I've been going to this salon for years and my stylist is Shawn! Super sweet and VERY talented! Every time I get my hair done I'm getting compliments and asked where I get my hair done. Before I started coming here I always struggled with growing out my hair and now between careful coloring and doing keratin treatments my hair looks so healthy and long! I've got that milky blonde that not many stylist can pull off and she nails it every time! Shawn is the BEST!!! This review is for Shawn Douglas who deserves zero stars at this point in time. I received a few consults from other hair salons who couldn't believe the damage inflicted upon my hair and there's only been one person working on my tresses in the last 3 years and that's Shawn here at Mitchell Anthony. Shawn was once an amazing stylist who has now gone into another galaxy of terrible. For so many reasons. I'll get into it now. I didn't want to leave one star and bring the entire salon down to Shawn's rating. Finally breaking down and writing this after talking with another former client of Shawn's who agrees with me on all of this. I get stylists make mistakes but it's all about owning up and taking responsibility, something Shawn is seemingly unable to do. At first, she was amazing and consistent. Always on time, great availability, spot on with color, awesome to talk to, good vibes, great prices. This was 2016. However, I'm not sure what has happened to her since 2018. I will forever regret the last time I got a full head of highlights done by her in July of 2018. It pains me to write this and it also pains me that my hair girl is no longer available-- the Shawn I once knew is absolutely gone. I went in for a full after my hair was arguably cured from a mess up at Ulta from 2014 that Shawn helped fix. I have very fine, thin hair that can't handle too much heat or processing. She knew this, as I was not a new client. She went ahead and left me under the heat and walked off for a very long time. She legit must have forgotten about me, because never in my life has a stylist kept me under the heat that long. This isn't my first rodeo with coloring my hair. I sensed panic from her when she came back and her entire vibe changed. She finished it up and not only was it warm/hella brassy when I asked for ashy cool tones AKA not at all the color i asked for, and literally the texture of straw. Split ends were also quite evident. This is the weird part. The way Shawn handled her failure was manipulative and set me back literally right where I started with my journey to repair the original damage. After her own mess up, she changed her attitude towards me, a devoted client, and became incredibly rude as well as unhelpful. Then, after 3 days, an entire section of hair snapped off. Not kidding. A giant chunk of my hair fell off along with my confidence. Shawn, like always, searched for blame elsewhere. It couldn't POSSIBLY be her, because humans NEVER make error, ESPECIALLY someone as amazing as her! Spare me. She had me so manipulated that it wasn't her who did the damage that I literally blamed the water pipes in my Irvine apartment complex and we bought filtered shower heads because i kept defending her. I was so delusional and blinded by her because I cared about her. Looking back, wtf? I don't know why I was so defensive of this person who didn't give a crap about my service. I don't know why I cared so much, it's not like we were friends or anything. She was just my hair stylist. I suppose we get sorta attached to our stylists, but to literally go so far as to not listen to my own family and change my entire apartment's water filtration system because my stylist won't own up is absolutely nuts and I'll take the blame there. Own up to your mistakes, Shawn. I wish she or the salon would have offered me a refund instead of convincing me she did nothing wrong and making me suffer through literal disgusting hair and shot confidence. My new stylist has taken a look and said that it's 100% over processed and it is destroyed from the work Shawn did, and she can tell it was from one bad time. I would not be writing this review had Shawn been kind to me after this mistake, apologized, owned up, fixed it on the house with an extension piece, anything. I'd still have been a client and giving her & this salon my money. I'll attach photos so the salon and others can see the clear over processing that was done. I'd post rude text messages, but i don't feel like getting sued. Shawn, learn how to be more loyal and caring with people. It'll take you a long way in your career. Own up when you do something wrong. read more

Called over a week ago to make an appt. with Pam. I left a message and no one ever returned my call. I stopped in today. Two women that were working there looked at me and never said a word. I waited till they finished up with their clients. They still continued to ignore me. The salon advertises in the OC coupons all the time. How can you claim to have a business when you don't acknowledge customers. Needless to say I'll be looking for another place to get my haircut. read more

i go to gloria for my brazilian straight (her prices are much cheaper than other places and she uses better products). She does a great job! my mom and sister have been there as well and they've always been happy with the finished product. She also cuts and colors hair really well! She also uses really great quality products. She has ammonia free hair dye as well as dye that's pregnancy friendly! :) all around great service and nice salon read more

WOW - Heather did an amazing job on my hair!!! Heather has that unique gift of incredible talent, plus the fact that she really cares and listens to what her client's want - a rare combination to find in a hair stylist!! I was really in need of a cut and color and even though I had known Heather for a little while and saw what a great job she did on other people's hair, I was still very very nervous to have someone new cut/color my hair. There have been a few occasions where I did decide I would let someone new do my hair, and each and every time I was very disappointed and not happy at all with the results!!! i vowed never to let anyone else ever do my hair again!! Well, timing is everything, and I'm so grateful that Heather insisted on me giving her a try. She had all the confidence knowing that she could fix my hair and make it look fabulous and I'm so glad I listened!!! It's tough when you've been burned before by other stylists and they all tell you that they can do a great job and none even came close!!! I'm sure most of you who read this are not as paranoid as I was, and so I highly suggest you give Heather a call and book an appointment with her ASAP - you're hair will look so fabulous, that you'll want to take her home with you to have her do your hair each and every day!! Renee came through for me. I did not expect a call from her, but I went back today and discussed the issue. She did a fantastic job and told me to come back for toner if I feel my highlights need some. I waited 6 hours this time to make sure everything looks good and I am happy. Went to this salon for the first time today and LOVED IT! My stylist was Heather and she is awesome! I came in with a very complicated color situation but she got my hair exactly the color I wanted and really took the time to listen and understand the color I was going for. All of her care and work definitely shows! She also gave me a great hair cut and made my hair look so much healthier! She shared so many great tips for styling and keeping my hair healthy. It was very nice to have such personalized attention and service for my exact hair situation. The salon is super clean and inviting, and the stylists are very dedicated to their work and really care about their clients. Prices are very reasonable and they provide complimentary coffee & cookies :) I will definitely be coming back! I wandered into the salon a few weeks ago after I had just eaten next door, the week before my stylist in Santa Ana over-toned my aspiring blonde hair to red and damaged the crap out of it. Pam was able to fix it and further prevent it from becoming more damaged. She suggested we do two sessions of coloring to protect my hair and didn't even charge me for the second! What a hair angel! I saw Pam today and I'm super happy to find such an easy going stylist who understood what I wanted without long descriptions . I've been looking for a hairdresser and salon that was down to earth and less stuffy and pricey. I also wanted an experienced hairdresser since I had another salon do terrible job few months ago. She not only Corrected my brown I did out of a box over bleached hair, but added the correct shade of cool blonde highlights I wanted with cool tone low lights. My hair is beautiful! ! I called to inquire about getting my hair blow-dried the lady that answered made me feel like I was asking way to many questions and I was just making her work to much.
