Do NOT order from this restaurant if you are having food delivered on the weekend. Their automated voice system is set up in such a way that you are unable to correct an ordered that is not right. You'll be left hungry and frustrated trying to get your food for an incomplete order. In addition their email response the following day failed to address that my food never arrived, just a casual "we're sorry but you will need to contact the delivery service". I gave them 1 star because i felt generous. But seriously their manager must have an issue with me. First we bought their salad quite often and found at least two items missing. How did they resolve the problem: by having their employees check with to make sure all the ingredients were in there. That felt so uncomfortable. Next he must have been mad at me from the last review that he blocked me from checking in on Yelp so I couldn't get the free lemonade. What a dirty move. Completely incompetent. My fiancé and I ordered the same salad. His cane with chicken. Mine did not. Had this happened 1x or 2x I'd let it slide. This is the third time they just forgot my chicken. Also if you order pick up and they messed up your meal (like mine 3x) you can't even get a hold of them to tell them the issue and get a refund. They don't have a human on the phone you can talk to. And they clearly don't look at or respond to yelp reviews. Your only choice is to match yourself back in and request they fix it. Super inconvenient. Super lame. I'll never go back. I'm obsessed with Mixt. Their salads are delicious, huge, and super filling. I usually end up sharing or saving half the salad for the next day because it's so much. I also like how they have seasonal salads every quarter. My usual go to is the Falafel, the Beetnik, Orchard, and Ritual. But I just tried their Impossible Picnic with the plant based meatballs and you would never guess its meatless. So yummy! I also really appreciate the staff in this location. They are efficient, super friendly, serving with a smile, and always asking if I'm enjoying my salad. They seem to take pride with what they do and it shows. I'm been coming a couple times a week at this location and just wanted to say thank you to Nacho (GM), Aquetta (Service Mgr), Juan, Patricia, Armando, and Mavis for doing it right everyday. I was visiting my folks in San Jose the other day and I was totally bummed out there was no Mixt in the area. Hope they open one soon in the South Bay! Hint! Hint! read more

The recipes are rarely good (I had 4 salads and all were bad), the packages are mounts of plastic and the employees didn't chop the ingredients correctly and gave poor service. I love Mixt!!! I remember having Mixt for lunch while I was working in FiDi almost everyday. My body was happy but my bank account wasn't. I'm so happy there's a Mixt near where I live now, so I can have it for 7 days a week instead of 5. My usual go-to order is the Cowboy Salad or Bachelor Salad with very light dressing, but decided to order something else for a change. The market plates are underrated. They're nutritious and delicious! I had the herb chicken with quinoa and broccoli. Broccoli is money - slightly crispy & very flavorful. The chicken is juicy and the quinoa is sweet. My plate was an explosion of flavor. In terms of cleanliness, it's very clean though you see a lot of flies. All Mixt Greens places tend to have flies because of the fresh produce displayed by the counter. The bathroom here smelled like wet dog, but this is not the restaurant's fault. Mixt is very similar to Sweetgreen, but I think it is unique to San Francisco. The menu is so huge that it took me 5-10 minutes just to decide what I wanted- let's just say salad is my staple food. I built my own but I'd recommend to order a pre-set salad and just adjust a few ingredients to suit your tastes. It makes for a more cohesive salad. Tips: the carrot-ginger dressing is SO good. Ask for samples of the dressing beforehand. Also, order mashed sweet potatoes on the side to use as a form of dressing (it's really good!). The salads are huge and can be split between two people. It's the type of place I would come a ton if I lived in SF. read more

There was a moving live crawling bug in my salad that I ordered from here. Had eaten half the salad and noticed this black and orange crawler on the leaf. Absolutely disgusted. Never have i ever seen a crawling insect alive and moving in salads (and I eat salads regularly)! He explained where the trout was from (Oregon steelhead trout) and even knew which legumes were canned (garbanzos) and which were not (the lentils). I'd previously been to many of the Mixt downtown locations. I think the biggest differences between the two (and what makes the Marina location a 4-star restaurant, rather than the 3-star rating I'd give the FiDi locations) are that the Marina location: -Serves beer -Is open until 9 PM -Has a hot bar/plates you can order with chicken, steak or tuna and two healthy sides like grilled broccoli, Brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes and more -Has less salad options (IE: I usually get the Tuk Tuk in FiDi but they don't offer that in the Marina) My go-to here are the hot plates a) because they're delicious but b) because all of the sides are very tasty and fresh. I'm not even a huge veggie lover, but the grilled broccoli here is everything (just the right amount of char!) The quinoa with purple cauliflower with almonds is also a go-to.--You can't go wrong any of the sides in my opinion The service is usually really fast, efficient, and friendly, and you can also order ahead on the app to skip lines. Finally, a trick that they don't tell you, is that if you want bread, you have to specifically ask for it at the counter. They give out free bread with any lunch, you just gotta ask! read more

Stopped by during a Friday lunch and we had the make your own salads and they used fresh leaves and ingredients and dressing. Pros: Location is easy to find and the salads are substantial. They have lots of non-salad options that include, but not limited to quinoa, tuna, steak, and chicken with veggie sides. They provided lots of options for ingredients and dressing. Drink menu has beer. Its a chipotle/subway like assembly line ordering and your salad immediately or get a number and your dish is brought out to you. Cons: The base price for a salad without meat is $10 for 5 items and dressing. Although we found a seat, the lunch time seating got so full there were no seats left and a lot of people had to eat standing up without a table, which is the only reason i took off a star. But my Chicken Caesar, which according to the printed menu was to be made with "hearts of romaine," was a major disappointment. As you can see in the photo, these dark green leaves of romaine, some of which had brown edges, were simply not "hearts" as advertised. Hello deliciousness! I can't believe that my stomach came across this heavenly place. Healthy! Yes! I get to choose my own ingredients. Quick, convenient and always polite peeps. Aquetta works in the evenings and she is so bright and warm. Always smiles brighter than the sun. Makes my experience worth yelping about. Tips: Order the entire chicken breast that is available if you are adding bird to your salad, it cost a few bucks more but OMG. Don't order the precut chicken, tastes like old bubble gum, chewy and cold and flavorless. Steak and salmon is outstanding as an add on too. I'm a total fan. Tips to the owners. 1. Do a merchants discount. 2. Offer 7 free toppings instead of 5, they can be smaller but the idea is to get maximum nutrients without breaking the bank. 3. This is a review about a specific employee, not about the food. I am a regular at this Mixt location. For about one year I have come here a few times per week and absolutely love the salads and the staff, except for one employee in particular. I don't usually write reviews but I feel this employee must be called out. Jorge has consistently been rude to me, has never said hello to me, and ignores me when I speak to him. He puts the smallest scoop of everything and has this serious negative energy, with a constant frown. The entire rest of the staff has been so kind to me, always talking in a sweet, respectful way, especially Aquieta, Santos, Ignacio, and others. This is the only employee that makes me feel unwelcome and makes me never want to return. read more
