After walking past this cute shop so many times in Burlingame, I finally stopped by with my friend. We both ordered the Prosciutto & Mozzarella Sandwich and it was sooooo delicious! I still crave this sandwich on a weekly basis. The combination of prosciutto, mozzarella, arugula, and fig jam is just chef's kiss. If you love a balance between sweet and savory, this sandwich is for you! The interior is so cute and aesthetic. Service wise, it must have been a busy day for them because my sandwich initially came with the wrong bread. I had asked for ciabatta when I placed the order and it came on sourdough. They did end up fixing it and I thoroughly enjoyed the ciabatta! Additionally, my friend's side of greens did not have any dressing on it. Toast Sampler (3/5): There were hit and misses with this one. We really liked the Egg Salad toast, which was well-seasoned with plump chopped eggs! The Avocado + Egg and Creamy Mushroom tasted like how they looked. The Applewood Smoked Salmon was kinda fishy and I definitely did not taste any hint of applewood. Waffle Sampler (2/5): These waffles look like the cheap ones you get at the amusement park! They're busted to the brim with a load of milky white whipped cream. What was most disappointing was how soggy they are -- for the price, I was expecting some artisan-quality house-made fluffy waffles but they're as limp and lifeless as the ones you make in the waffle-maker at my undergrad dining commons! We also ordered a hot latte, which didn't come out even when we got our food. After reminding them, it still took another 15 minutes and by that time we were halfway done with our meal... The interior is very aesthetic for those IG-worthy brunch pics, but some of the inside tables are those tiny flimsy outdoor ones. The guy at the counter was the only one smiling while the other staff looked like they didn't even want to work there. We also did a few drinks like the lavender latte and the yuzu jasmine. The lavender latte was good but the yuzu Jasmine was still pretty sweet after we asked for less sweet. The high tea platter , you get to pick which sandwiches, we did the Curry Chicken, tuna and smoked salmon. It came with scones and a salad and some desserts . For the waffles we did the rainbow, churro, strawberry ricotta, and one more that I can't remember. Overall I thought the food was ok, you order first and then sit down but some people seemed confused. While the coffee was excellent and the food was good, I was deeply disappointed by the service I received. As a person of color, the difference in treatment was stark and undeniable. It was clear that there is either a lack of awareness or a significant bias in how guests are served. Given the quality of your offerings, it is unfortunate that the experience was overshadowed by such poor service. I had to get up for the basics and they were not brought to me like everyone else. I got the rose and strawberry jam toast and it was so light and filling. It was also a very good price for what I got. I thought the portion would be too small but it was fine. The egg and mushroom one was super flavorful as well but i prefer the sweeter one. I also got the lychee jasmine fruit tea which was very refreshing. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, it's always sunny in Burlingame, so you really can't go wrong either way. I've stopped by a few times, once for food, but most often for a drink. Saw this cute brunch place featured in an Instagram reel, so of course I had to come check it out. Found parking in a parking garage nearby and came with a friend for Sunday brunch a little before noon. The restaurant was quite busy, and most of the indoor tables that we saw were already taken. There was a line that was slowly forming outside the entryway, and as we joined in, we noticed that the line led straight to the cashier to order. This is a PSA to everyone who is indecisive like me: look at the menu beforehand so that you know what to order when it's your turn because I did zero research on the menu before coming and made quite a spontaneous decision on what to get. How it works is you line up to order/pay, they'll ask whether you want to sit indoors/outdoors and give you a number to put on your table, and you can choose your seat. Water is self serve (and the cups they have are tiny and quite adorable). We ended up waiting about 15 minutes for the food to come out, and since we were planning to go to a cafe later, we opted to skip the drinks for this visit. My brunch buddy ordered the strawberry + ricotta waffles, while I got the prosciutto + fig jam toast, and both of us liked our choices! Nothing mind blowing, but overall pretty solid. I will note, if you are starving, maybe don't get what we ordered because the portion sizes weren't that large. Not food related, but the bathrooms were quite clean, and we also liked that the sinks were located outside of the bathrooms and that there was no physical door separating the sink area from the dining area, meaning you didn't have to touch an unclean door with your freshly washed hands. The toasts and sandwiches are fine and taste good. Pricey but not something I'd be offended by. HOWEVER, the waffle is the worst thing I ever had. I had just finished a race and was starving, I was primed to enjoy anything. That's how bad this waffle was. $17 for a single,cold, grainy, terrible tasting waffle. They tried to disguise the disgusting thing with 5 inches of whipped cream. The syrup was also wrong with respect to taste and consistency. I walked into Mints & Honey around 9:15am and was initially helped by a friendly cashier who walked me through the menu since I hadn't been in a while. I asked for recommendations for something filling, and she suggested the toast sampler. I ordered, paid about $30, and found a seat. At the time, there were easily 15-20 open seats in the café. About a few minutes, a server (wearing glasses) approached me with a sign stating "No laptops on weekends." There was no greeting, no acknowledgment that I had just ordered, and no apology -- just the sign. I asked whether, after paying $30 for breakfast, I wasn't even able to sit for an hour to enjoy my food and briefly use my laptop. His response was simply that they could issue a refund. What was most disappointing wasn't the policy itself -- businesses are entitled to set policies -- it was the complete lack of customer service. There was no "I'm sorry," no explanation about weekend traffic, no offer to let me at least enjoy my food before leaving. Meanwhile, there were still plenty of open seats. It felt abrupt and unwelcoming, especially after just placing a full-priced order. A little empathy or hospitality would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, because of how this was handled, I won't be returning. Management should be aware of how situations like this are communicated -- especially to paying customers. read more

It was really loud inside but it's expected for a brunch place like this. Food: 4/5 Albacore tuna melt toast - SO good. Generous amount of tuna and the bread was sooo soft. Wish I omitted the cheese on top though. Chopped salad - The dressing that came with it was so delicious. Salad itself was incredibly fresh and I loved how there were oranges in it. Curry chicken sandwich - The color of the curry was not what I'm used to (yellow) and my bf said the taste was barely like curry but the chicken was really tender. As always, downtown Burlingame is packed on the weekends; I ended up parking 4 blocks away, but it was a nice walk. There was a line already formed; you order then you sit. They won't let you sit down first, so I suggest you scout the restaurant for available seating and then quickly make your order so you can sit down. The seating was pretty limited when we ordered and we were afraid that we wouldn't have a place to eat our food. I can't remember what my friends got, but I ordered the Breakfast sandwich with Ciabatta bread with a side salad, and a cold matcha latte. We managed to snag a table outside after waiting for another party to leave. The salad was refreshing with the fresh veggies and sour vinaigrette dressing. The sandwich looked small, but it's actually the perfect size. I think they could have added more egg, but there is a generous amount of avocado slapped in there. Overall the food is pretty good. Since they have outdoor seating I would consider coming back with Coco. Interaction with the service staff was pretty minimal: you order your food with them, they bring it later; no check-ins or anything. read more

Met up with some friends for brunch on a Saturday and was so excited to try this place as I had bookmarked it! I looked at the Yelp photos and menus and HAD to come! When they added an edible flower and pink/green thinly sliced radish, it elevated the dishes. Very IG worthy. When our drinks came, I tasted my Matcha Jasmine and was so pleased with the Jasmine essence that totally elevated the drink!! I am still thinking about it and was savoring every sip. :-) First I tried the Salmon sandwiches and it was a nice start with the thinly sliced salmon. Next was the Avocado which was so creamy and the egg was perfectly done. The chewy & crunchiness of the Acme bread was great. It was a bit hard to divide so a server saw us struggling with it and gave us a better serrated knife. We were cutting it in 4s so everyone could have a sample. The Curry Chicken sandwich was creamy & mild; the Prosciutto and Fig Jam was tasty and the Nutella & Berries was a good sweet ending. We were busy talking and I was enjoying more of the savory tastings which was a fun variety we chose. With the aromatic Jasmine Matcha Latte, it was a symphony of flavors. I came here early on a Monday morning and it was fairly empty and easy to get seated. More importantly, it was super easy to find parking right outside! My friends and I tried the waffle sampler and the toast sampler. I also had the Nutella latte which was pretty good - the Nutella wasn't very strong but I could definitely taste the hazelnut in it. The waffles weren't anything special but they were definitely fun to try. The toasts on the other hand were pretty good and we liked all of them. We ended up ordering a full size of the fig toast later since that was the favorite amongst the group. As we were leaving closer to 11, it was starting to get a little more crowded in the restaurant - and this was on a Monday. TLDR: I would not come here on an empty stomach. The food tastes good, but my drink was OK. I would only come back to try other drinks given that the serving size, for food, is quite small for what you pay for. Considering price, flavor, and portions, it's an OK spot. The toast leans towards savory, but the tomatoes cut the creaminess of the ricotta and serves as a great palette refresher. It's a good flavor combination for sure! As for the tomato basil soup, it was just your run-of-the-mill soup. Although I enjoyed this dish, I would not get it again. For $16 (without tip), I essentially got a slice of bread and a cup of soup. I get it, it's Burlingame, but another piece of toast would've made my experience better. Rose Latte: A bit too strong of a rose taste - it wasn't bad since that's what you order a rose latte for, but I think it would've been better if it was less potent. I would definitely try other drinks here as they have a set of pretty unique drinks (i.e. their matcha). Service: My experience with service was very cookie-cutter. You order at the front with a cashier, receive a number upon ordering, and the food/drinks are served to you at your table. Nothing out of the ordinary and nothing extraordinary. The waffles were soft and lacked any real texture--some crispness would've helped balance out the toppings. Maybe their toast sampler is better? I might come back just to try that. Five of us on one small table I so badly wanted to LOVE this cute shop, but the snacks served were not good. As cute as the whole three tier tea snacks was I was unimpressed especially with the little curry sandwhich (yeah, that was weird). The egg salad was bland and I felt like I was being suffocated by how much the staff was attending to our tables. Consistently coming in and taking things, refilling hot tea which is good , but not constantly. It would have been more enjoyable to have been able to dine in some privacy but the workers were watching us like a hawk. The tea wasn't anything special and the scone was the worst part. The top tier had six mini sweets, middle tier is choice of scone with jam & cream or veggie or meat quiche, and the bottom is a sampler of toasts or waffles. It gave us the combination of sweet and savory we both wanted. We chose the vanilla scone which was still warm. It came with cream cheese and jam. Here's what we chose for our toast sampler (you choose 4): Tomato + Ricotta, Rose + Strawberry, Prosciutto + Fig Jam, Mango + Tajin. There is a self serve water station. Service is good. I don't feel like they really checked on us once we got our food, however. Bathrooms are clean. Great place for brunch, but I did observe some people come and use it as a cafe to get some work done. Today was our first time coming here. It was my suggestion, because I would always pass by and never go in. My friend and I did not know that we had to order at the counter and have a seat. When we first walked in, the tall male working the coffee machine/ counter looked at us as we stood there (first in line) empty btw... also keep in mind this is around 9 AM. He did not acknowledge us at all with a hello we will be with you in a moment. We just stood in line for about a minute or two. We were actually really confused on whether or not we just go in and sit inside. The people behind us who came shortly after us waiting there just went to the other side and just sat down so we decided OK. We will sit down and see if they will just come and take our orders there. We weren't sure how it worked. We waited a little while without any menus and we were just thinking to ourselves. Where do we order? Honestly, not a good look for a beautiful café. They were not even busy at all. It would have been nice to at least be acknowledged when you first walk in and at least for them to tell us that they will be with us momentarily, which would have been nice. Honestly, that was a big kicker for me. Although their food was very delicious and very well put together the portions were great and the coffee tasted amazing. I would honestly say that I would not come back because the lack of acknowledgment in the beginning, especially for someone to come and visit your establishment as a new customer who has never been there before it would be nice to have some sort of acknowledgment we didn't know how the ordering worked. We even asked the cashier the first cashier that we had dealt with which was a lady, and she said that we would have to order at the counter, which was fine, but it would have been nice if we had our acknowledgment in the beginning of if they would have asked us if we had any questions. Very cute spot! We celebrated a friend's birthday here and really enjoyed the ambiance. We felt this was like high tea with a modern twist (think fewer doilies and fancy hats, more geometric brushed gold accents). PARKING Parking was a little challenging on a Saturday at 1pm. Note half a block south, on the same side of the street, there is a parking garage offering all day parking for $3. THE COST About $130 total (including tax/tip) for 2 towers. This was enough food for 5 people who weren't super hungry. Everyone also got their own coffee drink. THE COFFEE * Matcha mango latte $6.50 - 4 stars. I didn't realize this was an iced latte, but it was still enjoyable! There were fresh mango chunks in the drink. Mints & Honey is my new addiction. I love their gluten-free toast sampler. My favs are the chicken curry and peanut butter/banana. Their gluten-free bread is pretty good, and everything on top is always good and fresh. I highly recommend trying their butterfly pink lemonade! This place is extremely busy, lines out the door! Parking can be difficult as it is in downtown Burlingame. Service is friendly, but after you order, you really don't have much interaction with the staff after they drop off the food to your table. I love bringing people here for an aesthetic brunch. The outdoor seating is such a nice vibe and even the indoor has plenty of seating room. My go to is the either the toast sampler or the toast with tomato bisque on the side. I like how they have seasonal toasts too. The one right now is peach and ricotta! This was my wife and my first time at the Mints & Honey Burlingame location. We've been multiple times to their first location in San Carlos. We always order the same two things -- the curry chicken sandwich on sourdough and the avocado toast. My wife really enjoyed their avocado toast, because the avocado is smashed, the seasoning is a bit spicy. I usually eat most of the curry chicken sandwich which is very well seasoned on lightly toasted bread. This place is located in downtown Burlingame. I went when the weather was rainy & parking wasn't too hard. There is a parking garage about 1-2 blocks away though and you do have to pay to park in there. I arrived at the restaurant at 10:30a, and there was a very short line. The service was great from ordering at the counter to when they brought our food. The place is nice and pretty spacious. The presentation of the food was very nice. I ordered: * Vanilla bean latte: it was good! I love drinking coffee out of a large soup like cup, especially since it was cold out. I'd definitely order it again. * Matcha Latte: My friend ordered this and it looked delicious. She finished it so I'm sure it was good! * Strawberry & Ricotta waffle: Presentation was pretty but the flavor was a little bland. I thought it was weird that it only came with 3 waffle quadrants. Most waffle makers have 4 quadrants. I'm not sure if this is a cost saving mechanism or maybe their waffle maker is individual? Regardless, I thought it was odd. I ordered the curry chicken salad sandwich and it was pretty good! It's sort of like curry chicken that's been covered all over devils egg. The curry chicken was cold when I expected it to be warm but it was still tasty. I paid two dollars extra for soup instead of salad and the soup was delicious! Not too salty and full of flavor. The service is quick as well. You stand in line to order and pay, and then you choose a seat and they'll bring you your food shortly after! read more

While we were working in Burlingame, this was the first coffee shop that popped up on Yelp and wanted to give it a shot. Parking was a challenging task as downtown Burlingame is busy throughout the day. I found a spot around a few blocks away and enjoyed seeing all the shops and restaurants in the area during my walk. As I walked in, it was filled with coffee lovers enjoying their food/coffee over a nice conversation. They offer a full lunch menu along with creative items such as their waffle selection. I had already eaten lunch and only came for the coffee. I ordered a cold brew for myself and vanilla cream cold brew for my wife. As I was waiting, I scanned the decor and took in the environment. It was very warm, welcoming and cozy. The service was great - very nice people. Def a place I would want to try out for lunch. The coffee's were good! My cold brew was smooth and it tasted like it came from high quality beans. My wife enjoyed the vanilla cream cold brew - the right amount of sweetness (we ordered it with half the vanilla pumps). We had a delicious lunch there this week! The young cashier was very friendly. The bread tastes super fresh and both meals were really good, so we shared (Mozzarella tomato toast and the Albacore tuna melt). It was the weekend so we did have to wait in line a bit. Inside it gets fairly noisy at peak times, but there are outside tables to enjoy as well. We will def be going back. read more
