It's a decent brunch spot in San Jose, although my and group had a reasonably big gripe regarding the service, as the service was just horrendous. We waited ~45 minutes before we got our food. We didn't order so much as to justify that. Rarely saw our waiter (nice as they were) so we weren't able to inquire about it much. I got the steak omelet which features a lot of great stuff in it, most notably four eggs. This is impressive given a lot of places here sell three-egg omelets! - All Items: Steak, avocado, mushrooms, onions, and jack and cheddar cheese - Cheese was melted into the omelet nicely, making for a much more delectable meal - Sparseness of the avocados looks funny in the photo, though it was enough for me - High-quantity The food was decent (I'd say a 4/5 on that alone), but the service was fairly disruptive to the flow of the day so I am not sure that I'd return on account of that. read more

cute place for breakfast/brunch!  i came with my gf and her baby boy on a sunday morning and there were still empty tables to occupy.  they have indoor seating as well as covered outdoor, patio seating...we opted for outside for free flowing fresh air. i ordered the primavera omelette, 4 egg omelette with spinach, tomatoes, zucchini, mushrooms & broccoli.  i requested no cheese and egg whites only for a healthier option.  instead of the usual potatoes/hash browns, i opted for fresh fruit.  for my toast, i selected whole wheat.  food came out fairly promptly, and i was actually very impressed with how much food i was given, esp the the size of the margarita glass fruit cup!  the fruit was fresh and sweet, the omelette was filled generously with veggies and very filling.  the toast was slightly over toasted, little bit burnt, but i still ate it...nothing a little butter can't fix. service was pretty standard, our waitress was very nice, and the bill came promptly at the conclusion of our meal.  the restrooms were in the rear of the restaurant and were decently clean...i did have to wait a bit as there was a line to use the facilities. parking was the only thing that could use improvement...there's no dedicated parking spots for this restaurant, just a small, shared parking lot with other retailers, and unfortunately, it was 100% full when i arrived, so i had to drive across the street and park in a nearby neighborhood and walk 2 blocks back to the restaurant. read more

The plaza was shoddy and you wouldn't think this quality of a place was there but it is. Mimosas had delicious drinks and "super" versions of many of the main breakfast-alcohol-drinks served with an extra shot of vodka. You can also get a huge mimosa if you wanna be extra. The food was perfect and one of the few places I'd finish my entire meal with no to-go box although the portions were plenty. Each food was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The staff were very friendly and I usually didn't have a problem getting waitstaff's attention. I saw large groups leaving with really happy farewells with the staff. I ordered the French toast combo and my boyfriend ordered the churro waffle and made it a combo. The waitress didn't know how to turn it into a combo and we had to show her on the menu that it was possible. She what to go ask someone else how to do it. I think she might have been new. Our food came out fairly quickly. Our mimosas distracted us from the wait time. I had the lychee mimosa while my boyfriend had the pineapple mimosa. 3.5 stars, I REALLY wanted to love this place. They have a huge version of my favorite drink, and a wide selection of eggs benedict, my favorite breakfast food. Everything besides the giant mimosa just wasn't very memorable. I have heard about Mimosas for a while through social media and friends. We arrived at the prompted time to check in with the host at 2:05 PM, the place was packed and the music was super loud. We were finally seated at around 2:30 PM and at that point we were all hangry. We ordered a Strawberry Super Mimosa and sweet potato fries to share, and I ordered a Crab and Shrimp Avocado Benedict for myself. Everything came out within 10 minutes or so. The Super Mimosa was indeed huge. It was mainly champagne and not as much fruit juice as I would have liked. The sweet potato fries were crispy and hot and came with two different dipping sauces. The hollandaise sauce for the Benedict had a nice flavor and there was enough to cover my entire eggs and biscuits. The eggs were a bit more cooked than I would like but was still able to run a bit. The country potatoes were soft the way I like it, and were cooked with peppers and onions. Besides the astonishing and very instagram-worthy mimosas, I don't think this place is worth all the hype. The wait was ridiculously long and the food was just average to me. Parking in the plaza is extremely limited too, so be prepared to park in the surrounding neighborhoods. I'd say if you're trying to really have a good time though, a good people to giant mimosa ratio would be 2:1. The mimosa definitely wasn't that strong. Once we got here we were seated relatively quickly because we added ourselves to the Yelp waitlist. It took a while for someone to come over and ask what we wanted to drink. It's not the same as it used to be. I used to come here in 2017 a lot and it was POPPIN'. There was always a long wait and we'd have to park in the neighborhoods and walk over. I went on a Saturday at 10am and found parking in the lot and our party of 6 was seated immediately. Ordered meal through DoorDash. They confirmed the food was ready and when I went inside to get the food, they said it wasn't ready. I had to wait 10 minutes to get my food. While waiting, I noticed that they were not following covid rules. As of 3/14, restaurants are allowed to operate with indoor dining at 25% capacity. That was clearly not the case inside. People were seated less than 6 feet apart inside and the restaurant seemed like it was almost 100% capacity. After leaving this maze of a parking lot, I came home to the saddest looking "chicken and waffles" I have ever seen in my life. For $17, I would expect a better meal than this. You would think a place that offers a ginormous amount of sparkling wine would get an automatic "A" in my book, but Mimosas Cafe had some significant challenges that affected my experience. Even though my friend and I came during an off-peak time, we were not even greeted at the door or seated at a table for several minutes. I ended up asking an employee whether we could seat ourselves, which we quickly did. Then, it took a while to get menus--our eventual server even mentioned at some point that she thought we had ordered (which was definitely not the case). We subsequently ordered a super mimosa to share (with pomegranate, since even in the early morning hours there were out of certain flavors), and I ordered a waffle combo with eggs and sausage (since they were also out of ingredients to make the churro waffle). The food was good if not remarkable--the waffle was crispy and the eggs were appropriately made. The mimosa was massive and perfectly made if you are looking to get crunked at brunch. Yet, the service, just like when we entered, was barely existent throughout our meal. Magically, our server was super attentive when the bill was ready, which gives you a taste of how little she cared about customer service. She was friendly enough when she shower up, but the busboys were more responsive to our needs than she was. The place is also in need of a remodel, with cracked paint and a men's bathroom that sorely needed a cleaning. I'm happy I went, because I literally shared the biggest mimosa of my life. So I've been hearing about this place and it might be the same owners as the ones who are out in Stockton. Nonetheless, still same great food with BOMB mimosas! Looking around, most of the tables had at least one giant mimosa. The servers were running around like crazy. I would think they would be used to the Sunday brunch crowd and have plenty of coverage. Perhaps they were short-staffed that day. My friend ordered a customized bacon, green onion and cheese scramble with country potatoes. I don't usually order a Benedict, but I couldn't resist the sound of that crab, prawn, and avocado Benedict. Unfortunately, my vision of fresh Dungeness crab and large prawns was not what I got. Nothing was overly sweet and a side of the caramel sauce was given on the side if you wanted to add more sweetness. I liked that! Let's just say ERICA saved the day. We had a party of 7 people and usually in past experience precovid it is not usually an issue. Now with outdoor dining and time limits it's a little different these days. Sunday morning before 10:00- walked into this small establishment with one goal. Enjoy a mimosa before a short road trip. I was a little surprised that it wasn't full. Most places that serve breakfast are already slammed on weekends. Well it took til the end of our meal for the place to start getting packed. I selected the pink grapefruit mimosa. It was the size of about 3 regular mimosas. It's served in those big goblet style glasses that you typically get a michelada in. There are countless options for everyone. The food was great. Super torta anyone? It was the best layered breakfast sandwich ever. Every bite was a beautiful sensation of layered flavor, touching your palette one by one. The bread was soft soft and toasted on the outside. I had the veggie Benedict. I could tell it was going to be good. The eggs were perfect, with the told oozing our onto the layered veggies and oh so perfect English muffin bottom. The country potatoes were exactly what I wanted...tossed with onion, peppers and rich in flavor. I wanted to stop eating halfway through, but just couldn't imagine wasting the rest. I wouldn't be able to take any leftovers due to our road trip immediately following our breakfast. I can honestly say this is the most amazing breakfast spot. We thoroughly enjoyed it. I will have to work out extra just so I can come and eat here often. It's run so well, the food is fresh and delicious and we left full and completely satisfied. I loved every single thing about the food, service and the mimosa! One downside is the table behind us. The guests were so loud and cursing throughout our meal which made me a bit uncomfortable. They were drinking and getting louder as the time went on. I wish people knew how to behave better in small spaces where we are all here to have a nice time and meal. read more

As advertised, the mimosas don't disappoint. The food was amazing. I had Chiliquilas. Also a Pom Poms mimosa. So good. The only bummer is the wait is forever and a day, but definitely worth it. read more
