Came here for a late dinner after work as it was recommended and it was great. A little entrance and long and thin place, full of customers. Lovely staff who were very helpful and a great atmosphere. We had the most expensive items on the menu - scallops and then a 'special' veal with a bottle of wine, which were beautiful but it did become quite expensive @$70 per person. Esposa and I went here for dinner on a Sat night. Cool place, wonderful staff, nice vibe. We started with the seared scallops, which were excellent. Shared the gnocchi w short rib ragu. Good, but could have used more assertive flavor in the sauce imo. Also shared the shell steak....coked perfectly, as were the potatoes and broccoli that came with. Great anniversary spot. It's a small little restaurant so it feels a lot more intimate. My husband loved it, the meats and cheese platter especially. I got the lamb chops which I was slightly disappointed with because the portions were small (even smaller than your average lamb chop sizes). I managed to fork off only a bite or two from each lamb chop. My husband got the black pasta. He said it was great but I found it to be closer to good than great. read more

I chose this restaurant from the positive reviews and cute looking space and was not disappointed. We were able to make a reservation for 8 people on a Friday evening. When we were running late they were very accommodating and did not give us problems. The waiter was very friendly and they also kindly stored our ice cream cake for us. They have a good variety of wine and cocktails to choose from. The cheese and meat platter was also appetizing. The black linguine was filled with fresh squid and shrimp, although I feel like it could have used a bit of a kick, perhaps some garlic? It was a great evening with no stress. read more

I held a birthday dinner here in late December (after Christmas) with about 16 others. It's arguably the BEST dining experience I've ever had! I corresponded with Alessandro to arrange the dinner through e-mail, and he was very kind and accommodating with having the menu served "a la carte" for such a big group of people despite them having a smaller kitchen. When six of us got there, our waiter led us down a small flight of hidden stairs and a small corridor that led into the Farm House room, a private cellar dining room underneath the restaurant. I felt like we were walking into an underground tunnel. The table and room were set up beautifully. It was as private and elegant as it looks in the pictures! It has a very homely, European countryside vibe to it. Really felt like I was transported to another world. We stayed in the room and chatted while another waiter brought the others down as they got there. There was a coat check area right outside of the dining room, and the kitchen right next to it. Our waiter was with us the whole night and he was very patient, helpful, funny, friendly, and attentive. He checked up on us a lot and really made the dinner a fantastic experience. The wine selection was very diverse and top-of-the-notch. I'm not a wine connoisseur, but the white wine we had was really rich and tasty, and paired really well with our meal according to others in the group. We were given bread and olive oil to hold us over before our meal arrived. It was a bit of a wait for the food, but it was expected and time flew by quickly from conversation because of the waiter and the great atmosphere! The food was cooked in a very home-made style. One of the hallmarks from their menu was the black linguine, and it was delicious. I had the salmon and it was cooked very well. The gnocchi served that day was savory. The meatballs were tasty. The only complaint from others was that the Tris di Canederli was a little too dry and that portion sizes weren't as grandiose as a couple people expected from Italian restaurants, but I found the portion size for my dish to be perfect. The prices were also quite reasonable. I was surprised with a birthday cake my girlfriend brought in at the end, and the staff was kind enough to cut it and serve it to us at no additional cost! (usually there's a cutting fee) I would definitely go again. I believe Alessandro mentioned family meals are 20% off for the first six weeks of 2017, so now would be a great time to check it out if you want amazing home-style Italian food in an amazing restaurant. I did not make a scene...my sister in law killed it with her napkin and I took it discreetly to our waitress and Explained what happened. I really honestly wanted to like this place especially because I had seen it all over social media. But unfortunately my visit didn't go as planned. As soon as we got greeted we were sat at a table that was so narrow by the entrance it was super uncomfortable. It made the place feel as though it was super small but in reality has a huge back area that is beautiful that sadly I've only seen online because we didn't make it past the bar area. The drinks were terrible. I had the lucifero and it was awful it was super acidic I couldn't even swallow it down. My friend had the pop star and she had to send it back to get it fixed and it still was pretty bad and she was thrown off by the caramel popcorn on top because she felt it didn't go with the drink whatsoever. We ordered the bruschetta in hopes of being your typical bruschetta and it was just sauteed mushrooms on top which threw us off completely because we expected something totally different. I know the menu says bruschetta of the day but due to allergen reasons I feel it needs to be communicated to the guest prior to ordering to ensure it's a win win situation when the platter comes out. We also ordered the calamari salad and it was super bland with no flavor at all. I also ordered my pasta and my noodles were hard not al dente but hard where I simply couldn't enjoy my meal. The owner was very friendly and tried to get me a menu to see if I could get something else and even took the items we didn't like off our bill. But nonetheless it wasn't a winner for me in my end unfortunately. Place is small with a more modern decor. Restaurant is an odd shoe and we sat in the back. Food was good. Had a. Side of carrots which were nice and crunchy with food butter flavors. Began with zucchini Parmesan which was an unusual yet tasty dish. Got a pasta dish to follow which I also enjoyed. Wines by the glass included Barolo. Service nice and attentive and friendly. Alessandro and his staff were so accommodating from my personalized menu to allowing us to come a little bit earlier to decorate a little. We had a group of 10 and ordered from a prix fixe menu. Traveling to New York there are far too many choices for good Italian food, but I'm so glad I stumbled upon Misirizzi! I was able to make a reservation with little notice and came in around 9:30pm. The restaurant can only accomodate 8-10 parties it seems because the area is so narrow and long, but that made it feel so cozy and authentic. There are many different options for entrees, and I had the Homemade Strascinati. It was delicious, and to my surprise a bit spicy for Italian food! If that's something you enjoy, I would recommend that dish as well as a glass of La Bolina red wine. Overall it was a fantastic experience with very nice ambiance and wait staff. read more

This place won me over on New Year's Eve. If a place can do that, on a night that is typically dining hell, it must be something special. Firstly, if I could give the service alone 10 Stars, I would. A night where you typically get pushed out of your table for the next group. Turnover of their tables is not their concern, but rather making sure that every minute of your time there is enjoyable. The ambiance is warm and inviting, almost like you're dining in someone's home. You can tell that MISIRIZZI takes pride in their space, and it shows by how beautiful yet simple the decor is. Perfect for date night, an intimate dinner, or a small group of friends to dine. The food. Again, if i could do 10 stars I would. We started with stuffed calamari and a charcuterie and paired cheese board, which was perfect for the 4 of us. Each of us got a pasta entree, and shared around the table because everything looked (and was) so good. The manager came over a few times and made sure that we were having a good time. Sure, change makes me nervous (I'm sure there is a good underwear joke in there somewhere) because I LOVED the old Aroma. But the changes here are all lovely. Siria and her co-owners are totally gracious. The food is still lovely and reasonably priced. The renovation is thoughtful. And the fact that most of the employees came back after the renovation speaks to their loyalty to the place and the new owners. Is this Per Se? Wow this place was amazing! I went here for a company dinner and was pleasantly surprised at the dining experience and the classy attitude of the workers. The risotto was amazing and I really enjoyed the cocktails. The only thing I'd like to see would be if they offered you olive oil and balsamic with the bread. I didn't ask for it specifically but the bread wasn't very good in my opinion. The entrees were phenomenal and were all served to our table of 7 at the same time by the wait staff. Somehow I had never noticed this restaurant before but now I can't stop thinking about the meal I had last night. The restaurant is so pretty and charming. Even though it was packed, the acoustics were great and we could have a conversation. The food was absolutely delicious. The fried artichoke appetizer (carciofi fritti) with lemon cream dipping sauce which they aptly named "magic sauce" was the most delicious I have ever had. All three of us agreed we had never had better fried artichokes. The pasta was also scrumptious. I had the Radiatori with Arugula Pesto, Candied Tomatoes, Pine Nuts, Mozzarella Cream. The pasta was perfectly al dente and the combination of flavors was exquisite. I also had a spicy mezcal paloma served in a beautiful cocktail glass which makes such a difference. For dessert we had the bread pudding and the ricotta mousse. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back. Only downside is that it's pricey, but I think they earned it. read more

The food is amazing at Misirizzi but it took a while from ordering to come out. I think it was about 40+ mins for our two pastas. We were first served the bread with olive oil. Just a regular baguette, sliced thinly. Not the freshest but it's free bread so I can't complain. Then we got our appetizer of the calamari. It was really nicely cooked and not rubbery at all. There was a nice little side of olives. Then after about a half hour, the pasta came out. The mouthfeel of the pasta is just amazing. We got the homemade strascinati (wild mushroom sofritto, spicy lamb sausage, roasted red peppers, and Moliterno Cheese). There was minimal sausage in the dish but the pasta was thick and hearty and the roasted red peppers were nice and soft. The second pasta we got was supposed to be the Black Linguine but they did not have the black linguine that night. So we replaced it with malfadine. If you're a seafood lover, this dish is worth the wait. It included poached white shrimp, squid, and lobster broth. The shrimp was nice and juicy and thick (not those little baby shrimps no one likes) and the squid was soft and not rubbery. I would go back just for this dish and hopefully try it with the black linguine! The overall ambiance was really intimate. The place is bigger than it looks as it stretches towards the back. It looks like a home since it has a cute little fireplace (wasn't working when we were there). read more

We were a party of 11 people and since the restaurant didn't have any other large parties that night, they gave us the whole space without charging us extra. The serving staff was attentive, friendly, and accommodating to our needs. The food was quite nice and they were especially accommodating to our team members that had dietary restrictions. The private room was absolutely lovely and had a lot of character. The music and the decor was fitting and fun without being intrusive to our conversation.
