    Mission Brewing's Blonde Ale!
    Alden C.

So good to have finally tried Mission Brewery and can remove it off of my "to try" list. For this brewery Steve and I had their Blonde , named Mission Blonde. This wasn't a bad blonde but it wasn't exactly the best one I have come across either. It kind of had an odd aftertaste which I am not sure if it was purposeful for the recipe but it wasn't bad regardless. Flavor features to look for with this are clean, sweet and dry. The beer is very smooth in body and is light. And as the summer heat is here it's a decent beer to have while enjoying the sun.

I can't believe this was my first time here! Located in East Village, Mission Brewery is housed in a historic building that used to be a Wonder Bread factory. The original brick along with high ceilings, and exposed beams, add to overall the experience. The beertender, Irving, was friendly and super helpful! He let me try their seltzer and hop water which I had never had before. I ended up going with their tasty blonde which was the perfect combination of lightness and refreshingness. They had live music upstairs and I got to meet some great people. I'll definitely be back soon!

We were visiting San Diego and could not be happier we stumbled upon this Brewery! From the outside it doesn't seem like much, but inside it's clean and welcoming. The beers we tried were all good! I loved the foggy shores! It's crazy because it smells like Banana. My friends really liked the lavender lemonade hard seltzer, and the pineapple under the sea IPA. Most importantly, I can't say enough about the AMAZING about Jorge and Irving and the service we received!!! They were absolutely amazing!!! Because of them this will definitely be a spot I recommend to everyone in San Diego.

Pretty cool brewery within walking distance of Petco Park, I had a 4 beer flight that was only $8 (super rare price for a flight now a day) ended up leaving with a 6-pack of their Shipwrecked dipa thanks to their pint and 6 pack deal. They've got good prices and solid beers. Their to go beers came in handy since we had to settle for the expensive $50 tailgate parking lot across the street before the Padres game. They don't have food here so if you're going to be in the area for an extended amount of town make sure to grab something to eat before or after you visit. 14th street is a little sketchy with a few homeless camps near the area but during the daytime it wasn't too bad so this brewery is totally worth checking out.

We attended a comedy show here the other night and had an enjoyable time. We arrived early, ordered a couple beers at the bar and sort of congregated by the stairs until someone came and checked for tickets about 15 minutes before the opening act. There isn't a bar in the loft upstairs but you can bring your beers up there. Though the evening was fairly cool, it was still stuffy upstairs. I would think during the hotter months it's unbearable. The beers were good though. I tried a Paloma hard seltzer and also the Pacific Passage Japanese-style lager. The lager was pleasant and light; perfect if you don't want that bloated feeling after a couple pints. I appreciate that they preserved the old factory vibe of the historic building and it seemed to be a well-liked spot in the neighborhood.

It's been awhile since we've been at Mission Brewery but after a fun Comic Con event here we were pulled back for their Pineapple IIPA. I really like the broad selection at Mission, and the addition of pinball and video games, as well as a ping pong table, makes it a cool environment. They have added several industrial fans which keeps the air flow and temperature really pleasant. No fault of Mission, but the streets of downtown have become increasingly filthy and the drawback of having to hopscotch over trash, urine and other crap is an unfortunate deterrent to heading here.

I visited the location in downtown on July 4th weekend. It was super chill, not crowded at all Saturday in the late afternoon. We tried the blonde ale and the Cocomos. I love the name reminds me of house music :). My favorite WAS the Cocomos. It is sour and has a coconut after taste, it sounds weird but it was refreshing and addictive. Service was great, very helpful staff. Although not very busy you can see staff is happy to be there at such a cool spot. Restroom is through a long pathway, left, right, left, right for womens hehe. The place itself is huge in an industrial setting. They have "mission" emblems throughout the brewery, very nice ambiance and decor. They have 2 huge round tables you can sit at in the first floor, they are lifted and lit by the ceiling window above. They also have an upstairs area and a game room to the left when you enter. They offer merchandise too. They have another location by the airport too which looks huge and could be the first location. I really liked this one in downtown due to the location. We will be back soon! Thanks again!

Swung by here this past weekend for a drink. My friends and I enjoyed the seltzers; We even got a four pack to go Very clean brewery and friendly staff! They had a pop up vendor in their back patio (@lucymaeskitchen) who had amazing food! It was their first time there so you have to follow their social media for future pop ups. Thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered: Maryland crabcakes, Tameka wings and mac and cheese. Definitely would come back in future to hangout and drink

The outside of this place may not look like a good example of "Americas greatest city" but once one walks through the doors the decor is nothing less than exquisite! One can enjoy the brilliance of the stars as you sip your alcoholic beverage or simply capture a memorable picture with friends. Irving takes care of you and Adam keeps you entertained, go grab a cold one today!

Make sure you guys get my homie Jorge! This dude doesn't let your glass get empty and had world class customer service!

There are so many movies that come to mind that when you think of breweries the Canadian Movie strange brew that was a hockey movie and yes it was one of the funniest movies there was out in the cinemas and yes beer has been one of the most widely used drinks during the many events from Baseball to Hockey to Football. When I was taking a walk down the East Village area there are so many buildings that have great history to them, and the many areas of East Village has had the years of the war that had many changes over the years that you can still find many buildings standing today. There was one building that I have seen many times that when I would come to the library to do research and get reviews posted online. Many of the buildings that you may find have been old drug stores and one have been storage buildings there was one that was the old Wonder Bread factory that was located in the East Village area of San Diego. Taking a closer look at the building there was a large silo container that was on top that gave the gave the indication there was storage containers inside and there would tanker trucks that were loading up. When I had gotten closer there was more of a restaurant look to it and to see the Wonder Bread name that was still up after the many years and the age of the building still in great condition. The sign at the front of the building that had got my eye that it was a brewery it had the look and the feel of a brewery that would be from the 60s and the 70s that didn't have the conveyors and the bottling machines. I decided to walk to a look inside and have a good beer in the afternoon there was a small crowd that was enjoying the ball game just looking about see the many areas large seating areas that were the bottom of the silos and looking up see the top floor and the large opening at the top. I took a look at the many beers this told me they made the beer fresh and the grades of what they have told me they have a good line up and the lineup looks pretty good. I had ordered a cold IPA that had a good hard but smooth flavor that had the taste of orange to it and the aroma gave a good clear scent of it. The location in the midst of East Village and the location shows that was a building that was of the early earl 1900s and the walls of the building showed the long bolts that were used to help keep the walls steady during an earthquake. I was able to see there back area that had many of the large containers that were making beer and the aging process that was going on with the products that takes a while for beer. The many things that the Mission Brewery has the History it has the great feel of when beer was made and the many years that the Wonder bread company that was there. To be able to see what the inside of brewery is and the many functions of the many stations it gives you the many steps that beer takes to make. As my recommendation that the Mission Brewery is one brewery that shows great history in the product, they make and the many ingredients they use to make the best beer.

How did the Australian Shepard taste?

Hi Colin, I am not sure what you are referring to as we have no beer named Australian Shepard.... ?

Is there a food truck every night and what time usually?

Not every night. Usually Weekends and the hours vary. If you follow their IG or FB they are pretty good about posting when they have one there.

Gravity Heights saved the day with available seating for Father's Day dinner!…read more We arrived around 5:30 PM and had the option of happy hour or regular seating. We chose happy hour since they have such a great HH menu! Everything looked good on the regular menu as well, but we went with the HH food and kids' meals. We enjoyed two orders of the cauliflower, the cheese pizza, and the smash burger with fries--all of them were so well done! Our kids wanted the mac and cheese with fruit (which came with fresh blueberries and blackberries), and my one year old had that plus a side of snap peas and carrots. Both kids loved their food and even had enough left over for dinner the following day. We also tried the "Kiwi Be Friends" drink, which was delicious! Service was fantastic. Amelia was upbeat, attentive, and even checked in with us before happy hour ended to see if we wanted to order anything else. I was so grateful for the friendly reminder! I completely see why it's called a beer garden--it is beautiful. I loved the decor, the greenery, and the covered patio with turf, picnic tables, fans, and both table and ceiling heaters. The furniture and the bar... I loved it all! The designer really took their time and did a wonderful job planning it out. As a quick heads-up on the layout, the bathrooms are gender-neutral. It's an open room with about six private stalls and shared sinks, featuring red/green indicators near the doorknobs to tell you if a stall is occupied or vacant. I am for sure coming back for the regular menu soon!

A nice tropical drink thats not over the top tropical. Brew-nana Buzz- Very delicious, what mostly caught my eye was Liquor 43 which i love and was the perfect mixture with espresso. The banana liquor was subtle but a nice addition. My coworker initially couldn't taste the banana, but i clearly tasted it. We got a few pizzas which were great, thin neapolitan style pizza but not soggy in the middle. Im not usually a fan of real Neapolitan style pizza cause they are ususally wet and soggy in the middle these were perfect! I like the Diablo pizza the best because it was quite spicy. The potato pierogi were nicely grilled on the flat top and had a nice crisp exterior texture and placed on a bed of dill sour cream. Very delicious! We also got it with the side of spicy kielbasa, it was also nicely charred and spicy a great addition to the pierogi. The mezze plate was also a big hit. Freshly baked pita, smooth and creamy hummus with some toppings and crispy falafel. The pita bread and hummus were really good, the hummus was also topped with lentels and tasty eggplant puree. Highly recommend this dish! The dirty fries came with freshly fried homemade fries, and topped with pulled pork. I thought this dish was just OK. i guess i prefer a drier meat not the wet BBQ pulled pork. But thats just me. Tuna Tosdada was also pretty good, crispy tortilla with seared albacore and avacado, the peanut salsa matcha added a lot to it. People loved the chicken tikka masala pot pie. The crust was nice and flakey. My coworkers loved it. It was too strong a flavor for me. When I usually eat it, there's a lot of buffer with the rice, with just the crust it was too strong for me. We got a few desserts, they were both excellent! The butterscotch budino was very smooth, the butterscotch pudding was tasty and the salted caramel took it over the top. I liked it mostly because of the caramel topping. Reminded me of frozen butter beer from Harry Potter at Universal studios. The cast iron cookie was most similar to the pazooki, a cookie cooked in a cast iron pan topped with vanilla gelato cookie crumbles and chocolate sauce. There's overflow parking in the lot but I just usually park on Camino De La Reina. They no longer add the 20% tip to larger parties, service was excellent and friendly.

Such a warm and inviting atmosphere both inside and outside. And in talking to the staff, you discover that they are happy to be working there as they are well treated.
