I was subjected to a serious food born illness after eating Shashuka eggs at Mioposto's restaurant in Seattle's Mt. Baker neighborhood. The bacteria present in my dish was most likely the result of cross contamination, the result of poor preparation protocols, kitchen and personal hygiene, and not from the eggs themselves. The eggs were served to me undercooked however so, the possibility exists that the Campylobacter bacteria, found on the surface of the egg's shell contaminated the dish. Either way I find it totally unacceptable that anyone should be subjected to food poising by way of service from a "professional" kitchen. Mioposto is not worthy of your patronage. Mioposto offered to help but, then reneged their offer because they know they can't be held accountable. I say bullshit! Do't eat there. The illness from Campylobacter is no joke and it will take you out for entire week (5-7 days) or more, and wreak havoc on your GI for many days after. It's also a life threatening. You'd think that, as result of COVID these past years, that restaurants would have heightened levels of consideration in sourcing, preparing, and handling of food but, I'm sorry to say that's just not the case at Mioposto. read more

Delicious, interesting unusual flavors like lamb pizza and clam-proscuttio. Fresh handmade dough, nicely toasted crust, and some of the delicate ingredients added late in the cooking process so they weren't overcooked. Wow, a quaint wood fired pizza joint. I found a very charming decor to chill & enjoy a meal and maybe consume a cocktail or two. If table seating is not your thing there's a huge "L" shaped bar surrounding the prep space with at least 15 chairs to sit at. As you can imagine there lots of seating available and I've never had to wait for table service. Now I've consumed a few items all which were scrumptious. All left you seeking more. They operate wood fired oven that does most of the work. Everything from the succulent rib eye steak, my pizza I ordered and clams a appetizer. The clams really enjoyable and the chef really kept it simple yet enhanced this appetizers taste. The Caesar salad is very basic, but hey we all need some ruff-age. As for the pie you can build your own or choose from several designer pizzas. My choice was the Pinocchio which was a blend of olives, salami, fennel sausage & pepperoni all fresh ingredients. What really makes this pizza is the olive tapenade mix added to the flesh, the salts exploded onto my taste buds which really made me crave more Manny's beer from the Georgetown brewery that's on tap. Very refreshing pizza and a perfect ending to a warm summer day in The Emerald City. Lovely lunch on a lovely spring day. I ordered the spring lamb lunch special with a small Caesar salad. The eight-inch pizza is perfect for one. It had lamb sausage, red onion, a herb sauce, tomatoes, and chevre. I had no trouble tucking it away. Incredibly rude to make customers pay $5 for a salad like this (1/3 cost of the sandwich I paired it with, but at least 1/100 the cost for Mioposto) though......it's literally like 6 or 7 partial pieces of lettuce. It's obviously not that your customers can't afford it, but it is just lazy and disappointing for your brand. Small things like that make a difference, it is more or less the primary reason I don't eat here semi-weekly like I did when I first found the restaurant. Please, do better. No, it's not that the packaging looks small, it's that 1oz is an unnecessarily small portion and it would be better from a business standpoint to leave customers feeling like they got their money's worth rather than save an extra 16oz of lettuce each week when it really doesn't save you that much cost. And that's even without mentioning that I didn't even receive that measly 1oz... ($5 for it too). It's not the price or the portion themselves that's at issue, is that's they're dope far off of alignment with each other (deceptive advertising). Would have had no problem paying more for a salad if it would've been an actual side portion for a full adult (not a kid's size side). Never in my life have I seen so little lettuce for so much money, that's for sure. Tl:dr, not the place to be cutting corners it sends the message to some customers that you're just in the business of maximizing your profit at the expense of even feigning a desire to provide robust meal. No trip to Seattle is complete without my Mioposto! I usually stay nearby the Mt. Baker joint, or within commuting distance. My first time here, I dined in because it was summer, and I was staying nearby in an Airbnb - they recommended this place! I don't eat meat, but that doesn't matter. You need to try the Quattro Formaggi pizza! The lemon zest makes it!!! In fact, I have recommended this pizza by word of mouth than any other restaurant I've ever been to!!! Last trip I ordered via a delivery service as it was further away, raining, cold, and I had had a cocktail or two! I am happy to know I can get my order in! I ordered 2 pizzas: my usual & the crowd favourite Con le Petate. My take on the Patate: wayyyy too much oil. Like the pizza crust was soaked in oil and the box even was leaking oil all over. I think the chef used the whole bottle of truffle oil on it. It was 15,000 calories a slice after that. The taste was good, but you just can't get the oils off of your hands or palate for hours. We were on our way to the university village for dinner, were diverted by cops and couldn't get into University village. Driving around after 10pm there weren't many places that were still open, we found this place and decided to try it. It's a cute little place with excellent service. We ordered the spring lamb pizza and lasagna. We picked lamb pizza since it's not usually available, and were so happy that we did. I loved the pizza. This restaurant owner is so stingy cheap they refuse to provide menus. They could have taken down one of the paintings on the wall and put up a frikkin' chalkboard. They could have trained the waitstaff to rattle off the menu, but no! I am giving 4 stars due to the service. My friends took me here for my 18th birthday and when we arrived, we were told it was a 25 minute wait, but we waited almost an hour. We wouldn't have minded an hour wait, but the upsetting part is being told a false wait time. It also seemed like staff was taking their time. The actual server we had was really nice even though she had lost her voice. I liked her service a lot, she wished me a happy birthday like 3 times, made me feel kinda special. Now for the food. We got the potato pizza and the classic pizza (forgot the names). The pizza with the thinly sliced potatoes was amazing! I have never had a pizza with potatoes on it, it was so unique and delicious. The other pizza was just a cheese pizza, but not much cheese. It was still yummy though. To top off the night, we had ordered their chocolate mousse cake and it was fucking bomb as hell. I was going to eat the whole thing by myself, but I had to let my friends try a little bit to experience the taste (plus they brought 3 forks LOL). I loved the cake and I'll probably come back just for the cake alone. I believe this place doesn't take reservations unless it's a large group, so just be prepared for some waiting. Happy hour menu is great. We had literally one of everything. The calamari and the dragon daiquiri are delish. My family loved the lamb pizza which is not easy to find. If you get there before 5pm you can grab a table. It fills up quickly. They have one long bench table that was great for our large party. Street parking was easy to find. Understand everything is hard these days and everyone is doing there best. That said, the online order for 6:15 pickup was changed to 6:30 when I went to complete the order. Okay-15 minutes is no big deal and they let me know. Then, after completing the purchase, the time changed to 6:45. Arrive to pick up my order (2 entrees and 2 salads) but don't get it until 7. This place was golden! It is a hidden gem! No reservations needed, just walk in. This place will definitely be one of my favorite places to eat. Before I even walked into the restaurant I already loved it. Right when we walked in, the server was kind and welcoming. There was not a lot of people so you can actually have a conversation with someone without yelling across the table. I know a lot other Italian restaurants in the cities of Seattle are popular, but honestly they are way too packed with people, the environment is uncomfortable and are often too loud! Holy shit I just had the best fried chicken sandwich I've ever had. The "Mama Mio" is fucking spectacular, as someone who really loves a good sandwich, this is a top tier one. The chicken is juicy and delicious and whatever the sauce is on it needs to be studied by the best chefs in the world. My husband and I will go here for all kinds of occasions - the vibe is casual and cozy for when we're feeling too tired to fuss, but nice enough for more of a date night too. I have driven by this corner for 20+ years and never stopped in until yesterday. I went to Mioposto not knowing what they served for food or anything at all just based on the location and the look from outside. The restaurant has a new and warm/inviting feel to it. It just seemed like a good place to be. They have very large open windows for air to flow through on the hot summer nights. People were sitting inside and outside the restaurant. We just walked in at 8pm with 4 people,no wait. The server was very friendly and fast, our drinks came in a couple minutes. The prices were reasonable for Seattle. I ordered a meatball sandwich, others had a pizza, lasagna, and a beat salad with chicken. We were all happy with the experience and I would recommend to anyone to check the place out. read more

I absolutely loved this place before, told everyone about it because it tasted like when I lived in Italy, and came here whenever I was in town to go to the VA hospital, but I don't get to the city often, and apparently it was bought out by a new owner a ways back according to a search engine. The ambiance is kind of the same, the menu is technically the same, but it's just not. The front of the house staff is definitely less diverse than before, which is so sad. Thankfully the back of the house is still as awesome as the ingredients they are given can be, and had food out way before it was ever delivered to the tables - I know, because I sat right there, and it was only 1/4 capacity when I sat down. The wait staff is rude (there were tons of small open tables but they didn't like that I didn't want to sit at the bar even though my spine physically hurts sitting on a stool) and rushes you - I had two bites of salad before my pizza came out, and I ordered it 15 minutes later. The pizza was thinner in both crust and toppings than ever before, and way more oily - literally soggy. And after 10 minutes, the wait staff came over and asked if I wanted the check because she said I pushed my salad away... well yeah, I like my pizza when it's still warm, so that's what I was eating at the moment. I'm also pretty good at wine, and I don't think I was brought what I ordered. I'm so bummed that this place seems to have cut a lot of corners. This place is so dang cute and quaint, and it is such a nice place to go to for a casual dinner and glass of wine. Seating is limited, but we've rarely had any problems getting a table. The kitchen is open and facing the seating, and you can watch the cooks hand throwing your pizza. I love to order the Cold Antipasto Salad , and my man's fav dish is a personalized meaty pizza (they have a yummy crust). Don't just try Mioposto for dinner. 4 stars makes sense for this place and here's why; the atmosphere is great, the food is great, the service is ok but not great, and the wait between when you order and actually get your food is longer than average. We came in with 4 people (double date) and sat outside on the small patio. We ordered 2 appetizers, 2 salads, and 2 pizzas. The apps were the same but 1 came out 10 min before the other which wasn't bad just odd. Then we waited 45 min for the salads and another 10 for the pizzas. For me that's a bit long between apps and salads especially when the salads did not have anything that needed to be cooked on them. Nevertheless all of the food was amazing. This cozy spot is one that never disappoints! The zucca-basalimica pizza is my favorite. The happy hour is also amazing because my daughter gets the clams and they are the perfect size for her. In the holiday time they put lights up around the windows and it's so festive, we love coming here on Friday nights and then walking to see a movie down the street. Why does one of your waiters insist on taking our order without writing anything down? He messed up our entire order, it came at different times and he forgot to put a pizza order lol. Pizzas before salads and appetizers lol because he forgot to put them in, and he thought someone asked for a dinner salad but they actually wanted a small salad and pizza as their entree which he never put in. Also forgot our drinks. An entire mess from beginning to end but he comped one of our pizzas like it was a favor to us but the entire meal was a goddamn mess. We ordered desserts, didn't write them down, had to come back to confirm all four of us wanted a dessert and it wasn't just three. I get he's confident but just write down the goddamn order. read more
