north. We stopped by for a quick bite before heading back on the road. Mid week which wasn't that busy. It's been so long ago that I didn't remember what the inside looked like. As we had our little pup with us, they were able to accommodate us. There's three entrance from the front area. Main being the one that leads you to the restaurant. Another is from the gift shop side and we also noticed people coming in from the side of the bar. One side is the restaurant which we looked at but ended up at the bar section. Which happened to be happy hour happening. Didn't know they had that to offer. Bar area was pretty quiet when we were there but it did pick up. There's also patio seating right outside there. Main menu pretty much has as everything but we just opted for some happy hour bites for now. Drink special was offered both for draft and bottle as well as cocktails and wine. Food menu, they were limited on that but the usual were offered. Both cup or bowl of the famous soup was available. Half order of the potatoes skin, onion rings and wings were available as well as the quesadillas. Soup was decent but could have been hotter. Onion rings, and the wings were ok. Good nothing major to rave about. Both served with ranch sauce. I also picked up some dessert from the counter which looked great. Happy hour items were decent for the price. The service for the whole place was great. All The staff and waitress were very friendly and helpful. Our waitress who was also the bartender was a major doll. She was very sweet. As well as all the ladies on the restaurant side. Very accommodating to us. Overall, it was a cute stop off for a quick bite. Cute gift shop that's worth a wandering around. Plenty of parking available.

With as many signs on the freeways as Andersen's has in California promoting their famous split pea…read moresoup, one would think they would be prevalent everywhere. In reality, there are/were only two: the original location (and now closed since 2024) in Buellton and this location in Santa Nella. It turned out that we needed to take a break and gas up around lunchtime very close by, so decided to stop in for lunch. It ended up being OK. This second location has been open since 1976 and is located in a huge building with tons of seating and a large retail space. It has a separate downstairs dining room (available if your party is large), a large bar in the back (open during lunch though only one person was in there), and an upstairs not accessible during lunchtime. We came at exactly 11:00 and they had begun serving lunch. We were led to our seats, and someone came by with water. There seemed to be some confusion on who was supposed to serve us, and we were ignored for a while, even as other folks were being seated. Finally, a waitress came back (guessing she wasn't our original one, but had to pivot) and took our order. Not particularly friendly in the beginning (ended up being talkative at the end as my wife had struck up a conversation), but got our order correct. The food came out soon after, and it was served all together and was still warm when we got them. My wife and I have been to the Andersen's in Buellton and had slightly different memories of how good the split pea soup was. We ordered a cup ($6.99), and didn't even have to tell the waitress what kind of soup we wanted. The soup was good for the first couple spoonful, but didn't end up finishing it; glad we ordered a small cup. My wife and her mom split a Teriyaki Chicken dinner ($21.50) and they liked it: nothing fancy, just one chicken breast grilled and topped with bottled teriyaki sauce and a pineapple slice. I got the Danish Style Meatloaf ($21.99, was planning to share with my wife) and it seemed well made with generous portions, but neither of us liked it (the pork/beef mixture with breadcrumbs was very finely ground and reminded me of a mealy German sausage without the casing). Both the soup and meatloaf would have been good as small samples from a buffet while grazing, but are difficult as a main course for our taste. Both plates came with a from-frozen vegetable medley (broccoli, carrots, and zucchini), along with a rice pilaf for the chicken plate. We did buy some trinkets at the gift shop. I wanted to get a Danish, but ended up sharing a Cinnamon Crisp, a giant cookie covered in cinnamon sugar. It was really good, definitely worth the $5.50 price.
