Came here for birthday celebration. It's a small and cozy joint in east village. Waiters were super energetic, friendly and welcoming. We share couple dishes of appetizer: stuffed calamari, arugula salad, octopus, meatball, grilled zucchini, crispy Brussels sprout... I don't recall any dish disappointed us. For main dish, I love my mint pappardelle duck sausage dish, it's something I never had before. It's flavorful yet refreshing, and topped with a scoop of lemon ricotta adds another layer of flavor in it. My boyfriend got the lemon & shrimp risotto, a very simple but refreshing dish, shrimp was very fresh, but could be a bit of a boring dish compare to others though. Friends got there Strascinati dish said it was pretty good as well. For dessert, peach tiramisu was very good, the bread pudding gets a bit heavy. It was overall a very nice evening. This is a nice little Italian spot in NoHo and we decided to check it out for drinks and appetizers. They did have a pretty vast selection of wines and some Italian beers. We ordered some beers but were pretty disappointed with the lack of options on the menu. There were not too many vegetarian options, not a single item on the menu with mushrooms and no risotto items either. We decided to start with the bruschetta of the day - it was two pieces of bread (which was served almost cold) topped with tomatoes and some arugula. It lacked flavor, was pretty unappetizing and turned out to be a disappointment. We decided to call the check and leave. Wow, just WOW. Food, service, atmosphere, A+++ My girlfriends surprised me with a going away dinner party here and it was one I will never forget! Walking into the restaurant it seems super cute and modern. Small bar area with larger dining area in the back with high ceilings, very classy. However we did not hang at either of these spots.... There is a door opposite the bar that leads you outside and down a long stairway in-between the buildings. Take a right to re-enter underneath the building, through the kitchen area, and a sliding door opens to reveal the most romantic and rustic wine cellar you can wrap your head around! You literally feel like you are in a completely different restaurant, or even a different neighborhood in the city. I'm not sure how often this area is open to the public but if you have a chance to dine in the wine cellar, TRY TO MAKE IT HAPPEN! It is a true "New York" experience and you won't regret it. The group of 5 of us shared a bottle of red + a bottle of white and of course a fabulous cheese plate before ordering our own entrees. The waiters (and the owner!) were all incredibly warm and welcoming. They even created our own menu in celebration of my party! (See photo.) One word: Amazing! I was excited to see a new Italian place pop up near NYU on Opentable, so I made a reservation for 1 for lunch on Monday. I didn't get his name, but the bartender was a friend of the owner and was so friendly and welcoming! I ordered a negroni sbagliato and the shrimp salad as per his recommendation, and both were delicious! The negroni was perfectly refreshing for the hot day, and the salad was perfectly dressed, with a generous portion of avocado and shrimp on top. The olives were great, as was the bread. I really have nothing negative at all to say -- the space is beautiful, and I've made another reservation for this Friday and bringing all my friends! I came here last Friday night with family for dinner. We were lucky enough to snatch the wine cellar last minute which was absolutely perfect for the 13 of us! What a hidden gem! We loved how it was tucked away downstairs - you'd never guess it was down there from the outside of this charming little restaurant! We all really enjoyed our dinner, we tried close to everything on the menu being as we were a big party and everyone ordered different items. I really enjoyed the grilled zucchini parmigiana which I ate aw my dinner instead of an appetizer. The chocolate molten cake is a must try for desert, so delicious! The waiter is super friendly - we asked a bunch of questions about the dishes cause we were indecisive and he explained everything throughly. The low down: - Beautiful interior that's a bit retro, a bit bougie, and a bit quaint. Sooo instagram-able: greenery and interesting art everywhere - Fantastic staff - great with recommendations, knew the menu well, and amazingly attentive - SPRITZ and a great cocktail/wine list = happiness - They have a few constants on the menu but the homemade gnocchi and the risotto change on a weekly basis. I was dying to try the short rib gnocchi as advertised on yelp but the gnocchi they had that week was a three flavor gnocchi. - The stuffed calamari appetizer is the appetizer of my dreams. Very unique and one of the best things on this menu. Highly recommend. - Seafood black linguine was delicious - squid was tender, shrimp was fresh and tasty, the linguine was cooked to a perfect al dente, and the the lobster broth was delightful. - Definitely recommend the cappelleti romagnoli with mascarpone cheese, arugula and prosciutto cotto if you like creamy pastas - This place is pretty empty before 8PM on a Friday night but then around 8PM gets crowded very quickly. If you're looking to come here without a wait or reservation, come earlier. All in all, a warm, inviting restaurant that serves really great food and drinks. Last minute reservation and they took us in. We were greeted by a lovely young lady who I spoke on the phone. She recognized my voice and she walked us in the back room dining area. Then immediately followed by the waiter to serve us water. They place the sparkling water in a cooler and serve you when glass is low. The Chef is very personable and helpful. Something I love about east village, plenty of small, neat and unique restaurants and most of them are quite unbelievable. Back to the food... first the bread, I would say they needed to get a better bread than that. I'd give 5 star for the endive salad appetizer and 4 on the octopus salad app. The octopus is soft and do not have that crispness texture. It's just ok. The branzino is excellent however I did not like the vegetable pairing. The spaghetti is delicious. We did not order any dessert as we are almost late for our show. I will join the chorus of admirers. We arrived reservation-less, at about 2:30 on Mother's Day and snagged the only table in the charming back room. From the beginning our server was warm and proficient. I had a Sazerac, my partner a glass of moscato, and the feinschmecker an iced coffee. The cocktail was well made, the wine a generous pour, and the coffee made from fresh espresso. There were no apps on the brunch menu, so we asked for the standard one to select starters. We chose olives and the spicy shrimp. The marinated olives were served in a long thin porcelain dish - nice presentation, with great bread. The shrimp arrived over carrots and beans - savory, but the three medium shrimp seemed a scant portion. For mains, we had the malfadine with pancetta, the burger, and a special, the panino of chicken cutlet. The rich, creamy malfadine was spectacular but the portion was small - Italian size - more of a primi piatti than a main course. No such complaints about the burger and the coteletta. The former came with a sort of slaw and home fries, and was too much for the hungry feinschmecker. She liked the burger, but didn't care for the side of romesco sauce, which had a sort of hot and bitter aftertaste. That stayed behind when she took out half her burger. The airy cutlet was huge, and my partner's only complaint was the lack of accompaniments - particularly as the burger came with two sides. My companions had no room for dessert so I can't comment. I would certainly return. Overall 5 stars for service, 4+ for food, so five stars it is. read more

I wanted to comment on their exceptional service...I made a reservation on resy at 6:15pm and made a note that we are rushing to a 7pm show, and wrote down what we intended to order.
