I was really excited to try this place because my friend loves it here but I was very disappointed. I didn't catch my techs name but she was very rude and it felt like she was rushing. I noticed afterwards there's many spots she missed with polish, didn't touch my cuticles, shape is uneven and the nails are much thicker than usual. Quite a let down

Had an overall great experience here. I was able to make a last minute appointment and unlike some other salons in the area, it was a true reservation. They were quick but quality, and friendly. My tech gave me the cutest holiday bows just to be nice! I love how my nails turned out. The regular pedi still has a good amount of massage/relaxation.

I broke a nail at work so a friend suggested this place. Her daughter likes this place and since i like to stay young and hip I decided to try this place out. It's a mile from where i work and located across the street from the mall and the 66 Freeway. I called around 3:20 PM to made my appointment for 4:10 PM, I arrived at 4:17*and called to the pedicure chair at 4:28. Vicky performed my pedicure and manicure, I was very pleased with the pedicure (see photo) and i love my nails! I haven't said that in a while. I'm very pleased with the results and look forward to my next visit. * I parked at a metered parking spot for two hours.

My normal nail girl quit her place last week and I scrambled to get my nails done for a vacation. One of my colleagues recommended Amy at Mint, but to my surprise, she was also no longer there. I did not get a call for confirmation or a call as a FYI that she was not there anymore. However, low and behold, I met Ann. I am always nervous with a person I have never worked with before. Ann had 4 years of experience under her belt. I did a regular pedi and a gel mani. I showed a picture of a pastel marble design that I wanted and she definitely executed what I wanted. She also took the time to match the colors and reassured that even if I felt it was too bright, it would still fade out nicely with the liquid they use for a marble effect. I personally would give Ann a 5 star. I am deducting Mint to 4 stars because of their receptionist. A typical high school or college student with very poor etiquette. I mean, who wears sweats to work? Granted, I'm not the boss so I'll let it be. She could speak louder and be more clear when she talks to people. Hopefully she'll learn a thing or two with this job.

I have been coming to Mint on and off for years since I have friends in the area. It really can be a hit-or-miss experience so I do recommend you only go if you have a nail tech you know is good. Sometimes they offer you a drink, sometimes the nail tech is rude/dismissive, and sometimes your nail tech will be in a rush so it won't be a great service. The salon is clean and aesthetically appealing, but will be cramped if you need somewhere to put your purse/bag (especially if you're coming after work). I came in with gel already on my nails and wanting to redeem my 30% off coupon. Make sure you tell the receptionist that you intend to use the coupon for your appt when you book, otherwise they won't let you do it. It's a strange policy and not really mentioned upfront - I found out because the last time I tried to use it, they refused. The previous nail tech and receptionist were very rude about it too during that incident. For this appt, I already had gel on my nails so the tech did a very quick soak removal and then grinded away the rest. I could tell the whole time that she wanted to get through this as quick as possible so some nails were unevenly ground down and my nail edges were file into a sharp square shape. The color I chose was clearly a magenta but she only did two coats so it looks light red. When I asked her to keep adding coats until it was dark magenta, she said "no you can't do that unless you pay more and then I won't redeem the coupon." I didn't really understand that because this is a nail salon selling a nail service with nail polish so why wouldn't you do more coats if that's what's needed to achieve the right color? At the end, she didn't clean up the nail polish that was in the skin around my nails and she put too much of the cuticle oil on without pressing it in so I had to wash my hands. Now that I used my coupon, I'm unlikely to come back. The prices are decent but with some research I'm sure you could find other places in the DC/VA area.

After my appointment at the mall across the street was not acknowledged and I was told I had to wait for 3 more people, I left and came here. They said a 10min wait and that was pretty accurate. I used to go to the Mint Nail Lounge in Fairfax but had not tried this location. Pretty large selection of polish but light on glitter colors in regular polish. Lots of gel options. Place was packed around 4:45pm on a Saturday. They offered me water coffee or tea. I could also get a glass of wine. They line the bowls with plastic. Mary took care of me. I warned her I was ticklish. I got the coconut spa. Will try to hit happy hour in the future.

Very disappointed with my visit the last few times. two weeks ago I had to cancel my appointment due to the fact that my nail tech was running late and I had other plans then I rescheduled for last weekend and the person I spoke to never wrote my appointment down as well as the nail tech wasn't here. Today they called she was also running behind again 30 minutes. get here and 30 minutes have passed by and I still have not been seen. The person doing the appointment needs to do better at scheduling. This is really inconvenient when you have other things to do, if i was running an hour behind I will definitely not be being seen so please be considerate of the clients as well. When they finish instead of attending to the person that has been waiting, they're taking pictures of the person that took all this time with the design very unacceptable

Was looking for a new place in the area so decided to try Mint. It's only been a week and my gel mani is already chipping/peeling. Very disappointing.

I have been going to my nail salon prior to Mint for 4 years but the commute and time spent was getting too much so I finally decided to give this place a try because my coworkers all went here. Now I was really hesitant because I am very particular with my nails. I am known for my nails so I did not want to lose that rep. Happy to say, I've been going to Mint Nail Lounge for almost a year now and I have no regrets. My go to gal is not only sweet and caring, she slays my nails every time and I appreciate the effort she puts in to getting it right every time!

**UPDATE** I went back to the salon today 2/1/2021 and had my nails redone by Ivy. She did an amazing job and really took her time and paid attention to detail. I am very happy with the updated results and will be back to see her in two weeks! -------------- I went to this salon last Sunday (1/24) for an acrylic refill, eyebrow waxing, and pedicure and had to go back Wednesday (1/27) because my nails started turning black so they changed my polish for me. Well a few days later (1/30) the same thing is happening but worse. The polish is also chipping off even though it's gel. I get my nails done every two weeks and this has never happened before. I only tried this salon because it was new in the neighborhood but I definitely will not be going back to get my nails done. My pedicure and eyebrows came out pretty well so no complaints there. They had great service and were very clean but I'm very disappointed in how horrible my nails look not even a week later. read more

I found this hidden gem by pure coincidence, and I could not be any happier! May did my nails, and she was patient, talented, and extremely detail-oriented. The salon was spotless, and they followed COVID guidelines thoroughly. I felt completely safe and comfortable while there. The staff was all incredibly friendly and kind. I love love love this place. Since I discovered it when they opened about a year ago, I have forever stuck with Kim. She's a beast and a perfectionist. She and can about any design and takes her time, very neat, and friendly. It's best if you make any appointment as they are always booked. They also have a customer card ( I keep mine there) but after 10 visits you will receive a discount. Oh, and can't forget they offer adult beverages. read more

Worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon. The front staff is dismissive and doesn't even welcome you before barking that you should go wash your hands. Then I had Holly as my nail tech. She was rude from the start, unhelpful, and inattentive. Her massage was literally 2 minutes and when I asked for more pressure kindly, she stated "this isn't a deep tissue massage" very snarky. The woman next to me got a longer, much better massage for the same service. Then when it came time for my manicure, Holly didn't even help me carry my things to the chair and again, the hand massage was 10 seconds. She was so rude I was astounded. I couldn't find my scarf and kindly asked her to look at the pedicure chair and she shrugged her shoulders and walked away. I will NEVER be back read more

The nail tech cut my finger and didn't act like it was a big deal. I had to point out to her that my finger was still bleeding when she went to apply polish. Very unsanitary and now I am worried about the possibility of infection. She also did not clean up the edges of my nails so there is excess gel nail polish on the sides. read more

I recently went this past Sunday with my sister to get our nails done, and I've been going to mint for the past year or so around the weekends either Saturday or Sunday. I've always had a good experience. Usually it's pretty busy during the weekends so things can get a bit crowded but all the nail techs are very nice and they always make good conversation! Which I appreciate because I use to go to a bunch of different nail salons and the front desk and techs were usually very rude or dismissive...but the receptionist was very nice and understanding and the techs were very hands on. Overall a 10/10! read more

Pedicure- 4 stars Checkout experience- 1 star Pedicure wasn't the best and wasn't the worse. The nail tech was thorough but in the wrong places. She spent 20 minutes taking off the gel polish and another 20 applying new polish, but only 3 minutes on the lotion and massage, even though I purchased the $75 Milk and Honey spa pedicure which was supposed to have a longer massage. The real issue with my overall experience was when it was time to pay. The young woman upfront gave me my total and I noticed that they offered a 7% discount if you pay in cash, so I asked for my total if I paid cash. She told me $83 so I handed her $100 bill. She gave me back $16 so I confirmed with her that the total was $83 and she said yes but "I don't have any more change to give you". Instead of telling me upfront, she just decided to short me. Yes, it's only $1 but for me, it's the principle and I as a customer would not have been allowed to only hand her $82 and say I didn't have change or enough, so it shouldn't be allowed for a business either. Furthermore, if a business is comfortable knowingly shorting their customers, then I don't feel comfortable supporting their business. I also can't help but think how many other people this may have happened to who either didn't notice or didn't feel comfortable saying anything. It's a nice shop and the techs seem friendly, but this one experience is enough to have me pass and find another salon in the area for my pedicure needs. read more

I have not gotten my nails done here yet, but I was trying to book an appointment for my cousin and myself for a nail technician that can do what we're specifically asking for. At first, I was trying to email the salon regarding that and this worker helped me with my first request, but the second request they wasn't being clear about. I was asking for a nail technician that can do specifically what I'm looking for because I've been to nail salons who have specific people who can do that. They weren't clear in the email, so I called. I assumed the person who answered was the one answering the emails because she knew exactly what I was talking about. She was very rude and had a tone in her voice. She does not appeal customers to the business and this can make create a huge negative impact. I have two appointments coming up with my cousin who is from out of town and I am worried to bring her here since we're both first timers. Please talk to her about her attitude and her customer service. I've worked in the customer service industry and I know how it feels, but please get a better attitude. I called today on April 27, 2022 at 11:29 AM, so this applies to whoever answered the phone at this time. **Will update once we get our nails done. read more

I do not recommend this place for manicures. I went in for an SNS manicure and the next day my nails had peeled and chipped on on 4 of my fingers. Again, customer service is nice and they gave me a 20% refund and I ended up going home and just removing all of them (they came off easily). Just stick to pedicures. read more

I love this place! May is amazing. She always does such a great job with my nails. All the staff is very warm and kind. The receptionists are also very welcoming. My favorite nail spot in the area, I'm so happy they opened up. I also love that they accept Venmo for tip and payment. I'm disappointed. I thought I found a gem nearby but this is the height of inconsistency. First time I got a mani/pedi service was great. Second time I come in for a straightforward manicure and I'm literally treated like chattel. Was told to go wash my hands twice, the second time was after lotion was put on my hands (how does that even make sense?). The technician was flippant from the start and it showed in the output: bubbles all across my nails, hang nails unaddressed, uneven coating from nail to nail and then a separate technician came by to essentially let me know that my nails were done drying and I could be on my way. Didn't even get 5 feet out of the door and my thumb nail smudged, other nails have since peeled (less than 24hrs). What's the point of paying for services you don't actually receive? read more

Extremely disappointed by this service did a gel full set and it's one of the worst I've ever had. The technician seemed rushed, she put the nails on crooked, she painted outside of my nails onto my skin, the design is not smooth and looks like a child did it. I LOVE my nails after coming here! I would definitely recommend May, she did a wonderful job, and took extra care to be gentle around a few sore hangnails I had. This is a fantastic nail salon!!! This location is new, and it looks very classy. The staff is very professional and experienced. They're always making sure you're getting what you want and are happy with the service. They also have very commendable COVID precautions... everything feels safe and clean. I had cheap $7 press ons last longer than their $70 acrylic full set. Went in with clean nails that have had recovery time and being new to the area I went here for the first time and paid $68 for a brand new full set. I've had acrylics for years and can say this is the first time I've EVER had them just literally fall off. Within just 8 days two fell off-- and I know they can rip off painfully or grow out and tear off but I was cooking dinner and another fell when I was just walking my dog and you can see from the photo they had barely even started to grow out because it had only been a week and I usually go in every 2-2.5 weeks for my acrylics with no issue, they're supposed to last at LEAST 2 weeks. Went in to have them repaired thinking it was maybe just one or two that were bad and the girl who repaired them told me to be more careful...?? Again I've always had acrylics and I've never had one fall off doing the simplest day to day task so apparently with theirs you can't do anything if you expect them to not pop off. No apologies either for the inconvenience of having to go back in within a week-- just multiple rude comments about being more careful. But I wanted to give them a second chance... well two more just fell off while I was putting on a hoodie... I guess their acrylics can't handle cotton either. I'll pay somebody else for a new set apparently and I'm upset I wasted $70 for this embarrassing result. read more

I always come here to get my nails done. Recently I've been doing the SNS powder with nail art and the results are amazing! Today Bella was my tech and she is definitely one of the best. This place is excellent! My friend referred me here after saying their other location in Vienna did her nails, which always turn out perfect. I have been getting my nails done for as long as I can remember. I went to this nail salon ONCE and got fungus on my nail bed! The nail tech even pointed it out and said that it was fungus. They do NOT clean their materials, or open new materials packets with each client. So gross, never coming back here again!! read more

How did the office obtain my husband's credit card information and charge it without my authorization? 2. If completing this medical form is now a mandatory requirement, why wasn't I informed of that when I made the appointment over the phone? I spoke with the same employee who later attempted to check me in. Had I been told about this new policy beforehand, I would have canceled the appointment before making the trip and avoided both the inconvenience and the $35 fee. I've been a loyal client for around two years, and this experience was incredibly disappointing. The lack of communication, combined with charging a credit card that I never authorized to be on file, is unacceptable. This is not how long-time clients should be treated.

I've been getting pedicures for decades and the bottom of my feet are always treated (remove dry skin) either a pedicure and no salon has ever asked me if I wanted the bottom of my feet's dry skin removed because it's always included. Vanessa said, "what did I expect for $22?" I said I expected what the advertisement said, "a regular pedicure." She's a scam artist.
