Not only did I like the ambiance, Mints & Honey was tasty!! I got their toast sampler with salmon and two ricotta and strawberry toast bites. I also got the egg toast salad. My friend got the sandwich, and I had a sip of my other friend's coffee which had cinnamon and fun cereal squares in it. The café environment made me feel like life was good-- like it was a carefree weekend morning on a breezy but warm summer day. It felt nostalgic! I found it funny that there were quite a few signs saying that laptops were not allowed on that specific day, yet there was a table full of laptops and people next to us. Idk! In both the prosciutto mozzarella sandwich and the prosciutto fig toast, the abundance of fig jam made it sickening sweet. My friend scraped hers off, slathered some of my green goddess dressing on it then dipped it in her tomato soup so it wouldn't be so one-note. One thing to note is that they're not sweet. They do have sweetener on the table, so that you can adjust your drink to your liking. My tiramisu latte was rich, in an almost bitter way. I didn't add any sugar into it since it was iced, so the sugar wouldn't dissolve, but I still enjoyed it. The food was fine as well. Like the decor, the food also didn't stand out much in terms of presentation or taste. The salmon toast that I got looked a bit lacking, in that it was literally just toast with a few slices of salmon on it - nothing special. Her response felt dismissive, and the look she gave me wasn't welcoming. Out of frustration, I tossed the untouched drink in the outside garbage--drinking a large oatmilk latte with an extra shot, when I wanted matcha, would've ruined my day even more. I loved it here! I was looking for a brunch spot while visiting the city and mints and honey did not disappoint! I ordered the tea tower and it was great! I absolutely love the presentation. I got the little tea sandwiches on the bottom, the salad and biscuit like thing in the middle and the little desserts on top. The biscuit with the jam and whatever butter like spread they had with it with my absolute favorite! I also got a really nice cappuccino with it. I believe it was cinnamon flavored? Very simple but very yummy and the ambience was great. We sat outside and it felt like I was away a European Café. It was the highlight of my trip to San Francisco. Food: coffee and toast were delicious! It was a bit pricy, but the flavor combinations were good. The pricing model for the samplers were off-putting. The sampler itself was priced higher, but if you wanted 4 different kinds, you would end up paying +$9 to +$15 depending on the kind you want. You can essentially choose up to two kinds without raising the price of the sampler plate. If you want four different kinds, you'd probably be better off having four friends and each purchasing your own...then trying each other's orders. Ambiance: everything inside was so cute and photogenic. Note, they do not allow computers on the weekends. There were a couple of guys who were on their devices, but only when we took ours out did we get a warning. But I'm also not sure what the difference is between being on an iPad and being on our phone...and same work was being done with a notebook. The person who told us to put our devices away told us that they were trying to turn tables quickly. The restaurant was not even half full...and their backpack took up a four-top. The other plate also had applewood smoked salmon and strawberry and ricotta along with egg salad on avocado and tuna salad on avocado. The tuna salad was really good! I prefer that over the egg salad. Pairing that with a matcha drink made it just right. I got the matcha lavender latte hot and iced and it was so good! Just one thing to remember is that you have to wait in line to order. Line may look long, but the wait time isn't really that long. You'll be spending your time looking at the menu anyway. Plenty of parking either street or the public parking on Lorton street. Of course it is going to be pricey but by Bay Area standards it's isn't. It's average price for Bay Area. Toasts run for about $5-10, and waffles $10-20. Sweet more affordable than savory. I ordered the ricotta and fig jam on pain de mie and avocado toast on sourdough. Ricotta with fig jam on pain de mie (3/5): this toasted exactly as you would imagine. A piece of soft slightly crunchy bread, creamy ricotta, with a sweet jam. For $6, not terrible, but I didn't view it as anything special. The honey and fig provided sweetness but you didn't get the fruit or floral flavor I expected from a gourmet piece of toast. Avocado toast (3/5): basically guacamole on sourdough. The avocado had a strong sour taste, probably from lime juice, and a touch of spice from the chiles and paprika. The taste brought me back to NFL season hugging a bag of tortilla chips and guac. But for $8, I expected the avocado to be the star and it was not. Service was fine. It's sort of a find your own table while we bring out the food type of deal. I got there at 10 am and the line took 30 mins to get through before I could order. I can't say I would recommend Mints and Honey unless you're prioritizing pictures over the actual food. It's pricey for what it is - not that special ingredients on average bread. This is a fairly big restaurant with outdoor and indoor sitting. There is Burlingame garage just around the corner so parking is pretty easy. When you arrive you order and sit anywhere you like and they bring your food. I don't like places than ask you to tip and then serve you later. You gave to tip without knowing what you expect. This place in particular does not provide water or coffee refills which is pretty standard in brunch places. The water glasses are so small that you fill you are taking a tequila shot We ordered toast sampler and waffle sampler. With their sampler choice you can pick four different choices and then each quarter of your plate would be that food. It us pretty cool as you feel you have four different dishes, but each one is pretty tiny. My wife liked rose jam snd berry on her waffle sampler, and I liked the salmon on cream cheese. It was pretty yummy. The outside sitting was pretty nice. Our baby fall sleep quickly, which shoes the noise level was pretty healthy.
