I'm rounding up from 3.5 stars. I'm ambivalent about this place. If I think too much, the score will be 3 stars. It could go either way. We only come here for breakfast, and I hadn't been in quite a while. We stopped coming due to bad service, silly high prices and some changes in food (the pancakes) that the family did not like. My 5 year-old wanted to go for the Micky Mouse pancakes. For a Saturday morning, the restaurant was not particularly busy. The menu is significantly slimmer now, with fewer items, and, frankly, is a little confusing. It requires a bit of work to find something simple like eggs and bacon. Then there is a separate brunch menu. I didn't even bother with that, so I don't know what that's all about. The Mickey Mouse pancakes were fine, and my daughter ate most of the two large ones served. The fruit served with it was just barely ok. Not sure why melons get slimey, but these pieces were. A fresh strawberry on top was fresh and tasty, though. I had a couple of bites of the pancakes, and they were good. I had corned beef hash with eggs. Both were fine. There still is no hash brown option, so there were roasted potatoes. They were tasty and nicely seasoned, though a few were overdone and collapsed and should not have been put on the plate. The plate looked a little sad and empty when I was served. A lot of white space. Where's that orange slice when you need it? My blueberry muffin was a a little weird. Very white in color, though the blueberries in it were quite tasty. I couldn't decide if the muffin simply was not fully baked or what. The flavor was just slightly off. My daughter didn't seem to mind it though, as she probably ate half of it. We didn't finish it, however. Not compelling enough. So, would I go back? I'm not sure I'll rush back, but with Pop's as competition and closer, it may be a while...maybe when my daughter wants Mickey Mouse pancakes better than the ones I can create. read more

Just had dinner after not coming here for 3 years and the service and food is as good as I remember. There was a waitress there from 3 years ago when we were regulars and she recognized us...we've moved. Had the new to the menu pumpkin spice cheesecake for dessert & it was delicious. I remember some Sunday mornings when it was full and the wait was a bit long, they would bring out some spiced bread squares for those waiting to be seated. The regional manager would even come out and go table to table to ask if everything is ok and if we needed anything else and she'd go get it for you herself...she did that this time too. I always want to go to Mimi's when I think of a casual Sunday brunch that I don't mind going to in pjs. For what reason, I have no clue. For some reason I think they have a good bunch. But whenever I go, I'm just never satisfied. But why do I keep going?? I have no clue. I really need to stop. Pronto. I must say that the only thing I've ever liked from there is their Crab Cake Benedict but they stop serving that at noon? WTF? Noon!?! How about us hungover kids that cruise in at 1 o'clock? I guess we're just s.o.l. They do give you a lot of food though. Most of their breakfast entrees come with juice and a muffin, maybe that's why I go, because I feel like I'm getting a bang for my buck? Whatever the reasoning, I won't be coming back anytime soon. Unless I come before 12 that is. I have the same opinion on their lunch menu. However, I am crazy about their French onion soup though. The reason I went here was because the bf got a gift certificate welcoming into the neighborhood because he just bought a house. So we decided to go have breakfast here because I remember they had good muffins. We got here at about 11 and it was really busy, but luckily we only had to wait about 5 minutes. The hostess sat us in this side room which seemed like it would be a lot more quiet, but not so much. Their was this woman that complained about every little thing from the temperature, her, coffee, how the food came out, everything! Anyway we looked over the menu and they seemed to have some good dishes, (not to many if your a vegetarian though). I ended up getting the two egg breakfast that came with potatoes and your choice of bread, I think it was $5.99 and it also came with a small juice! My bf ordered a beef breakfast burrito. Our server looked busy, but she was very attentive, our food came out pretty quick. I thought it was really good,the potatoes were seasoned and cooked perfectly, my egg whites weren't to dry, and i loved the bran muffin! After we gave our gift certificate and paid the manager came up and welcomed us to the neighborhood with a to go box of muffins! To me that is what customer service is all about! I read recently that Mimi's had changed ownership, so when I saw a BOGO coupon, I thought it would be a good time to check it out and see what had changed. The service gets 0 stars. We had to wait to be seated when the restaurant was only about 1/3 full. Our server didn't know which "select" beers were included in the happy hour, and we had to go back out to the lobby to grab a promo card and point out to him that wine flights were also included. When our wine flights were delivered, the glasses had horrible water spots, and the server didn't bother to leave the card indicating which glasses contained which wines. The food was mediocre. The horseradish sauce on my salmon was separated and looked very unappetizing. Everything else was tolerable. We had our coupon out on the table from the beginning, but when we ordered the 3-course Bistro meals, the server didn't bother to tell us we wouldn't be able to use it on those items. I must take partial responsibility as they apparently were excluded in the fine print, but with my eyesight these days, I can't really read size 2 font! The party at the table next to us was having a similar issue and the waiter even commented that there were a lot of coupon problems that night. Having fond memories of meals at Mimi's in years past, I was hoping that the new ownership might bring the place into the 21st century, but I left disappointed and won't be going back. read more

I've never LOVED Mimi's...I'm not even sure I've ever really LIKED it, but a lot of other people do so I find myself visiting one location or another every so often. Came here for lunch awhile back with a friend, they boast about their "express lunch" so I was like o.k. maybe we can get in and out of here in an hour or so. Did not happen. We ordered drinks as soon as we were seated to cut time, but they took forever to come back. We were ready to order, but our waitress wasn't (uh...). Finally we ordered, I ordered soup and salad from the lunch menu and my friend just ordered a sandwich, nothing crazy. The food took SO LONG. By the time we got our check it had been and hour and fifteen minutes. Probably wouldn't attempt coming back here during my lunch hour again, and in general, I think the only meals I've really enjoyed at Mimi's have been for breakfast. Lesson learned...again. read more

Let me tell you why, everyone around us was greeted and given the servers name and a "How are you this morning" We got are you ready to order. A very busy restaurant. We came in for brunch and ordered breakfast. As with the other Mimi's I've been to this one is of the same standard of service and a pleasant meal experience. I ordered and polished off the 3 eggs Tuscan Vegetable Omelet... and I read the ingredients and realized there was 913 calories... no wonder I didn't feel hungry for a long time....!! lol...!!! It's good to know I don't eat like that EVERYDAY :D One thing, parking is scarce but if you do a few rounds you will find parking eventually!!! read more

If you drove by Sunday between 10-11AM and saw the line of people wrapped half way around the outside of the building and the full parking lot and thought it would take more than 30 minutes to get a seat, think again. When the host said it would take 10 minutes to be seated, I thought, by the number of people mulling around, it would be 30 minutes or more, but don't doubt the host here. It only took 10 minutes! Breakfast couldn't be any more perfect. I ordered ham and eggs which came with red potatoes with sourdough toast, Earl Grey tea, and a pilsner glass full of orange juice. The ham was a thick steak, the eggs were slightly over cooked, the potatoes were perfect, the toast came dry like it like it and the waitress brought a basket full of all different kinds of jelly, jams and spreads. The hot tea service was full so it included lemon and honey and my choice from the tea carousel. Breakfast for two was $27. What I didn't like so much was the atmosphere. We were sat in a booth across from the bar which doubles as a dining counter during breakfast and lunch. There is a noisy cappuccino maker on the back of the bar and the kitchen is behind the bar so there is constant foot traffic of staff passing by in the hall. read more

Disappointing. I ordered the sourdough burger. Requested well done but came back really red, medium rare in my opinion. I couldn't eat it for fear of eating undercooked ground beef. I showed the waitress and asked her to inform the cook, and her reply was "yeah, it's pretty red...should have been cooked more...I'll tell them". No offer of a remedy, discount, nor getting the manager to come over. I probably would have said politely "no thank you", but what got me irritated was that despite the meat obviously being bright red and not pink/brown for a med well done burger, she didn't even offer an apology or better yet, some offer to remedy the situation. Our dining date was Sunday, December 14, 2014 12PM. Julie and I have been here twice in the past two weeks. Both times have been for breakfast and less than spectacular. Mimi's has been a long standing favorite that slowly turned into a standby for us, mostly due to the corporate changes over the years. On this occasion, my family and I chose Mimi's because of convenience and the memory of good food. We were terribly disappointed. It started with the hostess, who appeared to be angry that she was working. She got my name wrong when taking for the list even though I gave it to her twice. When seating us, she did not bother to walk slow enough for my wife, who walks with a cane, and left us in the dust. Of course, we were seated in the farthest booth in the restaurant. The server was a nice enough young lady but her inexperience showed. She had trouble getting Julie's order correct and wound up bringing the wrong item. It might be excusable except it was a continental breakfast. Also, rather than take the wrong item back, she left it on the table even though no one planned to eat it. My daughter ordered a club sandwich with some modification. She said the sandwich, large by any standard, was good and to her liking. However, she had an iced mocha that had most of the powder (from the mix) on the bottom of the drink. All in all, she said she would pass next time. I had the Corned Beef Hash and eggs over medium. Their hash is some of the best I've eaten, savory and crisp the way I like it. The eggs were borderline easy over rather than medium. I do not like the fact they serve roast baby potatoes rather than hash browns or home fries but they are tasty and well-prepared. The real glitch with my meal was the server bringing me one slice of sourdough toast more than five minutes before she brought the rest of our meal. I also like my toast buttered at the cooks station, while it is hot, rather than plain with butter on the side. I would expect this from a fast food or health conscious restaurant but Mimi's is touted as neither. Bottom line - I hate cold toast. It is pretty obvious that Mimi's has gone downhill over the past few years. As my wife says, it started with their going corporate. They enjoyed a brief resurgence in quality when they brought back some old favorites to their menu but, unless they do something soon, they will remain just another mediocre chain restaurant. read more

The END of Mimi's - at least for us. We have been coming to Mimi's for years. It has always been competent with the service being hit or miss depending on the location. Never great, but it beats iHOP (barely). Yesterday changed that opinion forever. We arrived at the restaurant at about 12:45. After a 15-20 wait (it wasn't that crowded as many tables were open), we were seated. It took 5-10 mins before our waitress to arrive to take a drink order. We ordered coffee and tea and 2 waters. We got one water. I guess the drought has capped the number of waters you can order. We placed our order and it took almost 40 mins to come out. We were told the "kitchen is backed up." 40 mins? Really? We actually were considering getting up and leaving. The food finally arrived and was OK though we now were rushed to eat and get out of the restaurant since we had other places to be. The manager did bring a couple of muffins to placate us over the 40 min wait for our food. Once the bill arrived I noticed they had charged us for a large juice for my daughter who has ordered a kids juice. So we had to send back the check. Once we finally left the restaurant (left at 2:15 P total time for breakfast: 1 1/2 hours) I realized I never got my English muffin that I ordered with my breakfast. So I believe this will be our last trip to Mimi's. Fare thee well. read more

This wasn't my objective to get a free meal but was touched that they wanted to rectify the situation. For this I am grateful especially in Light of the climate today. Food was really yummy. I came here on a lunch date with my mother in law on a Friday at 11:30am. Downside- parking is EXTREMELY hard to find, it's too small of a lot for how many businesses are in the area. Also, they had a long wait for it being only 11:30, took us about 20 minutes to be seated even though they had lots of open tables. I think they should have had one more server working, I saw more bussers than servers. Upside- the food was delicious. I ordered a chicken ceasar salad and it came with a free muffin of my choice. I highly recommend the blueberry! They come out warm and you can tell they are freshly baked! I wanted to save it for my hubby but I couldn't stop nibbling away at it until it was all gone! My mother in law ordered a really yummy looking salad. I think it was some sort of Asian chicken salad, she loved it! She chose the muffin that tasted like coffee cake and boy do I want to come back for one of those with a latte!! We both ordered Iced Tea as well. Personally it was brewed stronger than I like, but that's just me. My husband would have loved it! He loves his tea on the stronger side. We enjoyed our table, wasn't too noisy and we were able to keep our conversation going without having to ask "What". Our server came to check on us often and so did the bus boys.
