    Yummy cookies
    Lori H.

I had new neighbors move in next door. So I wanted to give them a welcome gift. What's better than food? Cookies!! I decided to go to Mix as I have had one of their pies before. When I got there a lady at the counter said hello a gave me a few minutes to look around. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Small but cute place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got some cookies and I also got my husband a single serve apple crumble pie because that is his favorite. I myself don't like apple pie so I will always buy one before I make him one. My husband told me that was the best apple pie he has eaten. I had to have a bite and it is the best apple pie I have had! From now on I will always get my pies from mix and I will, from now on, eat apple pie from mix!!

Ran into them at a human society event they were supporting, great sweets! Cookies were great and staff was nice and engaging, thank you for supporting the human society

11/2/2024- A fun day exploring different areas and happy to stop in. *** check in with Yelp and you get a free cupcake.. Case filled with pies-cupcakes- and cookies- Went with oatmeal cookies and a salted caramel cupcake. Caramel apple cookie was pretty good- great spices with the salty caramel flavor.

The treats here are delicious. I like checking in and getting a free cupcake..lol. We tried the peach pie. And I picked out one of their cupcakes. I chose the s'more cupcake. It was a chocolate cup cake with marshmallow frosting and a piece of chocolate candy on top with Graham cracker crumbs. The peach pie crust is flaky, but it's a little salty. The cupcake was good, but the cake part was kind of dry. I'm not sure if it wasn't fresh or maybe not enough eggs or oil in the mix. I like to bake, and the cakes I make are never dry. The workers are friendly, and they honored my free cupcake coupon.

    Coconut cupcakes are my favorite

This continues to be our favorite bakery in Reno. I just had to get more of those lemon cookies and a coconut cupcake. We also tried some other cookie flavors, and they were all delicious. We still need to order a pie from here, but we'll save that for our next visit.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I found the decor of this Bakeshop charming and inviting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had only a few minutes to spare but was interested to see what they offered. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A large front section with seating, a small gift section as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I chose a small lemon based tart, was surprised that the charge was $6. It was very very small but the major disappointment was the filling was very minimal. Crust nice and short but not a $6 wow. I looked at the showcase again and saw that their larger pies sell for $25, once again, not a very large pie and all looked to have minimal filling. I will update this review if and when I go back and have a better experience.

I stopped in for cupcakes and pies, but was tempted by the ice cream, cookies and the other variety of sweets and treats. There are so many great homemade treats in this shop. The variety of pies and cupcakes changes with the seasons to keep you coming back for local-made, fresh-baked goods. Cupcakes were moist and loaded with flavor. Cupcakes: Strawberry, Triple Chocolate - 4 stars Cupcakes: Carrot, Funfetti - 3.5 stars Pies: Lemon Chess & ?? - 5 stars (Don't bother with the 4", you won't regret getting the 9")

My husband didn't get a pic fast enough... too good to wait!
    Mary G.

We stopped in one Friday, right before they closed. Very unique cupcake flavors, and we couldn't get out without trying a couple. I was too ready for something sweet after a long day of training, so unfortunately took a bite before we could catch a picture. Whoops! Haha! Cupcakes are chilled, which I wasn't expecting. Not a bad thing, but I'll probably wait 5 minutes next time. The service was quick and kind. :-) I loved the lemon, strawberry, and funfetti. Next time I'm back, I'll try a chocolate with vanilla frosting. (My husband had the butter beer and said it was good also. That's just not my style.)

The Minced Pork Dumplings, however, were not for us. I believe the flavor of the Chinese leek may have been what turned us off. As for the Napoleon, it wasn't very sweet or particularly flavorful, and it made quite a mess to eat. Not something I'd reorder. The Sui Mai was delicious, and I would definitely order it again. This was the winner of our take home feast. While not everything was a hit for us, we'd return for the Sui Mai and BBQ Pork Buns and other explore some other items that we have yet to try.

YELP REVIEW PROMPT…read more Checked on Yelp for a dessert spot that I haven't tried before. Sierra Nevada Creamery and Bakery was a quick four minute walk from our lunch spot so we thought why not! It's located right next to the Pioneer Center for Performing Arts and has a very small parking area. There are restaurants on either side so there is also street parking. It was a warm day so I decided on a double scoop in a cup, one pistachio and one sea salt caramel. The double scoop was huge, definitely no skimping and only $10. There was one person ahead of us and then tons of people piled in after we did so we got there at a really good time! There was only employee working (I think he may have been the owner). I felt so bad because it was just him and he had a line almost out the door but if he was stressed he did not show it. He was friendly and so professional. The inside is pretty small but there some places to sit and if the inside is full the grass area right outside isn't a bad place to enjoy your treats. I would recommend for sure and I definitely want to go back and try a chocolate chip cookie. Things to note: Read his story on the ice cream menu. I enjoyed it and that is what makes me want to return to try the chocolate chip cookie.

I was surprised to see this place as I've driven by this strip of businesses many times and never noticed this particular spot. They offer homemade treats, but mostly ice cream. They have an almost unmatched selection of non-dairy ice creams and sorbets. A nice surprise. The gentleman helping us was very nice and gave us a full rundown of how they make everything in house. He offered samples and suggestions. I sampled the flavor of the week, Lavender Honey Matcha, and the coconut cream coffee. My kids decided on the mango sorbet and the classic strawberry. Everything was delicious. The coconut cream ice cream had great flavor and texture given that it was non dairy. My wife and I decided on the matcha flavor of the week. It was very refreshing. The strawberry had real chunks of strawberry which is always a treat. My biggest critique is the texture of the ice cream. This stuff seemed very crumbly. I prefer a much more "chewy" or "sticky" ice cream if that makes sense. This stuff was more "dry" and less "creamy". There are some other local shops in the area that make great ice cream exactly how I like it, which is the only reason for 4 stars. I'm not sure this would be my top place for ice cream again. The smallest "one scoop" size is actually nearly two full scoops. Could be a good thing for some, but a kids scoop is always appreciated for my toddlers, especially a a slightly discounted price. That is not an option here. There are a few small tables inside to enjoy your treats and lots of to-go options which is always nice. The place was clean and well decorated. It was steadily busy while we visited, indicating that this place is likely here to stay. Overall, worth stopping in if you're in the area. The flavors are unique and tasty and the non-dairy selection is fantastic.
