Great noodle house in Rochester. Food has always been excellent. Try the szechwan wonton appetizer (it's in a peanut sauce). Prices are extremely reasonable (super cheap!) The interior decor leaves a lot to be desired. And the exterior of the restaurant needs a serious facelift (as does everything else along this stretch of Clinton). Nonetheless, the aesthetics and dinning environment actually seem to add to the authenticity of the place (in my humble opinion). Go to Mings!!

I came here for the first time a few weeks ago. The place is small and cute. I give this place only 2 stars, here's why: -I was not impressed with the service- the lady asked us numerous times if we were ready to order a few minutes apart as if she was in a hurry to get us out. - I ordered the chicken phat Thai- I was not overly impressed with it. The chicken had some fatty parts to it which had me cautious every time I wanted a piece of chicken in the dish. The sauce did say it was on the sweeter side but I figured it would be true to more of a peanut taste which it was not, the sweetness was a bit overbearing and took over the rest of the flavors in the dish. - The service wasn't spectacular with having to ask for refills on water, not asking how the food was and just gave us the check without asking if we would like anything else. My two friends with us got shrimp lo mein and pan fried lo mein. I tried the shrimp one. Overall: I wasn't blown away by this place, I would choose other places before I chose to come here. Nothing stood out to me that would make me want to com

What Mings does best, they do best... no comparison. I'm addicted to their Sesame Soy & my daughter swears their Sesame Chicken is the best. Spinach noodles with baby vegetables is a family fave, as well as anything Ho Fun. That said, if you want Pad Thai, go to Sak's or Phuket Thai...

Most authentic Cantonese noodle of what I've tried in Rochester so far. The broth for the beef soup noodle and the sauce and cooking for the ho fun are legit. The fried tofu for the veggie ho fun was not so good tho.

Szechuan Seafood with shrimp, scallops and calamari!!

Wow! This place is a diamond in the rough! The service was friendly and the food was delicious! It was prepared promptly and the portions were generous! We'll definitely be back for more.

First of all, why is Mings called Mings II in yelp? Mings Is my favorite restaurant in Rochester. When I have a noodle craving, there is absolutely no better place to go in Rochester. Start with the salt and pepper squid or tofu, the gyoza are fantastic as well. All the special noodle soup dishes are amazing. Generally I just ask for the chef's choice. Ming never fails to come up with some combination of noodles, meat and vegetables, at the perfect spice level (for me that's the level that makes your eye's sweat) that will put a big smile on your face. For a small, nondescript place, Ming really is a master.

Kinda bummed ordered beef pho and it arrived with no broth just noodles , my friends did too. They admitted to forgetting rice but insisted the noodles absorbed ALL the broth. There was just beef no seasoning just small 2 inch noodles . They did come back and make us happy ! Gave us broth and rice! Kudos to the driver

Was made to order later at night & very good. I wanted friend rice, cabbage carrots & spicy pork w/egg drop soup. Good price too.

Portions were tiny, too salty, not authentic and for the price just not appropriate. Bad service.

The spot has that old-school Chinese takeout vibe: simple, clean, and focused on flavor, not flash. --- What I Ordered: General Tso's Chicken Shrimp Lo Mein Crab Rangoons Egg Roll Steamed Dumplings --- General Tso's Chicken: Sweet, spicy, and crispy - exactly how it should be. The sauce had a good kick without overpowering the flavor. Chicken was tender inside with that golden crunch. Easily one of the best in the area. Shrimp Lo Mein: Noodles were cooked just right - not too greasy, not too dry. Shrimp was fresh and had good bite. Could use a little more garlic or soy for depth, but still solid. Crab Rangoons: Creamy, crunchy, and packed with flavor. These were a hit. You get that satisfying crunch with the creamy crab filling - not overly sweet like some spots do. Steamed Dumplings: Soft and juicy with a flavorful pork filling. Dipping sauce was on point. Not doughy, just right. Egg Roll: Golden and crispy with a nice balance of cabbage and pork inside. Great with the duck sauce. --- Pros: Big portions, great value Fast service Hits all the nostalgic Chinese takeout cravings Clean and well-packaged Cons: Lo mein could use a little more flavor Limited seating (best for takeout) --- Final Verdict (8.9/10): New Number One Chinese Restaurant is bringing the heat. Classic Chinese-American dishes done right. If you're craving comfort food that hits every time, this place delivers - literally and figuratively. Perfect for a late-night boss fight meal or chilling after a long grind. Let me know what YOU always order from your local Chinese spot - and drop your suggestions for the next food battle

It was dimly lit by design and had a really cool atmosphere. There were fairy lights, small lamps, and quiet instrumental music playing in the background. It sounded very similar to the soundtrack of Hyrule Field in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The food was tasty and very authentic! Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about celiac disease and cross contamination. Everything on their menu is clearly marked if it's spicy and/or can be made gluten free, too! They have a big selection, and if my family's meals were anything to go by, everything is great. If I lived anywhere close to here, I would be a regular. Here are pictures of some (not all) of their menu pages.

Both qualities that I tend to like as long as a restaurant is clean... and Chen's was. The food was decent but nothing special. The garlic sauce didn't taste like garlic... More like brown sugar really. The sweet and sour wasn't great either. To be fair, the friends that we went with loved their dinners. The killer was the rude server. We had barely finished eating and weren't planning to linger but apparently finishing our drinks and chatting for five minutes was a bit too much for him. He told us that there were customers waiting and that we had to leave. I might note that there were a few empty tables at that time but even if there weren't that poor behavior was uncalled for. We won't be going back to Chen's.

While visiting on a cool night, the Dan Dan Noodles sounded really appealing to me, and they did not disappoint! The bowl was a large portion with a good amount of noodles and tender, juicy ground pork. The broth was hot and spicy, but also flavorful...the heat was not too overpowering for me. I was very happy with my meal, but also happy to taste some other items we got to share. Edamame always seems like a good way to start a meal...these were overly salted for my liking. The scallion pancake was okay...a little small with just four thin pieces. More successful were the namesake dumplings. I really liked their versions of Xaio Long Bao - both the original pork and shrimp varieties contained delicious broth and fillings. We also shared the pork and chive dumplings, beef dumplings, and pork and corn dumplings...and we would order all of them again! The orange chicken was also an enjoyable dish to share, and good way to add some variety to the plethora of dumplings. I'm sure they get a lot of young customers from RIT and UofR, and the music catered more to this audience - it was a bit loud for my preference. But, service was very good and it is a fun casual environment to enjoy some good, reasonably priced chow with friends!
