    Sakura Roll
    Sriharsha A.

Came here for Sunday lunch and it was super peaceful since the place was empty. Tried the Sunkissed and Sakura rolls. Both were fresh and tasty, loved that the Sakura was rolled in cucumber instead of rice. Lots of creative roll options, a bit pricey but you can see why with the ingredients. Staff was friendly and parking was easy. Good spot overall, but with so many better sushi places around, I probably wouldn't go back.

I was craving Japanese food this Mother's Day and decided to try this place. It was a casual Japanese Restaurant with a decent variety of food on their menu. I enjoyed the Citrus Seared Salmon out of all the plates we ordered. It's appetizing. The Baked Mussels are also good, but unfortunately my throat got scratched by something in the sauce. Just need to be more careful if you order this. But taste-wise it's flavorful. We also ordered the calamari, but we were disappointed that it's neither calamari rings nor flour breading. The Beef Bulgogi is big serving, and is good for sharing. It comes with a side of rice already. They also have kids menu, but the serving size is big and is a bit on pricey for a kid's plate in a casual restaurant ($19+). They did serve free miso soup for everyone, which is a positive. The service was good. The food came out fast. There's outdoor pario seating as well. The location is accessible and convenient, with parking near the restaurant and on the big lot across, which is still a convenient distance.

Had an incredible experience at Mizu Sushi Bar! Prompt Service. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The Honeymoon Special was a show on its own delicate, rich in flavor, and such a fun way to start the meal. We also tried the Rainbow Blossom Roll and an Avocado Salmon Hand Roll both absolutely melted in our mouths. The fish was so fresh, and the balance of textures was perfect. The Salmon Teriyaki came with miso soup, salad, and rice, and was the perfect savory balance to all the sushi. Highly recommend this spot for sushi lovers or anyone looking for a quality, satisfying Japanese meal. Can't wait to come back!

The sushi rolls here were really good, and they arrived really fast. Everything tasted fresh and well-made. The service was great too. Our waitress let us charge our phone behind the counter, which was super nice. But my one critique is the prices are too high for what you get, especially compared to other sushi places in the area. It's definitely not bad to try if you're curious. But for the price I don't think I'll come back soon.

Lunched with friends at Mizu Sushi Bar & Grill in Mountain View on Saturday, January 28, 2023. I had already been to Mizu in San Jose a couple of times, but this was my first visit to this location. We planned to meet up at 12:30 PM, but most if not all of us were running a few minutes late. Located in The Village at San Antonio Center, there were plenty of available parking spots in the lot, thank goodness, so we arrived shortly before 12:45 PM sans reservations. Surprisingly, the restaurant wasn't really busy, so we were seated at a table without wait. Similar to their San Jose locale, the casually modern environment was clean and well kept. While we were seated, a got a whiff of a savory aroma that caught my attention and woke up my senses. The fragrance was mouth-watering. Below are a few of the items that we ordered: Mizu House Salad - Clare ordered this deliciously fresh-looking plate of greens. If I were her, I would have wanted more than one sliced strawberry. Cherry Blossom SIGNATURE ROLL - This was Josephine's sushi order. It was a pretty presentation, but I don't eat raw fish, so didn't try a piece when she offered some to us all. Sunkissed SIGNATURE ROLL - Sching enjoyed this roll. 3 item BENTO BOX with Beef Teriyaki, California Roll, and Shrimp Tempura - This was my lunch selection. Very yummy it was, but I wished that the beef was leaner/had less fat. Service was fast and friendly. Mizu Sushi Bar & Grill in Mountain View gets my two thumbs up. I want to return and share the House Boat with V!

Everytime I'm in this neighborhood in Mountain View, I always see this. I felt like doing Sushi again today. I'm here at Mizu Sushi Bar & Grill for Tonight. I've been to a few of their locations, except for this one, this my first time here. It's Sushi time. This is one nice looking Sushi Spot. I had to do it, I went with a Custom made House Boat. It's actually in a decorative Boat. How neat. It got a bit of everything in it, Chicken Teriyaki, Beef Teriyaki, assorted Tempura, California Roll, and some more California Roll. It kinda looks too pretty, but I devoured the whole thing. It was a way bigger portion, than expected. It was one of the best Teriyaki I ever had. I like how they Rolled the Sushi, this was one of the best versions of this Roll I've had. The pickled Veggies were out of this world. And I can tell, the fat dolop of Wasabi on it was grated fresh. I gotta to give them some points, for the Presentation. And I was going to say there's some good people Working here, but something unwanted happened at the end, there were some miscommunication, and the Salespeople or Marketers in the Back Office did kinda terrible on Designing the menu, iono what happened there. I was going to give them a good review, but eh. This could be a 4.6 stars on a good day, if I give this 4.4 stars it would be too low and wouldn't do it justice, and I originally wanted to give this a 4.5 stars, but what I really want to give it is a 1-2 stars, so I'm going to give this 4.5/4.6 stars out of 5 stars. That's a very high score for what it is. I'm unsatisfied though. It was Executed and put together so well. It was a phenomenal Dinner. But I'm unsatisfied, that was my last time there, and I'm never returning.

    Takoyaki
    Eric S.

POV: You're on your way to boba bliss but never bothered to step inside the Mizu Sushi right next door lol. Until now! We decided to finally try Mizu and did not regret it!! I'll be honest, I was put off at first as there weren't any customers inside at 5 pm on a weekend night (tbf it was Sunday). But the food, service, and general decor/layout was all 5 stars. Shoutout to Elaine by the way, she was our server and was exceptional, super friendly and fast, didn't check in too little or too much. FOOD TIME: Miso Soup 9/10: Not as overpowering/savory as other joints which is a good thing in my opinion as it really is just the perfect touch to start the meal. Sometimes I really enjoy a salty/miso-y soup, but when you're gonna be cannon-balling your sashimi into soy sauce anyway, this is nice (jk on that). Takoyaki 9/10: Honestly this was some of my favorite Takoyaki after trying some other really good areas. It's not cheap at $14 but if you order it to share, I found it worth it. Just chewy enough with a nice blend of crispness offset by the shaved green onion. Rainbow Blossom Roll 10/10: I find myself rarely giving 10s on an entree simply because there's usually some room for improvement but I really liked this one! On a bed of crab-based salmon and tuna rolls sits a mountain of what I think were fried scallop balls?? I should have read the menu better but this was a really unique dish that I liked. Just the right blend of sushi with the chewy, crispy scallops. Bonus points for the ginger being styled into a flower (y'all really didn't have to do that but OKAY). Red Dragon Roll 9/10: This was super tasty and a tad bit of mild spice from the onion or sauce. There was some tempura in it too for a nice texture but wow it was one of my favorites as well. Overall, pleasantly surprised by everything at this Mizu location. It can make anyone hesitant when they see a slightly lower Yelp rating, but this was one of those experiences that reminded me not to judge a book by its cover :)

This is a great casual place for sushi rolls. They are very creative with the various varieties of rolls. My boyfriend doesn't eat raw fish so he ordered the garden roll and green dragon roll. I ordered the rainbow blossom roll... it's the best combo with crab meat, tuna, salmon, and topped with fried bay scallops. Everything was delicious. The wait staff was friendly and consistently refilled our water and tea. Decor is modern and family friendly.

The food was okay. I've had better Japanese. The menu is a bit overwhelming. The service was fine. The split bento box display is cool as I've never seen that before. The sushi roll did the job. The ambiance is casual with a classy interior. I'd probably be here once.

I came here during the week with a colleague to get lunch. The place was quite empty, which was kind of nice. The staff was very attentive and friendly. They have a large selection of items on their menu. We had a couple of bento boxes and a rainbow blossom roll to share. Everything was fresh and absolutely yummy. The food was on the pricey side, but portions were pretty large. We almost couldn't finish our meals. I would definitely recommend this place.

Went for Daily Lunch Special Food - 3/5. Miso soup was flavorful and mellow. Salad had a good crunch, and the dressing was creamy. Beef teriyaki was a bit overcooked making it tougher than desired while its sauce was on the thicker side and generic in flavor. Salmon sushi was average as with an undesirable bite on the fish and decent flavor on the rice. Spicy tuna rolls were just OK being on the blander side. They put cucumbers into the roll which added an awkward crunch to an otherwise smooth texture making it feel like filler material. Service - 4/5. Fast and courteous service. Value - 2/5. The entrees were mediocre and way too small; even with a three item bento box I wasn't feeling very satisfied. Almost $30 is way too high for a lunch special, especially for the quality and portion size being offered. It is hard to justify a visit here when there is so much local competition that offer better products for less. Parking - Mall Lot (Free)

A solid sushi restaurant with quality food! Mizu has an extensive menu offering a good selection of appetizers, bento box (lunch only), and even platters for large orders! We came for lunch and was seated quickly. The bento box seemed like a good idea but we were craving sushi so ordered 2 rolls; Rainbow Blossom Roll and Dragon Roll. They were both delicious! Service was swift and professional. We will definitely be back to try more items on the menu!!

Service is good. However, food is not ok! You can't just use 2 pieces of shrimps only for 1 roll! I can simply say this place is cheap.

The standout, though, was the egg. It was easily one of the best-cooked ramen eggs I've had outside of Japan--perfect texture and absolutely nailed. My only minor criticism would be the broth. It had some really nice garlic notes, but compared with how well everything else came together, it tasted just a little flat. Maybe a touch more tare, seasoning, or depth would have brought it up to the same level as the rest of the bowl. Overall, a really enjoyable bowl of ramen with excellent noodles and an exceptional egg. I'd definitely come back.

The city parking structure behind the place was partly full and there was parking on the 3rd and 4th levels. I've been here before for the Tonkatsu Curry, which was very good. Today I tried the Special Tonkatsu Ramen spicy. There were tables available but I chose the counter with another diner there. After ordering, my noodles were brought to me in about 10 minutes. Service was very good and attentive throughout. My ramen consisted of two thin Teriyaki flavor chashu pork slices, soft boiled egg, creamy spicy tonkotsu broth, bean sprouts, thin chewy noodles, topped with green onion and a nori square. Service was outstanding. A very good ramen among many very good ramen places. Very repeatable.

This time, I used the online Yelp waitlist option and was able to get in much quicker. We were offered bar seats right away, but since we wanted a regular table, we waited just another five to six minutes, which was not bad at all. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, and every time someone enters, the servers warmly greet them. Since it was our first time, the server took the time to explain the menu, which made ordering a breeze. Plus, the presentation of the food deserves a solid five out of five! Here is what we ordered: Tonkotsu Udon Deluxe (Large, Medium Spicy): The portion size is huge, and a regular size should easily suffice since I could not even finish the large. The pork kakuni (braised pork belly) was incredibly soft, tender, and packed with flavor, and the broth was really good. This deluxe version comes with everything in the regular Tonkotsu Udon plus pork belly: a rich pork and fish broth, three pieces of premium chashu, shrimp tempura (which I asked for on the side), a seasoned boiled egg, garlic, green onions, boiled spinach, fish powder, and tempura bits. Beef Sukiyaki Nabeyaki Udon (Regular, Mild): This includes sweet and tender beef, a poached egg, maitake mushrooms, onions, green onions, fish cake, and tempura bits. We actually felt the broth on this one was even better than the Tonkotsu. The beef was flavorful and an absolute delight to eat. Vegetable Tempura (A La Carte): Comes with sweet potato, eggplant, pumpkin, corn, maitake mushrooms, and broccoli. The absolute standout was the pumpkin because it was so sweet and tender. It comes with a lower-sodium, light soy sauce that makes dipping the tempura effortless and light. Hot Ginger Orange Sake: A lovely drink made with dried ginger, dried orange, and rosemary. The aroma of orange and rosemary was very calming, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Extras: They also provide a side of spice powder if you want to dial up the heat on your soup. Practical Details: Parking & Waitlist: Visiting on a Saturday means it gets very busy, and you will need to find parking before turning onto Castro Street. Joining the online waitlist ahead of time is definitely the way to go to make getting in smoother. Overall, it is a fantastic spot with wonderful service and incredible udon. We will gladly return!
