I had the lobster special. Great. Wife and cousin split the chicken Marsala. The server said the other half was delayed. We all thought we either misunderstood or she made a mistake. What was served was a huge portion of chicken and a large side of spaghetti. Shure enough she brought the other half. Boxed it up and took it home. My cousin in law had cheese ravioli. Go figure. I visited one of my top ten favorite happy hour spots and top two local Italian restaurants with friends on a Friday afternoon. Arriving at 3:50 PM, our group secured five bar stools just before the bar reached capacity. Tonight was our first time dining at DiFebo's and it was absolutely delicious! We started with the garlic bread and calamari, both were so good and quickly devoured by the four of us! The entrees were fantastic. We had chicken Parmesan, chicken marsala, the lump crab tagliatelle special and the cioppino. I only got photos of the appetizer and my cioppino and the picture doesn't do it justice, it is huge and so flavorful. Full of fresh, tender seafood and a slightly spicy tomato broth, just what I wanted. Our server, Sal, was fantastic as well. So knowledgeable, and friendly. Last night we had yet another 5 star meal at DiFebo's! It was a very busy night yet we waited for nothing. Our server Gianna was 10 out of 10. The chicken Parm is so large and the cutlets are pounded thin which is the only way I like them. My boyfriend had the cioppino and it's the largest portion I've ever seen in a restaurant with so much seafood. We topped it off with the peach cobbler and called it a night! I'm kind of annoyed because this restaurant offers gluten free options but are not transparent about any up charge for it. Holy cow- $6 up charge for pasta and $4 for a roll! My husband and I came this past Saturday 5/30/2026 arriving at 4:50 PM without a reservation, I checked online and did not notice anything mentioning we should have one. We were seated way back in a far corner. My husband ordered the steak which he (not exaggerating) needed a chainsaw to cut! I ordered the parmesan cutlet special - the chicken was good with the exception of it being placed on mashed potatoes which made the underside extremely soggy! Our waitress never came back to check on us to see how our food or we were, not until we were finished and ready for the bill. Let me first say how I was looking forward to eating here since I frequent the other establishment in Rehoboth . Started with cocktails, I had the Old Fashioned Italian which I really enjoyed and Wifey had her usually; after that it was down hill from there. Started with cocktails a watermelon gazpacho and the DiFebo' garlic bread which I found to be greasy(maybe oily is better), the gazpacho was so so, not much of a watermelon taste. Entrees is where it really went downhill, Wifey had chicken piccata with pasta which we found to be very salty and we like salt. I had the linguine with clams (white), not much flavor considering the pasta was swimming in a pool of liquid. The killer here was the 5 little neck clams it came with and the first one I bite into was filled with sand...The second one was gritty. ( no one ever came by with some grated cheese for the pastas). Not a pleasant experience, we enjoyed the wine with dinner , Chianti Classico Banfi Reserva. We left and left our gift certificate and cash for a tip. ( Left disappointed)...As I was driving home we get a phone call from the manager telling us that the gift certificate was not honored there. No one ever said anything to my Wife when she purchased the gift certificate where it was to be used; nor does it say it on the gift certificate. Usually a Di-fabulous experience - perhaps since they were very busy with upcoming holiday and packed, tonight was simply Di-BigMiss. Burned, maybe even day old lasagna, usually a standard go-to for us, was charred and so hard to even cut with a knife. Numerous gnats flying around landing in the cocktails not even half finished and over-cooked linguine. Appetizer special labeled Jerusalem artichoke was not a Jerusalem artichoke but simply a fried artichoke piece procured from a jar. I knew I was going to be in Bethany Beach and I heard that DiFebo's was the best Italian restaurant in the area. So I made a reservation a few weeks in advance after hearing this hype. Having said that, DiFebo's was decent, but not as good as I hoped. To explain, I started things off with the garlic bread which was very tasty. The bread was fresh, light, and was topped with delicious garlic and cheese. It was simply great garlic bread. After that, I ordered the lasagna with a meatball. I was hoping the results would be the same as the garlic bread, but sadly they weren't. To clarify, the lasagna had good flavor and the pasta tasted homemade. In addition, the red sauce was flavorful with a hint of sweetness. Also, the meatball was great. It was savory and sweet. However, this was all wasted because the dish was cold. I was shocked and disappointed that such an expensive restaurant would serve cold food, but sadly they did. I assume the food was sitting for at least fifteen minutes before I received it. If the food was warm, it could have been top tier Italian food. To finalize, DiFebo's is a decent Italian restaurant that could be great if they didn't serve cold food. read more

We have been here twice and enjoyed it immensely both times. This time around I got gluten free pasta and Gianna was super helpful with walking me through the gluten free options! The italian wedding soup was delicious and had a lot of meatballs! Not complaining about that! The caesar salad was also pretty tasty. Went in to purchase Jeff's Hot Olive Oil on 9/29/25 a Monday. Manager was speaking with a staff member and the server/bartender was serving tables and told me he was busy an would be with me in a few minute. I told him I want to purchase the large Olive Oil an he said we might not have it but could help me out with a discount if not. Waited 12 more minutes then Manager and said he would check. He said we only have small bottles which are 33% more. I asked him about what the bartender/server stated about a discount given they did not have the larger bottle available and said the Owner would not allow me to discount it. I said I just waited here 15 minutes and was told I may be able to get a discount. Awful customer service by the Manager I thought and wantef to share. Lasagne did not disappoint. I had the panzanella salad with grilled chicken which was fresh and perfectly dressed. Portions were big enough to share or take home. I had half the salad for brunch the following day and was glad I saved it. Our server (whose name I forget, was attentive and patient with group decision/making). Lastly we sampled and shared a few desserts: cannoli, peanut butter pie, chocolate tart and seasonal cobbler. They all seemed to be made in house and everyone had a favorite. I give the entire experience (which could have gone wrong due to my scheduling snafu) 5 stars! I would not hesitate to recommend DiFebo's to anyone looking for a special meal at the beach. They take reservations - which allows you to avoid crowds and wait. Plenty of parking at market parking lot across the street. We often eat at DiFebos and Friday night was one of their best nights. The food which sometimes could be inconsistent was uniform of excellent and a special shout out for the fish stew. I had fish stew at several different restaurants on this trip and this was by far the best and one of the best fish dudes I've had anywhere. They were extremely generous with the mussels (at least 20) though I could've had couple more clams. The fried calamari also was excellent. Another dish we order a lot and our friend who is a seafood affection Out thought it was the best she ever had. Certainly it was the best cook. Perfectly tender. My only quibble would be I think this nice of a restaurant really should have better wines on this wine list. Almost none of the lower price wines are very well rated and they're definitely are better Wines at those price points to be had. read more

Birthday Twin and I had a craving for good old fashioned Italian food while on our Bethany getaway. We had spent the day in the beach then napped. A quick review of Yelp's app pointed us to DeFebo's. We hopped in her car and headed inland. We arrived at about 8:30, an hour before their closing. We didn't have a reservation, so we were told we could sit at the bar and order, they had no tables available. Okay. So we head over there. The staff were quite friendly and amiable. We ordered Prosecco to start, then I got the Cavatappi Bolognese while she got the Abruzzo Ravioli. Yes, it was real bolognese, big meat and tomato sauce, and it was delicious. The Abruzzo ravioli was also yum, with a creamier, on the savory side gravy. Very Abruzzese, we speak from experience on that. So...why four stars? Empty tables. Lots of them. Servers doing side work or just chatting. They had tables, or an extraordinary number of reservation no shows. I'm betting the former, and that what really happened is that the staff wanted to leave right at close and a late table would make that impossible. I get it, both FDC and I have been servers. We understand wanting to leave on a lovely weekend night right at close. That doesn't make for a good guest impression or experience and should not be permitted by the front of house managers. Will we be back? Probably, with a reservation, because the food was good. It wouldn't be top of our list though. read more
