So everyone had to sit around and wait for me to eat. It was very annoying and just makes no sense! Why would they think we all want to eat separately. Been wanting to try this place but I'm always too late and I'm not for a crowded place. Super clean with lots of seating inside and out. Outside with heat lamps which is a plus. Tables on the inside are close to each other. Food was awesome! Saw the tea tower on yelp but wasn't on their site. You can order it when you get there but only at their Burlingame location. The sea salt flavor was very minimal and I really thought the toast would be softer but it's all good cause flavor was definitely hitting. My second time around I had the specialty s'mores latte and a waffle and both items were executed perfectly. Yes, this is the same Mints & Honey from San Carlos with the same delicious taste, variety of options, and visual appeal. But this is their newer and honestly much better location - more space, better decor, easier to service folks. You've likely seen the picture from this place. That's probably what brought you here. But I also want to reassure you that there is substance behind the beautifully presented food. Whether you want to carb up for the day or go light, there is something for everyone here. While the waffles and sandwiches are great, I'd also recommend trying their variety of different avocado toast. You can always go for the avocado sampler and mix and match to try a little bit of everything. The staff is generally pretty attentive and quick with things. If you have questions, just let them know. I had to flag them a few times but that's to be expected at such a busy spot. I've been to both mints & honey locations and like them both. We usually come in before 10 so we don't get the morning rush and there's more parking options. This location is pretty spacious and you have to order at the register first, grab your number and then seat yourself. This time around I ordered a vanilla bean latte that was phenomenal (wasn't overly sweet, but still had that vanilla bean flavor) and a mozzarella, pesto tomato sandwich with a side salad and it was perfect. I went to their San Carlos location and finally got a chance to try this Burlingame one. It's a prime location walking distance to Avenue. It's a Saturday brunch time. The line was pretty long. This one has a much larger outdoor space on both sides of the restaurant. Which makes it super dog friendly. They also have different settings depending on which side you sit. And it's a lovely modern rustic style. We didn't sit inside and I can see it's a consistent beautiful romantic and floral aesthetics like other locations. Food is healthy creative and beautifully presented. They feature their waffle/toast samplers. I think it's a great deal to try different flavors in one dish. For a matcha lover like me, this place is heaven. They have a whole section for matcha drinks. That's soooooo good! And of course you get your own preferences of sweetness and milk choices. Apparently the front order taking person is too competent to know the difference between the number 2 and 20 and the person with my order needed to walk another 3 rounds after I told him he has my order in search of the nonexistent number 2. Avo toast was good but then again you have to actively try to fuck up an avo toast with eggs. The side of rabbit food disguised as "salad" with shavings of dried carrots is so tasty (for rabbits). It is nothing but an organized robbery with the side of lukewarm at best, tomato water. Utensils so shitty they were about to break every two seconds. Costco plastic forks probably holds up better than their stainless steel sheet cutlery. No chill cafe vibe either because of the loud loud instagram people. This place is cute. A new place for me and was so excited to go and hang out with my girl for her birthday. I will say if your not use to not being able to make reservations and it's more like a first come first serve situation, this place isn't for me or you! I wouldn't drive down to go there to fight with parking even though they have a small parking lot and then to wait in line to not know if you going to get a table by the time your food comes out. There is out side seating but I don't eat outside with the elements and the pets. No shade. My girl showed up and we were scoping a table of course I had to get back in line and she sat at a table, it started to rain as I got back in line, BTW. She came and told me that they made her move because she didn't have a number. That pissed me off because I just saw 2 tables sit with no numbers while one person ordered. My girlfriend and I came for lunch on a Monday and it was surprisingly PACKED! They have lots of tables inside and a row of tables outside on the sidewalk. Service was a little all over the place. A barista tried to deliver the wrong drink to our table twice and then got frustrated and threw it in the trash (which he missed and it exploaded all on to the floor). A solid meh. With so many brunch options in the Bay Area, this one isn't a standout. It's pricey for what you get. We got different choose your own toast options, and we felt that the toast was very hard and chewy and the toppings were meh. Here goes: Egg salad toast: Runny mayo laiden eggs with not much flavor. Salmon with cream cheese: thin strip of salmon and even thinner spread of cream cheese. Again, standard and not much flavor. Tuna salad: really bland tasted like cheap canned tuna with little mayo or added herbs. Curry chicken: dry chicken with a hint of curry Very plain and bland. Avocado toast: just smashed Avocado with no seasoning on hard toast. Orange juice: bitter Iced latte with special vanilla cold foam: couldn't even taste the vanilla or cold foam. Cup of coffee: bitter like it had been sitting around all morning. Side salad: $4 and was small with bitter balsamic dressing. A skip. Overall the service was non existent with a help yourself type attitude but yet when we paid they actually asked us if we wanted to tip before the screen popped up. We did tip but other then them giving us our food the guy didn't help with extra napkins or a to go box. He said we had to go inside and get it ourselves. Tried Mints and Honey for the first time today, and it makes for a pretty good spot for brunch! It's located on the intersection of Howard and Lorton Ave, in a building that used to house a candy shop. I really like what they've done with the space inside: lots of natural light, hanging lights, and plants. I got the berries and yogurt waffle, or 3/4 of a plain waffle with a deconstructed yogurt parfait in the side. If anything, whatever you order here will make for an aesthetic insta post. The waffle is your average waffle; what you're really here for is the toppings/sides. The granola was crunchy and a little sweet thanks to some honey drizzled on it, and all the berries were ripe. There was also this lemon zest sprinkled over some of the fruit, which introduced a subtle zesty flavor. This waffle is a great option if you're wanting something sweet but not over the top. If I stop in again, I'll probably go for one of their toast samplers next time, since they have so many different toast to choose from. read more

Stopped by Mints & Honey before my appointment for a quick coffee and bite. The service was fairly quick and the inside of the restaurant/cafe was super cute!! They have outlets and plenty of seating available, so if you're stuck in Burlingame and need a nice place to work, this would be a great option. Now for the food and coffee, I didn't have time to eat a whole meal so I opted for a bagel and cream cheese. It was your ordinary bagel, nothing more, nothing less. I asked the person at the register what they recommended for coffee and they said to try their pumpkin spice latte ($6.95) since it's seasonal. I took them up on their recommendation and personally wasn't a big fan :/ Upon first sip, it was sour? and a bit grainy from the pumpkin spice. I ordered my sister a lavender latte ($6.85) and she said it was just okay, but there was little to no sweetness/flavor which was disappointing. There were other solo individuals- working, on calls, as well as couples/groups dining. I opted to sit outside and enjoyed it immensely due to the pleasant weather. I ordered the lavender latte, and a toast sampler. Lavender Latte (requested "less sweet") - 5/5 - I already love Verve coffee, and this option with lavender was so good - not watered down, not soapy tasting, it was so comforting, and already want to go back to get another. Toast Sampler (select 4 toppings) - 3/5 - some toppings were better than others. Toppings I got: strawberry w/ rose syrup (4.5/5); curried chicken (2.75/5); mushroom (2.5/5); strawberry ricotta (2.5/5). My favorite was the strawberry with rose syrup as it was the most flavorful of my selections & the flavors complemented each other. The other 3 were not bad, but I didn't taste too much seasoning, or spices, or variance of flavors there. I appreciated that their (Acme) sour batard bread was slightly toasted/grilled(?), slightly crispy on edges and slightly chewy inside. It did take some effort to cut the toast with my butter knife, but I'm sure cutting it on a plate would've been easier than in my takeout container (which was per my request), or directly taking a bite out of it. This was my first visit to this location. I always see a line whenever I pass by. When we arrived around 230pm, they told us they were closing at 3pm. But we can sit outside after 3pm. Not only did I like the ambiance, Mints & Honey was tasty!! I got their toast sampler with salmon and two ricotta and strawberry toast bites. I also got the egg toast salad. My friend got the sandwich, and I had a sip of my other friend's coffee which had cinnamon and fun cereal squares in it. The café environment made me feel like life was good-- like it was a carefree weekend morning on a breezy but warm summer day. It felt nostalgic! I found it funny that there were quite a few signs saying that laptops were not allowed on that specific day, yet there was a table full of laptops and people next to us. Idk! Came here for brunch with one of my girl friends & we waited about 20~ min in line to order which wasn't too bad. The weather was nice. She got the egg and mushroom toast and I got the smoked salmon toast and we both got a matcha latte. There are plenty seating inside along the wall, inside & outside as well.
