Ramen has quickly become one of my biggest and favorite guilty pleasures over the past decade since moving to the west coast. I've tried countless ramen spots in southern California and found my favorites down there so when I moved to NorCal I knew what I was looking for. The first couple of spots I tried just didn't hit. They tasted like the instant stuff dressed up a bit (which has a time and place of course). But the first time I tried miso good? That HIT. I've eaten both takeout and on location here and no matter how I get my ramen, miso good always delivers. I need to find a few more ramen spots to test this a bit more, but at this point I'm willing to give it the distinction of being the best ramen in the area. My ONE gripe would be the selection of broths- they only have a spicy tonkotsu on the menu, but you can request little to no spice and it tastes just perfect like a tonkotsu should. So good I wish everyone got the chance to try it that way and have them add a spice-less version of the brother on the menu. There's other broth options of course, but a good tonkotsu has always been a staple. All that's to say, I can't recommend miso good ramen enough- give it a try read more

I ordered the Kimchee ramen. Picked up my order on a Friday night. Went inside to get my order, it was very busy, which is a good sign. Very nice people and very quick. Got home and opened up my ramen fixings. Very generous amount of food. Noticed right away the yummy smells! Wow! Everything was so yummy! The broth was rich and creamy, I love that in a broth. This lovely establishment was classy without being unapproachable, with a pop-punk playlist and an ambiance of fellow teenagers on dates. The ramen was stunning and well-portioned, we enjoyed the Miso Butter and Spicy Tonkatsu ramen bowls, as well as a few sushi rolls. Although the sushi rolls were on the pricier side, the fish was impeccable quality, especially considering how downplayed it is in a place that doesn't market itself as a sushi restaurant. After traveling to Japan and living in Hawaii, we have eaten literally hundreds of bowls of ramen. We are most fond of a tonkatsu style ramen with a cloudy broth and toothsome noodles. After moving from the East coast back to California, we knew that there were some great ramen spots in West County, but we heard about miso ramen and decided to give them a try. We arrived just as they were opening, and grabbed a spot on the deck in the front to limit our potential exposure. Our waitress Vivian came by and gave us menus and told us that they were only serving ramen, bowls, and hot appetizers. I ordered some Nigori sake ($15 for 300ml) to start and we took a look at the menu. I decided to order the house Tokyo ramen ($16) with a cloudy broth and tofu instead of pork, and hubby went for the butter miso ramen ($16 + $2 for egg) . I also ordered the vegetarian fried potstickers ($8) and a side of their spicy soy vinegar. As we waited for our order, I remarked at the beautiful redwoods just outside the restaurant, which were a nice touch to the atmosphere. that said, as we ate, there were multiple people who drove by with very loud music, smoking, and people who were not wearing masks that made me think I might have chosen a less than optimal location to eat. The first thing that arrived was the sake, which is really hard to mess up so it was decent. The gyoza came next, extremely hot and perfectly crisp, filled with edamame and other yumminess and was probably the best thing we ate the entire meal. The sauce that came with the pot stickers was like a yum yum sauce which is basically a slightly spicy mayo and was pretty good. My ramen did not have the broth that I requested and came with the standard broth. I still gave it a good try but it was really not anything special. I'm used to having the lightly poached eggs in ramen be marinated in some type of soy but these were just plain which was a little bit of a disappointment. I was also curious about the fact that the ramen was topped with raw purple onions and spinach??? I've never had these toppings on any ramen anywhere. Hubby's ramen was no better, also topped with raw onions ( not green onions which are traditional), as well as raw spinach and carrots??? He is a huge ramen fan and I think I saw him eat maybe a third if that of his ramen before he put it aside and said no more. The sauce that I requested on the side was supposed to be a spicy soy vinegar but it was really just spicy soy sauce which was also a disappointment. Overall, I'm not sure if we hit them on a bad day, or if they're still trying to pop back up after being closed for covid, but we expected a lot more from a place that's supposed to be known for their ramen. If this meal represented the quality of their usual food, we definitely would not return here given how good Ramen Gaijin is in Sebastopol and we would probably just go there in the future. read more

Tonkotsu ramen and garlic shrimp is my fave here. I wish they hadn't downgraded their hot tea set up, especially considering they're getting rapidly pricier.. I imagine it's expensive to be a downtown restaurant. But for tea folks reading this, hot tea is now served as a basic white cup with a teabag. No dish for the bag when it's finished steeping. It used to be in a beautiful stoneware mug and the server would pour you from a lovely teapot. I wish they can go back to this :'( read more

The softest most flavorful chasu I've ever had!! Hands down Santa Rosa should be proud of this place! Kevin surprised me a weekend in Santa Rosa and we just grabbed a quick bite and found this little gem around the corner of our hotel. I have never written a Yelp review before, but I had a really positive experience with this place a few days ago! I ordered through Doordash, because I saw they had gluten-free options available (the chicken cilantro ramen is gluten free + has rice noodles). I have Celiac disease and am always a little bit nervous about trying new places. I ordered the Spicy Paitan ramen, which was not listed as gluten free by default but let me select it as an option and also select rice noodles. I put in the notes for them to please let me know if the broth/toppings weren't gluten free and that I'd change my order if so. I also got an Alaska roll, which was listed as gluten free. After placed my order, I got a call from a very nice restaurant employee who wanted to check in and make sure I knew that the potstickers (which I had added to my order for a non-GF sibling) had gluten, and to confirm that I knew that it was all prepared in the same kitchen/to see how severe my allergy was, basically. When the food arrived, it was packaged well and labeled, the Alaska roll came with a side of gluten free soy sauce. The pork belly that comes with the ramen is really as good as everyone says in the other reviews, I thought the broth was great and the spice level was nice but not overpowering. My sibling, who is notoriously particular about potstickers, really liked these, and also the sauce. I know accommodating allergies is not always the easiest, but I was really really grateful for how thoughtful they were. Most places aren't. Overall - Everything was delicious, and I didn't get sick! This is a cute little laid-back spot to stop for some delicious ramen in downtown Santa Rosa. I've never had any issues with the service. They are fast and attentive. They also have beer, wine, and sake options available. I've tried the Spicy Paitan, Spicy Tonkotsu, and BBQ Beef Bulgogi Bowl. Their broth is very rich, creamy, and flavorful. The veggies and pork belly are deliciously tender and the eggs are always perfectly cooked. I crave their ramen often, and it's just as good when it's door-dashed. Although the beef and kimchee in the BBQ beef bulgogi bowl were tasty, just putting straight kewpie mayo on top of everything was a bit odd for me and is not typically how I eat KBBQ. Next time I'll ask for it without. I do appreciate that they have both Japanese and Korean options to choose from. The broth of the ramen is rich and the portion is big. But 22$ for a bowl of ramen is kind of pricey. Especially they need charge for chili paste. I ordered tonkostu ramen, the waitress asked if medium spicy ok. I said ok. Then when the ramen is served I didn't taste any spicy so I asked for some chili sauce and she said it would be 1.5$. I am shocked. Never got charged for a chili paste before. I liked the ramen but with this experience that make me doesn't want to go back. My husband had the chicken shoyu ramen. Located in downtown Santa Rosa within a very busy area. There is parking behind the restaurant or if you're lucky some metered street parking. The Ramen soup and noodles were perfect. The Ramen is flavorful and rich. The noodles were perfectly cooked. Also had the salmon and avocado roll which had a very fresh salmon in it. We ordered the spicy chicken appetizer which was flavorful and piping hot, just the way we like it! The cucumber seaweed salad topped with crab meat was refreshing. Keep in mind it's a small portion. Luckily this Ramen shop opens late into the evening for those night owls. There is plenty of indoor seating with a few tables and chairs for those who prefer to remain outdoors. read more
