Chose this place for our anniversary dinner. I made a mistake. I want to start on a positive note so I must say the service staff is amazing. And they all work as a team. The food came out Tapas style which is fine with me. The drinks were good also and the ambiance is a amazing. However the food is not worth the money. Wings: small, dry, very salty, drenched in a soy sauce. Grilled oysters: Very fishy smell, taste was bland. They don't give you lemons with it. Fried Rice: we figured if anything would be acceptable it would be fried rice. It was soupy, drenched in soy sauce. The portion is very small but it didn't matter it was horrible. Salmon: DRY and flavorless. NY Strip: was cooked to the right temp however it was not seasoned. I would recommend this place for the drinks only. Tried this rooftop with a few girlfriends. The food was pretty good and decently priced for this area of town. I would recommend the drunken pineapple, cali love roll, and the crispy cauliflower. The drinks were OK. I got the watermelon Spumoni and the watermelon was fresh but they put too much ice into the skinny glass so it made it difficult to drink unless you ask for a straw. the ice was also overflowing over the top of the glass. I also ordered an espresso martini. It came out and tasted like stale coffee and the color was extremely light. They brought me a new one and it was about the same. Service was OK. Due to Covid I try not to harp on service as much since I'm just thankful people are working! They were definitely over sat though so were doing their best. read more

Mizu is now one of our favorite restaurants in Charlotte. The ambiance is unmatched and truly a unique vibe for the southpark area. We enjoyed all of the dishes we had, but the cauliflower and tuna crisp were our favorites. We will be definitely be coming back! read more

Mizu is elegant without being stuffy. The food tantalizes your taste buds in a way that makes you want more and more. Order enough tapas and the flavors just keep coming. Presentation of food is impecabble. Even the drinks as well. You can tell a lot of thought went into it and all the staff put their effort into the dish to make it absolutely perfect. We made our reservation about 2 weeks in advance for a Saturday night since we knew it would be busy. Upon arrival the hostess wordlessly plopped our menus down at the sushi bar and walked away before I could say anything. When I went back to the front to specify our reservation was for a table, not bar seats, she told us that all the tables were reserved for larger parties, as they had already given away all the 2 seaters. The couple AFTER us got the last one. Thankfully the manager overheard and intervened to seat us properly, but I got the stink eye from the hostess the entire night. I still give three stars though because the food was pretty good! I had the miso salmon. Expensive for what they give you, but it's just that type of place. read more

What an impressive experience my friends and I recently had at Mizu. It was more than just the amazing food.. it was also the extraordinary service we had. Our server Madden had to be one of the best servers I have ever had. Her knowledge of the menu was impeccable, and everything she described I wanted to try. She was friendly, personable, witty and by the end of the night I felt like she was a friend that we just reunited with after not seeing for a while. The general manager, Robert was also a gem. He stayed and chatted with us at the table for at least 10 mins... you can truly tell he enjoyed his job and cared that our experience was the best it could be! The food was literally the icing on the cake. I didn't even get a picture of everything because it disappeared as quickly as it was brought to us! Every single dish we had exceeded our expectations. Although we wished the tapas style dishes were bigger, every bite was a celebration in our mouth. The drinks were equally as enjoyable. Do yourself a favor and check out Mizu! This restaurant was oooook. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the Tai Dye drink it was amazing. If you enjoy a lot of sour and a little sweet that's the drink for you! The wings are small but yummy and the Cali Roll is nice. Would add videos but I'm not sure if Yelp supports video. I would recommend a rooftop happy hour and not a formal dinner at this establishment. Very nice photo opportunities. read more

The atmosphere here is lovely. It would make for a really nice date night spot but my visit to Mizu was to have a couple drinks with some girlfriends. The bartenders were super friendly and made great recommendations for gorgeous & tasty cocktails. I didn't have any food this visit but I'll be sure to return and try it out next time. read more

A group oh 22 of us had the opportunity of eating at Mizu in the Hyatt South Park during QueensFeast! What an amazing dinner . The Yaki Tori Chicken was very flavorful and tender. The flakey and perfectly cooked Saikyo Salmon has unique sauce with just enough "kick" to make this a must have dish. Chef Luis and his amazing staff made this an enchanting night complete with a colorful sunset , which was seen from inside and the outside on the roof top patio. read more

Unfortunately MIZU is just not good anymore, i used to come all the time with my girlfriends... From wine list to food everything was very bad. Our waiter was so sweet so i feel bad writing this. The smells coming from the front of the house smells like dirty diapers. The wine list was awful. All very sugary and cheap. The menu has changed a lot , but nothing was good. Mizu was different. Our flight got cancelled due to an unforeseen winter storm by the name of Izzy and not many places were open, which is odd because I thought it snowed in North Carolina but that's cool too. Anyways back to the review. We were already staying at the Hyatt and we had heard of this place and the vibes that it contained. We had a decently large party of maybe around 11-13 or so and the service was good. We were sat relatively fast and they were quick to tell us that the restaurant is a tapas style of restaurant and that our food would be coming out as it was ready regardless of when the other plates were coming out. This didn't seem like a problem. I noticed other reviews which hated that aspect but personally I don't mind. Our food came out at a decent rate and our drinks were well made as well. All in all it was a great meal and a good atmosphere. The only potential gripes I would have are due to the tapas style the portions aren't of particular weight and size so you're encouraged to order multiple, which we did, but the bill ended up quite pricey for two people. I even overheard another couple the next day complaining to the front desk. I'm not complaining though but wanted to add it to the review just for transparencies. read more

This is about their service. The food is outstanding, however. Forever waits for drinks, edamame as the last course, very inconsistent delivery of food. Probably the same reason as other bad experiences recently -- untrained servers, not enough employees, etc. This is a great restaurant but they really need to get their act together regarding service. read more

The rooftop deck had an amazing view and we were able to watch the sunset, which was spectacular. Unfortunately the hostess was about as rude as they come. I even asked her if she was ok or having a bad night, which certainly didn't improve the situation. The waitress was great and so was the Chilean sea bass. The salmon was good but could've used more flavor. Overall it was ok, just unfortunate the customer service experience at the beginning was horrible. read more

Really disappointed! Our first time trying MIZU and we likely won't return. We tried the Restaurant Week tasting menu for $45 pp despite the waitress telling us that many people were still hungry afterwards. Needless to say, the portions were very small and actually smaller than expected, with little flavor---from the 1/16" tuna on a cracker to the "average at best" sushi roll to the bland strawberry thin roll. My wife's oysters were just ok and her short rib was a bit dry. Her cheesecake (GF) was pretty good but it's 1/3 of a piece. The portions are way too small and the price is way too high. Other issues...they messed up my wife's drink with the wrong tequila, our main course came out 6 minutes apart and we heard them playing the Village People song "YMCA"?!?! How's that for a cool, ambiance vibe? NOT! We did complain to the staff and the manager made it right, but after thinking about it, we've decided we probably won't return. Too bad because it's in a great location and the bar and outdoor patio looks cool. For vibe, crowd, food, flavors, value and overall experience, go across the street to Bulla. read more

The sushi, firecracker shrimp, crispy potatoes, and tuna crisp appetizer were all extremely delicious. Unfortunately the $42 Chilean sea bass was very thinly sliced (half inch thick) and overcooked. If you serve a dish at that price you should pretty apparently see that was a poor presentation at the very least. Service was quite slow although very friendly. I booked via open table for a girls night with friends/coworkers the week after grand opening and upon arrival the staff was so courteous, respectful, and made me feel so welcomed. They referred to me by name when they approached the table which was (1) extremely personal and (2) impressive given that multiple staff members approached the table throughout dinner, including the MOD. We were also greeted by an amazing spread of citrus fruits we could add to our waters. But even more than the rare to find excellent customer service, the food was phenomenal. We were brought a complimentary appetizer (opening week perk) of crispy cauliflower and... you will want to order that. When we first arrived we were waiting for the rest of our party so we grabbed drinks and sat on the patio. Everything was fine. Okay so let's fast forward to a party of 10 for a birthday. The birthday girl sat in the middle so the waitress decided that she would take her order first and then she bounced from each side of the table to take the remaining orders. Between drinks, appetizers and entrees the waiters who were bringing everything kept going to the wrong person and when I tell you this was every time. It was EVERY SINGLE TIME they brought something out. Food was okay, drinks were great. Now we asked for the checks because of course it's getting late. The waitress handed checks to the wrong people and each tab was wrong. So two out of our party of 10 she kept getting what they ordered wrong when she brought out their bills. She came to the table 4 times asking and they NEVER changed the answers she STILL KEPT GETTING THEM WRONG. So now the manager is involved and she comes over asked them what they order and decided to write it down because I can only assume it was a hassle for the waitress. So she finally gets it right. BUT she says oh there were a few things that weren't accounted for so we just took care of them. So we're looking at her like no that's not correct. It came off EXTREMELY accusatory as if we purposely skimmed them out of $100. Considering the waitress bounced around and probably put in extra orders that was NOT our fault so we really didn't appreciate the statement because clearly we had no problem paying. I'm never going back. This just really put a bad taste in my mouth especially when I could've went somewhere that wouldn't have had so much confusion and a more fluid system. Instead of accusing paying customers of theft how about asking your waitress why she took orders in that manner and didn't have anything sent to the table correctly causing confusion for the other servers helping her. Not to mention she never came back to the table because she was sooooo pissed she kept getting the bills wrong. read more
