    Yummy cookies
    Lori H.

I had new neighbors move in next door. So I wanted to give them a welcome gift. What's better than food? Cookies!! I decided to go to Mix as I have had one of their pies before. When I got there a lady at the counter said hello a gave me a few minutes to look around. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Small but cute place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got some cookies and I also got my husband a single serve apple crumble pie because that is his favorite. I myself don't like apple pie so I will always buy one before I make him one. My husband told me that was the best apple pie he has eaten. I had to have a bite and it is the best apple pie I have had! From now on I will always get my pies from mix and I will, from now on, eat apple pie from mix!!

Ran into them at a human society event they were supporting, great sweets! Cookies were great and staff was nice and engaging, thank you for supporting the human society

11/2/2024- A fun day exploring different areas and happy to stop in. *** check in with Yelp and you get a free cupcake.. Case filled with pies-cupcakes- and cookies- Went with oatmeal cookies and a salted caramel cupcake. Caramel apple cookie was pretty good- great spices with the salty caramel flavor.

The treats here are delicious. I like checking in and getting a free cupcake..lol. We tried the peach pie. And I picked out one of their cupcakes. I chose the s'more cupcake. It was a chocolate cup cake with marshmallow frosting and a piece of chocolate candy on top with Graham cracker crumbs. The peach pie crust is flaky, but it's a little salty. The cupcake was good, but the cake part was kind of dry. I'm not sure if it wasn't fresh or maybe not enough eggs or oil in the mix. I like to bake, and the cakes I make are never dry. The workers are friendly, and they honored my free cupcake coupon.

    Coconut cupcakes are my favorite

This continues to be our favorite bakery in Reno. I just had to get more of those lemon cookies and a coconut cupcake. We also tried some other cookie flavors, and they were all delicious. We still need to order a pie from here, but we'll save that for our next visit.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I found the decor of this Bakeshop charming and inviting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had only a few minutes to spare but was interested to see what they offered. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A large front section with seating, a small gift section as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I chose a small lemon based tart, was surprised that the charge was $6. It was very very small but the major disappointment was the filling was very minimal. Crust nice and short but not a $6 wow. I looked at the showcase again and saw that their larger pies sell for $25, once again, not a very large pie and all looked to have minimal filling. I will update this review if and when I go back and have a better experience.

I stopped in for cupcakes and pies, but was tempted by the ice cream, cookies and the other variety of sweets and treats. There are so many great homemade treats in this shop. The variety of pies and cupcakes changes with the seasons to keep you coming back for local-made, fresh-baked goods. Cupcakes were moist and loaded with flavor. Cupcakes: Strawberry, Triple Chocolate - 4 stars Cupcakes: Carrot, Funfetti - 3.5 stars Pies: Lemon Chess & ?? - 5 stars (Don't bother with the 4", you won't regret getting the 9")

My husband didn't get a pic fast enough... too good to wait!

We stopped in one Friday, right before they closed. Very unique cupcake flavors, and we couldn't get out without trying a couple. I was too ready for something sweet after a long day of training, so unfortunately took a bite before we could catch a picture. Whoops! Haha! Cupcakes are chilled, which I wasn't expecting. Not a bad thing, but I'll probably wait 5 minutes next time. The service was quick and kind. :-) I loved the lemon, strawberry, and funfetti. Next time I'm back, I'll try a chocolate with vanilla frosting. (My husband had the butter beer and said it was good also. That's just not my style.)

Your cupcakes and pies at Yelps Event for Ronald McDonald house were the best ever! Because pie is my favorite can I buy a slice? If I bought the whole pie I would eat it all on the way home..... xo

They don't sell pies by the slice but they do sell mini pies called cutie pies for $5 each!

We ordered the Dust Storm: a vanilla milkshake with chocolate bits, topped with a giant blondie skewered dramatically on top, plus whipped cream, sprinkles, and chocolate drizzle. The rim of the jar was coated in marshmallow dip and graham cracker crumbs because apparently subtlety has left the chat. Honestly, the presentation was on point and exactly the kind of milkshake kids dream about. Which is why we ordered it. My tween declared it "the best milkshake I've ever seen in my life," and honestly, that alone made it worth the stop on our mother-daughter trip. Taste-wise, it leaned very sweet for me and didn't have a ton of flavor depth beyond sugar overload. But clearly the goal here is maximal fun and aesthetic, and they absolutely nailed that. It's basically a photo op you can drink. The shop itself was surprisingly quiet when we visited in the evening--we had the whole place to ourselves--but there were games to play while waiting for our order (we pulled out Pick Up Sticks, which transported me straight back to my 90s childhood living room). The ladies at the counter were also incredibly kind and patient explaining the menu and flavors to us. If you're looking for an over-the-top dessert experience your kids will talk about for days, this is your place.

In my opinion, it wasn't enough. There was a steady flow of people, and she couldn't keep up with orders and customer service. We opted for two small scoops of ice cream for the kids: chocolate and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. We also ordered the sizzling blonde brownie sundae. It was about $20 for three items. The ice cream was very good, especially the Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Very unique flavor and great texture. The blondie was a bit of a letdown. First, the blondie was not "sizzling". It wasn't even really warm. Only placed in a waffle iron for a few seconds. Second, it seemed very dry and crumbly, maybe even overbaked. I thought the ideas at Black Rock are fun, and I think trying one of their milkshakes should be my next visit. However, there are a lot of great ice cream spots in Reno. For just ice cream, I think there is some heavy competition.

I hadn't read the reviews before ordering, as I was frantic in trying to find a bakery that could do a small custom cake less than 24 hours before my Mother-in-Law's birthday. I was desperate and willing to take anything, and Leigh Anne was very sweet and patient with me on the phone. We settled on the Carrot L-Orange cake (heavenly). I forget the exact size, but I remember she said it would feed ~6 people which was perfect, and truly it could have fed up to 12+ people as that's how many servings we got out of it. That cake was tall, flavor-packed, and very rich. The complimentary carrot, nutmeg, and orange flavors had a warm spice that had me questioning why it had been over a decade since I last had carrot cake! It is criminally underrated in my peer group, or at least it was until we had this one. You know you've got a great recipe when even the folks who 'don't want any cake/don't like sweets' start eyeing it to make sure there's some left for them to try, and especially when they ask if they can take a to-go slice back home because they know someone who just HAS to try it. Thank you again for the beautiful, scrumptious, Delicious Design!

I was hoping for a larger variety of flavors and more items available, but the display felt a little limited during my visit. I would have loved to try more of what they have to offer. Nothing Bundt cakes has appeared at EVERY celebration of ours, between birthdays and anniversaries. so on APRIL 16th we placed an order for UNR's graduation to celebrate the first college graduate in our family. Our pick up time was for 11:15. My daughter went to pick up our order at 12:04 after the graduation ran long, and we wanted to give some additional time to prepare our order as we knew it would be a busy day. By 12:27 she was still texting me that she was IN LINE, for a pickup order we placed a month prior. They should have created a second pick up line for already placed orders, especially since UNR graduation has been set for this date for a year and knew it would be busy. But no, they chose disorganization and didn't value any of their customers and had them waiting for ridiculous amounts of time (over 30 minutes?!?!) . My daughter missed most of her son's graduation lunch because of this wait, breaking her heart as she just wanted to bring his favorite dessert and missed almost the whole lunch because of NOTHING BUNDT CAKES. The employee told the person in front of my daughter that they were out of frosting, and that if they didn't have a flavor they would look to see if "they could steal one from an ahead order" UM. IM SORRY. SO PEOPLE PLACED ORDERS WEEKS AHEAD AND THEN DAY OF THEY WERE LOOKING TO COMPLETE NEW ORDERS WITH ORDERS PEOPLE HAD PLACED BUT HADNT PICKED UP YET?!?!?!? Picking up our placed order took over 40 minutes, while my elderly father was stuck waiting in the car for that entire time. To make up for this? They offered my daughter a free bundlet, only available to be redeemed from that one cursed location (we don't live in state and certainly will NEVER be back to this location even if we were in state again) absolutely ridiculous. This was so stressful that my daughter's Oura ring warned her she was in a high stress environment (to pick up a pre ordered cake! Imagine that!) Nothing Bundt cakes ruined our day and our celebration. I really hope that next year they just close for graduation since they clearly cannot handle it and they should not have people relying on them when they are incompetent in completing orders placed a month ahead. This was beyond disappointing, and I hope that someone from management reaches out to correct this. In the future we will no longer be ordering nothing Bundt cakes, despite our big family ordering them almost monthly for birthdays. IF ANYONE IS ORDERING FOR NEXT YEARS GRADUATION- DONT!!!!!!! Try another place!!!!! Not worth the stress.
